461  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: "relayed_by" addres IP on: August 16, 2019, 09:37:04 AM
IP of previous node can be obtained only by standalnone using protocol? Or is way to get that info from Bitcoin client - for exmaple by ZMQ?

I believe this is how most block explorers get it (the relay IP of a new transaction that is:) (Not sure if it's still up to date either.)

Blockchain.info lists the first IP address it sees a new transaction from.

If you aren't the one creating the transaction, and aren't accidentally the node right in between the node that does and blockchain.info, it's unlikely that you're the first to do so. Furthermore, they may not even be connected to you the whole time.

To see what transactions are being relayed, start bitcoind with -debug=net, and look for 'inv' messages in the debug.log file.
Basically: the relayed_by stat is pretty darn useless.

I'm not sure if ZMQ actually gives info regarding IP adresses. https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/40755 says only notifications for blocks/tx's.

and https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/doc/zmq.md

Might very well be wrong though.
462  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: recover multiple wallet ?? on: August 15, 2019, 08:55:05 PM
ex: wallet.dat ====> pass1 ====> no found
      wallet2.dat ====> pass1 ====> no found ect..........
Let me guess: You found some wallet.dat's online where the owner said there's X BTC stored on them, and now you're wondering if there's some easy way to crack them?

Looking at your post history:
how can you generate trillions of keys with a simple cpu and php ?
I'm sorry to tell you, but there is no such thing as a "master cracker" that can generate either billions of passwords or private keys. (At least not efficiently.)

Since to crack an unknown wallet.dat, you'll need an "infinite" word list to be 100% certain of cracking it. Trying to crack multiple unknown wallet.dat's simultaneously will take infinityx^(?)2 time. As the password could be anything.

So i guess you could potentially make a program that tries passwords (and variations of it) on multiple wallet.dat's, but it will just be a waste of time and computing power. (If we're assuming the password is atleast a couple characters long. (Which seems likely to me.))

The closest to something that you can use if you forgot your password of a wallet.dat is that which ETFbitcoin described. Even then, you'll either need to provide your own word lists, or a general idea of the password.
463  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Question about Bittrex Exchange on: August 15, 2019, 07:26:14 PM
<...>
You’ll need to open a ticket with their support and query the exact procedure and time it would take to clear your situation. Other people have undergone a similar situation using either fake or mismatched names with varying experience as can be seen here: Bittrex : Name Mismatch.
"Name Mismatch" is a very famous error happened to Bittrex's KYC in late 2017 and it's a totally different case. At that time, Bittrex was still among top exchanges and very picky with KYC. They even closed for new registration for some times. Every small difference, even a dot or a comma was deemed "Name Mismatch". But then when Binance showed up and attracted users for its low fee, Bittrex saw the threat and loosely approved all the undone KYCs. My account was a typical "Name Mismatch" victim but then approved without any of my effort.
Lol. If that's actually the case then that's just borderline scamming from bittrex. A comma or a dot? seriously? I know them and Poloniex were scammy, but were they that money hungry?

I have a bittrex account created few years ago. I just opened it yesterday after a year and I found out that I still have 0.014 btc there. I want to withdraw it but my account was disabled for some reason and it asks me to complete identity verification.

Now the problem is I didn't use my real name when I created that account and it's not allowed to change it. Will I succeed in identity verification if I submit an ID and selfie even if my profile info is not the same on the ID?

It's really a waste for a 0.014 btc or $150 just to be stuck on there.

I should not play with it. It is not worth. There are high charges for forging identity. Just forget about that account and move on.
Having an account registered under the name of "Snus Sweden" before KYC was really a thing or required really does not constitute identity forging later on when KYC is required. That'd really be a reach.

OP, after you verified your account and got your money out, ask them to delete your KYC data. I've read that especially if you're from europe (EU), they probably will have to adhere your request (due to GPDR (?)).
Not that i'd verify the account for 150$ in the first place, because really, Bittrex and Poloniex are untrustworthy in my book.
464  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Yobit paying for ads but wont pay signature participants on: August 15, 2019, 07:04:01 PM
They reopened it and also paid the participants but they can't able to move those rewards to the account balance and there ia no response from them for this issue.
There were no such announcement from their officials. The user who created the topic clearly mentioned he was not a official if I can remember correctly. So, you can not blame YoBit for this.

Did this really happen? Can you link me a thread/post/quote about this? I remember asking a few users that were in the campaign (and still had the signature after the ban) if the signature kept working and they said the payment bot stopped working.
I am 100% confident that there were no official involvement in the forum after their 60 days ban.
Not on the forum, but i think that on their website they might have refreshed the signature page and send out a message to users/and or bumped it to their front page. (Don't quote me on this though since i only heard this from other users, can't confirm it myself.)

