361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid getting rugpulled on: February 01, 2024, 12:36:30 PM
Often, we focus on well-known projects for quick profits, but what about the long-term utility these newer projects might offer? If we do a consistent 3-4 hour research on new coins daily or on coins which get listed (which I do on the above cex I mentioned) you did see that we can bypass some problems of getting scammed or rug pulled.
A large percentage of new altcoins/projects do not have any utility, they are basically pump and dump coins that are only influenced by hype and nothing else. How many news coins have real world utility, something people would need and use in the society? Nearly zero.

Having said that, you can research all you want about these projects and still buy a scam coin or a worthless coin, because these projects always have a lot of promises in the beginning, but 9 out of 10 times it turns out to be fake and unrealistic promises, thus i think it is better if people stick with known and older projects.
362  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BINANCE AS HOLDER on: February 01, 2024, 12:13:28 PM
you can choose to empty it or fill it with a wallet address from a custodial wallet such as safepal, trustwallet, or atomic wallet,
None of these wallets above is a custodial wallet, they are all non-custodial wallets, but they are all closed source wallets and you should not use closed source wallets, so i would not recommend any of these wallets. Atomic wallet was also hacked recently and their customers are still in the dark about what happened, so avoid using it.
I just want a wallet where i can put everything there and do not touch so soon.
Then you need a non-custodial and offline wallet and not a custodial or hot wallet. Get yourself a hardware wallet, and back up your seed phrase in a safe location.
363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: February 01, 2024, 11:13:09 AM
Next season,they will be in the champions league,and with this energy and mumentum,they can go on to get to either the Semi final or finals of the champions league. My eyes are on them,because I've played my bet on them  winning the  league this season.
Lol, this is such a bold prediction and so early too. Bayern Leverkusen have been wonderful this season, but you are not even certain if they will win the Bundesliga this season and you are already predicting that they will get to the CL final next season, this is not something i see happening. Remember last season when we all thought Dortmund would win the league, but Bayern Munich ended up winning it, that could happen again this season in the Bundesliga.
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What price can XRP realistically reach this bull run? on: January 31, 2024, 10:50:36 PM
I first started buying XRP in June last year and did so in the hope it could reach $7-10 this coming bull run.
I don't think this is possible at all, the price of XRP right now is $0.5 and there is no way this pump and dump coin can pump as high as $7-10 even in the bull run. Too many people do not trust XRP because it is a centralized coin and also their court case with the sec, thus you cannot expect the kind of demand for XRP that will make the price to go this high.
I am just wondering how many of us hold XRP and what realistic price target should be this bull run?
I don't hodl XRP because i think it is a shitcoin.

City show their class today against Burnley with a 3-1 victory, well it was expected before the match, cause Burnley are no match for them, talk more of defeating them at their home ground. Man City are not giving up yet on the title they still got chances of topping the league and would be hoping on Liverpool's mistake to drop points so as to take advantage of that.
There was never a chance for Burnley tonight against the champions, i expected City to score at least five goals and not concede any, so "credit" to Burnley for keeping the scoreline respectfully at 3-1.

City are so good at chasing down teams that are on the summit, and that is what they are going to do this season, and i think they have now started their winning run, though we have to see how long it lasts. Liverpool must be consistent, when City are just a few points behind you, then you cannot afford a slip up, or else they will claim top spot and might likely not lose it until the end.
366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 31, 2024, 09:04:28 AM
On the other hand, Burnley are still unable to shake off their horrible performance even when the season has stretched into the second half, I guess Burnley are likely to suffer another loss when they play against Manchester City today.
Burnley are going to be relegated, i cannot see a way of survival for them in the EPL this season, Vincent Kompany had an amazing time in the Championship last season, but the EPL is a far different proposition and he is just finding out how difficult the Premier League is. Burnley is in 18th position and they have just 12 points from 21 games, that is definitely relegation form.

Kompany faces his old team today, in Manchester City, and it is definitely going to be their 16th loss of this Premier League season. City are good at heavily defeating Burnley at the Etihad, so we could prolly see a 5-0 victory for Pep and his men.
367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 31, 2024, 12:14:26 AM
I have confidence the Luton Town will be out of relegation zone.
Luton are very strong at home, and this win tonight moves them up to 17th position and out of the relegation zone for now, Everton played a 0-0 draw with Fulham, and that result brings them down to 18th position and back into the relegation zone.

