1281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 11, 2023, 11:20:00 AM
Yes and somehow that is already expected on this fight considering that Naoya Inoue has been ruled as the favorite on this fight despite the fact that he's just the challenger and the champion is the underdog. As the time goes by, this odds will likely change but not towards us, so the odds will become less and less profitable. But if you're that kind of bettor who like risky bets and believes that the champion can defend his belt successfully then this odds is for you.

Unfortunately, I think there's no crypto-sportsbook yet that will list this fight because there's no unofficial announcement yet including the date. There's May 30, there's June and there are other dates. I saw a fiat sportsbook listing this fight and it says May 30 but searching the web, there's no official date yet.

It's a good pick if others will have a chance to bet on Naoya Inoue Moneyline at the odds of 1.3 to 1.4. We might not see odds like that given on Inoue if he continue his reign and establishing more winnings while he is moving forward.

And it's too early to expect a listing in our favorite crypto sportsbook. This is a popular fight but it's on a lower class, so it's not popular fight compared to the fights in the higher division. Well, it's not really a problem though, we can wait, the most important now is that this fight will be official so we can only worry about the odds after.
1282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 11, 2023, 10:42:48 AM
TNT is already leading by 15 points, I think the point spread was -13.5. If TNT will continue to play better in the 2nd half, then I would say it's an easy win for the TNT in this game. TNT is now -17.5, it's still worth to take IMO because I don't think this DYIP has enough fire power to have a good come back.
And they continue dominating then 2nd half. They are now holding the total production of points in his conference as they surpass the total points of converge which is 130 points. Mikey Williams also was the best player, his 3 point shooting is quite accurate and that helps the team.

Instead, I took the TNT over 116.5 as I believe this will be a top scoring game.
This should hit mate, you only need 49 points in the 2nd half.
Yeah, that was easy, thank you.
Their scoring was not so high in the 3rd but in the 4th quarter they scored 35 points.

Next game is up between the Beermen and Converge, hoping here that SMB will cover that 6 points spread  Smiley.
We are on the same page on this one, GL to us.
I also have under 106.5 for Converge.
1283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 11, 2023, 07:50:44 AM
Just 2/3 for me, I thought that the Suns are not in a good form against the Pacers, but it seems that they are very "bullish" because KD is arriving soon hehehe.

@danherbias07 - close for the Celtics win, but didn't cover the handicap, they are leading by huge numbers, by they allow the Hornets to outscore them by 5 points in the 4th. Tatum on fire with 41 big points for the Celtics, they are not deter by the trade news recently.

That's the kind of game that would result in a big disappointment, you know, Celtics were already in control from the start of this game but the story were different in the 2nd half. you cannot be too confident even if you are betting on a good team, because a high spread always has a high risk as well, I'm thinking maybe the public is on the Celtics here.
1284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 11, 2023, 07:24:52 AM
2 games will be played today.
First game will be TerraFirma Vs. TNT followed by SMB Vs. Converge.
TNT has a very high spread, I don't want to take it as DYIP is sure looking for a win.
Instead, I took the TNT over 116.5 as I believe this will be a top scoring game.
With great shooting, I think that total points will be easily achieve.

Will the SMB retain their 0-loss record after this game against Converge? Will the Converge get their revenge after losing to TNT in their last game? Will TerraFirma steal one again against an MVP team or will the TNT get their 2nd straight victory.  Grin
Converge is also a good team, but the problem is they cannot stop JMF inside, plus their import will not be so tired because SMB has a lot of weapons for their offense, I'm afraid the import of converge will be exhausted because of the great defense of SMB.
1285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 10, 2023, 11:58:20 AM

1st game will be Magnolia vs Phoenix, I believe Magnolia is looking for their first win and they have a new import too.

Magnolia dominated the Phoenix, their import this time is better compared to their past import, but overall, it's the performance of the locals that give them a dominant win. Congratulations to them, they are not winless anymore.

Yeah, they dominated them from the 2nd quarter to the 4th quarter, Phoenix does not have a chance to have their run and make it a close game.

By the way, the last game is over, Ginebra vs Northport, and Northport with a new import (not new in the PBA), and Bollick was back, unfortunately, they cannot keep up with the competition, Ginebra is just so good even without their 2 big men, Japeth and C. Stand, they still win the game, and of course, cover the spread.
1286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 10, 2023, 11:18:14 AM
Phoenix Suns new contender for championship?