Also their page is still up. https://yobit.net/en/signature/details/ I mean the least they could do is add an update or 404 it. This just adds to the confusion.

But hey it's yobit afterall. I do agree, users should do their own due diligence.

465  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitPay -- KYC is here! on: August 12, 2019, 03:17:52 PM
Even if they did truly delete your data, who says they haven't been hacked? Or that an employee copied their database and use it to extort them at a later stage through a proxy? I rather be paranoid than too comfortable in times where crazy things are happening with people's information. Crypto as a whole is too immature and unprofessional to take serious.
This.

The entire concept of KYC in crypto is completely ridiculous when there are billion dollar banks and EMIs who don't even have access to goverment databases, (as far as i'm aware. I think equifax is the exception here.)

Yet, i should be eager to share my passport and thus very identifying information that could be misused in dozens of different ways to a *shitty* crypto startup, (for which if things go south, no one will take real responsibility.) which probably hired some junior CS student to check them, for a payment that is way less than a second-hand car.

i remember people used to think shapeshift would never bend over for regulators. then overnight one day, we had mandatory accounts and KYC. Undecided
Worse yet, analyzing their traffic it doesn't look like it hurt them that much. https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/shapeshift.io - https://www.similarweb.com/website/shapeshift.io

If we let KYC become salonfähig for companies, instead of boycotting those who implement it, they'll probably all start implementing it. Looks like that's already happening/happend.
466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Need help please..back in February 2010, what wallets were use? on: August 06, 2019, 04:54:36 PM
This address : 1PTYXwamXXgQoAhDbmUf98rY2Pg1pYXhin

If this address bought some Bitcoin on BitcoinMarket in 2010, was it by credit card, paypal?
Were at this time those bitcoin  could be stock?

Thank you to you people for always give some answer!

I’m pretty sure that would be very hard to tell with just the adress alone.

You’ll probably need more information. (Bitcoinmarket database or a former employee?)

In his original thread i only see a reference to paypal though. I doubt they accepted CC, but i could also very well be wrong.

You mean where they are stored/who owns them? Again, probably impossible to tell. Only the site operators could possibly link someone to a withdraw adress. (Either via their paypal, or their card(?) which by the way, would’ve been trivially easy to fake back in 2010. I doubt KYC was actually even required for such small amounts.)
467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What is the difference between Segwit? Native Segwit? Legacy? Which one better? on: August 04, 2019, 01:32:34 PM
Quote

but on this wiki it reports BitStamp as not yet adopting bech32 ..  Huh
Might be outdated. I haven't used Bitstamp, but i'd be surprised if they didn't let you withdraw to bech32 adresses by now.

Edit: actually, as per May, they didnt seem to support it either: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum-docs/issues/92
Not sure if that's already changed.

Quote
and a stupid question, why is it that if it was introduced later they called it "Native", just to add some more confusion ..  Smiley
Because the bech32 implementation makes use of all the advantages Segwit has to offer, whereas nested segwit (3.. adresses) doesn't.
I'm assuming that's why they called the former "Native" because it's a more "complete" implementation.

Basically: https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/74792, and if you're interested as to why bech32 adresses are cheaper; https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/78934

ed: This site seems to give a good alternative overview of services that support segwit next to the wiki. https://segwit.support/ (Wtf Binance!)

468  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] SmartMixer.io | Crypto Mixer | Be Smart, Be Anonymous! on: August 04, 2019, 11:49:51 AM
we have built up a complex server structure behind Cloudflare.
It's been a while since I've seen "a complex server structure" being used as an argument to be trusted!

I have to ask: did you hire a bumping/spamming service to have all those accounts ask trivial questions here?

Keep thread update everyday it could very helpful for this project, because i think that will show that dev and team very respect with their investor

First post.  Roll Eyes

My question is : if this project is successful then what will you do to attract new people. Because they are familiar with other application.
Gone for months then out of the blue comes back to post this.  Roll Eyes

Looks like you got your answer. 1 minute after the other. (Which seems kind of redundant if you ask me..)

From what i can tell: either they're asking users from their telegram to ask random questions to bump the thread, or they obviously hired someone to do so.
This neither inspires confidence in their service for me personally.

469  Economy / Reputation / Re: Game-protect flag on: August 03, 2019, 08:20:45 PM
@ AdolfinWolf

Every child reading your extremely mentally ill beliefs is mentally abused! Cheesy

Therefore, public beliefs belong into the church and not on a public Bitcoin chat forum!

470  Economy / Reputation / Re: Game-protect flag on: August 03, 2019, 08:06:28 PM
None of the below listed bitcointalk accounts ever used Game Protect and therefore can not give a feedback based on facts! Cheesy
I don't think there even is a fallacy or paradox to describe what you just said.
(If there is, i'm just in general curious to know if anyone knows what fallacy resembles the "You can't critique me unless you're involved/have used my service"-esque, so let me know..)

