1981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first attempt at bitcoin art on: June 11, 2019, 07:44:45 PM
I don't think it is art, at least for me. It falls on the "meme" category a lot more than art especially with the "what you see" format (What People Think I Do / What I Really Do) and the fact that most of the materials used are not made by you.

What determines the output amount though?

Whenever someone sends you X amount of bitcoin, that exact amount becomes a single UTXO which stands for Unspent Transaction Output-- coins that are yet to be spent

So suppose address ABC receives bitcoin every week,

week 1 - .01
week 2 - .02
week 3 - .001
week 4 - .005

after week 4, it now has a total of .036BTC which is composed of 4 UTXOs.

Oh yes, the first bot response asked for that, which I provided. Since then nothing has happened and I have repeated at least 8 more attempts with no response. I am not new and have used the wallet with no problems before. My funds are in the wallet and fluctuates with the price of Bitcoins. I have been all over their web site and it doesn't work properly.

Are you talking about the bot in emails? did it ask for the whole backup sheet? 👀

so just to be clear, did you use the recovery tool mentioned in the article I've given? If so and it did not work, did it show any error message? what happens when you use a diff browser? with freshly cleared cache and cookies.

Address ...quksc7l is what you call a change address which as the name states, is where the change goes. If you spent $5 to buy something worth $1, you have a change of $4 right?

What basically happened is the transaction used an output of 0.20101917BTC (qsrl8e4) to send you 0.15591600BTC (...K4vbcDs) + fees included. The remainder 0.04507206BTC then goes to ....quksc7l which is sender's change address.

Well uhh if we go by its definition, yeahh BCT counts as social media (but I'm not gonna lie I personally don't want forums to be lump with them LMAO 🏃🏃🏃)

But I guess what sets them apart is its focus since you can still socialize in forums and discuss on Facebook and the likes

forums (e.g. BCT) = discussion-centric
FB, twitter and the likes = social-centric
1986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stores that accept bitcoin as a payment on: June 07, 2019, 11:44:45 PM
What you see in 2-3 recent articles about this is probably all there is since if it's considered common, it must be a big name which is least likely to miss.

The usual workaround for this is gift cards (check bitrefill, gyft & egifter[US],) and bitcoin debit cards. I don't recommend the latter as it is in a bad position rn with all the kyc and the lack of countries whose ppl are eligible to avail it.
1987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: i been hacked ? on: June 07, 2019, 10:48:24 PM
That's indeed sad but at least you're able to reduce your loss.

Web wallets are the least safe place to store your funds and the extra layer of security won't help much in mitigating its risks. Moving to a much safer wallet would be a good start.

And yes, hardware wallet is a good choice op, I personally use it as my main wallet. Here is a list to choose from: https://bitcoin.org/en/wallets/hardware/
Lastly is, we control our coins and we are responsible for taking security measures to keep it safe so I suggest reading this Securing your wallet

Do you have your backup sheet with you? If yes, try this: How do I recover my wallet using the backup PDF?

Also, take a look at their ann thread (check recent pages), really terrible support making their users wait that long.: BTC.com Bitcoin & Bitcoin Cash WALLET | Mobile & Web | Secure & trusted.

Does it enforce KYC or mobile verification for Crypto to Crypto trade?

Read: https://www.zb.com/help/guides/2/26

The second photo says everyone is required to undergo identity verification which includes an ID and a selfie with it.

I'm not sure if the site also caters international ppl but even if they do, I don't think it would appeal to a significant number of them hence why a place dedicated for ppl who speak the language would be a better choice to look for reviews, ofc you'd need to be able to speak their language too. The same also goes for searching already written user reviews as most are probably not written in english.

The site has Chinese letters, which led me to think that it is a Chinese site. but also has this:

Registrant Street: 14455 N. Hayden Road
Registrant City: Scottsdale
Registrant State/Province: Arizona
Registrant Postal Code: 85260
Registrant Country: US

site is registered privately so that's only a proxy address.
1990  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help - em.escrowmen.com/Escrow service on: June 06, 2019, 10:00:07 PM
No sufficient user reviews found, it's also new, anonymous (whois link) and the site literally is just a stock photo with a way to log in and register. Doesn't seem to be trustable which every escrow service/agents should posses.

Be careful op, it's very possible that the seller and the escrow are just the same person or in the same team scheming to scam you.

1991  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Follow these rules and your bitcoin will be SAFE! on: June 06, 2019, 12:38:39 AM
It really is beautiful but I would only recommend it as a refresher as what you need to know is more than that. That being said, if you're reading this and still haven't grasped the bitcoin basics + coins safekeeping, doitdoitdoit.

