462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk - February 2024 in Saudi Arabia on: December 20, 2023, 03:00:17 PM
That is true. Usyk took those belts from AJ, who previously got all vacant belts from various opponents. So basically, since 2015, all the 5 belts technically are still Fury's. But I would debate that Usyk got those belt more easily. Usyk got them from AJ, Fury got them from Klitchko. Why more easy? Because Wladimir got more victories and more experienced? But he wasnt in peak form, he was about to retire. More easy because AJ had weaker opponent than Wladimir in his path to belts?

Let us not debate on that as different boxer may have different strategy employed to win. Both Usyk and Fury are great boxers, that's why they are the champions, but if you would ask the people (majority), the answer is Fury is the better fighter as evidence by the betting odds that is on his favor.

We can debate here on whatever we believe, no right or wrong because it's our personal perspective, but we can always ask the professionals perspective, and this is their answer.

I still don't get it why Memphis won that game because the game itself was insane just to watch and if you had a bet on it , this game was not for weak hearts.
You don't trust Morant? If you don't then you wouldn't believe they'll win.
Their Hero is back, he played great basketball (as usual) and just like a real superstar, they know how to carry their team on their backs to win, that's just what happened in that game.

it's also a statement for Morant spreading the message to the people that he is back.

However , game of the night was GSW winning against Celtics in OT that should return a bit of confidence back to them , especially now with 3 victories in a row.

Classic game for Curry. Although sometimes the Warriors struggle, but there's one of the days that Curry is showing his MVP status. Despite his struggle he was able to close the game for a win, he deserve the spotlight on that game.
464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 20, 2023, 08:57:21 AM
Without bet then there's no emotion attached and you're fine regardless of the result since you didn't risk anything.

You are not a real fan if you don't invest some emotion on the game we were watching. I'm sure you will understand what I'm trying to imply if you are watching sports before you learn how to bet. As a fan, we have our favorite team and players, and if our team losses, it doesn't bring us a satisfying feeling, rather we will feel a bit disapointed but it's just a temporary feeling compared to when we are risking money and we lose on it.
465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 20, 2023, 07:38:49 AM
The Golden State Warriors game was another one which didn't disappoint with Curry shooting that impossible three with 10 second left and Boston having no answers to them after that. That game did take overtime to decide it and it just ended.

Curry was back.. I didn't see him do that sleeping time meme for awhile, he was feeling it that game. Curry was playing with 5 fouls and yet was able to retain it and able to fnish the game with a win. This time, still no Draymond Green but the rookie giving a good contribution that we can't see on his stats, I'm talking about Jackson-Davis.

Lots of misses on the part of celtics, I thought they'll win this game easily, but in this game, they were outrebounded, and thier 3 point shooting was vey poor, 29% only compared to the 40% of the Warriors.

Btw, Porzingis was absent, things could be different if he was there.
466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin create an opportunity to reduce poverty? on: December 19, 2023, 09:37:44 PM
Bitcoin will not turn poor people into rich but with great opportunities that bitcoin has to offer, I can say that bitcoin could be our future that will help us not to fall on deep poverty. In fact, a lot of bitcoin investors and traders have already experience life's comfort and luxury due to bitcoin but let's not assume that it all happened in an instant, but it really takes couple of years before they come to that position.

Even with my own experience with bitcoin right now, I can say that my life has slowly improved with the help of bitcoin. But let me remind everyone that bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme, so we should avoid thinking that way like fools and ignorant ones.

Why not just do a parlay? That way you will not miss the opportunity to bet.  Smiley

It's good to parlay if you will decide to play the next game if you win, but for me, I woudn't bet on the moneyline which is 1.12 only. Magnolia lose on their previous game, so against the weakest team in the PBA now, I think they'll win and cover the spread.

That's up to bisdak to decide, I'm just suggesting though in a form of question? Smiley

The current spread is -12.5, I think this only signifies that we are gonna see another blowout win by the Magnolia Hotspots. Therefore, personally I would take this early as I have a feeling that the line will move to as high as -14.5 nearing game time.

Magnolia are good in winning via blowout, and they are not happy with the outcome of their previous game as they lose to the ROS in a close game.

Prior to that, here are the results of the Magnolia Games.

Vs SMB, win by 4 points
Vs Bossing, win by 21 points
Vs NLEX, win by 27 points

Since DYIP is probably just on the same level with the current status of NLEX and Bossing, most likely Magnolia will win by 20 or more.

Anyone get trap on the Philly's lost to the Bulls? I didn't expect that Joel will be absent on that game, and so it was a big upset and Philly's lost their winning streak as they mostly covered the double digit handicap they have in the last 3 games.
I did fall the trap but you are wrong with Joel being absent because he played in this game.

