441  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the world soon become tired of the US dollar? on: January 10, 2024, 10:19:08 AM
Are we seeing a time where BRICS currency and cryptocurrencies are the answer to a world tired of the us dollar?
No! When you talk of "BRICS currency" you're talking about the individual currencies of the member nations, and TBH none of them is stronger than the dollar, and neither do any of these member nations have a better economy than the U.S. economy. The dollar isn't going to go into oblivion as some people envisage (or rather just wish). Do not believe the propaganda that is being spread about the U.S. and the U.S. dollar, there is no currency that is as yet fit to replace it as the world's reserve currency.

They already won something like 5 right? They won the famous treble of fa cup, premier league and UCL, I know those, and I think they won the super cup (winner of the europa) and as far as I can remember they recently won the club world cup as well. When you put all those together, it feels like they could do most of them again, shouldn't be really a big challenge.
Yeah, City won five trophies last year, it is simply amazing when you think about it; but the best part of it is there is still no sort of complacency in Pep and his boys, they want to go on and defend all the trophies they won last season, it is going to be difficult but it is something that is achievable. The CL trophy might be the toughest title to defend for them, prolly because they just one their first last year, but it is still a very good challenge and this team rises up to challenges everytime.

PSG will lose big time if they allow Mbappe to leave for free in the summer. Of a truth this Mbappe transfer has been lingering for long and no one knows exactly what's happening. Real Madrid will be very good for him but I think PSG don't want to sell Mbappe to real Madrid. I heard Liverpool are interested in signing him but I don't think Liverpool willing to his transfer fees.
I don't know what the hierarchy at PSG is thinking about the Mbappe saga, they really should have sold him a long time ago, but it is fine if they made a mistake and kept him until this time, but they should know that this January is their last chance to sell him, they have spent so much money on Mbappe, both on salary/wages and also other numerous bonuses, it is foolish on their part not to get anything if the Frenchman leaves the club. If i were Real Madrid's owner i'd not make any move for Mbappe this January, i would basically wait and get him for free.

But, don't forget that their plan is to allow Bitcoin purchases only through CEXs and ETFs, which is totally unethical and against the nature of Bitcoin.
That's the part people don't want to talk about, we cannot forget not your keys; not your coins now that it concerns a pump in the price of Bitcoin, but i guess it is what it is. Another thing is that we are only predicting/speculating how the market will move when (if) Bitcoin spot ETF is approved in the United States, we do not know exactly what will happen and if the influence would be so significant, whatever happens, i just hope Bitcoiners do no forget the true nature of the network whilst they are chasing ROI.
445  Economy / Economics / Re: Imagine African countries using Bitcoin to pay salaries, on: January 09, 2024, 07:00:47 AM
As far as I know, Central Africa Republic is the only African country that has made Bitcoin a legal tender.
Bitcoin is no longer a legal tender in Central African Republic, that law only lasted a couple of months and the country has already rescinded it, reports have it that they backtracked because of how poor the country is and their lack of electricity and other basic amenities, read the news here: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/culture/why-bitcoin-failed-in-car
Theorically it will be the best choice for economy in Africa ,
I don't see how this would help the economy, mind you that they are going to be paying the equivalent of their fiat currency in Bitcoin, that is you will be given the worth of whatever you are earning in Bitcoin, now you have to withdraw it and in doing so you have to pay transaction fees, Bitcoin is also volatile and a dump can take a good chunk out of people's salaries. This plan cannot work, especially in a poor and underdeveloped society.

