281  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Achieving a goal on: January 09, 2024, 09:27:17 PM
Trading can give us bigger profits but the process is harder and riskier, and with a single mistake, you will end up ruining all your funds instantly that’s why never trade when you think you are not ready to risk your money and you don’t have sufficient skills to trade.

However, investing and long term hodling can also give you decent profits but the waiting time to profit is longer as it could take years before you can see possible profits. Patience is a must so if you think you’re not that highly patient, then never enter investing and long term hodling because you will only lose your money since you can’t stand the pressure of market volatility.
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: January 09, 2024, 08:46:14 AM
It's a very difficult thing to become a millionaire from the casino and I think that even with sports betting with parlay bets, it is not certain that the team chosen will finish according to the prediction he set.
When you talk about parlay, you know you'll only win it with luck, without it, it's not gonna happen.
However, since parlay offers a slim chance of winning, then expect that you have to be so lucky to win, as only few will experience a win, especially with a huge payout like x1000.

I've actually found gamblers who get 1000x the profit from gambling from their total deposit, so they can buy cars and other luxurious things, but it goes a week or two weeks that the item is no longer in his possession that he does not have a house to live in because it is sold to do gambling, and it happens that he wants the same luck back from gambling, and hopes for the hope of becoming a millionaire again. Undecided

The guy got beaten up by the system, you know, casinos win in the long run, so as long as that winner you knew will continue to gamble, eventually he'll lose his money, it's just a matter of time. And it will be shorten as he gets more aggressive.
283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: January 09, 2024, 08:07:04 AM
So this season or conference, I think it will be only among the 3, Ginebra, SMB, and Meralco. However, if Fajardo will come back, it will be a different story as he is a problem in the paint, in addition, SMB's import are impressive on his first game with 51 points.

You forgot to mention the Magnolia Hotspots who is currently the number 1 in standing.

Actually, 3 (SMB teams) and 1 (MVP team) only that will reach to the semis, if Meralco will advance in the Finals, this would make a finals more interesting. And to make the PBA to generate more money again, most likely Ginebra will advance, I don't know how they'll do it, but if JMF isn't 100%, that could happen.

Magnolia is good though, no underestimating them but they don't attract the crowd, it's only Ginebra that could help the PBA to make big money during the Finals.
284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin investment is kind on: January 08, 2024, 11:36:27 PM
You should consider using the Bitcoin Lightning Network for payments, because it is much faster than Blockchain transactions at the moment.

Also consider offering some kind of discount to people, if they are willing to pay with Bitcoin to incentivize the adoption of Bitcoin. (Example 15% off for people paying with Bitcoin)
I would also advise the same, use Bitcoin Lightning Network for instant payments plus lower transaction fees compared to what we experienced using Blockchain transactions. That way, users will feel more convenient to pay bitcoin.

However, having discounts is a good option but it should also be limited. Let’s say the first 20-30 customers per day will get a 15% off so that everyone will be encourage to buy at your shop using bitcoin payment.
285  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some tips to help protect yourself from crypto scam on: January 06, 2024, 07:41:03 PM
The last tip has the most appeal to me. No need to rush, always take your time to gain knowledge about how to secure your crypto and protect them from all types of scam. Unplanned decisions will only put you into a worst situation, such as making you fall for the scammer’s trap since your greed is bigger than your own knowledge in crypto.

A lot of crypto investors who end up in failure are those whose actions and decisions are motivated by greed, thus if you want to stay safe and protected at all times, follow the basics and get rid of greed.
286  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just a reminder. Don't lose yourself in the process. on: January 06, 2024, 07:09:59 PM
This is the world we live in now. Money is more important than everything else. I wish it wasn’t but this system forces you to be like that. And there is no end to this fucking rat race. I know people who have a few million dollars net worth and they still work like a mad man. They just can’t have enough of it but most importantly they can’t say “enough”. They can’t quit their job/business and enjoy their wealth. They work endlessly till they wear out and when they do, it is all over. All those work for nothing. They spend their last days in a hospital room waiting to die. Sometimes less is more.
Yes, it’s the reality but we know definitely that it won’t be good for us in the long run. It’s better to still live in balance, give enough time to work to earn, and do not forget to rest for a while and enjoy your current life. That’s how it should be, but unfortunately people focus more on earning money and never get contented and still find other means for additional income, until the body decides to quit and end up stop working on its own.

