1221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: March 03, 2023, 09:07:53 AM
Yes it's going to be a war between them based on their style what I like between these two is there are no thrash talks involved, and they both have respect for each other I'm looking forward to their weigh-in and last Face off before fighting in the ring, I like Magsayo to win I read that he is the underdog but I bet against my cousin that Magsayo will win via stoppage, so I'm hoping to get an extra buck this weekend.

Figueroa, doing a debut in the 126 lbs is hungry for the title. On the other hand, Magsayo that previously holds the title which he lost to Vargas wants to take back the title again which he got in a tough way when he faced Gary Russell Jr.

Really expect a war as both boxers want the title and nothing else. To be able to achieve that title they need to win to face Rey Vargas. I want to see Magsayo win the fight so he will get a chance for a rematch against Rey Vargas. If he didn't beat Figueroa here, he's nothing compared to Vargas.

Yes, but it's more on Magsayo's side, the pressure on him is big at this fight, if he will lost here, gonna be back to back for him, same for Brandon but at least he can go back to 122 lbs if he wants to.

So it's war and there are news that Magsayo's camp says that someone is going to be knockout in this fight.

But they say it's not Mark, so they are looking for a huge win here by a knockout.

Obviously, it's not him because it's coming from his camp. Well, if that's the case, then we should expect him to be very aggressive and try to end this fight early. A knockout win would be a great comeback for him, as fans are slowly forgetting him. This is normal because he is not a champion anymore.

Magsayo hasn't shown the skills of a real champion. I don't know if he has already improved, but this is a good fight for us to determine if he has. He will be battling a good fighter who is also the favorite to win this fight.
1222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 03, 2023, 07:43:14 AM

How about the Warriors as well switching gear in the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Clippers 42-16 and then somewhat let go of the pedal but still a decent win in the 4th, 28-19. And so the Clippers is still win less when the acquire Westbrook.

Even without Curry, the Warriors are still a tough team. Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole led the Warriors to a big win. The second half belonged to the Warriors as they dominated the Clippers with their efficient shooting. The big news is that the curse continues: Westbrook is now officially 0-4 after joining the Clippers.
And that shooting on the 3rd quarter though, Poole was hot and so is Klay Thompson and then every one want a piece of the the 3 point, so they contributed hitting it from the outside.

They also played good defense in the last 2 quarters, forcing turnovers. Even Kawhi can't post up with a small guard on him. On the other hand, if I'm not mistaken, there were 2 steals from Russ, so yeah, 0-4 for him as a Clipper.

Russ might be playing in the second unit because the team's strategy doesn't seem to be effective anymore. It was a tough loss for the Lakers because they started well but were fully dominated in the second half. The Clippers were blown out by a Curry-less Warriors. They need to reflect on what happened and analyze what went wrong.

Not to add more salt in the wounds for the Clippers, but they went to 4th seed to now 7th seed when they add Russell Westbrook to the team.

I think Mann, Norman Powell and to some extend Hyland and Covington has lost in the rotation already because Russ is taking the brunt of their time in the floor. And so far, it really hurts the Clippers, because even if there is no Steph Curry, they lost with a huge gap. They enough gave him enough space to take that shoot but Russ are not going to take that bait.

Yes, what we are saying here is based on our observation and it's painful to admit, but the truth is that if the team doesn't take immediate action, they might miss the playoffs. Westbrook is a talented player, but if he doesn't fit well into their system, there will be a huge chemistry problem, and that's what we are seeing it now.

