321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe I should have taken this risk earlier. on: October 28, 2023, 03:14:34 PM
Investing in bitcoin is truly a life changing than saving your fiat in the bank.

However, Bitcoin don't always give you a $10,000 increase in price in a very short period of time, that's why you have to study on how to read price charts to have your own technical analysis based on those candle sticks and news about cryptocurrency. It's not just about investing and hoping to get some decent profits like after some months of waiting.

Let's say you bought now at $34,000, it could dump to $30,000 and stays like that for months. My point is, investing in bitcoin doesn't have to be your tuition fee or anything that's already been for something important, the fund that you should invest are your extra savings, because it could take some time before you could have a decent profit.
322  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a formula for Bitcoin starters? on: October 28, 2023, 02:24:36 PM
There's no formula, just don't do things randomly without giving it a lot of thoughts first, because newbies often to do panic selling because they lack knowledge regarding about bitcoin.
Most of them just invested to bitcoin because they know someone who do or maybe in the internet, so they automatically did the same thing hoping to get the same thing without even researching how to properly do it.
323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: October 28, 2023, 01:41:14 PM
Gambling with the hope of winning young is impossible because even if you play carefully, it is still very difficult to win, especially for those who play uncontrollably. I think very few people play gambling just for fun because most people who gamble of course want to win from the games they play and if we have experienced an addiction then it will be very difficult to stop gambling so it will be better to play our gambling can control ourselves so as not to easily spend the money we have on gambling.

Winning in gambling is hard, so people can quit gambling. But No, Even quitting in gambling is hard too. The reason for this is that no matter how many times you lose and how much money you win, there is always a hope of winning big.

You can ask different gamblers and all of them will say that they lost many times but no one will say that they want to quit gambling. This is the power and addiction of gambling. People can afford to lose in gambling but they can't imagine quitting gambling. It is the fun in gambling or the hope of winning, which will keep people involved in gambling.

This is why it is very important to have self-control in gambling. It's not really impossible to not get addicted and to quit gambling. It will be a hard task, but it is feasible depending on your discipline. Actually, you would hardly encounter being dependent and addicted if you are committed to stay in line - on you boundaries and limitations. This way, you prevent any bad things from happening instead of curing it once it already occurred. Controlling yourself will be your first and main dilemma, then everything else will follow. The level of difficulty of recovering and quitting addiction will really rely on your willingness and determination.
324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: October 28, 2023, 11:14:27 AM

Very well said and I completely agree,  and I also remember making an example that is somewhat related to this which you have said.

In one of my previous comments on this thread I believe, I talked about someone being sick and clearly needing to receive medication,  people around can see that this person is sick and needs medical attention, but the person in question refused and insisted that he or she is not sick, treatment is not something that can be forced on a person except when that person is completely down and can no longer help him or her self up.

Same also goes with all forms of addiction, not just gambling addiction, just as you have said, a sick person have to first agree that he or she is sick and needs medical help, then he can either call the doctor to come check on him or her, or he or she can visit the hospital for check up and possible treatment, same goes with addiction, an addict who has refused to accept that he or she is addicted and need help, will likely remain an addict until he or she first agree, then seek help to come out of it.

Acceptance and willingness are the major key factors in recovering from gambling. It's essential for successful medication that the patient is well-aware about his condition and is willing to be treated and be helped by the professionals. After all, you must first help yourself. Gambling addiction is like a sickness that is serious and has to be healed, otherwise it will consume you and bury you. Anyone that doesn't want to be helped will not recover from their sickness. One must be determined to combat addiction by undergoing rehabilitation and medication together with the professional guidance and counsel. This way, there will be lesser chances of undergoing relapse.
325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often is your luck in gambling? on: October 28, 2023, 08:25:37 AM
I'm not very much lucky in terms of winning during those days that I'd like to bet using small amounts and just for mere fun. I guess the odds aren't just siding with me because I lack the skills too. But when it comes to lottery, I can't say for sure because I haven't tried it yet myself. Although I know people who regularly bet on it before and that person is my father. He wasn't very luck either. He never won a huge amount despite betting every single day way back. And if he ever does win, it'll just be a small amount like a return amount of bet type of thing. I guess that's better instead of nothing at all.

If I ever does win the jackpot prize in the future or even not the jackpot itself but a huge amount of money, I will definitely quit instantly lol. It's because I'm not much of a risk taker and I'd rather enjoy what I already have than chase more winnings that are still uncertain.
326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to build a career with bitcoin? on: October 27, 2023, 01:34:42 PM
Bitcoin can bring you so much profit if and if you only know what you're doing.

