2401  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why DCA Strategy on: October 18, 2022, 06:54:32 AM
I have been doing DCA for a long time and in this regard I wanted to make two points.

The first is that DCA is the most feasible for most people, because few, especially retail investors, have a good lump sum to invest all at once. So, investing little by little as you save money is the most logical thing to do.

On the other hand, the DCA does not have to be exactly the same all the time. If you have $100 to invest per month, you don't have to limit yourself to that amount if at some point you have more money available, especially in bear markets like now which are better times to buy.

2402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I find way to win on dice on: October 18, 2022, 06:43:03 AM
I think you are describing the martingale strategy. I would not recommend doing this with large sums of money as you will definitely find the strategy to be extremely disappointing. It sounds good on paper but the real world does not like to see probability go our way. Especially with a house edge. In the end you lose everything the same way as newbies do. By doubling down on a bad streak. Or even a good streak.

He is indeed describing the Martingale. But the main problem with that strategy is not the one you mention, the main problem is that with that strategy, we risk an increasing capital, doubling every time we lose to gain in net the initial bet. Risking more and more, doubling each time, to win a little is a sure recipe for disaster.
2403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is key differences between Bitcoin and tulip bubble on: October 18, 2022, 06:25:15 AM
The only difference is with Tulip bulbs you had something tangible. With Bitcoin you get 7 Tx/s and you are screwed-a-roo.

I don't know if you mean the shitty altcoins you promote and your scams are more tangible?

"I knew Satoshi Nakamoto. Satoshi Nakamoto was a friend of mine. And you Sir are no Satoshi Nakamoto."

https://p2pfoundation.ning.com/friends/SatoshiNakamoto

You added yourself years after Satoshi was no longer active: https://web.archive.org/web/20141022054522/https://p2pfoundation.ning.com/friends/SatoshiNakamoto

It looks like you created your account in March 2014 and the first thing you did was leave a comment promoting a shitty altcoin on a more than five year old post by Satoshi.

Bitcoin certainly has nothing to do with tulips or your scams. As a means of payment in terms of speed, as you point out, it is not the best, but that is what second layer solutions are for. Otherwise, it is the best invention for storing and transferring wealth.
2404  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Currency should be Integrated into School Curriculum on: October 18, 2022, 05:57:56 AM
Why should it? Finance (and probably investing in general?) is a far better and far more important subject. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are just a subsection of the broader topic that is investing.

Yes, well, personal finance I would say. But that does not interest the public authorities. They are interested in people who are financially uneducated, who spend a lot, who get into debt and are always in debt. They want them to be financially dependent on the system.

But that's not going to happen in most of the world, because educating people about money is considered fascist.

Educating about Bitcoin within that curriculum would be ideal, but, again, this is not in their interest. They are not going to promote a currency that attacks their power.

2405  Economy / Gambling / Re: Metaspins.com - Crypto casino - Up to 57% Rakeback Wagerfree on: October 18, 2022, 03:40:49 AM
Not sure if running a signature campaign is what they need right now, don't you think it's a bit early?

Early why?

What I see here is a serious project, well worked, and that has made a serious investment from the beginning. A casino is a money-making machine as long as it is able to attract customers, give them a good experience and properly manage their bankroll. The first part is already there, at least as far as this forum is concerned.

On the contrary, we have repeatedly seen crappy projects, with a crappy Ann, with a forum account that doesn't even buy a copper membership to post images, and as a result, those projects don't usually succeed.

It is much better to start as Metaspins has done than as these shitty projects do.
2406  Other / Archival / Re: What casinos are safe on: October 18, 2022, 03:27:26 AM
Hey here. I want to try myself in casino playing, but I am really afraid of being scammed. Few years ago I lost a huge amount of money that I saved for a long time..

Well, as you can see, casinos have already been recommended to you. In general the casinos that we wear in the signatures are reliable, like the one I wear, Metaspins.com, the only one I would not recommend is 1xBit, which I usually call 1xCrap, which is a casino widely known for scamming its customers.

The rest are generally reliable. What I would recommend you before trying them is to visit their threads to know what is being said there, and to read their T&Cs.
2407  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] Metaspins.com | Signature Campaign ~ Sr. Members+ | Earn up to $70/Week on: October 18, 2022, 03:21:31 AM
Hi Hhampuz, I've just changed signatures and the avatar but as you will know, the avatar may take a bit to be shown.

Current post count 4194.

Thanks.
2408  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777 is Casino Critique on: October 17, 2022, 04:53:55 PM
Get a grip on yourself, I already wrote that I didn't see his last post.

I already got a grip but after that, suchmoon has said that
Quote
but it turns out that at least part of it is true.

