2861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I hold BTC 0.05 for future ? on: January 12, 2018, 12:35:15 PM
Dear audience I have 0.05 BTC should I hold it for future value ? In recent time the market is very dumping so that feeling little scared.
The amount is not very necessary I can hold it if the market will raise

Of course, if I were you, I'd buy BTC right now. With the recent fall, Bitcoin has become a little more affordable and there is no doubt that the price will rise again in the future weeks/months to come. Only the weak traders are selling now, those who do not know about the core idea of Bitcoin and have just jumped the hype train.

Don't be one of these people. I think you will thank us later when Bitcoin hits 100K  Grin

However, also pay attention to the news. If China or America bans bitcoin, maybe its time to sell, however certainly not till then.
2862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Worried about btc future on: January 12, 2018, 12:28:46 PM
I see a lot of optimism about bitcoin, which is understandable seeing the price recently.
But I have to admit I'm a little worried about the long term future of btc.
The major problems if the currency still haven't been dealt with. I see 2 major ones:

-Block size. Which makes the delay and fees of transaction rise very fast. Smaller transactions are more and more difficult to make.
-The centralization of the market. China got low cost electricity, which make them by far the most bitcoin mining capable.
-And maybe others that I'm not aware of.

Another thing: The Hard forks that are oddly getting much more frequent than before. (BCH, BTG, Segwitx2 etc...) It almost looks like "attacks" in order to divide us. Now called "airdrops" by the community. Even though they're supposed to solve some of the problems.

All in all, this makes me really worried about btc future. I've been a strong holder since 2014, and I made quite a lot of money with bitcoins, but I begin to doubt now, even though the price is crushing ATM. Please help me keeping faith. Or should I switch to another currency ? Really thinking about ETH recently.

This is an interesting topic.

With BTC dropping quite a bit today, maybe ETH is the better option. ETH has also risen quite a lot, but then that only leaves me to think that maybe this is somewhat of an artificial pumping made by a group of people. Yes, Bitcoin transactions are currently very slow, however what ETH cannot provide as opposed to bitcoin is the market cap of 21 million BTC. ETH has an unlimited supply, so in essence it is just another fiat on the blockchain. You can 'print' as much as you want, meanwhile with BTC you cannot.

However, Bitcoin will drastically fall when countries start banning it or miners start abandoning ship. This is the only possibility that could put an end to Bitcoin, and also other cryptocurrencies.
2863  Economy / Reputation / Re: get my ratings up in bitcoin talk on: January 12, 2018, 12:24:33 PM
Hi, everyone.....

I happy to hear that....
Btw, how to get good score on this forum?

There are several ways, but I hope so that you can improve in the future.

First off, post better. Good quality, constructive and lenghty posts are crucial to gaining ranks here in the forum. On average, you want to do around 1 or 2 posts a day and also don't want to be spamming.

As for gaining trust, you have to earn it in the first place. Trust is crucially earnt through trading and/or helping the community/ admins in some shape or form. Though you should not be here in the forum just to earn trust trust and then quickly scamming someone.

First start posting, and in the meantime try to get your trust rating up. But please don't farm it. It has to be legitimate....
2864  Economy / Reputation / Re: The Pharmacist - Attacks Filipinos here in BCT on: January 12, 2018, 12:16:13 PM
or come away smelling of curry at best.
That's Indians, not Filipinos Tongue

Being an Indian,I take this offensively.I don't eat curry ,neither shit on streets. I have a big Italian bathroom in my house which also happens to have a reserve of tissue papers for an year.Obviously,my family takes a glorious shit in the morning. That being said, I do agree most of the Indians smell of curry and shit on the streets.

^That's how you take jokes OP.

Though you do have to admit that its 3rd world posters from Asia that completely ruin this forum. They just spam 24/7 in bounties, signature campaigns, they buy accounts and scam.

Yes, there are legit people here from these countries that The Pharmacist is 'attacking', however you somehow forget about the peaceful people when their brothers and sisters are doing such vile acts here. While I don't completely with the wording of him, his core ideas are spot on and something should certainly be done about all this spamming.

*Agreed with hilariousetc, words don't kill, actions do. Its not like the Pharmacist is going to kill every Filipino he sees....*
2865  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time for Bitcoin to shine again on: January 07, 2018, 02:34:08 AM
Took profit in some of the Alts last night. BTC dominance is way to low. Exuberance in the alts is way too high.

