1821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving only 1 year away on: April 09, 2023, 05:14:44 AM
Get ready for 6 figure bitcoin prices to become the norm, though we'll probably get a year's worth of 5 figure prices again during the next bear market before they are gone forever.

I think this is most likely. On the one hand because of the reduction in supply and on the other because of the expansion of the money supply, which, however much it has ups and downs, is going to continue to expand, increasingly devaluing fiat currencies. For after the next halving the most likely scenario is that the price will clearly pass $100k (after several attempts) and my doubt is whether it will pass $200k, which I think is unlikely. But I also think that the most likely scenario is as you say that in the next bear market we will return to sub $100k levels.

What we have to keep in mind is that Bitcoin is becoming increasingly scarce and fiat currencies are becoming increasingly junk.
1822  Other / Meta / Re: Spammers and Burst Posters only on: April 08, 2023, 10:26:10 AM
For me, burst posting does not exist as an absolute concept but in relation to quality. If someone writes posts at intervals of 5 to 10 minutes on average and they are of quality, he is not a burst poster.

Besides no one usually writes posts with such short time intervals continuously. The normal thing is to enter the forum, write 2 or 3 posts, and then come back in after a while and write more. So between some posts there are gaps of between 10 and 20 minutes, but maybe between the first and the second session there is a gap of a couple of hours.

For forum purposes I would say not to look so much at the interval between posts as at the quality of the posts, and for signature campaigns purposes I would introduce something else. For example someone who is 10 posts short of the weekly quota and writes them on the last day with short intervals is probably burst posting, and some campaigns have explicit rules against it. On the other hand, someone writes with 10 minute intervals but writes 7 days a week normally in different time slots and with quality? He won't be a burst poster.
1823  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Question about Freezing of account on: April 08, 2023, 05:45:04 AM
... They said she needed to fund 20% of her account balance for verification purposes and this is within 3days span of time if not the account will be totally frozen.

... But asking for deposit to verify or cleanse a freeze account? How is that even valid right to remedy the suspicion. They should ask for am evidence or any proof of their allegations instead.

It looks like a scam to me. I've never heard about such a thing but I'm not a trader either. I would exercise the utmost caution and not send any money unless I was 100% sure it was not a scam.
1824  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you think Bitcoin will hit $1 million for the first time? on: April 08, 2023, 05:40:43 AM
Just for fun, since this is the Speculation forum, when do you think Bitcoin will hit $1 million USD for the first time?

I'd kick myself if the price got there in a couple of cycles, by 2030 or so, but I think it will actually be half that in that year.

Personally I think it'll be during the 2036/2037 bull run, assuming the four year market cycles are still going on at that point. Though the 4 year cycle may have largely faded away by then, but somewhere around those years feels about right.

Probably. I expect that in the next cycles the returns will be lower. In this cycle we had a maximum of 3.5 times the previous one, and going forward I think that will be the ceiling. We can't rule out higher but I don't see it as likely.

One thing that will influence this is monetary policy. If we assume real inflation of 10%, $1M is going to be worth half that in purchasing power in about 4.5 years. We tend to look at that price a lot because it is a round number but the purchasing power by the time we reach it is going to be laughable. Today being a millionaire is not what it used to be. It's good, it means you have financial peace of mind and comfort, but you can't splurge too much, and that's why people have been talking about billionaires for a long time now.
1825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia Ranked Second As Bitcoin Miners on: April 08, 2023, 05:29:37 AM
In just concluded first quarter of 2023, Russia becomes 2nd most powerful BTC miner in the world generating 1 gigawatt mining power, after overtaking Kazakhstan.

No doubt, US remained in its position as the leading country with the most mining power, as it generates 3 to 4 gigawatt mining power.

Even with the current situations, Russia has proven that they can survive and make progress regardless of the situations.

what's your opinion ?