I can also give you personal feedback on you calling me a child rapist, if you'd like: i did not appreciate that.

You're a simple fool, and so is your "business model" of blackmailing companies.
471  Other / Meta / Re: New child board for Trader Journals on: August 03, 2019, 06:21:42 PM
How about a new child board under Trading Discussion for Journals?

For Trader Journals, where people post their daily activity of trades and others can watch and comment.

What would be the difference between that and Press - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=77.0

Or the Wall Observer thread, or the Speculation board - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=57.0

Seems very "niche-y" for a complete sub-board. If you want to read people's stupid TA analyses, there's Crypto twitter, and tradingview.
Not to mention that the subboard will ultimately only be used to promote paid TA and signal trash, and we already have a gambling section.  Wink.
472  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] SmartMixer.io | Crypto Mixer | Be Smart, Be Anonymous! on: August 02, 2019, 06:09:21 PM
This project is interesting, about the idea. But I don't really understand it. Can you explain me how it works?
Google: Mixing service bitcoin, and read some articles. You'll get the gist of it.
To get you started: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mixing_service

Do you think this will be safe for hackers? Can they hack your wallet?
Unless Smartmixer somehow injects some sort of javascript into an extension or something, no.
If anything, it's far more likely they steal your bitcoins in the mixing process, since it is custodial.

(I'm not saying this is the case with Smartmixer (obviously not...), but this has happend in the past, and is still happening. Torwallet, bitblender, and countless of other small mixers.)
473  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitblender ONLINE for few hrs, withdraw all!! on: August 02, 2019, 02:57:57 PM
ok nice thank you. is there really no way to get the bitcoins back? there must be so much people who have still bitcoins on their accounts. does nobody care?
People do care, as you can see a tag is placed on his account marking him as a scammer.

Other than that, there isn't much we can do to pressure "Bitblender" to come back. He's completely anonymous, and by the looks of it, he doesn't have a (guilty) conscience.

So unless Bitblender comes back, no, your funds are lost. Scroll up & you can see that parts of the funds allegedly have already been moved through various exchanges, which makes the chances of him returning them extremely slim imo.
EDIT: it was this thread where a user claims customer funds were moved. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5153859.msg51848029#msg51848029
474  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitblender ONLINE for few hrs, withdraw all!! on: August 02, 2019, 12:53:26 PM
can you please send me his profile? i will send him a PM
His bitcointalk profile can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=229601 (If you mean lutpin or HHampuz, they definitely can't help you.)

But, as already above mentioned: he hasn't been online in a long time, so your PM will fall on deaf ears most likely.
475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Get automatically an email if a bitcoin adress is used? on: August 02, 2019, 11:54:47 AM
Thank you guys!

But is it also possible to get a SMS on my mobile phone if a transaction of a certain btc adress took place?
Possible: yes.
Easy: not so sure.

This service offers SMS notifications, but it'll cost you a bit probably. https://www.cryptotxalert.com/#service
This one is free but looks a bit funky https://cryptocurrencyalerting.com/wallet-watch.html

I haven't tried either of them so i'm not sure if they sell your data etc. Take care.
476  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Bitcoin.comwallet app deposit pending Error on: August 02, 2019, 10:09:17 AM
I have made a deposit to my BTC wallet through bitcoin.comwallet app on iPhone. . I have done this successfully before in the last few hours . However the most recent deposit I made has just been pending for hours . On the blockchain it just shows 0 transactions.

Can you deposit to a wallet that wasn’t backed up ? That’s the only thing I can think of as it was a new wallet I was depsoting to
With "0 transactions", i assume you mean "0 confirmations"?

In which case you'll simply need to wait.

If you really mean there are 0 transactions incoming to your adress on your iphone wallet, either you or the third party wallet you are using hasn't (yet) broadcasted your transaction, but perhaps already deducted the amount from your account. In which case you should probably contact their support.

(As OP pmed me saying that he bought the BTC w/ euros, and not much other details. He did also mention that he has a hash, which makes me think it's just a case of low fees?)
477  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency wallet on: July 30, 2019, 07:14:59 PM
What's the function of public and private key in cryptocurrency wallet?

In simple terms analogy I would say:

Public key is like your home address,
and Private Key is like the key with whom you open/unlock the door from your home.

You would not give keys of your home to strangers,
but your address is public for everyone, so that you can receive packages, letters, etc...

Main difference here is that if you lose keys from your home, you can break in and make a new key,
but you can not do same thing if you lose your crypto private key.
If you lose your private key, you lose your crypto so keep it safe and back up.
Unless of course you made a back up of your files, which if you use bitcoin core would be your wallet.dat, and if you use electrum/most other wallets, would be the twelve words you've written down.
So even if you lose your "regular" keys, you'll have a spare one.