And you have agreed. I have put the quote and the screenshot so you can see that it is 100% true.

PS. I was ready to invest 0.04 BTC with Casino Critique. I probably would not have had the confidence in doing so had I known that it was Royse777 raising the money, with him being fresh off the heels of the BitLucy snafu and all, with him saying he needs some time to cool down from it.

Well, I hope you agree with me that I was right to reveal the secret. And it was a bit by chance, because for the same reason you say, I had put the Reputation section on ignore, and when a thread was moved here, I unignored the section because I was interested in following it.

Then I saw what had happened with that disgusting being called naim027, AnotherAlt, whatever scumbag and that's what triggered me to reveal the secret and I red tagged Royse777 and CC.

Everything was going as planned until Poker Player decided to break the trust that I had for him.

You better not blame others for what you brought on yourself. The little funding you got is not my fault, and as suchmoon says, telling so many people to keep a secret about you, makes it quite likely to be revealed.

What I don't understand is what kind of trust you had in me. We hadn't exchanged a single PM before you offered me the chip, and we had barely interacted in threads either. Too long I kept it a secret for the little relationship we had.
2409  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777 is Casino Critique on: October 17, 2022, 03:20:51 PM
Why are we still babbling about this debunked accusation 3 months later?

Debunked NotATether? I can't believe you would say that coming from a quality poster like you. I think you are blinded by personal empathy.

Well, you're forcing me to do something I didn't think was necessary.

I hope you are doing great buddy!

I am behind the project Casino Critique and forum account Casino Critique is my official account. Please keep it unpublished.
Link of our ANN: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5409868.0

I would like to Gift you a Chip worth 0.001 BTC, which is on me. :-)
It's under the clause:
9. Team have the right to invite known gamblers, Bitcointalk members or ANYONE to this FREE gift promotion.
Would you mind replaying with a BTC address so that I can add it for you?

On the ANN thread you will be able to see more details including the Chip allocated for users on the spreadsheet.

Cheers,

PS: Feel free to reach out to me on my telegram for any question: @Royse777

That was my initial impression too but it turns out that at least part of it is true.

I'm done with dramas. You won't see much of me in this section. I have done what the voice of my conscience tells me is the right thing to do, and I am not going to enter into endless discussions about my tag and my motives.
2410  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Biden mentally OK? on: October 17, 2022, 02:50:49 PM
It's gotta be Hillary. Both candidates could replay their greatest hits from 2016. Her e-mails!!! It'd be epic.

...and could make Trump look even more stupid than usual.

You take it for granted that the Republican nominee is going to be Trump? I hope it will be someone like Ron deSantis, who I don't know if you would consider a Trump apprentice. He certainly doesn't lack personality.

2411  Other / Meta / Re: Ban Appeal For NoorulHuda. on: October 17, 2022, 02:42:58 PM
Forum policy went from being too strict and banning good members for having one plagiarized sentence or two, to being too lenient and not doing anything for obvious plagiarism and I think some middle ground should be found. For example, giving more signature bans, preferably for longer period of time (not saying that OP deserves the 2nd chance btw).

Yes, probably a middle ground as you propose would be ideal.
2412  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your motive for giving on: October 17, 2022, 02:39:19 PM

Their are some people  that believe if they give x2 of what they gave will come back to them. Why some people they always give with wisdom, they don't give when what they have with them is not enough .

It is not a good reason to give, and probably, with that mentality you will get the opposite result.

I started giving when things started going well for me financially, without expecting anything in return, and things started going even better for me financially, as I described in this thread:

What about the role of giving in personal finance?

My reason for giving is that it is a good action in itself. I don't have to think of complicated arguments to justify it.
2413  Other / Meta / Re: Ban Appeal For NoorulHuda. on: October 17, 2022, 02:14:11 PM
Seriously.  I regret ever supporting him, and honestly I'd much prefer that permabans remain exactly that unless there are extraordinary circumstances--which, in the case of naim027, there really weren't.

NoorulHuda, I'd say I wish you luck but I'd be lying.  I'm not sure why you haven't gotten the message yet, but if I were you I'd give up your quest to get unbanned.  I think your argument is full of shit and you certainly aren't such an important part of bitcointalk that your account needs to be restored.

I think exactly the same as you. And I am surprised by this lenient policy with those who break the rules. It seems to me too socialist or liberal in the American sense, because leftist people tend to think that if you steal, rape or kill is that you are a poor victim of circumstances and that society has failed you, and that those circumstances have forced you to steal, rape or kill. Therefore society has to impose a low penalty, oriented to reintegrate you and release you as soon as possible.