Although it’s a requirement for us to work and earn adequate income, but we all know there’s no enough for us. We still work hard no matter what, even in times that we’re supposed to rest and enjoy what we’ve got.
287  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Im looking for funded traders to trade with my capital on: January 06, 2024, 04:50:47 PM
This is the most effective strategy to attract scammers since you chose to announce it than to find pro traders in silence. Just expect after that there will be numerous self-claimed professional traders who will try to deceive you so you can entrust to them your funds. If you are not wise enough, you will end up falling on their trap and certainly get scammed.

However, my point is if you think trading is profitable, then you should learn it as well. You have all the funds and resources to trade, you just need to find confidence in yourself to start learning trading so you can grow your funds while maximizing your trading profits.
288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone just sent 26 BTC to genesis block address on: January 06, 2024, 03:48:41 PM
Someone, please wake me up,  26 bitcoins are quite a fortune to be burned just like that,  considering the current value of Bitcoin,  I suspect this could be an error transaction.

But if it is intentional,  I will say this should be the most ridiculous thing I had this year so far,  but the world needs that money instead of throwing it away forever,  we have so much hunger in the world and humans need money to buy basic needs why burn the money no matter what the state of your wealth.
Any hard-earned bitcoin or money is never meant to be burned, regardless of how much its value as long as the owner works hard for it, then it’s odd to consider burning bitcoin, unless if the transaction made becomes an erroneous one. And I’d say this is obviously not intentional either, 26 btc is certainly huge, no one would dare simply throwing it away without valid purpose.

Burning bitcoin in the past might not be an issue since the value is still absolutely low, but hey with its current value, anyone would be throwing even 1 btc is not on his proper thinking, except if the transaction goes wrong, then it’s hard to retrieve it again.
289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: January 06, 2024, 12:54:31 PM
Definitely, it will hurt his career. I don't know why Joshua would pick up a fight with Francis after seeing how he dealt with Fury's face. I really don't like this move because it will be another match loss for Joshua, who wants his boxing career to be resurrected back to the boxing field after losing his world heavyweight title to Usyk twice(2021 and 2022).
Joshua has a decent chance of winning this fight compared to fighting Fury or Usyk again which are legit champions. And those two are in a unification fight, so Joshua must have to be busy looking for a fight and this came on time. Most of you might be thinking that Ngannou will beat Joshua because the latter has a weak chip, but let's just watch and see as the gambling experts does not say the same.

And we can confim that on the betting odds.

Quote
Francis Ngannou vs Anthony Joshua Opening Odds
Francis Ngannou +125
Anthony Joshua -155
https://www.bjpenn.com/mma-news/francis-ngannou/opening-odds-released-for-francis-ngannou-vs-anthony-joshua/

Anyway, another man's downfall is a rise to the other. This is a win match for Francis against Joshual in my own opinion and it will help Francis's career in boxing since he left UFC for boxing.

That's for sure, but he has to win first. I hope he isn't hype because of what he did to Fury. This one is different though because Joshua sure gonna prepare hard for this.
290  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It will save your capital more than you can imagine on: January 05, 2024, 09:44:24 PM
Cutting your losses will create an advantage if you are trading using leverage, that is to limit your losses so you won't lose a huge amount that you can't afford losing. However, if you only trade just a small amount, I think cutting your losses is not that essential. You can trade and lose your small capital, and that's okay. You can still trade again when you're able and capable enough, as despite of your losses, you are also learning as well.
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We dont own enough bitcoin on: January 05, 2024, 09:11:22 PM
We don't own enough bitcoin but even in the future, if you keep thinking your bitcoin won't be enough, then you will lost control of other matters in your life because you are too focused on bitcoin which I think is already not good. Bitcoin is not all what it takes, and is not all what we need in life.

To be honest, bitcoin is just a portion of our life's happiness, we can still be happy even if we don't gain majority of it.
292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet on favorites early in the week & underdogs late in the week strategy... on: January 05, 2024, 01:02:31 PM
I usually bet on favorites, and when I'm very confident in my bet, I tend to place it early as soon as the line is available.

Based on what I've noticed, favorite lines often move as the game time approaches. For instance, if I bet on the favorite at -3.5, and the line moves to -4.5 nearing the game, it could mean I'm getting value. This adjustment could provide me with an additional point, which would be beneficial if the favorite only wins by 4. However, please do note that this strategy is not guaranteed to work all the time. There are instances when significant line movement only occurs due to a sudden announcement, such as a star player not playing for whatever reasons, or changing from a previously listed doubtful status to active. Such scenarios are typically outliers, making them special cases.
293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: January 05, 2024, 12:14:53 PM
Back to the ball game.

We have to games today, Blackwater vs NorthPort in the first game and ROS vs TNT in the second game.

The interesting game that i have in mind is the second game, TNT might be playing without an import so that ML odds is attractive for me.