My opinion is that although you have not copied and pasted the information as is, so you have not plagiarized, for the next time you give such information it is better to cite the source, which in this case can be for example:

Russia Becomes World’s Second-Largest Crypto Miner

I believe that with the policy line that the USA is taking, it will probably lose the status of first miner over time, as the trend is towards more taxes, more regulations and a policy that hinders the production of energy itself, thus making it more expensive. Russia could take advantage of this due to its vast reserves of energy raw material and eventually become the first.
1826  Economy / Economics / Re: "Greedflation" has gone too far! on: April 08, 2023, 04:24:08 AM

In other words, a communist economist, of which there are some, predicts the end of capitalism as Marx did more than 150 years ago, just before the very system he criticized so much gave way to the highest levels of development and welfare of mankind. A little earlier, another enlightened man, Malthus, also predicted the catastrophe due to the fact that humans were supposedly growing in geometric progression while humans were growing in arithmetic progression.

The result today is that there are almost 8 billion people living on earth, compared to 1 billion in 1800. That hunger in the world has been drastically reduced and that in most of the poor countries where half a century ago people were starving, today they have an obesity problem.

Communist economists like this one don't want to learn that companies can be as greedy as they want, that if they are too greedy it backfires on them, but just his predicting the end of capitalism for the umpteenth time should make us think.

Why are groceries or food items much more expensive?

It's not so much that prices are going up as that money is worth less and less.
1827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am now a bitcoin investor. on: April 07, 2023, 05:43:10 AM
Here in my country, the time is 9:35 pm so I greet the community members, good evening everyone, I Rachael9385 am here to announce to the forum that I have ultimately invested in Bitcoin and I can happily say I am now an investor.
I have tried my best to be part of the Bitcoin investors because I have read a lot of news and heard some little stories where Bitcoin blesses a lot of people, so I decided to be one of them and now my parents also gave me money to invest in it because I told them from now till December I will have more than what I invested so they agreed and gave me some money to invest also.

Apart from expressing your satisfaction for having invested in Bitcoin, could you explain why you have done so?

I have been investing for quite some time now, apart from studying finance in general and personal finance in particular. A wise investor, before investing in something, first informs himself and makes a reasoned decision as to why he is going to invest in it. I hope it's not just because you think it "blesses" people, as you say.

And the story of your parents giving you money to invest in Bitcoin to someone might be heartwarming but that's not usually what happens. Someone skeptical might consider what you tell to be BS.
1828  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to bitcointalk? Small advice to you. on: April 07, 2023, 05:34:06 AM
Not a bad post if it weren't for the fact that this is the millionth post written on the subject. Besides I don't think you have to explain so much to people that you don't have to cheat trying to pass some ideas as yours without citing the source. It's like having to explain to people that you shouldn't steal.
1829  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Predictions? on: April 07, 2023, 05:25:42 AM
According to my predictions, by April 2023 the Bitcoin price could reach (±) $35,000.

Let me guess, your predictions are based on a hunch, right?

If April 2023 the Bitcoin price can reach $35,000, then it is very likely that a bullrun will occur in April 2024.

What do you think about this?

What I think is that the conclusion you draw does not follow from the premise.

I think the bull run that we are expecting is next year, after the halving. Because that is the catalyst for the massive and parabolic growth. Yes, we are up like 70% from last year, but it doesn't mean that we are officially in the bull run.

This. This would be logical assuming that the next post-halving cycle the price will behave as in previous cycles. There is no 100% guarantee, but we have no a priori reason to believe that this will not be the case.

1830  Economy / Lending / Re: Seeking a Loan (50$) on: April 06, 2023, 04:50:10 AM
Have you tried out the borrow Subreddit? - https://www.reddit.com/r/borrow/
if your account has 1000+ Karma and is well aged then you might stand a chance. Check it out.

On reddit I don't know but on the forum nobody in their right mind is going to give a $50 loan to a gambler who says he needs it urgently and is going to pay $15 interest for only 3 days, which is something like over 4,000% APR. Borrowing under such conditions and being willing to pay such interest clearly indicates financial ruin.
1831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jamie Dimon CEO of Chase Bank on Banking Crisis on: April 06, 2023, 04:41:22 AM
I would urge all of you to not only continue making your daily sat buys but if you can hack it try to throw some gold and silver into the mix as well.

