2101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of accepting bitcoin in business on: December 27, 2022, 04:12:05 AM
I see many stories like this on the forum, from African countries but mainly from Nigeria, which is the largest African community we have. Sadly, it is not representative of what happens in the rest of the world, where Bitcoin is mainly acquired as an investment, and although there are sites to pay with it, people rarely do it. But anything to help expand the knowledge and use of Bitcoin is welcome.
2102  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin cycles, this is the cyclical minimum on: December 26, 2022, 09:10:33 AM
With the OP I agree on the message of buying Bitcoin for what it is, as an asset it is much better than altcoins, or the stock market, although I believe in diversification.

Whether this is the minimum or not, neither he nor anyone else knows. We have seen too many times already extremely detailed analysis, even very suffisticated theories, that failed miserably.

Yeah, that could be the base price for the next bull run, we all know that this is the target last bull run, but we just run out of steam. And so the next time, and as big as the previous runs, we could hit $100k.

To me, it looks like it's going to cost over $100k next cycle. The normal thing is that after the next halving it will clearly go above it, but I think it's going to take a lot of tries because of the psychological factor and the sell orders that are going to be placed around that figure. Under normal conditions the price could even go above $200k next cycle, but after what we've seen in this one, it's not so clear.
2103  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SportsBet.io, Stake.com, Roobet.com and others don't pay me $158,000 due to me on: December 26, 2022, 08:45:11 AM
Well, those of us who have been here for a long time already know what happens, and we don't just believe the sobbing story of a newbie without proof. But this is a forum where free speech dominates and that has its advantages and disadvantages.

Anyway, casinos are very profitable businesses and by pure statistics, with the customer base they have they are going to have complaints and false accusations, so tough shit, it's something they have to deal with.

There have also been cases of scams or morally questionable actions on the part of casinos in some cases, and we have no a priori way of discerning them, so I think the thing is going to continue like this and that's it: with people who have broken the rules and have been caught inventing stories against casinos, and few other real cases of wrongdoing on the casinos' part.

2104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Problem with mass adoption of Bitcoin on: December 26, 2022, 08:38:29 AM
Actually holders of these whales deserve the benefits, because they take a big risk, and there is no need to limit the ownership of each user and Bitcoin holder. And I think it's the market itself that adjusts this imbalance. the real problem of this mass Bitcoin adoption comes from Governments slowing the growth of Bitcoin, and this lack of awareness about Bitcoin knowledge is also a barrier to Bitcoin adoption.

I agree 100% on this. Without denying that there may be whales making certain moves based on their interests, the story of the OP sounds to me too much like the dominant discourse against the rich, which adapted to Bitcoin would come to say that they oppress the poor little holders who are victims. The way out according to this discourse: that a politician comes along, usually a socialist or even more to the left and tries to redistrubute, although with the Bitcoin they have a hard time.

2105  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: More Regulation Incoming! on: December 25, 2022, 06:28:09 AM
So, we will see new regulations coming in through the following months. Usually, regulation comes at a price and is more damaging than the other way around. I just hope that it isn't regulation that could stifle innovation and slow down the industry to a freezing point.

I'm all for low taxes and minimal regulations but I'm going to play devil's advocate in this case. In general when a successful industry is born, as cryptocurrencies would be in this case, the absence of regulations helps the business flourish. Not paying taxes, either because it is not foreseen in the legislation or because it is easy to escape them and the industry players do not pay them, also help the initial growth, as much more can be reinvested in the business.

But as the industries mature, some regulations become necessary so that it doesn't look like the Wild West and fraudsters run wild.

I would like regulations in which people who play an important role within the bitcoin ecosystem would be involved, which is not going to happen, as they will be made by politicians seeking to preserve their status quo, even though they may seek industry input to save face.
2106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BANKMAN-FRIED PANIC GAMBLES TO REPAY DEBT on: December 25, 2022, 06:02:47 AM
Does the article is real? The source seems not credible and this kind of news is unbelievable for the likes of SBF to resort on gambling and loss 100M usd funds while his exchange and other projects is earning everyday. I believe this article is just another theory and this time they decided to us gambling to promote casino even in negative publicity.

The source does not seem very reliable, of course.

He gambled hoping that he can come out as a winner, but he was not.
Will be giving another link for this news aside from the OP's link -

https://gbc-time.com/news/sam-bankman-fried-caught-in-losing-100m-at-online-casinos

The link does not load, the page remains blank.

Let's see, after everything we have known, I would not be surprised, especially since there are precedents in another case.