I don't recommend investing all in in Bitcoin, unless you have a regular job where you can get extra money to sustain your needs and bills so you won't be force to sell your holdings in a price that you're not happy since you have no choice because you have responsibilities as an adult. But don't rush your decision just because someone you know made a profit in just a short period amount of time, bitcoin is not always going up, we have the bear market season, don't forget that.
327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is the increase in Bitcoin price benefits us on: October 27, 2023, 12:20:51 PM
Profits, that's the only thing I want.

Let's be honest, aside from the things you've said, we all want the profit we've been waiting for after we bought in the deep, because our patience is finally going to bear fruit. We can be benefited in a lot of way with the profits we're going to have, like our dreams house, dream car, dream bike, etc. The best thing is that we could by again when Bitcoin dive deep again to gain more profits in the next cycle.
328  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do Not Lose Everything Youve Gained in One day, or One Trade on: October 27, 2023, 08:36:12 AM
People are greedy.

I also experienced this once, because my mindset is that if I won a trade using my technical analysis, I can win the next trade that I'm going to make with a higher leverage for an easy profit, but it's not as simple as that, because trading is not always Christmas. We always forgot the risk management and the right management of our funds and profit, that's why we always lose everything and the rage trading will start.

Chasing the losses is the most case scenario for newbie traders, trading randomly because of their frustration hoping to make profits without any plan at all.
329  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Know When to Stop. Lesson for Everyone, Particularly Investors on: October 27, 2023, 07:27:01 AM
I can attest to that mate  as I am also a trade loser from the past , even lose multiple times when I am starter but never that i lose my faith , and since I was not lucky in day trading , I focused in Holding and indeed , success is what i gain for years now.

Agree with you but I think stop loss should be used when you are willing to test whether and to that most of the time you are winning. If you use stop loss when you don't have much idea about the stop loss and you are brand new you should not use stop loss because you don't have much knowledge about its future. That's why you should first master the trading well and then use stop loss besides you can face loss most of the time.

You don't have to master trader first in order to use stop loss, it's easy to understand. Besides, how can you master trading if you're not going to try everything on it, I hope that make sense.

Also, it is already given that you're going to lose most of the time in most cases of newbie traders because they are still exploring, finding the right approach that suits their styles to make profits in spot or futures trading. Experience is the best teacher, a very good foundation in the long run, you could also decide whether to stop or continue based on your experience in trading.
330  Economy / Economics / Re: How to reduce the price of goods on: October 26, 2023, 02:01:02 PM
To reduce the price of foods, we should reduce also the corrupt politicians that enables monopoly in the economy.

We cannot simply reduce the price of goods if we lack in power, voice, and action. Let's admit the fact that the government we have don't care about it's country and citizens as long as they are getting what they want, money, of course. They want the power to control the society, to steal money from their people's taxes. I must say that this world we live in is hopeless, we only want power, money, and more money.

May God save us all.
331  Economy / Economics / Re: What does being rich mean in your perspective? on: October 26, 2023, 12:40:55 PM
Richness for me is when you don't look at the pricetag anymore, you just buy whatever you want without asking the price. It is when you buy anything at any price and yet you still have a lot of money left, like you don't know where to spend it.

Richness is about having financial freedom, where you didn't trampled anyone's lives just to get where you are. It is about the kindness, and respect you have that's why your businesses became success all of the time, and yet you remain humble and helped those people who needs your help.
332  Economy / Economics / Re: Small Scale Business Ideas on: October 26, 2023, 11:57:50 AM
Business whether its big or small, it will always have its own risk. To minimize risks in every business, you have to know what you're doing, a business plan is a must. You must know where to start your business, your target customer, your budget, and what kind of business is fitted in your area.

Also, you have to make a very unique marketing strategy or an advertisement to make it famous in no time, so the audience will be curious about your business and your customers in no time.
333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction on: October 25, 2023, 02:49:00 PM
Professional intervention isn't really cheap. You will hardly find a low cost therapy nowadays because as you mentioned, it really comes with a price for every session. It isn't a one time payment thing because the severity of the addiction from one person to another varies as well. With this, there are different treatments and approaches to be done for them to recover and regain their lives, and it will really cost money especially for the facilities, utilities, and the professional fee itself.

