1021  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: "We found 2 results related to your search" blockchain.info is crazy. on: February 08, 2019, 01:14:11 PM
They're a business which is trying to saturate both sides of the market, as they really don't care what coin you support. They're simply just trying to grow, and then collect fees from people from buying btc and other alts through their platform.

Exactly. People forget that these businesses are, well, business! Which existed in the first place to make money, not to push personal agendas.

One thing to note is that Roger Ver, (the man who is arguably the person behind BCH), is an angel investor of blockchain.info .

You really have to ask yourself if he really isn't pushing any agenda. It still sure looks that way. They never added litecoin/any other fork to Blockchain.info, why did they add Bitcoin Cash -- just because roger is a large stakeholder?
You tell me.

I just checked blockchain.com again and when i enter Bech32 SegWit address, blockchain.com also says "We found 2 results...." which is ridiculous because BCH don't use SegWit

https://www.blockchain.com/search?search=bc1q4w024sesxqwusxf3g8nwm3jp29umpcxx2fhwse or https://archive.is/TjRPY

While in fact the addresses have 0 BTC & BCH balance (according to blockchain.com). Not only they show wrong exchange rate (or they haven't implement API/back-end yet), but misleading user that the address contain 5 BTC and 5 BCH
That might be, but for business which has run for years, this is surprising and funny at the same time.

We're talking about blockchain which known for slow upgrade / support. They even haven't support Bech32 SegWit address on their blockchain explorer yet.
Can't imagine how long they'd fix this problem Tongue
Huh. You can search for the adress, but when you click it, it is redirected to the main hub as it includes an "illegal" character.
Here i was hoping they finally added bech32 support  Roll Eyes
1022  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is the best device for mining on: February 07, 2019, 07:06:50 PM
what is the best mining device in terms of profit and price ?
i want to know how long i can take advantage of the device??

Asic mining is pretty good. But personally I don't have the time and space to run the rigs myself. Also the electricity price is pretty high in my country. Have you ever thought to get shares in any already profitable mining company? There is one you can get shares through STO, EliteMiningInc. Have a look at the website https://elitemininginc.com
No, no, no.
Don't do this OP. If you're going to mine, always buy the hardware yourself. 99.5% of all these cloudmining sites are a scam, and nothing more than a ponzi.

A quick look at the link above leads me to believe that that site's operation is very sketchy as well. I wouldn't use them. They use stock photo's and some random talk about investment rounds without any clear evidence.

I don't even think individuals can invest. (Which is a good sign, although their site is still very ponzi-esque...)
1023  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: Display risked bitcoin amount on profile. on: February 07, 2019, 03:46:08 PM
Disagree, just like all the others... If this proposal would make it to production, and the *sshat that gave me -ve ever makes it to DT, i would show as having risked about 1 million BTC. I doubt anybody that wanted to do business with me would bother to check out his link and find out it's completely a completely offtopic, wrong and insane feedback from an a-level troll disguised as an honerable member.

There is no way to factcheck these inputs and avoid abusers to enter massive amounts without any proof...
I don't see how this is an argument really. An *invalid* rating is an invalid rating, regardless of the amount of bitcoin wagered.
You could make your argument against the entire trust system..?

 - Which would be weird, because the chances of a troll who is leaving fake ratings to get on DT2/DT1 seems extremely small?

You have an interesting idea. But will it lead to an increase in fraudsters?

I think that the system of trust in the form which it is now makes it difficult to find users with a good reputation in commerce. It would be good if the existing system were divided into two components:
- a system of trust for abuse
- a system of trust in commercial matters.
It will probably most definitely increase the amount of unnecessary loans/trades people make with users on DT1 just so they can up their % bitcoin risked, for whatever purpose they may have.

Also, as jack mentioned, this system would only work one way -> For "Positive deals".
1024  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Who currently has more subs? on: February 02, 2019, 09:46:02 PM

never heard of the two listed above before.... do you have any experience to share?
Not really.
In their primetime a license for one of these bots was 1000$+ i think, and i never really had the need for something to automate my trades.