Are you affiliated with the site and promoting it as well? Just confused because it's different on what you have on your sig and profile itself. I see that the source of the infographics is all about Security.

Op most likely found it on Reddit and decided to repost.
1992  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Blockchain and crypto books for crypto on: June 05, 2019, 11:02:11 PM
Too broad, it would depend on the title. I mean, I use cryptocoins but it doesn't mean I would jump in everything that relates to it, consider me intrigued tho.

How are you going to obtain it tho? 👀 and are we talking about ebooks or physical copies?
1993  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mysteriously received btc then disappeared on: June 05, 2019, 08:23:25 PM
Try this: How do I Fix My Wallet if it is showing the Wrong Balance and/or Transaction History?

If nothing happens, go to your wallet addresses and paste all the recent ones on any block explorer (blockchair, btc.com, etc..) to manually check if you really did receive the coins or if it still sits in an address you control of. Note that I'm assuming bitpay lets you view every used address with or without funds, if it does you should see an address with 0.

If confirmed, you can restore the wallet in electrum through seed (12-word) (don't forget to tick the bip39 box): Restoring your standard wallet from seed.
1994  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Places to purchase victoria secret giftcards with crypto? on: June 01, 2019, 02:00:43 PM
If you live in the US, then try here: https://www.gyft.com/buy-gift-cards/victorias-secret/
And uh, it seems to require registration, tho it shouldn't be that much of a problem.

Another way is to get a trusted member to buy it for you, and then you pay them with bitcoin.
1995  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Sending BTC from Gambling Site to Binance? on: May 30, 2019, 09:28:07 PM
Hmm... I just read your old thread about this: Withdrawing BTC From Gambling Sites Directly Into Bittrex/Binance an Issue?

It's been said there's nothing about it in their ToS many times and you've already tried it yourself, why are you still so conflicted about this?

Hey all.  I believe i have had btc sent from a gambling site to binance without an issue.

or did you encounter problem(s) after this^?

1996  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Vircurex appears not to be dead - and devs are trying to return frozen funds on: May 29, 2019, 04:49:25 AM
So has anyone been able to access this website in the past several months? It appears to be down and no discussion on Reddit about it...

https://www.reddit.com/r/Vircurex/

Welp. My last visit was 6 months ago

I'm getting a 502 on vircurex.com now. I think it's gone.
Checked it and I'm getting the same error

Pretty sure they're long gone, and honestly it was barely hanging even when the site was still up.

Are you perhaps one of the users who have funds there?
1997  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: problem with https://bitcoinwisdom.com/ on: May 29, 2019, 03:21:45 AM
Mjglqw is probably talking about this: Anyone knows whats going on with Bitcoinwisdom?. Figured it's worth the read considering that other users brought up some alternatives that could better suit your needs.
1998  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitCloak Mixer - Important Feature Proposal: Blacklist Addresses on: May 29, 2019, 02:46:06 AM
So you're saying the authorities will be satisfied with just giving what to block and the mixer's confirmation that they've done it? sounds too good to be true tbh knowing that ppl who want to use it for illicit activities could still bridge those blockings.
1999  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [2xHR] Trading Competition - Profits recorded as part of the platform's debt on: May 28, 2019, 03:22:23 PM
All of this relies on trust tho... so you should at least establish that you're trustable. From the looks of it, exchange is still new, doesn't have sufficient reviews and has an unknown team. To bridge those, I suggest providing transparency. Are you guys a registered business tho? there's nothing about kyc to regular traders

How's the promotion going? I mean, there should be something else that draws you clients to make sure you'll be able to pay the "debt". Also, the site is terrible, you should work on that first.
2000  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Worst Online Crypto Wallet Ever! [Poll] on: May 28, 2019, 01:40:28 PM
I voted for Xapo without any doubts. It's just terrible. First, they have fees for incoming small transactions, what is ridiculous.

localbitcoins does this as well. tbh, i suppose it makes some sense as a hosted wallet provider. users probably inundate their wallet with small unspendable outputs and they need additional fees to sweep these outputs in order to let customers spend them.
Quite understandable for Localbitcoin's case but this shouldn't be happening for a wallet

Not really, xapo is more than just a wallet, it is a hosted one and is essentially a business-- it needs to profit.

What I hate about xapo is how they work like exchanges with all the blocking, extreme kyc and most of all, the terrible support. Wait until the peak times arrived when there's a shit ton of clients using them, you'll see the worst side of all the wallets listed here, if not all, most.