This is why it's important to prevent addiction as long as it can still be prevented because it has a lot of repercussions in the long run if it weren't treated immediately. You will be lucky if you have a good public health service in your area that could provide a low cost or even free rehabilitation and treatment of addiction.
334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do your parents know about your gambling habit ? on: October 25, 2023, 01:33:32 PM
Most of the grown up people do not live with parents. At such, the parents are not aware about the interests and habits of individuals. Do you parents know that you gamble ? What was their first reaction towards your gambling habit ?
I am a grown assed human.
My parents doesn't have to know my activities. Besides I moved out many years ago.
What I think I owe them now is respect by not bringing shame to their name through irresponsible gambling, like going into debts, getting fired from place of work because of my gambling habits, and other negative ills associated with gambling.

This is a good perspective. Kudos for having a responsible gambling habit to not bring shame upon your parents name. It's kind of rare to see someone taking care of their family name's reputation at this time because most of the time, people become selfish and tend to forget their roots. It's refreshing to know that someone values their parents and respects them so much to not taint what they take pride with. I hope many gamblers and players will have the same mindset as you. That way, there will be lesser to no case of gambling addiction, financial burdens due to gambling using credit or loans, and the likes that share negative connotation to gambling.

But maybe consider letting someone who you trusted so much to know a little bit of your gambling habit so you could still be grounded and be guided when things don't go very well. It doesn't necessarily mean to be your parents, it could be them, but if you don't want to bring stress or overthinking to them, you can just give them some hint that you occasionally play and just have a friend or your partner to know your routine in gambling, so you won't be lost in case you need some suggestions.
335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: October 25, 2023, 12:29:11 PM

You are very correct, but let me say that, setting a profit limit in gambling does not sound ideal or feasible to me honestly, this is because, in gambling, the outcome of games is totally unpredictable, so this makes it absolutely impossible to know which bet will turn out to be the winning bet and one that will turn out to be the losing one, setting a profit limit will only make the gambler spend more time than necessary playing just to see if he or she could or would reach the profit target he or she have set for him or herself. This can not only lead to the gambler getting addicted easily to gambling, in the days that luck is not on the gamblers side, he or she will lose more money, and at the end of the day, he may not even reach the profit limit he or she set for him or herself.

Instead of setting a profit limit, set loss limit instead, so that while playing, if you hit your lose limit, you can easily leave gambling for that day and try again the next day.

It is feasible, however, it isn't very much ideal given the situation you already provided, bets and plays aren't a sure thing. There is no guaranteed win, therefore if you already reached your limit amount to spend, you can no longer bet and play more which is really saddening to the gambler's end because of course, they would want to play more because of the fun, entertainment, and profit on the side. But it is possible to set a limit and stand by it if you are just disciplined enough. Then the moment you win, decide whether you want to cash out or you want to continue to gamble and check if you have a profit, if you are in it for profit or just a breakeven.
336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: October 25, 2023, 11:37:42 AM

Sad part is instead of realizing the amount of what they already lose, they push it forward in trying to recover the money. Putting them in a much greater risk of losing more, I think if the balance inside the person's mind is no longer controllable, the chance of being dominated by gambling activities is high.

It's the person itself who can change it and bring back the balance, though it's tough but doable when you really wanted to keep the balance
intact.

It's not really healthy to chase winnings because it can lead to more losses in the long run instead of recovering your funds. It might do more damage actually without you noticing the pile and accumulated expenditures in gambling. So it's better to draw a line at the very beginning, the moment you want to start gambling already set a boundary, and establish then follow it as you go on. It's not really a tough thing to do if you are disciplined enough. Having self-control is basic and will be the steering wheel of your gambling journey, hence, it's important to possess it and to learn to have it if it isn't very much innate to you.
337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question for those who loose too frequently in gambling on: October 25, 2023, 10:46:11 AM

Not all people gamble in order to win back their losses. Of course there is a certain percentage of people who have not learned to lose, but the percentage of people who realize that in gambling is impossible only to win is quite large. All gamblers are very different, so someone plays gambling for fun, someone so takes free time, someone dreams of winning a big score and constantly checking luck.

Indeed. There are different types of gamblers. Some are gambling just for the sake of entertainment, some have gambling as form of relaxation and stress reliever, while some use gambling to generate additional source of income. Depending on what's your goal in gambling will somehow dictate the way you play or bet whether it may be passive or aggressive type. It will also depend on your personality and attitude. If you are not much of a risk taker and more of a reserved gambler, most likely there will be a specific budget allocation since you are disciplined and responsible about finances due to repercussions. Meanwhile, if you are an all-out gambler, the chances are high that you are willing to bet and play more if you deem necessary for high returns.

