2741  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is viabtc transaction accelerator really working? on: March 09, 2018, 09:12:41 PM
I recently tried sending btc with small fee of like under 25 cents with electrum because i read transactions are fast now and because it showed within 5 blocks.  How long does it take for 5 blocks for btc to be sent from electrum to another site if it say within 5 blocks?

Within 6 blocks is 60 mins according to https://estimatefee.com but it's just an estimate, it could be faster or longer than that.

Also does viabtc accelerator work now for it and if so, can i do this anytime since i assume most ppl do not use it?

Yes most likely but there's no assurance that every tries will be accepted regardless of the time entered, at any rate you can just try in another hour if it fails.

Also is it the first link that shows up when you type in on google such as it looks like

pool.viabtc.com/tools/....

yes it's https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/
2742  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tip - cheapest way to withdraw from an exchange on: March 09, 2018, 08:29:05 PM
I've been wanting an overview of exchange's withdrawal fees and for a second I thought that it was finally answered but I noticed that the fees were in dollars which doesn't make sense since cryptocurrencies are volatile  Undecided

I just wanna add that crypto withdrawals are free on gdax although please note that only a few number of coins are there and not all countries are supported

Deposits and Withdrawals
Crypto Deposit: Free
Crypto Withdrawal: Free
2743  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there any way to recover sent/lost Alt Coins/Token on: March 09, 2018, 07:55:20 PM
Yeah I have confirmed that I have sent LHCOIN to their LHCOIN wallet and then checked that address on etherscan as well and it is showing LHCOIN on that address but it is not showing in pending or unconfirmed

If you're seeing a "Success" it means the tokens has already been sent (Like this) so the problem is on yobit's side and only their staffs will be able to help you. Sadly, you have to wait until you receive a response from them. You can try sending another ticket though.
2744  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: https://tidbit.store/ on: March 09, 2018, 07:44:16 PM
Let's see,

  • There's no reviews except this: http://bittrust.org/tidbit-store/0 but it doesn't matter as anyone can freely write a review anonymously, not credible.
  • Only bitcoin is accepted, no reversible payment methods were found. Here's the funny part though, at the checkout page--> payment method tab, they're claiming that they are offering an escrow using bit trust even though bit trust is not even providing any escrow service, it's just a site where you can freely post a review not to mention through this we can now assume that they're also the ones who are putting the positive reviews on the link above (bittrust).
  • This is copy pasted: (try searching them per sentence)

    About
TidbiT is a startup company founded in December 2013 by MIT students to use web based distributed computing to mine bitcoins. The meteoric rise in price has not only attracted bitcoin buyers, but also resulted in a surge of interest in digital currency mining. Because of high demand for cryptocurrency mining equipment, in early December 2017 we decided to start selling bitcoin mining equipment from several manufacturers.
  • They're not the actual tidbit, check the external links: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tidbit

Verdict: Stay away

Don't put your trust too much on scamadviser since you can just pay them to have your site displayed as a "high trust"
2745  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Legit & Scam Online Shops on: March 09, 2018, 06:36:36 PM
I just checked bitshopusa and they really seemed legit. They have good reviews and a huge plus is they have a reversible payment method.
The only thing I didn't like is they are only shipping on selected countries and their site is anonymous but then again it doesn't matter if you're gonna choose a reversible payment method.

You might also wanna check out https://www.antminerdistribution.com. They're also a reseller but based on EU. Here's they're VAT # NL - 858250470B01.
Where did you found the reversible payment? I tried to order from bitshopusa the payment methods are a credit card, bitpay/bitcoin, and bank wire/bank deposit. I think these list of payment option is not reversible.

And it's still not safe to sacrifice even they have reversible payment because the price of mining equipment is expensive.

For me, it's still the best to buy directly to bitmain.com just to be safe than ordering a miner in other websites.

There are many phishing websites nowadays so safety should your priority.

Credit cards are reversible  Wink

Yes yes bitmain is still the safest but I don't think that there will be no risk in buying there as it will always exist no matter where you will buy IMO. Read the reviews about them, it's full of delayed shipments, defective items, poor customer support etc.. which can be a reason why some people might look for a reseller.
2746  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can I shut down Electrum immediately after clicking the Send button? on: March 08, 2018, 03:41:14 PM
Electrum has a slider that sets how long do you want to wait for your transaction to confirm, the more right the slider goes the faster the transaction will receive confirmation, and vice versa.

I am using version 3.1.0 and I am unable to locate the slider that you mentioned. The only slider that I see is under Send --> Fee. It is currently showing 2 sat/byte. If I move it to the extreme left, it shows 1 sat/byte. Is this the slider that you are referring to?

Yes most likely.

RBF (Replace By Fee) is a feature used if your transaction fee are too low.
Essentially it will use some of the coins that you have sent as transaction fee.

No, I cannot afford to have Electrum deduct transaction fees from the coins that I send simply because it means the recipient - usually a vendor - will not receive full payment.

The amount you originally sent won't change so the receiver will still receive it in full. I suggest reading this: CLICK ME (Ctrl+F --> "Opt-in Replace-by-fee")

Please note that if your transaction is not flagged as "replaceable" you will not be able to use this feature. You can check it here: https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC
2747  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Was robbed on: March 08, 2018, 01:56:04 PM
I can't exactly pinpoint what is the problem although I could think of two:

a). If this is about an unconfirmed transaction, just use viabtc or post your transaction hash here.

b). If the funds were already "confirmed" in an unknown address, then yes your wallet is compromised consider buying a hardware wallet e.g. ledger, trezor.
2748  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How on earth did I incur such high transaction fees? on: March 07, 2018, 05:23:57 PM
Fees are based on the transaction's size and the current mempool condition. If you see here: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#1,2h, you'll know that there's hardly anything on it so fee's shouldn't be that high.

