521  Other / Meta / Re: Unionize the membership. on: July 21, 2019, 10:44:11 AM
If enough of us sign a petition using a non-reputable signature, we get unionization... let's say 50% of membership, and we can do log(xxx) level, so even mods and admins get say, with a fuckton more votes.
Or we can pull an amazon™ on your bitch' ass since unions are for pussies.  Cool

you want to unionize a forum where people simply make posts about bitcoin? Are you high? This isn't a workplace.
522  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: UNLIMITED WITHDRAWALS on: July 21, 2019, 10:41:42 AM
It’s important to note that BankDex does not set a limit on the number of withdrawals and users can easily withdraw their funds any number of times at zero cost.
Is that something special?
Doesn't every reputable exchange offer unlimited withdrawals?

Did you really need to create another thread for this?
523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: paper wallet was stolen on: July 20, 2019, 04:12:09 PM
If he has the private key, he can simply sign another transaction without locktime and broadcast that one instead.. ?
What I thought was a way to freeze a specific tx, not the private key, in the OP's case blocking the 1 btc transaction he made from being spent.

It is possible to create a time-locked address from which no one will be able to spend before a specific date or block height is reached. It looks like only Coinb.in supports this feature. Take a look at this guide or read TryNinja's TL;DR.
Really interesting, but still a rather "useless" security protocol if your private key has already been compromised. The thief could wait the blocktime out, and you wouldn't even know you were compromised until he broadcasts the redeemscript.
524  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info transaction still not confirmed after 2 days on: July 20, 2019, 12:57:31 PM
IIRC blockchain.info always choose the lowest fees to make a transaction. My suggestion is, use another wallet with RBF support, so you can push your TX when it's required. That will save a lot of your time especially if you need fast confirmations.
I think you can choose between "Regular" and "economy" or "Prioritized".

But yeah, it'd be much better to switch considering they dont support bech32 adresses, and don't broadcast/sign with RBF sequences, which is just stupid for everyone involved.
525  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Bitcoin Exchange Website - Makes $80/ day on: July 19, 2019, 07:48:08 PM
<...>
Something is wrong here.

Quote
We sell around $50 worth of bitcoin daily, And make $80 a day, consistently.
You mean 500$?

Anyways, you'd probably be a fool to sell such a system, if it were to exist, as no one else in the market has such a system you could have a monopoly on paypal payments. (And it doesn't as far as i'm aware..)

This exchange transfers PayPal to bitcoin, While being chargeback proof by using our automated anti chargeback system.
I'd actually be interested in perhaps solely buying your anti chargeback system, (not for 700$ ofcourse) but i have a feeling this system is not as foulproof as you make it out to be.

Do you have a demo? What does this system protect against? How? Does it retroactively protect, or actively?
Does it collect and uniquely identify users, check if a user is verified through the paypal API, and then what else?

How could it possibly protect against someone opening a dispute, or charging back through a bank account or credit card?
526  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which hosting to choose for streaming? on: July 19, 2019, 04:12:24 PM
I'll upload anime videos for streaming and won't get any alerts from hosting provider?
Alerts as in copy-right notices?
Your best bet would be somewhere offshore. A quick google search gives multiple providers.

Still though, they could probably seize your domain too in that case, right?
527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin-qt QXcbConnection: Could not connect to display on: July 19, 2019, 01:47:50 PM
How exactly did you install bitcoin core on ubuntu? Is your main OS Windows 10?

If you can't connect to a display, and you're running ubuntu localhost, you'll need to install a X-server.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/vcxsrv/

Then run something like

Code:
echo "export DISPLAY=localhost:0.0" >> ~/.bashrc
. ~/.bashrc
https://seanthegeek.net/234/graphical-linux-applications-bash-ubuntu-windows/

Just tried and it worked for me.

528  Economy / Reputation / Re: Freewallet.org Flag - Please Support on: July 19, 2019, 10:48:50 AM
And what’s wrong with the KYC? Shouldn’t it be done in case to protect users from scamming?

How does KYC protect from scamming?

To my mind, only the true-users can pass the KYC procedure while scammers will fail it. THey won’t manage to provide all the private info to claim that an acc and money belongs to them. Am I not right?
You're not right. You can buy photoshopped or even hacked documents for as little as 30$ per document.

Without access to either a government database or some heavily developed AI, it's as good as impossible to see the difference between a hacked/photoshopped document and a real one.

Quote
THey won’t manage to provide all the private info to claim that an acc and money belongs to them.
This is false, since you will only be asked AFTER your account is "hacked" - there's no identification given to freewallet prior to your wallet being compromised, thus freewallet can never differentiate whether the info is A. real, and B. matching the actual account owner.