Although it's really essential to realize early on that gambling isn't a get-rich-quick scheme. So better to assess and analyze first the risks and the rewards before diving deep into it.
338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: October 24, 2023, 03:55:19 PM

I agree with you, this kind of stuff is very common on the internet even vloggers are promoting it. So no matter how much we take double care for children, they still can't avoid knowing it, so it's better to give them an idea of how harmful it is to children so that they think twice about whether they want to try it.

It's just like my brother, he's too absorbed in his phone and computer then one day he asked me how to play that kind of gambling because he often sees it on the internet I just told him to avoid watching it because it's not good for their age, too much it is dangerous and can ruin your life. I also added that he sees me gambling and he replied that he doesn't even one.
I'm also my brother's idol so I said that too and he got what I meant.

It's quite alarming that there seems to be little to no safe space for kids now on the Internet. But oh well, it's also expected given the fact that most things on the Internet are hardly monitored and detected by the system. Some manages to not be detected by the community rules and guidelines, and some are just outright permitted because it's not totally harmful, just not advisable for kids but permitted for people at the right age or adults.

So what's best to do is to monitor and supervise your kids or siblings whenever they are browsing the Internet. This way, you can check their frequently watched and visited sites wherein you can guide them and teach them what's advisable to watch and what are not allowed for them to browse because it can be of danger to them or alter their perspective at a young age. Vloggers who are promoting gambling are anywhere on Youtube and other streaming platforms so do your responsibility as an adult to tell them the repercussions of engaging in such so they will avoid interacting with it.
339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: October 24, 2023, 02:43:27 PM

Its crazy how many people jump right into gambling thinking it will bring in steady money. And yes, many people do find it hard to understand the differences between gambling and buying cryptocurrencies. I think people need to understand that trade may be based on research and guesswork, but gambling is mostly a game of luck.

However, if someone really loves a game, they have to keep playing it over and over, as you said. Repeating something over and over again can help you understand it better, which can mean the difference between blasé gambling and smart choices. Self-reflection is very important, especially when you're gambling. In order to be a good player, you should always be looking at your moves, finding mistakes, and fixing them.

Indeed.

In order to be an experienced and good player, one must possess different characteristics, traits, and skills such as being disciplined, strategic, responsible, and knowledgeable about gambling. Gambling's benefits do not come instantly without hard work and patience. It takes time to become a successful gambler, and to make gambling as a good stream of income aside from other jobs. Although sometimes people keep on forgetting this and expect more in the process, only to be disappointed later on. It's not an overnight process to earn money in gambling, it will take time and a lot of patience together with your skills and luck.

Of course, self-reflection is one of the key factors too. Having assessment of yourself regarding what you did, what went wrong when you lost, and how you can do better are just a few things to do to be able to have a good gambling journey without being addicted and without losing so much.
340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Credit card gambling fuels gambling addiction on: October 24, 2023, 12:51:47 PM

We have a different hobbies and some of those hobbies are money generating hobbies which some of us can consider as investment, hobby is the secondary purpose. Depending on how financial literate you are, you can use your credit card to for good. As long as you know that you will not be in debt by using it or for short you are responsible in using your credit card, there's no harm in it. Having control on what or where to spend it is essential in having those. I believe that having a credit card is a huge responsibility since it can be a burden to you if you use it in a wrong way. My conclusion is credit card shouldn't be used on gambling, since just by using it there means you are not responsible.

I agree that as long as you're responsible in using your credit cards it won't be harmful to you. Although unfortunately, most of the time people misuse credit cards because they weren't knowledgeable enough about financial literacy. In the end, instead of being of help, it becomes a burden because pile of debts accumulate over and over with its interest on top of it, resulting to having so many financial obligations to fulfill by its due date or even past its due date.

Credit cards are really helpful because one can take advantage of such when things go tight and you can even earn rewards for frequent usage. Sure, it can be used to gambling too to finance the bets and plays. Although it's just risky since some people becomes addicted, so I'm not really fan of its usage in gambling. But it's just me. As long as there will be casinos and gambling websites that will accept such, then good for the gamblers who rely on using their credit cards. What's important is that they will pay on time and fulfill their dues.