Kevin De Bruyne returned strongly by the FA Cup game Manchester City played recently. A very short time after he was subbed in by Guardiola he made a nice assist.  Smiley
The return of KDB is a massive boost to City's chance of defending all the trophies they won last season, now Pep has to be careful with how he introduces him back into the team, he definitely cannot last 90 minutes for now, so he would prolly be given between 35-40 minutes per game, until he returns to full fitness. The schedule in January is less busy, so it is enough time for City to refresh and welcome back more injured players like Stones and Haaland, with a fully fit squad in early February, City will be unstoppable and go on to win the title for the fourth time in a row.
447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 08, 2024, 08:36:45 PM
This is my take on the EPL at the moment. I think it would be more difficult for Arsenal to battle it out with Manchester City now that City have got all key players back in the team. Arsenal seem to be the ones who have lost their form. Aston Villa are also firing at the moment but I doubt they can maintain the momentum for too long. Liverpool also don’t look like much problem for Manchester City at the moment without Mo Salah. Guardiola obviously have an advantage in the race.
Mo Salah won't be away forever, he will prolly miss only two EPL games or so, except he picks up an injury during the AFCON. Liverpool are strong contenders, and i think they have a very good chance to be champions this season. Arsenal will get back to form, that's for sure, but they are not going to win the EPL, Arsenal players are yet to get the experience that's needed to become Premier League champions, their time will come, and they are getting closer, but it will not happen this season. If City don't win it (and i think they will), then Liverpool will be champions.
448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 08, 2024, 08:11:23 PM
I think Richarlison is a quality striker, but he cannot prove himself. I think this season did not go as expected, and striker reinforcements are a must for Tottenham after Harry Kane. They cannot trust Richarlison alone. Moreover, they lost a goal machine. Because of this, even if there is no one-to-one change, they need to buy a quality striker.
If we are to be brutally honest, Richarlison is basically not good enough, i know he has had his own fair share of injury problems, but he does not have the quality that is required to fire Spurs to win something. Timo Werner has joined on loan from RB Leipzig, but i also don't think he is that good as well, neither him nor Richarlison is close to Harry Kane's level. The good thing for Spurs is that they have enough attacking threats, and so they have many players that can get goals for them, if Son and Kulusevski stay fit, they might be able to get into the top 4 come the end of the season.
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: “X” users are struggling as Crypto Scams in Ads,officials have no clear respons on: January 08, 2024, 04:37:37 PM
It is not new, neither is it peculiar to only X, so many social media platforms also display scam ads and you can even download scam/phishing applications in Google playstore or Apple apps store, thus it is hightime people stop depending on these platforms to filter scam ads and apps for them and start doing their own due diligence. There are basic rules of thumb like: download only from the official website, do not input your seed phrase in just any website, always try to verify your crypto downloads, etc.

Having said that, there are always going to be victims because people lack the basic knowledge about cryptocurrency security, thus the only way to minimize the damage is by posting some of the modus operandi of these scammers and also advise people to stop clicking on random links and to use offline wallets to keep their coins.
450  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Does Bitcoin need advertisment? on: January 08, 2024, 04:02:06 PM
E get plenty ways that people find out about Bitcoin, some dey see am online, other people they find out about Bitcoin from their friends, etc, Bitcoin no need advertisement because the coin get better use case and e dey sustainable for the long term, so no need to convince people to buy Bitcoin, once they find out about am, do their own research, na dem go wan buy am.

Bitcoin dey more popular in the developed countries, but even now adoption don dey choke for underdeveloped countries. Nigeria na better example, adoption of Bitcoin for Naija dey grow everyday and na so e be for plenty other African countries, and this is how adoption will continue to grow in different countries and continents.
451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: January 08, 2024, 01:43:17 PM
This year uefa champions league round of 16 is not tough, the only tough matches in the round of 16 are Barcelona vs Napoli and Atletico Madrid vs Inter Milan.
I don't think i'd agree with that, i think every match in the CL knockout stages is tough, of course there are going to be teams that are stronger and are favorites to win, but it always doesn't mean it would happen in that way, there would prolly be one or two upsets and even if there is none, the underdog teams can make the game tough and more interesting (even if they end up losing). The competition gets tougher and more interesting as it progresses, but even the RO16 can produce some cracking games.
452  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ViaBTC free slots available [1 Jan 2024] on: January 08, 2024, 07:26:08 AM
Honestly, this is so sad as I wanted to accelerate my transactions Viabtc this evening and I monitored the time so closely but yet I couldn't meet up.
Viabtc might no longer be an option, and if your transaction is opted to RBF, you prolly should use it and replace your initial transaction with a new one, but this time check the mempool and use a good fee rate. Transaction fees have somewhat dropped, at least it is not as high as it was in previous weeks, so it is better to take this advantage, than waiting, only to see it rise so high again.
If bots are the problem, why not take some action against them?
I don't think the bots are the problem, viabtc prolly wants to reduce the number of transactions they include in their block that pays a low fee rate, especially now that fee rate is high, and with all the backlog they've had in a couple of weeks, i guess it became too much.
453  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ViaBTC free slots available [1 Jan 2024] on: January 07, 2024, 10:35:26 PM
Viabtc has also reduced the free slots to 20 -- this will tighen the competition even more, rip.
Bad news, the chances of using viabtc free accelerator right now is slim to none, 100 slots were filled by bots in a wink, now with 20 slots normal humans stand no chance of successfully submitting their transaction ID's. I reckon it is only a matter of time before they offer zero free accelerations, and for one to use their accelerator, you'd have to use the paid service. So many of their blocks contain accelerated transactions that are not paying a high fee in a period when fees are high; and this could be the reason why they have reduced the free slot to 20.
454  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does inactive users deserve merits? on: January 07, 2024, 09:04:13 PM
Merit is to be issued to users of the forum who make contributions to the forum.
Merits are not "issued" per se (except to MS's), before you earn merits another user must have read your post and had the impression that this post is worthy of their merits, you could be making contributions (in your own way), and still not earn too many merits, maybe because MS's do not visit where you make your posts or for some other reasons.