So any identification will do.
529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: paper wallet was stolen on: July 19, 2019, 10:22:35 AM
Perhaps it would be useful to set a time lock to prevent someone from spending your coins before you want. Could the attacker come to know it and get around this obstacle?
If he has the private key, he can simply sign another transaction without locktime and broadcast that one instead.. ?

I don't know of any wallets that lock "adresses" or private keys rather, from spending funds, as that's just not possible, AFAIK.
(Since the attacker could simply export the private key into his own wallet & broadcast.)

530  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buying Amazon Gift cards with BTC? Beware! on: July 18, 2019, 08:54:29 PM
That's why an escrow or a middleman is always handy when it comes to this situation. Having a trusted escrow holding your funds to await the product from the other side assures you that you won't get dupe by them. So for newbies who are trading to other members who aren't that known yet with their trades are highly advice you to spend a little extra when it comes to trading, because you will lose more if you get scammed by them.
No it actually doesn't.
The giftcard code can be perfectly valid at first, only to be canceled by amazon at a later date due to carding/cracking.

So the deal can go go through without any problems, and still result in you getting scammed and ending up with a disabled amazon account.
531  Economy / Services / Re: Get offer a job of Financial Coordinator Carre Four to buy bitcoin for company on: July 18, 2019, 02:02:59 PM
They post it and delete the ads in Indeed.com already.   I only have the copy of this ads in ZipRecruiter.com.  I actually received over $3000 in Zelle in my US Bank checking account.  I withdraw it and buy bitcoin in the bitcoin ATM and sent bitcoin to them followed by the instructions.  I don't know that they will claim in Zelle to reverse back money from my US Bank checking account.

That's bad. You're most likely laundering money for them, or layering it somehow for them. (Or it's indeed from a stolen card, in which case a chargeback might be possible.)

I'd report the transaction if i were you, and state that you weren't aware of it being possibly used for nefarious purposes. Perhaps they do something about it, perhaps they dont.

Better advice:
You should probably consider getting a lawyer now.

I don't think Zelle transactions can be reversed. I could be wrong though. - https://money.stackexchange.com/a/87298

I apply for this job.  I saw it posted in Indeed.com.  I don't hire or recruit anybody how can I rip off someone.
It's the other way around. YOU ARE getting ripped off.

It is the job Financial Coordinator.
I go to the CarreFour website http://www.carrefour.com/ try to contact them.
I email to    presse_groupe@carrefour.com and presse_france@carrefour.com in English and French.
I don't get any reply.
I go to CarreFour facebook website to ask in English and French.  I still don't get any answer yet.

Because your job doesn't exist.

You really think they let someone with just a high school diploma handle such delicate things as financials and or take meetings with clients? I can only interpret that as a joke.

Quote
There are no CarreFour stores in the US and we're currently developing to join the US market.
Hiring for online position "Financial Coordinator" - working with investors.
Stores like that would never hire a parttime for that. that's insane.

This is most likely a shady company trying to use you to buy and sell funds off the books, as loycev stated already.
533  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [p2pb2b.io] The next generation cryptocurrency exchange [IEO (STO) for Startups] on: July 18, 2019, 11:57:04 AM
Why did Valerii Solodovnyk choose Estonia rather than Ukraine for this scam?
That could be quite easily explained: Better crypto regulation, lower taxes, less interference from goverment, better business climate. (Not sure if you've noticed but there's kind of a civil war going on in the Ukraine.)

Not defending P2PB2B, but this isn't necessarily a red flag.
534  Economy / Reputation / Re: Freewallet.org Flag - Please Support on: July 18, 2019, 10:56:07 AM
I'd like to draw the attention of everyone in this thread that the referenced issue was closed on Friday and the customer could withdraw his funds.

And what do you do with the money of people that don't speak out against you after you subject them to a "random" KYC check?

Per your TOS you can just claim that, right?
We treat all the issues equally no matter if they are spoken in public or not.

Huh Equal as in, you claim the money after x amount of time, or you don't... ?

Anyways, if only you hadn't advertised your service as a wallet, but rather a changelly-esque style exchange, a lot of these arguments mentioned above would've been avoided.
(Though i must note that asking for KYC after someone performs a transaction is still scummy behaviour, whether legal or not, and rather absurd if the transaction doesn't include fiat and or gateways to fiat.)

Again, Your TOS is still ridiculous though. I'm not sure where you're based, but i'm pretty sure you can't just claim funds of customers that you deem to be "Fraudulent".
535  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buying Amazon Gift cards with BTC? Beware! on: July 18, 2019, 10:12:32 AM
I never understood why would anybody sell thousands of giftcards at half of their value.
One of the main reasons for this is to buy Bitcoin anonymously. You can buy gift cards using cash and then use those cards to buy BTC without exposing your bank account or personal information to risk.