It is going to be a tough relegation battle this season, anyway i think Burnley and Sheffield United are going to be relegated for sure, so what is left is one position in the relegation area and there are a few teams that could occupy that position at the end of the season: Everton, Luton, Brentford and Nottingham Forest, one of these teams would complete the relegation places, but i cannot predict exactly which one it will be right now.
368  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Crypto exchanges license difficulty in Nigeria on: January 30, 2024, 10:23:42 PM
If someone or group of people that wants to establish an exchange in Nigeria do not have up to that amount of money, did you think that exchange would be secure enough? There are people that would be employed for security purposes and also that to setup an exchange these days would require huge amount of money. I do not know if these people that are complaining are right or wrong. So you have anything to post about this? How much in naira do you think can be a good startup for new exchanges in Nigeria?
I can understand what the VASP guidelines is all about, dem wan make sure say at least the exchange get liquity first before they start to accept assets from their customers. The thing be say, e no mean say exchange wey get up to that amount and were able to get the license go dey legit, a group of people fit raise that amount, start up their exchange, but dem wan use am take scam people.

Having said that, i no think say any local exchange platform wey no get up to that amount for a start go fit provide good and efficient service to their customers, i know say e go get people wey dey knowledgeable about things like this for our country, but this money na hinderance to them, but the truth be say funds dey important to run this kind business, and if you no get am, maybe you are not ready.
369  Economy / Economics / Re: Leadership and Economics on: January 30, 2024, 08:16:27 PM
what about you, do you agree with the right leader can make your life as a citizen, businessman or an investor comfortable?
Bad leaders are corrupt and make bad policies, this invariably affects the life and standard of living of their citizens and it also reduces the productivity of small and medium scale businesses.

Having said that, just having a good leader alone is not enough to make your life comfortable, of course good policies would improve the standard of living and give businesses the platform to thrive, but the business owners and the citizens themselves also have to harness the resources and opportunites given to them. The fact remains that it is difficult to get a good leader these days, they are mostly corrupt and surrounded by corrupt individuals who are also part of the decision making process.
370  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was Bitcoin ETF really a good thing for growth of crypto and Bitcoin prices? on: January 30, 2024, 07:37:47 PM
I see a lot of threads here saying that now that Bitcoin ETFs are approved, it will boost the Bitcoin prices. However, that has not happened in last few days.
It has not happened yet, but it does not mean that it is not going to happen. The mistake here is that quite a lot of people want to make money so quickly from Bitcoin, so they expect the pump to happen as soon as the spot ETF's were approved, so they can make ROI and sell off immediately. The approval of Bitcoin spot ETF's will boost the price of Bitcoin, but it is not going to happen in the short term.

Having said that, the ETF approval will push Bitcoin towards centralization, because these centralized institutions are going to hodl large amount of Bitcoins, and people who buy Bitcoin through them are not actually buying Bitcoin but just iou's, and that is the wrong way to buy Bitcoin, because it is a decentralized network/currency.
371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 30, 2024, 02:28:40 PM
Liverpool must win Premier League this season, it will be sweet farewells.
I know will be an emotional thing for Liverpool to win the EPL in Klopp's last season as manager, but emotions don't win titles, they must continue playing like they are doing now, winning games and scoring goals. With a team like City breathing down your neck, you must be consistent and Liverpool have learnt that lesson in previous title races that they lost out to City.

Erling and Akanji are both back, thus City now have a complete and fully fit squad, they can now go on their long winning runs, and so if Liverpool must win the title, they must match that and even better it.
372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: January 30, 2024, 02:09:41 PM
PSG has very large financial capabilities, but we see how many years they have been unsuccessfully trying to achieve their goal, which means that money is not the only factor, that can bring victory in the Champions League.
Of course money cannot just instantly buy you success in football, there are other factors bordering on team management, club policies and the general mood around the club, these are very essential in ensuring success in a football team. For example, a club like City tick all of these boxes and that is why they have been greatly successful in recent years.