Ayton - Booker - Durant - Paul Shocked

Which team has the biggest advantage after trades?

I think Phoenix Suns has the biggest advantage, well, Dallas has benefited on Irving trade but Durant is a different bread that Kyrie, he is more matured and has the size to dominate his opponents. We haven't seen him played yet though, although the Suns have the biggest names already, but it's the chemistry that is the most important.

CP3 might have his first championship this season. Smiley
1287  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why I will never trust top exchanges on: February 10, 2023, 03:33:33 AM
They definitely have their issues, but if I were to need to pick an exchange that I would trust, it would most likely be the top ones. At least rather than those exchanges with non-public team members.

Of course as always, withdraw your funds if you're not trading them and yadda yadda.
Let’s just say issues are part of centralized exchanges, but as long as they can eventually address the problems quickly and find solutions to it, then they’re good enough. However, if you aim for the security and safety of your funds, that one thing these exchanges cannot guarantee us because as long as we don’t hold our keys, our funds are considered theirs, so they have all the means to access our funds and even steal it if they really wish to. The reason why we can never trust top exchanges since they are just taking advantage of our funds indirectly.
1288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 10, 2023, 03:00:26 AM
What a run by the Magic, they were double double digit early in the 1st quarter, now they are leading by 14 points. It's a big question if the Nuggets can still come back from this big deficit, and  if they'll come back and win, I doubt they'll cover the spread.
They had a run and the Nuggets were not able to come back in the game.
Such a good team, they can beat the Number 1 team in the West with Jokic playing, I think this Magic and OKC are the most underrated team this season.

Denver is 3.20 ML now, anyone taking it?
I hope no one fell into that trap, it was a money sucket bet.
1289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 10, 2023, 02:34:18 AM
Commentators of the game between Meralco and SMB always said that SMB had a good import, not totally that offensive but he makes his teammates better because he does not demand the ball so hard. He can defend well, as a result, the production of McDaniels, Meralco import was very limited, especially in the 1st half.
So far he is the best import IMO because he does not carry his team, he just defends, pass the ball and makes some points if necessary. The way he defended McDaniels, I think he can still do that to other imports, especially Brownlee. So far, he and Brownlee are the best team players import for me, but let's see if they'll face in the future.

Meanwhile, we have games today.

1st game will be Magnolia vs Phoenix, I believe Magnolia is looking for their first win and they have a new import too.
1290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will lead the world currency market?? on: February 10, 2023, 01:56:37 AM
Bitcoin can be an alternative but will not be a replacement. Banks and Government will move heaven and earth to make sure that will never happen hehe. They can make concessions like allowing it to co-exist with their national currency as an investment product or a legal tender but they will never allow it to exceed fiat or their own CBDC if they have one.

I would agree with this assessment. Right now Bitcoin is still relatively small on the global scale, especially when compared with top currencies. While I do believe the dollar will be replaced, I think it’s likely it will be replaced by a central bank digital currency, possibly made up of a basket of currencies. There is a chance that the people will reject government and use Bitcoin only, but I’d put the odds of that happening at probably 1%.
Well, this one has a good point too. Since we are now heading into a fully digital world, if USD will be replaced, most likely it would still be a centralized digital currency which is still in complete control with the government and central bank. Though bitcoin may also be globally accepted as a currency in the near future, but it  will never lead the world currency market because of its decentralization nature.
1291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 09, 2023, 11:38:07 AM

I believe that the main reason why people choose to wait until the day of the fight is because until the day of the fight a lot can happen, such as: the fighter can give up, the fighter can suffer a serious injury and recover in time of the fight but that will affect his performance and clearly that his opponent will have an advantage and consequently will be the favorite of the bookmakers, I for example would not bet on a fight that will only happen months later, I would bet when there are only a few days to go for the fight to begin

I don't think the right is still gonna happen if a fighter is injured prior to the fight, they can always postpone the right and wait for the fighter to heal his injury. Also, most of the sportsbooks now have a "cashout" option, which means you can get your funds if you don't want to proceed, but it's lower than what you originally bet if the odds are not in your favor.
1292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 09, 2023, 10:43:35 AM
Too many transfers that just happened within a short period of time. What team is still needing some buff for their roster? I am no longer impressed with powerful trios.

We have seen that many of these teams didn't find glory with that type of roster. It's still depending on their teamwork and just as what everyone is saying, about their chemistry.