To any newcomers reading this: Do not follow the link above. Do not download the wallet posted above. Just because it's on the App Store, doesn't make it safe. Many people have been scammed by malware wallets on both iOS and Android. As far as cryptocurrencies goes, Apple's and Google's screening process is simply insufficient. Only use wallets with a good track record.
2 reviews, no track record of the developer, no source code, no name recognition, no product site as far as i'm aware... Yep, you should definitely avoid this.
Their site: https://www.antiersolutions.com/ doesn't even load for me.

Looks like they were yet another *design*? solution site before they did a 180 and became blockchain/bitcoin experts.

478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help me to understand bitcoin mixing on: July 30, 2019, 03:28:37 PM
Here is a risk: If this user has some shady record then my coins are now carrying that bad reputation.

This is my understanding.
Yep. If the user before you used a "weird" exchange where he or someone else traded in stolen funds, or a gambling site, there's a chance, especially if you yourself are using a US exchange such as Poloniex(?), (by the way, how do you use poloniex without submitting your ID?) that they might start asking questions.

This is what happened with the test I did with the mixing service. I sent them my coins. They already had their coins withdrawn (say to address x) from the exchanges (Binance, Poloniex), they send me the coins from address x to my given address. In this process they make some money from the fees they charge.
If the user who you traded with used Poloniex, he's on the hook, law enforcement will know exactly who he is, and he can always link YOU to the funds. If LE wants to, they can find you(r funds). So i guess if you just want to have a bit more privacy, you could do this, but there's many flaws attached.

Also unverified binance accounts can only do 2BTC a day, so setting up a serious mixing service would be difficult. Not to mention that i don't think this is something binance will necessarily be very appreciative of, (perhaps it is even in breach of their TOS to use accounts solely for onchain transactions? especially if they're from weird sources such as "unregistered" gambling sites et al (Binance ToU 13.0))
479  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: does ecommerce website take bitcoin payments in Pakistan on: July 27, 2019, 05:04:36 PM
I mean, you can contact them and ask them yourself if you're really that curious? But in general, ecommerce websites refuse to accept bitcoin payments due to the sole reason that they don't want to deal with the volatility(even though we have services like BitPay).
+ the fact that it's probably too much of a hassle to set up, do maintenance and cybersecurity on when you look at how many people actually use bitcoin as their payment method on the web shop itself. (Which usually is a fraction of the userbase. (.x%))
480  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] SmartMixer.io | Crypto Mixer | Be Smart, Be Anonymous! on: July 27, 2019, 03:05:16 PM

The highest priority for our customers and us is that all sensitive data will not reach third parties. For this we have built up a complex server structure behind Cloudflare.

We don’t permanently store user data, only for the time-frame in which a mixing transaction is active certain data must be stored in the database to complete the transaction. But during and after the transaction, all information are deleted.

Can you also ensure us that cloudflare doesn't log any of our IPS, browser fingerprints, and then shares it with third parties such as, i don't know, the NSA, Google, (?) deanonymizing us completely?
Can you?

Hello I wanted to mix but there is something I do not understand when setting the fee. There are several pools and by clicking on the tooltip I understood that the pools contain coins from different sources. But what difference does it make? Or does it mean, that the first pool isn’t anonymous but the third is?

Hello dear smartmixer team I am new to mixing because I didn’t know that such service exist. I like your vision about privacy and I am convinced that many people should use such service. But aren’t there criminals who use your service also to hide their identity? If so, is it possible to receive coins from criminals?

Wow. These questions are asked so freaking conveniently, it almost, almost! makes me think they're asked by a sockpuppet controlled by OP.
I can already predict the answers he's going to give to both questions...  Roll Eyes

Currently, in terms of service, you are pretty much the same as all other mixers. The system works properly and I’ve received clean coins, as promised. But something is different here at SmartMixer.. I don’t know but have you seen their website? Looks really professional to me.. They woke up my interest through a banner on BMF.
BMF? Black mafia forum?
Quote
Through a simple question, of which many people actually know the answer: “Did you know the cryptocurrencies aren’t anonymous?”. For many, the alarm bells should ring. Not because they done something illegal, but because privacy is nearly the biggest reason for most people why they use cryptocurrencies. Many beginners do not know that cryptocurrencies aren’t really anonymous.
You're kind of contradicting yourself here. Not that it matters though since the message you're trying to send is extremely clear.  Roll Eyes

edit: Another question OP can conveniently answer  Roll Eyes;
When will Ethereum mixing be available? You have a good and promising features but giving some additional informations on when are we going or everyone can expect it that will really be good.