PSG have a lot of fixing to do if they are to be successful in Europe, the drama surrounding the club is too much and they need to establish harmony and let go of players who think they are bigger than the club. If they are serious in doing so, then they can achieve CL success in some years to come.
373  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which wallet can i use for my needs on: January 29, 2024, 11:31:52 PM
As a newbie you can definitely use Trust Wallet. Trust Wallet is a really good wallet to hold your altcoins and bitcoins. I myself am using this trust wallet as a newbie. This trust wallet is unlikely to be hacked if you don't give your seed phrase to anyone.
Trust wallet may be a good wallet for you to hodl your altcoins, but don't use trust wallet to hodl both your altcoins and your Bitcoins, because it is not a good Bitcoin wallet and you have many good wallet options to choose from.
It is better to use Binance Exchange instead of Wallet and its security is very tight and it has a very strong exchange, that is, no one can steal your money, no matter where it is, because its security is very high.
Stop giving advice to people on matters such as this. An exchange is not a place to keep your assets, it is a place for you to trade your assets. Exchanges are custodial platforms and if you leave your assets in their platform, then they own the coins and not you, if the exchange gets hacked you lose all your assets, if they suspect you of anything, they'll seize your assets too. Make sure to only use wallets that you control to store your assets.
374  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which wallets support 32 word seed phrases on: January 29, 2024, 09:46:36 PM
I think your uncle added more words himself. People invent their own method of security and either back up their seed phrase in the wrong order or add extra words to it, they do this thinking it will protect them from attackers, but on the other hand what it does is make open a possibility of you losing access to your funds, because you forgot how you obscured things.
375  Economy / Economics / Re: Let the air out of economy and bubble will pop on: January 29, 2024, 08:34:11 PM
the whales using the "falling locks" specially for btc so that's btc is far more safe Investment now than real estate. Becouse assets wich traded on exchangers have only limited downsides priced in monthly lows and highs.
There is no general real estate market, the cost, risk and reward of land and property differs in each country, though we can generally agree that real estate is a much safer and stable investment than Bitcoin and thus i do not agree with your analysis. Bitcoin is a volatile investment with spontaneous movements in its price, though in the long run investing in Bitcoin can accrue huge ROI for investors. It is basically up to the investor and their risk appetite, and it is also great to diversify by buying both Bitcoin and landed properties, to avoid putting all your eggs in one basket.
376  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can naira earners keep up with their BTC pursuit. on: January 28, 2024, 12:31:07 PM
Now the fee rate is low and we don’t have to worry about the amount to be spent why withdrawing down to our personal wallet, so earning in Naira or earning in dollar has little to no different when DCA
There is a difference, people who earn a salary in naira will find it almost impossible to buy Bitcoin, if you check the amount wey dem dey pay the average Nigerian these days, you go understand what i mean. The value of the naira continues to depreciate, right now $1=N1445, now imagine using your salary earned in Naira to buy an asset that is priced in dollars, how much of it wey you think say you go fit afford.

Having said that, fee rate no too dey low like that sha, e dey around 30 sat per vbyte if you want your transaction to have high priority. E no dey too high if na one transaction you just wan make, but if you go dey buy frequently via DCA, then e go dey expensive that way.
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How fast can one achieve Crypto millionaire status with meme coin? on: January 28, 2024, 11:55:23 AM
Meme coins are altcoins and altcoins are quite risky. The thing is, you never know which altcoin would pump next nor the one that is going to dump, it is basically all about luck and that is why many people refer to altcoin investments as gambling. Having said that, if you think you can get rich by buying meme coins, then go ahead and see what happens, but mind you that no cryptocurrency is a get rich quick scheme, for coins like Bitcoin that has a use case, it can fall in price, but you are pretty sure that because of its utility it will rise again, but you cannot say the same for majority of altcoins, and that's why buying them is more risky.
378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 28, 2024, 07:43:25 AM
I don't think Liverpool president will allow him to go after his contract expire than to look for a way to increase his salary which is the reason Klopp made the announcement on time to touch the mind of Liverpool president to do something fast which I know that the president will do something reasonable soon.
I don't know where you got this information from, but it is completely false. Jurgen Klopp's decision to leave Liverpool at the end of the season has nothing to do with his salary/wages, if not he'd be signing for another team straightaway. Klopp made it clear when he was making the announcement that he no longer has the strength to go again and again and he feels it is time to take a break, and definitely the break would be over a year.

Football isn't just about money, there is passion, love, feelings and i am pretty sure Klopp would manage Liverpool for free if it ever came to that, because of the love he has for the club. After this season, he will take a break, spend time with his wife and family and return to management in the future.
379  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the minimum time or interval expected to make post ? on: January 28, 2024, 06:27:24 AM
This is the posting interval limit:
Code:
waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);
Thanks for your concerns I really appreciate it. You know some campaign can make you post alot and it make one to be afraid not to spam the board even when you know you are making a quality post, but due to the way you have explained it I understand very well.
If you are in a campaign that makes you post more than what you can handle, then maybe you should look for another campaign. Mind you that you should be posting in topics you have interest in and because you want to discuss with other users and learn, if you start making posts more than your threshold because of your campaign requirement, it can lead you to spamming.
380  Other / Meta / Re: cls63 Merit Source Application on: January 28, 2024, 05:42:31 AM
If that kind of behaviour is affecting your local board that much, maybe you should start avoiding meriting those who are reluctant to keep sharing the merit, even if their posts are helpful and merit worthy? I honestly never saw any point in hoarding merit and I usually spend mine the same day I got them or in a few days max.
Those users might not be meriting posts that much in their local section, but they could be doing so in other sections of the forum, and imo that is not too wrong. Where it is a problem is if the users are completely hoarding merits and not sending them to any user,  but if they are not doing that and they still contribute to the merit system by sharing smerits to other users (but not just in their local section), then there's no need to ignore their posts.