We are seeing something like this on a small scale in the forum regarding plagiarism and bans. And I am surprised, having an ancap in charge. Although no one, including myself, is free of apparent contradictions.

2414  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: October 17, 2022, 07:58:28 AM
As I recall, _BlackStar was also accepted when he was a Senior member. maybe some other members too. please correct me if wrong.

If I remember correctly, that happened to me as well.

Incidentally, I have deleted my application for this campaign because I have been accepted in another one, and I don't care that much about the difference in payment.

I would like to take this opportunity to say hello to my former colleagues of the Best Change campaign and to Best_Change.
2415  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: October 17, 2022, 06:53:52 AM
Next time you should check well before you conclude. All the Senior members applying for the campaign cannot be wrong at the same time. I also joined this campaign as a Senior member.
So you have a chance to join this campaign, likewise all other Senior members.
I wish you all success.

Signature campaign rewards
We will pay minimum for 10 and maximum for 25 posts per week with the following payrates:
- Sr. Member $3/post
- Hero Member/Legendary $4/post

Yes, he has assumed that in this campaign there are slots reserved for Senior Member and others for Hero/Lengendary. Nice argumentation from him, but wrong.
2416  Economy / Gambling / Re: All the truth about Crazy Time! Is Crazy Time Rigged? on: October 17, 2022, 02:57:19 AM
Hi guys! I've been playing Crazy time live game from Evolution provider for over a year now and I've never been able to win anything significant. Lost a huge amount of money in this game. I often bet on bonus sectors, but almost always only the standard multipliers fall out. Sometimes I feel like the game is playing against me. I read this article https://www.ltccasino.com/cryptocasino/is-crazy-time-scam/ today and it only increased my doubts and distrust of this popular game. What do you think about it? Please share your knowledge and gaming experience regarding this game.

In the article, they explain that that game has a higher HE. Losing money in the casino is normal, because the odds are against you. If the HE of the casino is higher than in other games, losing streaks are more common.

The article ends by saying that they cannot assure 100% that it is rigged, although neither that it is not. In these things I tend to think that the most likely thing is that it is not rigged, a casino is a money making machine simply by being able to attract customers. Mathematics does the rest (although you have to have a good bankroll management and set bet limits accordingly, for example). But then you look at casinos like 1xCrap, and you see that there are many who choose the dishonest way to make money, when they could easily do it in a legitimate way.
2417  Other / Meta / Re: Small poll for BitcoinTalk lovers on: October 17, 2022, 02:46:33 AM
In principle, I am not interested either for the reasons given. I don't want people to know that I have Bitcoin.

I just checked: a post office box costs €329.12 for a year. And even then, there's someone at the post office who can make the link.

Although I do have a PO box and at some point I might use it to buy some forum collectibles. Obviously, I wouldn't put my real name, preserving some privacy, but the person sending it to me would know what area I live in and my zip code.

It would have to be something very worthwhile to do so.
2418  Economy / Economics / Re: The Economic Formulas For Future Food Shortage on: October 17, 2022, 02:34:53 AM
Perhaps governments of the world could further subsidize agriculture production

Do you want them to subsidize agriculture more than they already do? It's the other way around, what they have to ensure is free competition, which is what has led to billions of people having the most abundant and cheapest food in human history in the last decades.

Don't sit and wait thinking governments will save you.

Yes, so they should not subsidize.

It is also a good time to learn to hunt and fish. Or find places where there are food sources growing naturally in the wild.

I hope we don't get to that Mad Max-style situation, but if we did, guns wouldn't have to be used only for hunting or fishing.
2419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Meet the Catholic Nuns who are Building a Church with Bitcoin on: October 17, 2022, 02:27:11 AM
It is a curious case of the nuns, but in reality, that they have been able to build the church has been done by donations, which in this case have been in Bitcoin, but could have been in fiat currency. It is not that the nuns have done any work or any investment to get Bitcoin. They simply received the funds in Bitcoin and used them to build the church. What I find quite positive is:

Quote
It was Father Bartulica who set up the sisters with hardware wallets and taught them how to send, receive and get on the path toward financial sovereignty. He is on a mission to convert local Catholic parishes to a bitcoin standard. So far, the Benedictines of Mary have been most ready and able.

(from the article quoted in the OP)

I am not very religious but I welcome actions like this.

You're absolutely right and besides Lighlord is dropping here from time to time to address issues...

I don't know what you call "from time to time" when the reality is that he has been quite absent. His only post on this thread since January of this year, was the one on October 07.

I for one have nothing personal against him. I hope that he really has recovered from his health problems, if he really had them (I can't prove it) and that he can carry out fruitful projects. In any case, if so, I hope he avoids the problems that have recurrently occurred so far.
