1261  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling 300$+ CSGO Skin for 250$ btc on: October 15, 2018, 07:41:09 PM
There is no such telegram: VeidtINXT.
Also my offer is 200-220$ depends on the corner of the knife

Yea, forgot that I changed the handle. I just updated it. @VeidtBravo
Why don't you use the likes of Bitskins? Does it have a specific float value which makes it worth 300$? I'm pretty sure you'll be able to get more than 220$ for a 300$ knife on Bitskins.
1262  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie mining question on: October 15, 2018, 04:02:41 PM
Listen to me ,it is possible through nicehash miner ,just benchmark your pc with nicehash and it will select the most profit algo for your CPU and you will get paid in bitcoin ,you will only get paid when you reach minimum payout threshold, I've tried this and it works.
Actually, this heavily depends on where you're from (and more importantly, how much you're paying for your electricity.)

You can have one of the newest CPU's (6700 series), but if your electricity is above 0.1USD/kWh, you're not going to make a profit.

See;

1263  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ReggieBot Trading - Day 33 - ( Live Twitch Stream ) on: October 14, 2018, 07:52:59 PM

Just giving everyone an insight as to why this bot was created. Judge for yourself whether or not this is someone you trust with your money.

Update: the unhappy user did not contact our office, did not reply to this thread or did not contact anyone on our discord channel.  There is absolutely no evidence that any of his claims are true.  This was nothing more than a mean-spirited attempt to add a bad google search result.
Whether or not his claims are true, the above image displays that the creator of the bot is most likely a liar.

He has been in the following industries;

- "Wallstreet"
- Music
- Newspapers/Media
- Social service (Charity?)
- CryptoCurrency (Since 2009? WTF.)

He's either Elon musk/Jeff Bezos, or lying.

The only people who were involved in Bitcoin back in 2009 were a couple of cryptographers. Certainly not bankers on Wall Street, (which most early adopters of Bitcoin hated. It seems that "BotGuy" has a complete lack of understanding as to why bitcoin was created in the first place.).

Bitcoin was nothing. There were only maybe 100 or so really-active Bitcoin users before the Slashdot coverage in mid-2010 or whenever. I used to read every single post made to the forum, and pre-Slashdot this was very easy.

Almost all of the very early Bitcoiners were libertarians of some sort and mostly interested in the political and economic aspects of Bitcoin. I actually can't think of anyone besides myself, Sirius, and Satoshi who put all that much thought into the technology before mid-2010 when people like ArtForz, Jeff Garzik, and Gavin came around
As per the owner/admin of bitcointalk.

And then ofcourse a sob story about how he simply wants to help everyone on this world. Ironically he claims he found a way to do this by making you essentially gamble your money away using his (paid!  Grin) tools. Because, let's face it, that's what this is. There is no way to 100% accurately predict this market..

If he really wanted to "Help out poor people and improve the world/reduce poverty", he would've made a foundation, or be a board member of some reputable charities such as UNICEF/w/e. He most certainly wouldn't be some random guy in a discord trying to sell subscriptions with some sob stories as to how he is "trying" to improve the world by doing so.

Just my two cents.

After more than a million miles flown, I came to understand that limited access to financial services is the common thread among all impoverished people.  To increase one’s access to the opportunity to grow wealth, even in a small dose, is to give that person the opportunity to improve their quality of life.

You must've been some ignorant motherfucker, holy shit.   Cool You had to fly a million miles just to find out that life is unfair?
1264  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please read this on: October 14, 2018, 07:27:50 PM
Recently I received a 3 day ban for the merit request in a private message, but I'm a beginner and not too familiar with the rules, I think it's too cruel that I should have understood from the 2 people I asked told me only one can't do that, and the second decided to punish me bad trust, it's like a child put in a corner, why flog him, maybe he is standing in the corner understand it.
"ignorantia legis neminem excusa" --

I would also like to address the large members of the forum, take a look at this project, I presented it as an example
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3103301

This man made a really good project, created a cryptocurrency exchange, but for some reason he is a newbie, which I tend to, to the fact that over time on the forum we will get a lot of decent people who build a blockchain, but they will have the ranks of newbies, I want you to pay attention to this, because some people really deserve +1merit, for what they do for blockchain technology
Looking through the thread you posted, there are a good amount of people who are commenting that are Sr member+, yet none of them feel the need to merit the topic.
(Maybe it isn't really as gripping as you say it is?)