Exactly, it depends on the teamwork of a team, but people are expecting to win a team that has a good roster as teamwork can be built along the way. Just like Kyrie Irving, he had his first game and they were the underdog against the Clippers and yet they won the game. That simply tells that Irving is easy to play with, he makes his teammates better and feels confident on the court.

Watch out when Luka returns, I'm sure they'll be a better team with good chemistry.
1293  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The 4 trading fears and how to overcome them on: February 08, 2023, 03:48:58 PM
One of the fear which you describe as fear of losing money is that fear due to which people loss large part of their money and if once they loss their money they does not learn but instead they leave trading, this is the big mistakes which most of the traders do.

it shows that novice traders started their trading without prior knowledge and learning. just following their instincts, or from a friend's suggestion to place a trade. It is a big risk, and when they do lose money, of course, more of the beginners will abandon trading and the market. they are afraid to return because of their own mistakes.
That shows that these traders have developed wrong mindset about trading. Because if they want to succeed in trading, they should never be discouraged losing their money because of consistent mistakes in trading. Instead, they should be more motivated to learn more knowledge in trading and gather a lot of experiences so they can eventually correct their previous mistakes and lessen the risk of losing in trading. Trading should be learned the hard way that’s why trading itself requires extensive knowledge, skills and working strategies so that trading will never end at a loss.
1294  Economy / Economics / Re: A steady source of income is a man's bottom line to support his family on: February 08, 2023, 03:14:06 PM
Or better yet, have multiple income streams. Just so you have a backup if you get fired from your job or your main income goes bust.
That is way safer, look for side hustles that can provide you additional income other than your main source income. At least, when one fails, other sources will still be reliable. However, with regards to your friend, I suggest not to be picky on jobs because he is in badly needed for a stable income so he should have a work that can put food on the table and can provide his family’s basic needs. Otherwise, his family will starve to death, if he will always wait for a high compensated job. And if he is really thinking about his wife’s condition, he should do what it takes so he can provide money for the upcoming surgery if ever.
1295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Act local and think global on: February 08, 2023, 02:40:16 PM
Today too many people are in worries about Bitcoin adoption, they want to see the global adoption happens overnight, that is impossible, I had some chats yesterday within a mist of friends and they are talking about how they don't notice any fast global bitcoin adoption, I told them that it won't happen instantly.

Bitcoin came into the world in 2009 and so far it's been doing so well. My last piece of advice to them is that Bitcoin adoption starts with us, let's forget about the global side, how many people have you lectured about Bitcoin this year locally, I asked.

The same thing goes out to all of us on here, every part we take locally will have a big impact on Bitcoin adoption, never get tired of spreading the news, it's worthy.
I guess even if we don’t spread the news, bitcoin adoption is already inevitable seeing it’s all over the internet. I’m not really into voicing out about bitcoin and all the positive things it has done for me, but rather I’m more on showing them the proofs how bitcoin changed my life. But if they come to ask me about bitcoin, of course I’d be very willing to answer them based on facts, including the risks involved when investing into bitcoin.
1296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have intended to stop gambling on: February 08, 2023, 01:01:43 PM
I haven't tried to stop but because it's not a problem for me. I play little, with low amounts, being aware that the odds are against me, and always with money I can afford to lose. I take it as an entertainment expense, with the difference that from time to time I come out with more money than I put in.

So, I don't have to set out to stop, and in fact, there are seasons when I don't gamble, simply because I don't feel like it or because I'm busy and don't even think about it.
Same for myself too. I don’t see any gambling addiction towards how I gamble because I only gamble whenever I have extra money intended for gambling. And it’s very occasional too when my friends and I would go into gambling casinos to entertain ourselves. That’s why it’s never an issue for me on how to stop gambling since I was never really serious when it comes to gambling.
1297  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My son, daughter, nephew wants to know about Bitcoin on: February 08, 2023, 12:41:32 PM
I want to know a deep thing from you, I live in a joint family with multiple members including my parents, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, nephews and nieces. Several people in our family work in cryptocurrency. We always work on Bitcoins and cryptocurrencies with computers and mobile phones. This made my family's young children interested in our work and wanting to know about Bitcoin.

But the problem is that my family's younger children all study in primary label. Should we educate young children about Bitcoin or introduce them to Bitcoin?