We are wrong with our expectation, they are actually playing with an import and I can see on the boxscore now.

RHJ with 6 points already, 2nd to Oftana, so it's safe to assume that he is fully healthy in this game.
The odds seems telling us that TNT will be playing without an import as they were -2 before this game. I think I'm gonna take this chance to do some live betting action now and I will be betting on the TNT with 2.25 ML odds.

Edit : sorry, the new import is still RHJ, but he is a different guy, he is Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson the brother of the old import of TNT.
294  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Overview] Comprehensive list of Crypto Sportsbooks v2 (Updated) - New Poll - on: January 05, 2024, 04:35:56 AM
On the poll quetion that goes "Should I expand the list to add crypto sportsbooks that arent on bitcointalk??".. my vote was not necessary.

This forum has a wide list of sportsbook already, so I like to see only sportsbook that are listed here because they have their ANN thread and we can see their updates easily. Additionally, since for us feedback  is very important, with their account here, we will see how reputable they are as a casino or sportsbook.

I think your list will increase since for sure more sportsbook will come to the forum this year to gain exposure.
295  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Maybe future trade is gambling on: January 04, 2024, 09:48:16 PM
Futures trading is gambling if you lack the experience to make it work. But if you are a professional trader, futures trading will give you more chances to acquire profits because you have the knowledge and skills to make it work and happen.

However, for newbies who decide to resort into futures trading, the risk to lose is high compared to spot trading. My advise is, don’t rush into futures trading just because of its high promising profits but gain learning experience and skills first before you decide to take bigger risks when trading.
296  Economy / Economics / Re: Habits that can lead to your financial failure in 2024 on: January 04, 2024, 08:45:51 PM
I think the fear of failure or the fear to lose is a big issue when you aim for financial success in the future. It’s hard to see and gain profits without losing in the first place, as most those who are in the peak of success these days have experienced losing a lot before.

Having the fear to failure will certainly put limits to your own potentials to succeed in the future. So do not keep with this kind of mindset because that will obviously won’t help you in the long run.
297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: January 04, 2024, 07:05:04 AM
1% is still good enough to gamble if you are not an gambling addict.

I'm not a gambling addict mate but it's not good for me. I think we can only talk about percentage like that here if we are earning a significant amount of money, regardless on where it's coming from. Man, most of the gamblers I think are just in the middle class, so let's say the average they are making is only $500, 1% of $500 is only $5.... Does anyone here enjoy gambling with a budget of $5 per month?
298  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you want to see in casino reviews? on: January 04, 2024, 06:13:52 AM

there are also issues with casinos creating paid review campaigns. I don't think it's bad, but there will be more participants who don't actually speak the truth and only leave positive reviews regarding casinos to get paid.
although I'm sure not all review campaign participants are like that, there will still be more of them who review the good without seeing the shortcomings of the casino. but I'm sure the intended review campaign certainly wants to get more input and suggestions from casino users. whether it's paid or not. The most important thing is that all participants can speak honestly.

No gambling site would run a review campaign reading negative comments from reviewers. Maybe those that are constructive criticisms could be acceptable, but anything that are destroying the reputation of the business is not good. Although it might not be written in the rules but it's already understood that once you are hired, your review must have content that will help the company to grow.

I think this is the only very brave website that despite knowing they have a bad reputation in the forum, probably outside too, they still run an honest review campain .

1xbit.com honest review campaign (open) (This is closed now, but thread wasn't updated)
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin stability important? on: January 03, 2024, 09:59:40 PM
I guess Bitcoin volatility is more important rather than bitcoin stability. We don't want to see bitcoin price stops surging high just to encourage stability on its price. Hence, the more volatility, the bigger chances that bitcoin price will reach new all time high every year. However, stability can only happen if bitcoin stops being volatile, which means it's price will never be susceptible anymore to price change or increase.
300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 03, 2024, 01:42:00 PM
Happy New Year everyone!!

Just missed some bets this start of the year but it's all good.

Gonna be a good game between the Bucks and the Pacers again, seems this two have build up their rivalry already, so I will go with the underdog in Pacers at home currently @2.34 ML. And then OKC @1.81 against the Hawks ML as well. Just want to bet early so that in any case I stuck up later, my bets is already in although I could fall on the last minute changes as far those who are going to play or not.

Great decision picking the Pacers on their home court. On the last 3 games they played, it was on the home court of Bucks, and Indiana won of them, so playing at home infront of a huge crowd, this should inspire them more. I am gonna tail with you on this pick mate. About the OKC, I think I'll pass, I just bet bigger on Indiana, and this is just probably my bet for tomorrow.