1224  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is your profit taking strategy? on: March 02, 2023, 09:29:12 PM
Just wondering what everyone else does when it comes to taking profits?
Ive failed on taking much profit last bull run so my goal now is typically hold my major alts and btc and stake some of my stakeable asset while waiting for target price to sell. Its really a hard discipline if you are a long term holder, but I am sometimes cashing out my asset if I need some extra funds for my leisure and trips. Or if needed emergency money.
As long as you never sell for unreasonable basis, I think you are still profiting from it on the other part. But if you want to accumulate maximum profits, then stay focused on bitcoin and major altcoins as they can be highly profitable if they are hold long term. And only sell then when bull run comes which means time to reap what  we have invested long term.
1225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake Loses $400K Bitcoin Bet on Jake Paul’s Bout on: March 02, 2023, 06:58:21 PM
Just bet what you can afford to lose this should be the lesson. This is not new for Drake; he already lost a lot of money gambling previously, which for sure he is okay with as we know that he is rich and he can recover it in no time. For sure, he is again included in the promotions, so he has a cut of their earnings also. He will for sure bet for promotional purposes as well as to win money for the upcoming celebrity boxing matches.
I guess Drake would not gamble more than he can afford it losing, so I would say it’s all in his plan. If he wins, he will gain bigger profits, but if he lose, the amount is just very small compared to his net worth every month so he won’t regret it for sure. And besides, this is not the first time he has lose huge amount from sportsbetting, so it’s actually not an issue for him. As long as he can manage all his losses, I think that’s the only thing important there so he won’t live life regretting in the end.
1226  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading addiction, are you coping? on: March 02, 2023, 06:40:11 PM
Any venture that has the word "addiction" attached to it, is never a good one. If you check carefully, you will see that the individual's physical and mental health, social and personal life, and relationships are affected, either directly or indirectly. Anyone who is addicted to trading despite having losses is just chasing losses. There is no professional trader that I know who has been very successful with trading who wouldn't advise beginners on the need to maintain a balance.
Everything that is done abused always create a negative motivation that will lead into an addiction. And with addiction, everything will be affected especially if you keep ignoring it and instead, continue to chase more profits so you can benefit them more. However, with trading addiction, it can be more manageable because you can actually stop trading if you have no funds to start it with. Therefore, being addicted into trading is probably more on seasonal that you can anytime stop your addiction if the market too is not allowing you to be profitable.
1227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your reason for accepting bitcoin as a payment? on: March 02, 2023, 06:14:14 PM
too many reasons if we think about it, but what I often think is they accept bitcoin or cryptocurrency to expand their market, and make their payments easier. You know that it's quite difficult to make transactions if your target is international. bitcoin or altcoins will make that transaction easier. however, its other goals are also to increase profits, as well as accumulating assets while doing business.
It could be true, aside from promoting bitcoin into the people so they will also know how beneficial bitcoin will be. Through bitcoin payment method, the transaction becomes more fast and more convenient compared in fiat. Also, you are accepting bitcoin so you can grow your portfolio as well and keep them hodling until their value reaches its high peak.
1228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 02, 2023, 10:56:24 AM
That was a huge win! I must say you were so lucky with that bet. The second half really helped you in achieving that total. The game looked like a three-point shooting competition, as the defense was not tight, especially for the DYIP.

Wow, I think I will have to follow your tip for the second game. Good luck to us!

I'm also looking for a great timing in live betting. Who knows? I could be lucky and get high odds.
1229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: March 02, 2023, 09:44:06 AM

I didn't think that the odds for a KO and decision for Magsayo are that high.

Both the KO and decision odds are high, which I like. I have to admit I'm a little biased here, but even though he is an underdog, this boxer has only lost once in his career. It's a redemption fight for him, so I expect him to be more aggressive and try to look for a KO. With that said, I'm taking Magsayo to win via KO/TKO.
1230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Neither Good or Bad on: March 01, 2023, 09:49:37 PM
Gambling is a bad habit especially if you are overdoing it. That is a known fact. We don’t need to have a debate over this. However, by playing responsibly you can minimize the bad effects of gambling in your life. Playing responsibly means that you shouldn’t lose your control. You can bet a hundred times in one day and still be a responsible gambler as long as you don’t wager too much.