Moreover, another important thing is that in my country cryptocurrency i.e. Bitcoin is a completely government banned currency. So should we teach our children about the banned currency?

Moreover, as time progresses, the interest of children towards Bitcoin is increasing day by day.  Would it be reasonable to keep young children away from Bitcoin in the context of my country?

From my perspective as a parent, I'd say it's great to know that your children, daughter, and nephew are interested in bitcoin. But in terms of age, I'm sure the children don't know anything about it, but they are just curious and want to discover when they see their parents working. They just think it's a toy and can let them play. My son also often asks me about bitcoins every time he sees a picture of bitcoins on my computer, he says he likes bitcoins. But my children like it just because it's strange and want to play with it, not because it's interested in learning about them. Those two things are entirely different, you need to distinguish clearly, don't think that children who say they like will really like it, with that age it's just the age of exploration and mischief.
That’s also a good point. Children at a very young age only love to play because its their way to develop their whole well-being and for them, their world only revolves playing. So instead of learning about bitcoin and it’s volatility, children prefer more on playing and having fun. However, if you really want to teach the children about bitcoin, I suggest to teach them about saving first. Because if they develop discipline through saving early, most likely they will also grow as good bitcoin investors in the future.
1298  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - take profits or continue to DCA? on: February 07, 2023, 09:45:46 PM
Everything will come back to you. Which one will you choose from the two options. But if I were you, I wouldn't sell my bitcoins too fast, especially at the current price, because my profit isn't that big yet. I can wait a little longer for the price to pass the last ATH price because that is my target for the next halving and I believe the price will exceed the last ATH price.

But if you feel it's time to take your profit from the current increase, you can sell your bitcoins and wait for the next correction to buy more bitcoins and hold them until the price increases again. By doing it repeatedly, you can expect increased profits and also you can have more bitcoins.
I believe the final decision depends on you. If you see profits already and you want to take advantage of it, then start selling some of your coins. And just buy again when the price dumps. But if you think there’s more profits ahead by hodling it more and just continue to DCA at the moment, then it will also be a perfect choice as bitcoin halving is still not happening so you still have all the chances to keep on accumulating bitcoin and just sell them when there is new ATH already.
1299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am stopping for legal reasons. Is it really worth the trouble? on: February 06, 2023, 09:59:57 PM
As many of you may have read my previous posts and know that I used to accept crypto in my business. I was waiting for a Bitcoin payment to happen because all others were in alts. I used to convert them to BTC. No big deal there. But recently I am facing some issue with this.

I had to stop accepting Bitcoin/ Crypto payments because Cryptocurrency is not legal here anymore. It was in a gray area for quite some reason, but recently the law department is making their move by putting crypto in a black area, thus declaring it illegal.

I don't wanna wind up in some illegal affairs, so I put a halt in the crypto payment section. From my point of view, this is the best option I am left with right now.  I have no idea when will I be able to continue, or will I ever be able to continue again. And this whole thing is not because of any complaint from the police or anything like that. I am doing this for my own safety and to continue with my business. They are putting people in jail if they know we possess crypto.

So it's a personal thing for me. I can still continue if I wish to, but that doesn't seem like the wise decision. So let's hear what you guys want to say. Give me some advice from your personal experiences.

Better stop. There’s no sense fighting and promoting for bitcoin because the people around you will not gonna fight and oppose the government policies as they are afraid to do so. However, you can still continue to invest and accumulate more bitcoin but not in a process of accepting bitcoin as a payment system as your consumers will never want anymore to be involved in bitcoin as it’s banned in your country.
1300  Economy / Economics / Re: When your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, what would you do on: February 06, 2023, 09:45:24 PM

I have been in a job I detested and although I somehow managed to stay at it for up to 4 years, I didn't even for once let go of my passionate hobby and other passive streams of income I was interested in at the time.
Today, one of my passive interests pays more than my salary. My mind has been yearning for a resignation, but opinions of others and family bears the message of patience with the job I so much detest for reasons ranging from inflation to fear of the unknown.

If you were in my shoes, what would be the best advice you would give yourself and adhere to in this instance?

Never leave your job instantly. Secure your finances first. If you are gaining good and stable income from your side hustles, then you can start looking for a new job to replace your old job but never settle being jobless because most of the side hustles do not last longer. Some only exist temporarily and they’re gone, except for those well established ones. So have your own day job, and make use of your free time doing some side hustles that are giving your great income too.