As you can see in the boxscore (https://www.espn.ph/nba/boxscore/_/gameId/401584979)
Embiid was the top scorer with 40 points, it's just that the Bulls have been playing very well recently, and thanks to Lavine being out.

Dallas also lost by a big margin against the Nuggets. I thought that the Mavs will fare good in this game, but it's the same game for them. It was only Luka and the support cast is not there to provide anything. Only Luka and Exum scored double digits for Dallas.

This one I was right, I knew that the line was a trap, Dallas after playing good basketball was given -8, that's too much, so most probably bettors were able to side the Dallas and probably some ends up betting on the moneyline.

I hate to say this, but Dallas are only good against a mediocre team, Luka can score a triple double but if his buddies cannot score at least 20 points, we know what to expect already.
469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 19, 2023, 12:37:33 PM
Back to the things on why we are here  Grin.

Phoenix Fuel Masters ML @1.51 vs NorthPort Batang Pier ML @2.44
Magnolia ML @1.12 vs DYIP ML @5.50

^^ That's the two games tomorrow, of the two games, i think NorthPort has the bigger chance of upsetting the favorites so i'll go for them
I agree with you, Bollick wasn't playing his usual game last time, so I'm sure they will make a huge adjustment this game.
IIRC, they were able to compete with the Meralco last game but only in the first half. It was a close contest after the first half but the big difference came in the 3rd quarter as Meralco outscored them big time, they only score 16 while Meralco had 33 points, that's a game changing that wasn't on their favor.

. Will bet on the second game if i won the first, my little strategy for now  Cool.

Why not just do a parlay? That way you will not miss the opportunity to bet.  Smiley
470  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I earn merit? on: December 18, 2023, 09:59:05 PM
Hello, new bitcointalk user, been around on this site for around a year or so, just never decided to create an account. I’ve seen people with tons of merit! But yet I have not a single clue on how to gain any, whilst people have thousands! Pretty much a newbie when it comes to posting Tongue. But any help works, thank y’all!
If you have been a year in this site, then you must know already that earning merits is not easily gained, but only given to those who are deserving. Take your time to study the forum first, and be as knowledgeable as you can be. Explore the forum and read all the topics that interest you. That is one way to maximize your learning in this forum.

However, getting merits is another story. You will only achieve it when you're capable already on your task. And by creating high quality posts that attract other members, then it will be easier to give their merits to you once they are starting to see value in your posts.
471  Economy / Economics / Re: Pay discrimination on: December 18, 2023, 09:34:02 PM
The government who allows this pay discrimination might not actually know what it felt on part of the blue collars unless if they were in the shoes of these skilled workers and perform their jobs. That's the only time they'll get realized and make up their senses that these kind of people should gain more respect and appreciation, and should be given higher wages instead because their tasks are not easy and demands more of their force and energy.

However, I'm not saying to disregard these white collars but I just hope there will be just and fair wages for everyone. That's the only way in order for these blue collars to develop more motivation to work and perform their jobs wholeheartedly.
472  Economy / Gambling / Re: Banned from RollBit for Italian users on: December 18, 2023, 02:33:41 AM
You need to read the rules first, if you still continue to gamble despite knowing the risk, then that means you are willing to take the risk.

Since your friend account got banned, I like to ask if the fund was release or not? Because honestly, I have no idea about how the casinos would handle the funds of the user/s that are banned, if they aren't guided by the law to confiscate it and remit it to the authority, then a just casino should return your funds so you can go ahead and look for another gambling site that would completely welcome you.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 18, 2023, 02:14:06 AM
I smell a trap game between Suns and Wizards but on the same time I really can't trust Wizards to win a game and especially to win 2 games in a row  Grin but I think they can cover the spread so taking Wizards +7.5 should be a safe bet. Also , it would worth to trow 10$ on ML as well as the odds are ~@7 and I think it will go down around 2.5 during the game as long as Wizards will keep up the pace with Suns.

What's the odds for +7.5? I think the pre-game spread was +12.5 and you took +7.5, would that mean you take a bigger odds on that particular bet?

Guess it's time for the Suns backers to take the moneyline now, it's currently at 1.84 as the Suns are down 12 points now.
If the Suns would come back in the 3rd quarter and take the lead going to the 4th quarter, it's possible that they can still cover the spread which was -12.5.

Good luck to both sides though!
474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You must have a source on: December 17, 2023, 11:22:46 PM
One reason that most people do not make successful investments because they tend to sell their investments earlier because of lack of money to spend for family basic needs or for emergency cases that need emergency funds. That is why once we decide to invest, make sure that we also have a stable source of income that we can depend even if our investments are still not in profits.