They're kind off on their way out it looks like now that bitcoin has fallen so much in price. I see people offering Gunbot licenses for 50-70% off.

1025  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Who currently has more subs? on: February 02, 2019, 12:10:00 PM
Hmmm. I've never heard of any of the bots listed here. The only bots that i know, and are i *think* are also the ones that are most popular, are both C.A.T.[1] and GUNBOT[2].

Both of which you seem to not include..? Why?

1026  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: G2A prices on: February 01, 2019, 06:02:52 PM
Don’t use G2A.

I would advise everyone to avoid Kinguin and G2A at all costs. They don't care about their costumers and are actually hated by the whole PCMR community.

A quick overview on how shit they are: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/wiki/keyresellers

https://www.polygon.com/2015/2/9/8006693/the-truth-behind-those-mysteriously-cheap-gray-market-game-codes
https://www.polygon.com/2017/5/5/15372962/g2a-marketplace-news

You should also take a look on what you actually need to do to disable G2A Shield (a system they use to grab people's money for several months without them knowing): https://imgur.com/gallery/PUwPC

I, too, have really mixed feelings about them. Not necessarily because of how some vendors may or may not get their keys, (which is ofcourse a bad thing.)

But also because as you mentioned,

- if you use paypal, you'll automatically (?) subscribe to their monthly G2A+, which is like 5.99$, (They billed me like 30$+ before i found out!)
- If you use Bitcoin, there's roughly a 2/3 chance (my experience!) that the payment won't go through, and you'll end up making multiple support tickets to Bitbay & G2A, (which takes weeks because i'm obviously not using their ScamShield™)

Too bad that for legit keysellers, there isn't much of an alternative, and that steam is not accepting bitcoin (directly - GC, i know.) anymore... :/

I see what you mean though, a 10$ Xbox GC is 7.5 EUR = 8.6$. That's what, 14% off?

That's a lot, even for G2A. However, i could draw up multiple scenario's in which the seller could've received the Giftcard in a totally legit way, but then again, also multiple where it could be fraud.

It could be that the seller either received them in another trade (I've seen lots of users online selling Giftcards for Bitcoin @ 10-20% rates), or they might be carded/scammed from other users.
I don't think anyone can say for sure that they are/aren't.

1027  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: ///YOUR PAYPAL TO MY BTC/// on: February 01, 2019, 03:50:42 PM
I have a method for you to exchange your paypal for my btc funds.
Fee 10%-20% - depends on amount you need.

Agree with this forum escrow.
For more details contact telegram moitures_essential or email moitures@outlook.com or skype live:f14c30ab222fed19
10% might be acceptable by few person but 20% can be only acceptable by scammer. It is because 20% is not a small amount.

Yes friend. Because this is scammer!

Original Post

And this accaunt - him fake!

This man is a scammer! Be careful. I gave him the codes from the google play. Did not pay me $ 1000!!!

Uhh wait, let me get this straight, - you send him 1000$ worth of google play codes out of the blue, without using escrow whatsoever?

That seems rather.. odd? How exactly did he scam you?

10% might be acceptable by few person but 20% can be only acceptable by scammer. It is because 20% is not a small amount.
Agreed. OP should take extreme care in choosing which deals he wants to pursue. Any newbie is most likely simply going to chargeback the paypal funds.
1028  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos It's time to make blacklist for upcoming DT selection. on: February 01, 2019, 03:42:54 PM

that restriction makes it centralised and gamed easily by a few colluders merit cyclers. However it does not really make too much difference there are plenty of other ways to make it known that red trust abuse will not be tolerated.
This restriction isn't the sign of centralization. Its a requirement to be eligible for participation. Obviously who have earned 250 merits got much acceptability than others. So here IMO vast experience & previous works history makes the difference only.

Yeah in your vast experience and previous works your humble opinion is valid right?