Well, I have a little bit of physical gold, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to have a large percentage. Basically I believe, like many, that Bitcoin is an enhanced digital gold, meaning that as a store of value it is going to eat gold in a few years. The only reason I believe that it will maintain some value and will not be defeated 100% by Bitcoin is because it is used for jewelry, as well as in industry and electronics.

Let's look at the performance of Bitcoin and gold since 2009 and we will see that as a store of value Bitcoin has been much better. Going forward I don't think the difference will be so exaggerated but it is clear to me that Bitcoin will continue to win.
1832  Other / Meta / Re: How to get away with posting off-topic replies. on: April 06, 2023, 03:22:47 AM
I don't understand why it was so hard for you to accept that it was not off topic but very relevant to the topic created by the OP.

If they were very relevant to the topic, my reports would have been marked as "bad", and they have remained "unhandled", so I was somewhat right.

So hard? Boo hoo, yes I haven't slept for the last couple of days because of how hard it has been.

But all made you so butthurt that you had to come this far. Huh!

Yes, so butthurt that I've gone as far as Mars.

But the fact is that this is not the first time this has happened. This thread is not about the individual reports in the airfinex thread. The same thing has happened to me before, and that's why I already said what was going to happen.

I've just reported your posts for being off topic, although from previous experiences it seems to me that they will remain unhandled.

I was going to post the popcorn eating GIF on this thread but considering that would also be classified as spam by the OP, I'll just watch this unfold from the stands. Wink

Don't worry. I think the same rules apply to Meta. You are a established member, so you can post off-topic replies and enjoy!

True sometimes and it's not only about the Reputation board. I have faced the same issue in the Gambling discussion board as well. A well-reputed established forum member has derailed my thread with off-topic nonsense. I have reported the post twice IIRC but guess what; moderators didn't give it an F. I can assure you that the response would be deleted if it has been posted by a newbie or not an established spammer.

Yes, but as far as I can see, the off-topic is about a reputation issue, so I see a common pattern here. I think moderators are more reluctant to act on these issues, and more so if we are talking about higher-ranked members.
1833  Economy / Reputation / Re: Incorrect use of red feedback. on: April 06, 2023, 03:05:47 AM
I promise you this feud will not result in a "winner", just a lot of wasted time.

That's what it seems to me. I'm going to try not to come here for a week or so, although this section is a bit addictive because it's like the bitcointalk gossip.

To the OP I would say that no matter how much he writes a detailed thread with many reasons explaining why Royse777 shouldn't be in DT, there are people who will neither read it nor change their trust list even if they read the thread.

It only takes one of you to take the high road and drop this nonsense.

Surprisingly to me, even I myself have played devil's advocate, saying that his feedback, although ideally it should be neutral, it is not so bad that it should involve distrust by DT members.
1834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to convince a sceptical person to buy Bitcoin ? on: April 05, 2023, 03:58:38 AM
Why do you have to do that?

You don't need to force anyone to accept bitcoin adoption or invest in bitcoin.

You really don't need to convince anyone to accept bitcoin ...

Just don't.

Bitcoin isn’t a new product on the shelf we have advertise.

Why would you want to convince skeptics?

I am going to go a bit against it and say why bother.

I wouldn't convince anyone about Bitcoin

I won't do that, there's no reason for me to force or beg someone to invest in bitcoin,  own.

With these answers it is not clear enough for you, OP? Or do you need a couple dozen more answers.

Not just with Bitcoin, in money matters let people be wrong for themselves. Giving advice or trying to convince someone usually results in if it goes right they won't even thank you and if it goes wrong they will throw it in your face.

Better if you lock the thread.
1835  Economy / Reputation / Re: Incorrect use of red feedback. on: April 05, 2023, 03:24:06 AM
Looking at the feedback Loyse777 left, I don't think it's absolutely inappropriate--but I do think it ought to be neutral and not negative, especially if he's on DT.

Yes, if you look at the analysis I made above trying to do it from an objective point of view, I come to the same conclusion.