Having a reliable source of income will make you think to invest more and grow your investment, that is the advantage if you also have emergency funds reserve for emergency needs.
475  Economy / Economics / Re: my mum want to make a lot of money, money can fix everything, me hurt not import on: December 17, 2023, 08:57:39 PM
Does your mom has a lot of loans that she's being buried already and need to pay all of them? Because I don't see any reason why she needs a lot of money, or else she's having a high greed for money which I think is not good at all. And for that to make it happen, you have to compromise your safety over the last money you can get despite of the danger that could happen to you if she insist you to ride with that old truck.

What you need to do is to talk to her seriously. There's no other solution to that so she will stop nagging you for that last money. Money can still be gained in the future, but life doesn't have a rewind so make sure to live your life well. Safety first over love of money.
476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 17, 2023, 06:09:10 AM
@ralle14... Congrats on the Dallas win, nick pick!

Luka had a triple double ( 40 points , 10 assists, and 12 rebounds).
When Luka is playing like that, no chance for there opponent to win, so i guess that was easy.
Yes, Mavericks doesn't seem to be needing the service of Irving now. he was injured and yet Mavericks aren't affected significantly, they were winning and Luka was playing at an MVP level, i think he has a decent chance of winning this season. What do you think?

Anyway, I'm watching the Clips vs Knicks now and had pull the trigger for the live bet. I had the Clips at -115. now, I hope the Knicks will be tired and won't be able to come back.

Big win, you are courageous enough to take -11.5 when the pre game spread was already high. You deserve the win though, it was a 22 points victory for the home team and that was another easy win.
477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 17, 2023, 04:37:46 AM
Watching with bet used to be more enjoyable than just watching a match. When you've placed a bet on a match, it makes us watch the match and gives us the opportunity to avoid loss if things were against our prediction. Apart from the same my preference used to be live betting which lets us predict the outcome in a much closer manner.

Not for me though, when I watch the game and I see my team aren't playing well, everytime I do a live bet, I have experience losing most of the time. So it's not working for me, watching it and thinking of live betting will only make the situation worse, unless you are a professional sports bettor and you have a data to back up your pick, however, if it's "emotion-based" bet, forget it.
478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 17, 2023, 02:47:25 AM
Mavs vs Portland, I like the chances of Dallas here, they will have to bounce back, -4.5 @1.84.
I guess I also have to ride with the Mavs since I missed my chances in the other matches and their handicaps already shifted a few points higher.

Same here, even before I checked this thread I already bet on the Mavericks.
I just like them being the road team favorite against a very inconsistent TrailBlazers which they kind live up to their name as they were always trailing.

Luka already had 22 now, not even the end of 1st half, so this should be a win by the Mavericks since Luka is a GOATing again.

Warriors vs Nets, GSW is the favorite, but this could be trap for us?
It's possibly a trap when GSW is currently one of the worst teams at covering the spread (1-8 at home), while the Nets might roll them over after their recent big win against the Suns.

They are up now with a big lead, but can't be too confident they'll win as they could melt anytime.

479  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What should newbies do in trading? on: December 14, 2023, 08:14:50 PM
I'm also beginner in trading. I trade since this summer and I lost about $90 on $120 account. Recently I make $20 on last $34.
Throughout my journey in trading, I read Jack Schwager's book, watched many educational videos on YouTube, read many articles on the educational sections of CEX exchanges, and also talked with many traders. It seems to me that I understand enough about technical analysis, trading systems and trader psychology. But I'm at a dead end and don't know what to do next. Other traders advised me to just trade, but I think that over time I will lose my remaining $45, and demo trading does not bring such emotions and I don’t want to try hard when trading it
Knowledge alone cannot guarantee trading profits, experience still matters the most. That's why even if you think that you know it all, you have understand a lot and you think trading will be now easier, but in reality trading is still hard without skills and strategies being mastered. You have to trade and experience losing at some point because that will motivate you to improve your trades, and never experience more profits than losses because for most of the newbies, losing is really inevitable.

This is why I don't encourage you to continue trading even if others will say just trade consistently. If you don't know what you're doing, it's better to just stop to avoid another losses and just study and learn more about trading before you decide to trade again.
480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Young student teaching his classmates about Bitcoin on: December 14, 2023, 01:52:06 PM
Children are keen observers and good listeners, so if they are exposed to bitcoin at a very young age, I guess teaching them about bitcoin is not that hard anymore, compared to those who have never heard bitcoin before. For a 9 year old that is already knowledgeable about the basics of bitcoin, he must be smart enough to learn faster about bitcoin, and that opportunities are waiting ahead when he reaches a mature age.

Learning becomes more effective if the parents can also contribute to the learning process, hence creating clearer goals and understanding on the part of the children or learners.