Haha what an entertaining post in so many ways. Previous works and history? yeah that is why there are noobs all over DT. Lol not centralisation just requirement for eligibility... is that some joke? in this case it is the same thing. The people awarding themselves and pals merit support the same pals on DT

Wrong, 250 earned merits are mostly cycled junk from no more than a tiny tiny subset of cyclers for the most part. It is quite observable by bpip and the dt inclusions list these are colluding. There are elder legends here with less than 50 earned merits that are far more trustworthy and make far better posts.

Please stop hanging around meta  merit begging and get out on to the real discussion boards like most noobs here. People don't generally join a board to discuss how the board works.

I'd be inclined to agree, and disagree with OP. -- As others have already mentioned: if there is a need to blacklist people, instead of letting them being voted out by participants of the system, it seems like there would be something wrong with the system, rather than the user.

-- We're not banning scammers either, so why would the forum need to intervene in such a degree in determining who is trustworthy, and who isn't? I can only see this causing problems & irregularities.
1029  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Binance Enables Debit and Credit Card Payments on: January 31, 2019, 05:28:31 PM
Having the option to buy using creditcards is definitely good; even though I've read somewhere that Coinbase is actually cheaper than Binance when buying BTC using fiat. But whatever; good news nontheless. I'm just wondering how they're going to fight back the potential credit card fraud and stuff, also knowing that KYC isn't required on Binance.
This.

Is it actually enabled for non-verified accounts? - Can't find anything about it?

I can only imagine the amount of chargebacks that'll be done if they allow it to be used on NON-Kyc verified accounts.
Which kind of makes me wonder if they will try to push KYC verification on every account anytime soon, although, i guess i'm just slightly paranoid..
1030  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: January 31, 2019, 05:13:48 PM
will do it! thank you.

How stupid is it to argue with me and let me make take over the thread for advertising the competitor.
If it shows anything it's that anyone with more than 2 braincells can see that "our" competitor hires braindead posters to advertise for them, which should definitely be something to take into account when thinking about using their service.

You're only discrediting the service you're advertising for by fueling your anti-CM fetish imo. I don't possibly see how you making libelous claims is in any way beneficial to said competitor. But if they pay you for this, hey, be my guest and good luck.
1031  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: January 27, 2019, 12:24:25 PM
LoyceV claims it happened before, so I doubt it's a recurring glitch.

--

It did happen before, and the only comment given about it was that the renewal process is done manually.

As to the why, i don't think anyone has ever gotten a response regarding that. Perhaps they know something we don't  ?

1032  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transfer from Coinbase to Ledger Nano S on: January 27, 2019, 12:07:29 PM
That's probably the change adress belonging to coinbase.

You see -- coinbase didn't have an input that was EXACTLY 1.01515817BTC, so they had to spent a bigger input. It's simply their "change", their leftovers, which are "send" back to them.

-- Google it for  a more detailed explanation, https://support.exodus.io/article/109-what-are-change-addresses

Quote
Second question: does the public key/address change everytime after a transaction or does it remain the same?
With most wallets it probably does change. I'm not entirely sure if this is the case for the ledger, but i wouldn't be surprised if it was.

This is to preserve your privacy a little bit more. (Although in most cases (consolidation of funds/spending multiple UTXOS) it won't do that much.)

If you use the same address each time you receive funds, it becomes easy for anyone to track your entire payment history. This method of address generation improves privacy by automatically presenting you with a new address when you’re expecting payment.
1033  Other / Meta / Re: I think I spotted my hacker on: January 27, 2019, 11:58:37 AM
It's not certain that merit receivers are the hacker. They may have bought merits too. Theymos may reversed the transaction since he has done it once previously.
Well, that's immoral either way?
1034  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Www.bitwinex.co _ Is it a SCAM ? on: January 26, 2019, 10:58:15 PM
What is it with all these newbies finding all these obscure exchanges?

No, i haven't heard of this exchange, and i definitely wouldn't use it either.

- No traffic - https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/bitwinex.co
- They report an insane amount of volume on their site, which either is external volume not coming from them but from another site (?) or fake.

Their project seems to have died MONTHS ago, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4645318.80, and they since removed their ANN.

Don't deposit a penny, unless you want to lose it, in which case, there is also an adress in my profile you could send coins to.