Having said that, as regards either meriting inactive accounts or not, i'd say it is subjective, some people might not want to, whilst others see nothing wrong in it. The Smerit belong to the users, thus they should spend it how they think is appropriate, because there would never be a hard and fast rule on things like these.
455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 07, 2024, 07:47:08 PM
It was not a problem for City to beat Huddersfield, for them it is a weak opponent with whom there were no problems. The positive news was the appearance of De Bruyne in the second match, this guy returned to the game and this will be a significant strengthening for the team.
City are slowly getting into their best form, and it is at this time in the season that they start playing with a lot of purpose and more often than not, it fires them on to go and win as many trophies as possible. Huddersfield was never going to trouble City today, at least not in the Etihad, it was always going to be a comfortable victory for Pep and his boys, and that's exactly what was achieved.

The win will help them pick up the pace even in the EPL, they have a tough game against Newcastle in a week or so, and City will be eager to continue their winning streak, and continue extending it until they are top of the league. KDB and Doku are both back, Haaland should be available for the next game, good times are definitely ahead for City.
456  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: IMPORTANT! Always check your Seed twice. on: January 05, 2024, 09:10:59 PM
This is a simple and yet very important reminders for people who wanted to or prefer to jot down their seed phrase in a paper than saving it on a notepad.  Although I don't use this method (manual writing on a paper) since I am using electrum, I can copy it on a notepad and print it on a paper if I wanted to save a back up of the seed phrase outside my computer.
I don't understand why you would want to go through this hassle, just generate your seed phrase and write it down on paper, your seed phrase should not be written in your notepad or stored somewhere in your computer.
Aside from that I always get the private key of the address I used for receiving and then import it to just have a solo address for receiving(this is to prevent remaining BTC to be sent to other address when transacting part of the BTC held on that address).  This way I have two options in recovering the address, one is through the seed phrase and the other one is through the private key.
Using one address only is not good for your privacy and there is no need to back up a private key belonging to one of your addresses. You are somewhat complicating things imo, just do it the "simple" way, back up your seed phrase which can generate all the addresses in your wallet and keep the backup very safe.
457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 05, 2024, 04:58:49 PM
Mikel Arteta will really repeat this mistake this season and they must avoid it before it is too late and they are even further left behind by Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester City.
Arsenal are wobbling right now, but it is different from what happened last season, then it was so close to the end of the season, this time around the season is just midway through, so Arsenal has quite a lot of time to get back to their best form and challenge for the title. If you look at the league table, you'd see that there are so many teams in and around the summit and the points difference is not so much, just 6 points separates the top 5, thus nothing is either lost or won at this stage.
458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 05, 2024, 03:57:28 PM
Comeone mbappe, you can go to the real madrid. It's the only best team for you.
Lol, i think Mbappe knows what's best for him, and with his latest statement on his future, i don't think he'd be leaving in January, prolly in the summer, there's no reason why any club would want to sign him now, when they can wait for 5-6 months and get him for free. It is PSG's loss if Mbappe leaves for free in the summer, they have had many chances to make money from the sale of the Frenchman, but they have delayed and kept on giving him new contracts that are worth so much, and now only to lose him for free.

Having said that, i can't think of any team that can get Mbappe, other than Real Madrid; i know there are rumors linking him to Liverpool, but i don't think Liverpool would be ready to take care of Mbappe's wages, it is either he joins Real Madrid in the summer or he signs a new contract with the French champions.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 05, 2024, 11:39:28 AM
Boehly isn't good at doing his work in my opinion. This team deserve a much better owner such as Abramovich. You know how Abramovich's times were. Chelsea were in much better condition than this.
Todd Boehly doesn't know so much about football, he is just signing players left, right and center, their transfer policy under Todd Boehly is somewhat flawed. Having said that, all the problems Chelsea has isn't the fault of the owner Todd, the players and manager are also culpable, quite a lot of these players were bought with a lot of money and their salaries are also pretty high; thus they ought to deliver more for the club than they are doing now. Chelsea are in a transition period, and the fans must understand that it will take sometime before they get back to their previous elite levels.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: January 05, 2024, 11:03:28 AM
Real Madrid will play Leipzig very soon, and it is already expected that Real Madrid will win. By then, the players from Real Madrid will be in good enough shape to defeat any opponent they face. As for Ancelotti, I think he is an excellent coach, but occasionally he makes substitutions without thinking things through, which has an impact on the team.
Real Madrid is strong favorite to qualify for the QF, RB Leipzig is a pretty decent team, but Real Madrid would just be too strong for them, coupled with their experience in this competition, there is no way Leipzig is coming out of that tie victorious. Having said that, i haven't noticed anything wrong with Ancelotti's decisions, whether it be his tactics or even substitutions, he is so experienced and i think more often than not he gets the job done for Real Madrid.