The problem must have been with electrum's fee estimation. Go to preferences --> Fee Estimation --> Mempool

Or you can also check these guides and enter fees manually

2749  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for merit points in any way? on: March 07, 2018, 04:56:50 PM
If Vod has tagged you then I don't think you can do much about it. I doubt that he will reconsider if you ask him to.

It's because there is no valid alibi for copying someone else's work. Most of them says that they didn't know it was wrong but how could they not heard the word "plagiarism"? How could they not know that stealing is wrong? lol are they 12?

Also I know this is circumstantial but normally you have no reason to copy/paste without crediting unless you are after account rankings/merits.

You have 2 options OP:

  • Try to ask Vod if he can review your account after 30 days or so to see if you really did change (I'm not sure about this)
  • Just make a new account and start over
2750  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My merit give away is 5 points qhat to do if its gone? on: March 07, 2018, 10:42:28 AM
Are you talking about sMerits (sendable)? If so then obviously you won't be able to merit posts since you have used it all. Currently, the only way to gain sMerits is when a user merits your post(s), half of it will be sendable.

I'm guessing that you haven't read this thread yet? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0
2751  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bounty ???? on: March 07, 2018, 07:13:05 AM
They were only banned on facebook's paid ads so it shouldn't affect facebook bounties.

You can join multiple facebook, twitter campaigns etc... at the same time but obviously not signature campaign since you only have a single signature space and modifying it is prohibited (This rule is mainly use in all sig camps).
2752  Economy / Exchanges / Re: My Binance Account got HACKED!! on: March 07, 2018, 06:49:27 AM
Binance won't refund you unless you have proven that the security flaw is on their side, same thing with the FBI and your local PD most likely don't know a thing about cryptocurrency lol.

There must have been a security flaw on your side so think back and analyze what might have created a flaw e.g. check your history if you logged in to the right site.

Sounds exactly the same problem: https://www.reddit.com/r/BinanceExchange/comments/7w3hm2/binance_account_hacked_is_there_anything_i_can_do/

Quote from: Arthur1988
PLEASE BEWARE. DONT KEEP COINS ON BINANCE! I used to think it was safe but i literally just lost almost 500,000 dollars and nobody is doing anything about it.

This actually applies on every exchanges, No coins should be kept for a long time.

2754  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: List of Campaign Managers Latest Post(Sig & Twitter Campaign) for Bounty Hunter on: March 05, 2018, 11:16:42 AM
You could try adding a changelog for this because it's a little spammy if you will post every change you made.

Have a look at the changelog on this thread: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 15-Feb-2018]

And also, the way you divide your list is kinda off (or is it just me?? lol) since the managers listed on "Twitter Campaign" (some of them) also does signature.

Try searching first before asking.

2756  Economy / Marketplace / Re: my friend have my user and password and my passport scan on: March 05, 2018, 08:01:41 AM
This should answer your question. I got this from bittrex support articles.

If you have two-factor enabled, you will need to enter your 6 digit code and press Confirm. If you do not have two-factor enabled you will need to login to your email account and click the verification link we send you.

But why does your "friend" has your login credentials and a scan of your passport in the first place? No matter how trusted he is, you shouldn't give such data to him, you should now change your password and activate your 2fa (If you haven't) but please note that since he has your passport scan he can still impersonate you in some sites.
2757  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Alternatives to Blockchain.info? on: March 05, 2018, 02:52:44 AM
....
I often see him promoting his referral links here so as expected when I quoted his reply, I found another referral link. Don't worry those are just empty words used to lure users into his referral link. I bet he's not gonna promote if it doesn't offer any referral commissions.

i would say the exactly same thinkn when there is no refferal program !
iam still using this page since 4 years and he has a great alexa rank ways better then most other online walleds!
freebitcoin has same trafic as blockchain.info so for me its a good option!

Your words are empty to me until proven. Looking at your trust history, it seems you've already promoted a couple of ponzi's and as expected you are also in SMAS blacklist (I'm surprised you're on yahoo's campaign though)

And traffic has nothing to do with a wallet's security.
2758  Economy / Exchanges / Re: -50℅ from withdrawal fees on binance on: March 04, 2018, 01:11:35 AM
I bet It will not be permanent though, since as soon as the mempool gets congested again, they will have no choice but to increase their withdrawal fee again unless they want their users to bombard them with delayed withdrawal complaints.

And honestly, they should have done this sooner as its been so long since the mempool go into a state where it's nearly empty so fees should be obviously lower. Nevertheless, its still a good news.

2760  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: All beginners - Be careful of this new Scam method on: March 03, 2018, 04:45:08 PM
Scammer's don't stop, they just change their methods meanwhile, people who are easy to trick and doesn't bother searching (or thinking??) will always exist so stopping this is nothing but a dream.

Sometimes the best way of learning is to learn from your mistakes, to actually experience it so let's just let them learn the hard way I mean there's already a lot of articles out there all they need is to "search" and in fact I often see this in twitter and a lot of people are actually replying that "it is a scam"