If gambling makes you forget about the bad stuff you have in your life then you might even consider it a good thing. But like I said, you should play responsibly otherwise gambling will be just another problem for you to fix.
Right. Gambling is good if you are doing it the right thing, and seeing it as an entertainment purposes rather than making it as a living. But if you gamble more than you can afford to lose and spend all your life savings to chase more profits, that is gambling irresponsibly which will eventually lead you into a lot of losses and find yourself gambling addicted in the end. So be responsible if you don’t want to end up like this.
1231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin by selling wife's jewelry on: March 01, 2023, 09:22:40 PM

We know gold is very precious metal, but Bitcoin is much more expensive than gold. Bitcoin will cross $100k after halving in 2024 ie if I invest $3000 in Bitcoin now then there is a chance of getting 10x after 2024. If I get $30000 from investing $3000, nothing can be as valuable as Bitcoin. I explained this formula to my wife at night and she was not willing to give me her jewelery at first but today she told me by herself that you can sell my jewelery and invest in Bitcoin. At present I am forced to sell my wife's jewelery as I have no fiat money.
I seek advice from expert investors/holders/users of this forum,,,,
whether selling my wife's jewelery and investing on bitcoins makes sense?
Is it reasonable to invest in gold rather than bitcoin?
You don’t have to chose in the first place as both investments will be more profitable in the future. Invest on both so you can gain more profits in the next months and years. However, knowing bitcoin is highly volatile, then you should invest on it at your own risk. Selling your wife’s jewelry will only bring a lot of risks, and you might only lose them if bitcoin value do not reach your expected price. Bitcoin is a good investment, but it does not give an assurance that you won’t be experiencing losses as well.
1232  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Set your mind on your goals and nothing else on: March 01, 2023, 08:55:05 PM
Trading in general — regardless if cryptocurrency trading or not, is such a difficult path to take that you really can't blame people for being skeptical/cautious. Long-term success rates are staggeringly bad that you're better off doing something else instead.

Assuming you're telling a true story of you doing well, don't get too cocky — because not because you did well in the past, doesn't automatically you're going to do well in the long-term.
And to think that trading is not for everyone seeing how hard it is, then you can’t put your shoe on to them and blame them for being unsupportive. Just be grateful that you succeed and live a comfortable life right now. But then again, no matter how good you are in trading, that won’t guarantee that you are excuse from losing. You can be profitable today, but maybe tomorrow you will also suffer from a great loss, that’s why trading is somewhat like gambling, it’s never a win-win all the time.
1233  Economy / Economics / Re: Would You Consider Adding Bitcoin to Your Retirement Savings on: March 01, 2023, 08:24:18 PM
Yep,I will love to add bitcoin to my retirement savings but just 10%. It is total wrong to believe in bitcoin for your retirement savings because you can be disappointed at old age due to the volatile nature of bitcoin, because nobody knows tomorrow.

I would prefer the old tradition way for retirement savings. If you are working in a good company and you are been paid,it is good that you split the money and invest it in other valuable assets, so that you don't lay all your eggs in one basket, because it can bring regrets to you at old age. Saving in bitcoin is a good initiative but don't put all your hope in it.
Exactly my point too. You cannot risk all your hard-earned savings into bitcoin and solely rely on it for your retirement. The volatility is so high that once your expectations are not met, you may end up dying with regrets. However, putting 10%-15% of your fiat into bitcoin is not bad at all. It could mean a very huge profits by then once bitcoin reaches its peak price. But if bitcoin value fails in the end, I would say it’s not a loss either since you only invest on the amount you can afford to lose.
1234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time is the most valuable thing on: February 28, 2023, 09:38:13 PM
It's a great point you've made about free time, op. I keep reminding myself of that as well. That's why I don't overwork myself and try to ensure I spend time with the people I truly care about, doing things together, instead of working even more. And Bitcoin also contributes in a way to that. Thankfully, I currently have the privilege of choosing jobs and activities, focusing on those I enjoy and am most comfortable with. And I completely agree that it's important to have a fulfilling life, otherwise it's useless suffering.
Time is so valuable, that’s why we have to live it productively and on our own advantage. And over hardworking will not make it happen. It will only make our life tiring and become stressful instead. That was me years ago, but bitcoin changed my life. Now, I don’t have to struggle to spend quality time with my family since I am already working at the comfort of my home. With bitcoin, you can be your own boss, and you can have all the opportunities to do what makes you happy, and that is to enjoy most of my time spending with my family while making a living.
1235  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Share Tips For Newbie Traders on: February 27, 2023, 09:58:59 PM
If you are an experienced trader reading this, how did you know that you were not wasting your time trading at the time when you felt this way?
My trading passion will always make me feel as if everything I do is correct; I will never consider it a waste of time.
Determination always leads to success, so spending the entire day studying and trading will never be a waste of time for me because, in the end, I will smile when I see the profit I made during that time period.
As an experienced trader, trading with knowledge and skills will mostly end up being successful and profitable, so i don’t see it a waste of time knowing it can guarantee profits as long as you do the right trades. And the fact that you are doing what your passion tells you, that’s something worthy of our time and is always worth doing. Especially if you do it with high determination and perseverance, the outcome will always be high-yielding and is something that we can somehow be proud of.
1236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 25, 2023, 12:10:58 PM
By the way, PBA will resume today we have 2 games.