I think it was a similar case with Quadriga, the founder started gambling online with the money deposited from their customers and in the end he lost it all.

But I prefer to wait for further confirmation from reliable sources, if any, before making a judgment.
2107  Economy / Reputation / Re: Flag on a supposed Poker Player on: December 25, 2022, 05:56:25 AM
You should have used this topic as a proof in flag creation and not the one created by him. Other than that, everything is obvious in this case, clear scam attempt.

I had a little alcohol in my blood when I created the flag, so I guess that didn't help, lol. I realized later, and I couldn't delete the created flag or create a new one, but ok.
Grin

About this topic and thread, I'm not sure it's particularly necessary. I would certainly refer the flag reference to the web archive of that page or some quote that you will make elsewhere.
You can not create any flag using an archived link or any other link apart from that of a bitcointalk topic as a reference. It will always return an error'
Otherwise, the user deserves the type flag, and I am supporting it

Anyway, in the negative feedback I did use the archived loyce.club post as a reference.

2108  Economy / Gambling / Re: making 500-1000usd daily in poker must read i need a partner! on: December 24, 2022, 03:06:18 PM
Hey guys, I believe whoever believes OP is at high risk of losing money, so I created a flag:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3070

Don't fall for this trap.
2109  Economy / Reputation / Flag on a supposed Poker Player on: December 24, 2022, 02:21:05 PM
This is the first time I create a flag and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong.

The thing is that I think there is not much to explain. Today a newbie has opened a thread:

Quote
making 500-1000usd daily in poker must read i need a partner!

i have a poker way to make money i will show u it fully if we can work together, not alot of money is needed , why i need money? because i was in debt im making but small amounts we can scal this up i would be fully transparent lets make this money if ure interested send me your discord

I think it is quite clear. For starters, there are very few people today who make that kind of money playing poker, although there are.

But if you are able to earn approximately $0.25M a year and you open that thread, one of two things; either you are a scammer, which is the most likely, or you manage your finances terribly, so whoever believes you also has a high risk of losing their money.

The flag:

2110  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your biggest obstacle to achieving financial freedom ? on: December 24, 2022, 09:43:38 AM
There is no obstacle, it is just not my goal, and yet, maybe I will achieve it.

If I had enough money to live on rents without working, I would keep working. Maybe I would do some other kind of work, but if you dream of financial freedom so you don't have to work one of two things is going to happen to you:

1) You're going to end up bad, doing drugs or having a bad live in general.
2) You're going to get bored playing golf and the like and after a while you'll decide to go back to work.
2111  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading With Borrowed Funds!!! on: December 24, 2022, 09:36:26 AM
It is true that some people have become rich through crypto trading in the recent times.

It is as true as there are people who have become rich playing the lottery, which does not mean that it is a good system to earn money. In fact, it is the opposite, a good system to lose it and end up much worse off than when you started.

The best ways to get rich are usually slow and boring, with some exceptions.
2112  Other / Archival / Re: [BIG LIST] Crypto Debit Cards on: December 24, 2022, 02:52:37 AM
Based on the feedback it doesn't look like a scam and cards work, but they aren't cheap.

I've read about that service at some point, I didn't know if it still works, however, I find it far too expensive compared to amounts I'd be using it with plus some effort to keep everything working; for me it doesn't worth the hassle.
I mean that if one doesn't use it extensively then crypto ATMs or the KYC cards + the tax can easily get cheaper.

Thanks though.

For me the biggest problem is not a question of money, the problem is that it is a crime, known as impersonation or equivalent depending on the country in which you reside. That card is in someone else's name and you are using it to use funds that the state does not know you have. If you are caught, you are going to have problems.

It will be hard to get caught though if you do things right, but as with most crimes. You have to be aware of the risks.
2113  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Non-KYC BTC to fiat process on: December 24, 2022, 02:41:43 AM
You can easily convert upto 100,000 euros worth of bitcoin per annum via p2p exchanges like LBC. And you no need to worry about the proof of income as long as you keep the trade limit under less than thousand euros for a trade.

You can pass level 2 verification with your national ID KYC, and find the reliable traders with high trust score and trading volume.

Let's say you convert about 900 euros per trade. Apart from being a pain in the ass, transferring 900 euros 111 times to your account in the same fiscal year can set off alarm bells as well. It would set them off automatically if you transfer the $100k in one but the sum of very small amounts passing a threshold, depending on the country, also sets them off.
2114  Other / Off-topic / Re: My story and where it is now..... on: December 23, 2022, 03:43:20 AM
Well, on an optimistic note I want to say that I know and have known throughout my life people who had complicated heart operations, in some cases several, and came out without sequelae, living many years later and dying at almost 90 years of age, like an uncle of mine, or people I still know. I do not know anyone who has had a heart transplanted, though, which I understand adds a degree of difficulty.