Don't worry, bitcoin will shine again. Its just a matter of time. Bitcoin's price is once more up again and IMP will continue to rise for the next few months or so. Alts will also be up as a result, though IMO I don't think that its a healthy option that they will be up for too long.

It's the time! We are good to see the Bitcoin growing; it could reach to 20000 by the end of this month.
Yes the time to shine again for bitcoin, we will see again 20$k by end of this month. There is always the time for bitcoin as this is the most traded also. So just hold if you want to have profit big.

I would not say 20k. In the recent fall, people became wary of bitcoin's volatility and many light traders immediately sold. People have become more careful when buying and selling bitcoin, so any rise from here on will only be gradual, not immediate.
2866  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its too late to invest in Bitcoin! on: January 07, 2018, 01:45:30 AM
With the high price of Bitcoin, I think its unwise to invest your money in bitcoin at this point in time. Maybe it's better to look for other Altcoins being offered in the Market. What do you think?

No, it is never too late to invest in bitcoin, at least I'd say so at this time. Bitcoin is still very much expected to rise again, and there is no way that bitcoin will fail any time soon.

Many millionaires have also started to look into the crypto market as well as many wall-street traders. Bitcoin and other crypto is set for a bright future, however anything can happen in the meantime.

Be cautions, dont invest in Bitcoin just because its bitcoin. Do research and think things over. Also, dont panic sell.
2867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to keep my wallet safe? on: January 07, 2018, 12:36:52 AM
Guys, How to keep my wallet safe?

Where  can I buy cold wallets or what kind of services do you use?

Personally, a hardware wallet such as the ledger nano (s) or the trezor series is the best and most secure option for holding and storing your bitcoins. You may also try electrum wallet, however that is a software wallet and is prone to breakdowns if your computer crashes or dies.

However, please be in control of your private keys the whole time, and also make sure that you are keeping no funds in exchanges, as they can scam you whenever they want.

Also, don't be stupid. Do not open shady links or expose your private keys. This way, you will be fine (for sure?).
2868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have You Been Scammed? on: January 07, 2018, 12:30:13 AM
I just came over from the 'Investor Games' subforum (hope I got that right). A guy there said he came across a site asking to double his bitcoin, he paid in $20 and got $40 the following day or so. He then went for a higher plan of $300 hoping to cash out $600 but they asked him to pay in another $300 before cashing out. He got confused and was asking for advice.

I think I've been there before. Before I became a forum member. I once came across one of those scam sites promising to generate bitcoins. Thought it was real, but when they asked me to pay some transaction fee, I was stuck. I had no money to pay the fee. With the benefit of hindsight, I know I'd have sent them the 'transaction fee' had I had the coins to send them.

Now, what have been your experience with internet scams?
How do we help people not to get scammed?

I personally have been scammed a few times before, and it is not good. The main thing to look out for is the previous trades of these individuals. I am still amazed at the amount of people that fall for newbie accounts that have clearly been made to scam people.

Trade with only trust able people, make sure you set yourself clear guidelines such as positive trust, recent trades and/or whatnot.
2869  Economy / Reputation / Re: Crook in "Services" on: January 06, 2018, 11:23:38 PM
Someone really needs to do something about all these bitcoin acceleration services.
I actually used one of those services by a guy named Jimmy something, and it totally worked and I tipped him $5 in dogecoin for doing it.  So the accelerators aren't all scammy, but I think some of them are.  I think some of these guys are doing it either for tips or for positive feedback.  Nothing on bitcointalk surprises me anymore as far as scams go.

Well for sure you can have a look that after Coolwave got exposed, few days later massive amounts of accounts were made and were used for the accelaration, and all of them wanted you to 'tip' them for doing their shit work.

I don't think its that hard if we have a sticky in services for these accelerators. I would think that its best of you to decide which one you want to use and how much you'd like to pay for it.
2870  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we in a Bitcoin Bubble on: January 06, 2018, 11:19:32 PM
Hey Guys, I just came across the following tweet regarding Bitcoin. https://twitter.com/Elite_89/status/944746253929336832 I am not good at reading charts. If anyone is good at reading charts, can you please help me out.
Bitcoin Bubble

First off, the twitter link does not work. However, you should really think about this yourself.

Yes, bitcoin may be in a bubble. Who knows? However, if you have a look at the idea behind bitcoin and its core values, it will seem obvious that even if it does crash, its not going to be the end of bitcoin forever. It will take time and a lot of effort to destroy bitcoin.