1st game Bossing vs Northport
2nd game  NLEX vs Rain or Shine.
These are the odds for both games:

With that odds, I guess the NLEX-ROS has the most attractive odds currently. I don't see Blackwater winning against NorthPort as well, but the odds aren't that attractive. On the 2nd game, both teams lost in their previous games. With the inconsistency of the NLEX's import, I'm thinking that the ROS has a chance to beat them. NLEX only won 1 of their last 4 games since they changed their import, and that win is a close one and they almost lost as well. If you want to make a bit of a risk, you might want to bet on the ROS on this one. Cheesy.

Good luck to us bettors. Smiley

The NLEX-ROS game was supposed to be a close one, but it turned out to be a one-sided beatdown. The first half is over, and NLEX has a huge advantage of 27 points. Maybe ROS will have a good second half, but coming back from a 27-point deficit is very hard. Therefore, I believe that NLEX will get this win.

If you're still interested in betting on ROS, you can take them at +21.5. That's quite attractive, as we know the PBA would do everything to make it an entertaining game. For a game to be entertaining, ROS needs to have a strong second half, so it will somehow excite the fans.
1237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: February 25, 2023, 11:31:50 AM
A prime Spence with speed and a power punch combination, it's a tough opponent to beat,
that last look at how Spence played with Ugas. That is something that Thurman needs to
work and analyze on how to counter and how to beat.

Ugas is just a one-dimensional fighter. He doesn't have the quickness, which is why he relies too much on his length. But Spence was able to make the right strategy to beat him, and that's why Ugas looked like an amateur in that fight. In my opinion, it will not happen to Thurman. I believe if Thurman loses, it will be a close fight and most likely will go to the judges' scorecards.
1238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 25, 2023, 07:00:47 AM
"snip"Donaire at 40 years old has yet another shot at being a champion, even if I think getting the win will be a challenge for Donaire.
It's only a big challenge for Nonito Donaire if the boxer he's fighting with is a KO artist, or has a better ranking than him. Here, I don't see Santiago being a huge threat to Donaire. Even at his age now, I think Donaire can still dominate this opponent.

Santiago is not even in the top 10 in the ranking if the report is updated.

1239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 25, 2023, 06:08:59 AM
^^ Yeah, should be in Vegas for that week and it will be huge for the city again as gamblers are going to flock on the city and probably there will be whales along the way to put a bet on this fight and play on casinos as well.

Davis still the huge favorite here, as I have initially, imagine what will be store for us if this two finally do their weigh in and face off. For sure as their is animosity between this two, there will be a lot of bad mouthing and hearing expletive words in the press conference.

I think the OP has to change the date on the thread title. Instead of May, they should put April 2023, as that's the official month when this fight is going to happen. Since this is a big fight, there will surely be a huge limit on it, and both whales and typical bettors will certainly watch this fight. However, since I cannot go, I will just buy the PPV and bet live. I will still be entertained, I guess.
1240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 25, 2023, 05:01:38 AM

This is what's good with the Bucks. They're very balanced that even their one superstar player is out, they still have players that can step up offensively and take the game. This time, all of them contributed on offense as 6 players are in double digits. It's good to see Crowder back as well scoring 9 points. 3/3 for you so far. Let's watch the Kings vs. Clippers. Smiley

Yes, they don't rely too much on Giannis now. They are following a system that has resulted in a balanced offense and defense. Jae Crowder was a big steal for the Bucks, as he is an all-around player, a good 3-point shooter, and a good defender as well. The Bucks are not short of players who can contribute, especially in the playoffs.