Shocked Shocked

Selling my 1 year old localbitcoins account for 25$

When you have paid, send me your email so i can change it, then you have access to all the info and can change password and twofactor

proof:
https://i.gyazo.com/8888ddae7c17268014643da5bdeab70c.png

 Shocked Shocked

You're essentially selling your KYC for 25$, free to be misused by anyone, you know that right?

I doubt a charge of wire fraud, money laundering, w/e, can ever be worth 25 bucks, can it?
Or did you use a fake ID to verify this account? Anyway, it doesn't seem like something that should be sold, is it?
1036  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Create Poker Tables and Tournaments Instantly! on: January 26, 2019, 11:19:25 AM
Hmmm. No HTTPS and the site looks really, really basic.

I'm not entirely sure if you're going to gain a lot of trust/users this way.

Good luck anyhow.
1037  Other / Meta / Re: How to check potential activity of bitcointalk account? on: January 26, 2019, 10:38:32 AM
That's it.
Since merit introduced activity lost importance.
Furthermore, your account's post history shows that you are hardly to get Merits.
Another minus point is that your red trust.
Together, it means you are probably really hard to get merits, and activitty count will not make sense.

Sorry, is it about my account? I don't get your point?
I just ask about kind of script or method to count potential activity.. I ask about that, because i'm curious if it is possible.

The answer has already been given, scroll up!.

I don't think that there are any websites existing anymore which can automatically calculate this, so you'll have to do it by hand (or build a small program.)

You registered on Oct 17, 2016. Every two weeks after that your period refreshes.

Simply check in how many of those periods you've made at least 1 post in, and voila, there's your potential activity.

Now i myself was too lazy to check exactly how many periods you posted in with a calendar, but looking at your post history + adding up consecutive postings, i'm guessing it was between 11-13 --(Which means that you'll have between 154-182 potential Activity!)

Is there some application, script or maybe some method to check or calculate potential activity of Bitcointalk account?
If you don't want to, then use achow code.
Is his old site opensource?
1038  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Fplus.ai on: January 25, 2019, 10:53:33 PM
I can't seem to figure out what it is that this site offers? Is it an exchange? Is it a site that invests your money in crypto markets and then gives you X returns every week (that's what it looks like to me, and that's usually a big red flag!)

Anyways,
- it has no traffic. - https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/fplus.ai
- Site loads slow and looks like a theme script.
- Formatted poorly.
- The only thing i can find from them is this video which is 6 months old, which literally does not show anything. -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpDxAbAExHs

I have no clue how you found this site, and i sure as hell wouldn't use it for whatever purpose it might be.
1039  Other / Meta / Re: I need information on data on: January 25, 2019, 06:41:24 PM
Without getting access to statistics directly from the database (which i kind of doubt that you'll get, since it would still be quite difficult to chain an IP to a certain country (certainly resource extensive?(?)), but who knows!), I don't think this is possible. (The only kind of stat dump that i know of is that of merit/trust?)

Your best bet would probably be to use;

- https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/bitcointalk.org (Probably need premium to get better stats)

They may be wildy inaccurate though, and you'll probably only get % of countries, as opposed to more detailed statistics. (Still, i guess you could kind of convert those into numbers.).
1040  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: A meme project - Feedback on: January 25, 2019, 10:23:51 AM
Thanks for your feedback!  Cheesy

The difference is the incentives in cryptocurrency you get filtering only the best content.
We're taking all the advertisement money on our platform and redistribute it to our users.
So the main difference is that you get paid selecting the best contents on that image sharing platform.

As all the shared images are gathering in the fresh page, the users can also invest on a content they think will become trending/hot, and if the content does go to the hot page, they get more incentives.

What do you think?  Smiley
I’m not sure where you are getting that advertising money from, but to me it really does not sound like you have a sustainable business model here.

People who are genuinely interested in “memes” will simply stick to Reddit/9Gag/w.e, leaving you with essentially people who are doing PTC on your site, without you getting any revenue from it?

Doesn’t seem sustainable at all, but maybe i’m missing something?