Sorry but I still don't get it  Smiley , probably because I\ve never dealt with them.

But you say that that gifts-card can be used to buy BTC anonymously, this being a main advantage of the users.
So, why would you sell those at such ridiculous discounts when there is demand for them?

I'm confused about the huge discount some seller advertise, not the actual usage.
Because the sellers take enormous risk taking these cards probably? Which is why there's a 30-50% markup rate incase the card is carded or later to be found invalid or in some other way "bad".

Which really doesn't make it a good way to anonymously buy bitcoin. Unless of course you don't care about paying a 50% premium.

But indeed, that doesn't explain why someone would sell the giftcard for 75% of their original value, and i actually rarely see reputable sellers selling these giftcards for less than 90% of it's value.

536  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [HELP] ways to analyze a currency on: July 17, 2019, 08:23:47 PM
I created a low-supply coin and did not do any kind of ICO with bonuses, bounty, airdrop, to preserve the value of the coin, and not have those hundreds of people selling the coin and dropping its price, how would you indicate being disclosing the currency and website that look at the quality of a currency and the project?
Anyone can make a copy & paste coin.

"Preserving it" doesn't add any value at all, if anything it makes it even more worthless. (As copy & paste projects are already worthless.)

A coin, or currency, only has value due to people putting their money into it, either to use if or because they believe it will go up even more.

People only do that because they see a future in the currency, either because it has a lot of features, or partnerships w/e.
no one ever got interested in a copy pasta coin due to it being "preserved"...

537  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to accept BTC directly and integrate into an e-commerce site? on: July 17, 2019, 06:02:00 PM
Yes, you can do this completely using open source code. The complexity of the solution depends on your requirement. Feel free to read the below article that summarizes this

https://blog.blockonomics.co/accepting-bitcoin-do-you-need-a-payment-gateway-832487d3b84c

Do you know any example website where does this work, also some real feedback is desirable?
thanks
I think almost all websites use any of those solutions listed in the blog, so any website where bitcoin is accepted really.

PIA, G2A... etc all use their own node to generate invoices instead of a third party i'm pretty sure..

Either they use Bitpay/Coinpayments, or they have their own node.

Hello, konungbarber

Thank you for you message.

Could you provide in PM your e-mail registered at p2pb2b.io, please?
Hello.

Could you please make official statement here regarding the matter of blocking accounts without any explanations? It will be useful for your future users.

I've already called your office several times, and operator just told me "Please wait, we will reply to you by email".

And still no reply.

Looks like an easy way for exchange to get extra "profit" from users - my account was holding about 0.15 BTC at the moment of blocking.
Please open a scam accusation in the right section with proof, and i'll *probably* tag p2pb2p, or perhaps you could even open a flag against them.

P2PB2B are russian scammers.
Enough said.

Are you sure you didn't send <50 SEM?

Although- https://semux.info/explorer/account/0x3ced649fbbce02397bdc7edfaf87bc12ac6eafa4 this does look like it received 50 Sem.... This block explorer is a bit confusing, or perhaps i'm retarded.
539  Other / Meta / Re: Cryptios on: July 17, 2019, 01:49:00 PM

Admin...

Just a question,... If, only if our accounts has been compromised and locked.
What would be the possible steps that we should follow for those users (like me) who have BTC Addresses that can't be signed a Message?
Pray to what ever you believe in that you have a PGP key staked somewhere. Otherwise i don't see how you can claim the account is yours.

Or the admin must really go out of bounds to let you for example send a small amount of coins from an adress that you posted somewhere on the forum eg; for a bounty/signature campaign.
I don't think they do that though. I believe that in the past, if you didn't stake an adress, you were simply out of luck, and your account is/was unrecoverable.

540  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Roger Ver: Starting His Own Crypto Exchange? on: July 17, 2019, 01:07:42 PM
As for the website (https://local.bitcoin.com) it seems a half-hearted project to show people BCH is widely used when the reality is it is only a market place, hardly a real exchange.

I actually think it's a decent alternative to LocalBitcoins(due to KYC). Fortunately and unfortunately though(depending on which side you're on), I don't see local.bitcoin.com to be up and running without KYC/AML for long at all. If it gets big enough, it will receive the same government treatment that localbitcoins received.
Unless they don't adhere US/EU laws, in which case it should be interesting to see what happens (?)

I'm still waiting for a P2P platform that isn't hosted in the US/EU.

Both paxful and LBC are, and i really don't understand why. Wouldn't it be much smarter to incorporate in Seychelles/Vanuatu/Another offshore country? Less taxes, less regulation that you have to push upon your customers..

It's not like you need a bank account anyway, as all your "profits" are in BTC.
Perhaps i'm thinking wayy too simplistic about it.