However, the lightning network needs to be implemented asap because what is happening right now is horrendous.
2871  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs. Gold Prices on: January 06, 2018, 02:57:41 PM
Bitcoin I think will overtake gold in many aspects, and will become a lot more valuable in society.

Gold? no more talking about gold. In this modern era, bitcoin is more needed by people. Bitcoin makes investors really sure it's safe to invest their money into it. Bitcoin price also increases fast for years and that's really good for investors too.

Haha, very much true. However, we don't want bitcoin to suddenly drop because of all the growth. Its got the future, I just don't know if this is healthy growth or not.

Gold has been a stable investment for many years, though for sure it will grow outdated in the years to come.
2872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be too big to fail? on: January 06, 2018, 02:13:55 PM
After spending much time as a guest on this forum learning all I can about Bitcoin, I finally decided to join. Glad to be here and thanks for all the great advice along the way!

Now I have a question I'd like to ask. Is Bitcoin going to get to the point where it is too big to fail? The government bailed out Wall Street to avoid a financial collapse. Can Bitcoin gain the same status as Wall Street? The market cap is steadily increasing making it a big player in the game and I'm looking forward to where it is headed.

Thanks in advance!

Nope, anything big can  also fail. For example have a look at the world economy in 2018. Anything and everything can happen at any time. While bitcoin is looking fairly strong for now, anything can change for tomorrow.

However for sure it is a good investment now, but we know things can change. If the lightning network is not implemented at all, I'd say Bitcoin has a rather grim future ahead of itself.

Bitcoin can change and is volatile, its price can drop anytime, however there is no central organization that holds it which is why it would not possibly fall altogether.

Good start but wrong ending. It is exactly because of its decentralization that bitcoin can fail so quickly and drastically. There is no-one to hold it back unlike with the stock market.
2873  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's the reason why BTC rise or decline? on: January 06, 2018, 01:32:53 PM
Huh As we all know, the recent 2 months, BTC has risen to $15000 quickly. This never happened is the past. How to explain this phenomenon?

Thats because Bitcoin is completely decentralized, so the buying and selling of Bitcoin is totally dependent on the community. There is no panic holder for bitcoin, meaning that it will and can drop to as low as you want, however on the contrary can also rise to as much as you want.

Usually bitcoin only falls when word of FUD comes around to the light headed and inexperienced traders who sell out of panic. Also, the same can be said when people or bitcoin whales start dumping their stash.
2874  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin rise up to $30k in 2 months? on: January 06, 2018, 01:10:37 PM
Mark Zuckerberg is ready to use Blockchain technology in Facebook

Founder of the social network Facebook Mark Zuckerberg got seriously engaged in the study of Blockchain technology to apply it in the work of its social network   in the future. He is sure that it will help the Internet to be developed in the right direction.

Today the Internet has become too centralized and controlled by governments and several large players, including Facebook, wrote Zuckerberg in a big post on his page. This situation differs from the vision that belongs to ordinary Internet users. Therefore, Blockchain technology can return Facebook the original idea of decentralization of independence, said Zuckerberg.

In 2018, Mark Zuckerberg will carefully study all the possibilities that Blockchain technology gives, as well as its pros and cons. It is possible that, among the innovations, Facebook integrates cryptocurrencies into the social network and its individual services. It is noticed, according to some reports, the founder of Telegram Pavel Durov has similar ideas.  In the future, such  function can become a key in the competitive struggle of the largest social networks.

Maybe not the next 2 months. Bitcoin is still very much recovering from a near crash, so I don't really expect the value to sky rocket once more. This dip in value has cautioned people that bitcoin is not always a sure profit maker for the lighthearted trader. Those who believe in it will hold and the value will rocket up as the world adjusts to it.

Lol Facebook bans news from alternative media (rt russia) and now he is talking about decentralization. He is a jew so he will support and protect rothschild interests. He'll adopt a bankster coin I am sure.

Boy calm down. He can do whatever he wants, though yes it may not seem to be the most honest, it is his company,.
2875  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big Daddy Bitcoin is Back & Your Alts Might be Hurting Because of It on: January 06, 2018, 01:06:15 PM
Bitcoin is back up $17,000 and with that nice move, the air has been sucked out of some of the hottest altcoins of the past month like XRP, XLM, ADA and more. Is now the time to lock in profits, buy the dip or something else? Let's talk about the day's action and what we might see in the future.

I don't even know why alts are even such a thing. Of course, there are many positives to it, but essentially they are just copies of the cryptocurrency idea.