Best wishes to yahoo62278 in this regard.

Another thing is that it is logical and rational, to consider what happens if it goes wrong and leave things prepared in case it does. None of us really like to think about it but it is the best thing to do.
2115  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to play poker with crypto ? on: December 23, 2022, 03:30:51 AM
Blackjack.fun? When I participated in the signature campaign, I registered on the site and played blackjack, but I don't remember any poker options at all.
It was long ago when they first launched their website they only had backjack but later they added more games like a regular casinos do. I did not check but somehow it was a picture in my mind that they had poker same as SWC. Now checked their site again and it seems all they have are regular games from different providers. Even the pokers are too.

...

They improved a lot from the first concept.

Oh, Ok, but that's not poker.

I mean, it has the word "poker" in the name but that's usually better known as video poker, it's not poker versus other players where you can make a long term profit. In the variants of video poker, long-term losses are inevitable, as they are in roulette. That's what I was talking about in my previous comment:

That's not poker, then, as you can't play EV+.
2116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People who holds 1+ Bitcoin, how does it feel to hold in bear market? on: December 23, 2022, 03:24:49 AM
As whom holds more than 1 BTC now, I think you guys are in this crypto world for a long now. How does it feel to hold it in Bear market?
And what would you suggest to the people entering the market recently and having thoughts about selling their share of BTC? What's your advice to them?

As you have already been told, it is unlikely that anyone would comment in this thread admitting to holding a Bitcoin or more, as a matter of minimal caution.

On the other hand, the question you raise, seems fallacious to me, as you lump everyone who has a Bitcoin or more in the same bag, when they may have very different perceptions derived from very different personal situations.

If you are a Bitcoin maximalist, and you have only 1 Bitcoin and nothing else, no cash, no gold, no houses or anything else, your net worth is only 1 Bitcoin that you have hard earn, you will see things in a very different way than if you have 1 Bitcoin but you have a paid house and another one that you rent, $1M in retirement funds, $0.5M in blue chip stiocks that pay dividends and some gold.
2117  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Brazil Crypto Laws Demand Up to 6 Years Prison for Embezzlement on: December 23, 2022, 03:18:27 AM
Well, the crime of embezzlement exists and is punishable in most countries in the world, if not all, because I do not know the casuistry of each country. The penalties imposed are a bit high, I would say.

I just saw it, they also, just a few hours ago, submitted a law legalizing crypto payments.

I'm fine with it, legalizing payment with cryptocurrencies and imposing penalties on those who defraud seems fair to me.
2118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which kind of situation will force you to sell? on: December 22, 2022, 02:59:31 PM
In my particular case, I think it would be quite difficult for me to be forced to sell, but never say never. I have been following a wealth building plan for some time now, and with good income from various sources, an emergency fund for contingencies/emergencies, and investments other than Bitcoin, the likelihood of me being forced to sell is minimal, and I can't imagine what the specific situation would be where I might be forced to sell.
2119  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can We Consider This Casino An Industry Giant In Marketing Here In Bitcointalk on: December 22, 2022, 02:48:16 PM
$7230

How can Duelbits come out with a huge budget only here in Bitcointalk that other casinos cannot when Duelbits started operation on February 2020 can we also consider them the most profitable casino in the industry?

It's already been explained to you, but I'll put it another way: if they spend $7k on advertising it's because they get more than that $7k in deposits from advertising, probably a lot more.

A lot of people criticize the gambling section for spamming, but the huge amounts of money they move are a big part of the success of this forum. We must also take into account that the gambling houses have taken advantage of legal loopholes, although we have a tendency to more and more regulation and more KYC/AML, with which, the future trend I think is going to be at least that the returns obtained by the casinos are going to moderate.
2120  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to play poker with crypto ? on: December 22, 2022, 02:39:54 PM
I
I did not check recently but most probably blackjack.fun also have similar type of poker specialty but I could be very wrong about them. In any way, swcpoker should be the best destination to play poker with crypto.

Blackjack.fun? When I participated in the signature campaign, I registered on the site and played blackjack, but I don't remember any poker options at all. If there were, I would have played, and I don't think I missed it.

Yes that's I wanted to say, most of those casinos offer video poker games or live casino poker games against the house(a dealer). But they don't offer real PvP poker games and poker rooms.

That's not poker, then, as you can't play EV+.