Without evidence, it's completely pointless assuming PP and OP are the same person. OP created account in 2018, PP in 2020. Quick math = OP is not an alt of PP. The thread is otherwise about incorrect use of feedback, which anyone is able to raise as a concern. Not necessarily the one receiving it. In fact it's quite common that a different member would create a thread about such an issue...

That could be faked of course, but I still don't believe you're his or airfinex's alt.

Apart from that, you only have to look at the command of languages that one and the other have. When have you ever seen me write in Russian? Or in French? OP is indeed an alt account of someone but at a glance we can see that we have nothing to do with each other.

Besides, that's what I said before. When I was calling Royse777 crybaby and all, if I had contacted his clients I would have told him too. I mean I called him everything, I blew the whistle on Casino Critique, I wrote negative feedback on his profile, I wrote a thread explaining why I thought he was a dishonest person, and I was going to hide for having contacted one of his clients? Come on, don't make me laugh.
1836  Other / Meta / Re: How to get away with posting off-topic replies. on: April 05, 2023, 02:48:16 AM
If you actually care about this

Not really. I wrote this in a joking tone. Doesn't point 1 ring a bell?

As I understand the unofficial rules do not apply in 100% of the cases, I also understand that it is more logical to act if the member does not have a high rank than if he does. We have all had replies deleted, but as you advance in rank it is more improbable. In addition, as in the Reputation section there are a lot of heated discussions maybe the moderators are more careful before acting.

You just sound butt hurt...

Not really, see above.

Your criteria for "getting away" with off-topic posts is nonsense, because actually the posts you reported were neither specifically on-topic nor off-topic, but instead related to the topic. The thread in reference was about Royse777 (yet again), and BitcoinGirl.Club merely referenced all related reputation-based threads in relation to Royse777. There's an argument that it adds context to the thread itself, despite the associated commentary.

In the first comment, there is still some relation to the thread, but to discuss how to search on ninjastic.space you see it very on topic?

The fact is that this is not the first time nor the second time I see it happen in this section. Reports for off topic that remain unhandled. That's why when I reported them I already guessed what was going to happen.

Not a big deal.

1837  Economy / Reputation / Re: Incorrect use of red feedback. on: April 04, 2023, 04:31:49 PM
You can easily figure out who could be the potential low life members can do such things. You will find not more than 2 if you narrow down the search, two key person and they could have many alts to hide their real account face. One is Poker Player without any doubt and have fun with finding other one.

Cheers,

My last response to this topic. Enjoy.

Look, I'm going to ask you a rhetorical question, which I don't expect you to answer if you don't want to, first because it's rhetorical and second because you've said you're not going to answer anymore in the thread but I hope it makes anyone reading this think.

Do you really think that if I had contacted a client of yours, I would have had any problem in saying it at all? Do you think I had any need to create alts?

Why would I hide? I called you a crybaby and everything. No, I would have had no problem saying so, then or now.

1838  Economy / Reputation / Re: Incorrect use of red feedback. on: April 04, 2023, 03:38:01 PM
-snip

I find it BS to be honest. I have never contacted anyone to tell them not to work with you.

Me and airfinex being alts is another BS that is obvious to anyone looking at the two profiles. I was also accused at the time that Naim027 and I were alts, so I'm not even going to stop to take it apart.

You can believe it or not, but I neither contacted anyone via Telegram at the time nor have I contacted them now to tell them to hire you or not. The OP did, and I guess other people did too, but not me.
1839  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie: If trading isn't working for you, buy and hold. on: April 04, 2023, 04:03:46 AM
I would formulate it the other way around: if you are a newbie, just buy and hold. It's the safest way to make money without headaches. Just try to trade after getting a lot of information, and even then think that 95% of traders lose money.

You have to think that trading is promoted a lot in advertising because it is what gives money to the houses in commissions. But what gives them commissions does not coincide with what is good for you.
1840  Other / Meta / How to get away with posting off-topic replies. on: April 04, 2023, 03:09:00 AM
So, I've found a system that works 100% of the time if you want to post off-topic replies and not having them deleted (I exclude here the WO thread, where they are allowed).

The system is as follows:

1. Be a somewhat established member.
2. Post them on Reputation section threads.
3. Enjoy.