Bitcoin will always be the king, so it is no surprise if the value goes up a lot and all the alts drop along with it. Its healthy IMO. The higher BTC is, the more dominant it becomes and the better it is for all of us.

XRP is going crazy now, however I can see a crash coming sooner or later to it.
2876  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a mobile version of the site? on: January 06, 2018, 12:20:08 PM
I don't see any mobile version /talkpal for the forum. Does it exist?

Officially, no. There is no mobile version of this forum. However, please be advised that there are many fakes on the google play store and most of them are just fake, counterfeit versions of Bitcointalk. All they do is steal you login information and that gets sold to the account sellers of this forum. Thats about it.

Any app that you see that claims to be a bitcointalk site is fake, do not trust it at all.
2877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to cash out on: January 06, 2018, 10:43:51 AM
Hey guys,

How do you cash out from other currencies including bitcoin and altcoin from exchange site back to USD?
Just use large exchanges like HITBTC, poloniex or bitfinex (and a bunch of others too). Just be sure not to transact all your BTC at once and also be wary that even these large exchanges have scammed people before in the past.

Trade with caution, though IMO the best way to trade bitcoin only right now is to use the website localbitcoins.com.

Its easy to use, and fast. Thats it. Just convert all your alts into BTC, then sell. Selling directly to fiat usually has bad rates.
2878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have around 8000 BTC,but my country are too small cap to cash out on: January 06, 2018, 10:26:30 AM
Guys,

I'm from Malaysia, and I brought 8000btc when many years ago(and glad that I still have found back).

I'm looking for cash out all the btc I have own now,it is about 100 million usd fund, but I don't think my country market have support that huge of volume,I do my research found that exchanges in Malaysia are really small, big exchanges like only bitfinex and coinbase can support that much of volume, but it can't use their service in Malaysia, and I'm not US citizen.I don't know what to do now.

I'm really frustrated knowing I own that much of money but I can't cash out due to my country is not popular with this coin, any suggestion for me? Whoever can help me solve my problem I promise to gave him 50btc after I manage to cash out.A man will keep his word.

覧覧覧覧覧
updated: 6.1.2018 4:54pm

what country that can support 100 mil usd withdrawal?

I'm actually have thinking about open an US bank account, but I'm not sure whether I can withdrawal that much of fund from exchanges to my bank account or not.

I actually don't mind paying tax fees to US or Malaysia gov whatever,I just want to have a cash out plan.

What I would suggest is not to cash out all your funds at once. Not so much for the governments being suspicious (as seen in the post above), however also if the exchanges want to scam you. Its very important that you do not do this as essentially all of the major exchanges have scammed people before, and its not a good idea to fall into that situation also with the exchange being overseas to you.

Thanks everyone for the advice.Contact Gemini or other for big exchanges private deal should be the best idea so far,
because I can't even get verified account on these exchanges, they only allow US citizen.
Just make sure you know what you are doing. 8000 BTC is a LOT! Make sure you are familiar with laws prevailing on your country. You don't want your bank account to get frozen or get in trouble with the laws, do you? Transferring such large amount of money will actually get your attention.

Yes, you should watch out for this.

What I would do is this: Buy a plane ticket to america, and visit the HQ of a major exchange like poloniex or bitfinex and exchange it to them face to face. Thats probably thee best and safest method.

I love this quote by Yankeestyle:  "Campaign is closed due to some reasons. Im not able to run this campaign anymore sorry to all."

The second thread there is locked and I can't quote it, but that's Yankeestyle's quote--and it totally sounds scumbaggy, and he has been tagged appropriately IMO.

There are a lot of crooks in Services, so watch out.

Yeah, their post about not able to continue their services is fishy, but also very vague. Will payouts be made or not?

Also, :

Someone really needs to do something about all these bitcoin acceleration services. Its ridiculous and scammy. Maybe theymos or the moderator there should make a sticky post at the top of the services board to access all known 'free' bitcoin acceleration services without getting scammed by everyone else.
2880  Economy / Reputation / Re: Ehrhc (C Project) - Defamation and likely scam. on: January 06, 2018, 10:05:27 AM
Lol did 1discovery really delete his post? Thats pretty sad to be honest. Just goes to show how dishonest and untrusted you are.

On the other regard however, the project C looks like a scam. I  have not yet followed up on whether they have actually payed their bounty participants, but their previous actions look highly untrustworthy.

Also, if the owner was legitimate, why would be spam lies about Lauda and mprep? Doesn't make sense...