I've personally never heard of Greencoin, and looking at their exchange, https://greencoin.online/market/GRN-USD, i must say, it looks pretty bland and extremely basic.
Not something that i'd deem "Innovative/Refreshing."

Take a look at this project; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1840789.msg18316056#msg18316056 ANN threads of decent projects can/will definitely be merited.
1265  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Where is the "New" button on Receiving Addresses of bitcoin core 0.17.0? on: October 14, 2018, 04:07:30 PM
Umm am I just being really thick or has the "New" button in the Receiving Addresses window of bitcoin core disappeared in 0.17.0?

I think you need to press "Receive Payment" now, and that'll generate a new receiving adress (every time you click it).

See the picture below;

You can go to File > Receiving adresses and it'll show up there too.
1266  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins not Received on: October 14, 2018, 04:04:07 PM
Yes I've contacted Dream market support but they haven't got back with me yet
As you don't own any recovery seeds nor private keys, this is the only thing you can do.

It's pretty weird that it hasn't been credited yet. That's something which really shouldn't happen at all with any service, ever.

Have you checked if you have used the right onion adress etcetera?

Seems like there are more people with such issues -- https://deepwebnetwork.com/threads/money-never-arrived-to-wallet.307/
1267  Other / Meta / Re: New Ranking Requirments on: October 14, 2018, 11:47:57 AM
-1 Unnecessary. 99.5% of all the "Shitposters" won't make it past Jr member anyway. This is just restricting the average poster even more, which is not something i think the forum should do.

What's the difference anyway? Another ≈≈100 activity/merit for each rank starting at Full Member? I think the forum really has more pressing issues to adress than this.
1268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best Rest api bitcoin merchant with low fees? on: October 13, 2018, 08:29:49 PM
Do you mean something like Bitpay? https://bitpay.com/api (?)

Quote
BitPay provides a standards-based REST interface which enables application developers to interact in a powerful, yet secure way with their BitPay account. Using the BitPay API, clients can create and manage invoices, issue refunds, manage bills, retrieve real-time rates information, view merchant ledger entries, and much more. Developers may call the API directly over HTTPS using the language of their choice, or take advantage of one of BitPay's Node.js, PHP, and Ruby API clients.
I'm not entirely sure what their fees are, and if you really want to use them, since i'm pretty sure you'll be forced to use BIP70 aswell, which can be quite inconvenient for some customers..
1269  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to increase bitcoin without trading? on: October 13, 2018, 07:29:51 PM
Someone here mentioned lending.  So this is legit?  So are you guaranteed you get the btc back?  What is the minimum/maximum btc you could lend and how long?  Example let say you have 1 btc you want to lend.  So if you lend 1 btc for a month, how much btc would you get back?  Do people lend a short time like a week or its usually at least a few months?  So if someone lends 1 btc for 6 months, how much btc are they looking back to get?  Most importantly, the other party can't just take your btc and not give it back to you right?  Is it backed by the exchange?  Well what happens if that person who borrows doesn't pay back exchange?

If you're using it with an exchange such as Poloniex, yes, unless Poloniex gets hacked, you will *generally speaking* always get your interest + lended amount back.

The lender will automatically get liquidated if his account exceeds the amount he needs to pay you back.
(Sometimes when the market is in a free-fall, he could be short a bit, since he probably won't be able to liquidate exactly right. but this is pretty rare, and i haven't seen it happen personally. Not that i've used Poloniex's margin trading features excessively, but hey.)

The interest on these services however is extremely low, + i wouldn't trust Poloniex.

Lending on the forum can be quite dangerous, as a lot of users will simply not pay you back and basically sell you their collateral, usually not for what it's actually worth.
I've always looked Argus-eyed at the Lending section, and still wonder how lucrative it really is.

Another option you have is investing in the bankroll of Cryptocurrency casino's. I haven't tried this myself, but it looks pretty ludicrous, which is making me very tempted to try this out in the near future.

See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2445163.msg46443989#msg46443989

Might be something you want to look into.
1270  Other / Meta / Re: Negative Merit on: October 13, 2018, 05:57:51 PM
How do you even get negative merits? Are you some sort of wizard?

I don't really get your question to be honest either.

I think he is referring to negative trust.

Aside from having this "trade with caution" tag and not being accepted from most bounty campaigns, are there other punishment/s given to a forum member with negative merit/s? Do they get a temporary ban from posting?
Not that i'm aware of.

The forum doesn't moderate scams/scammers. The community (DT rather..) does. It'd be weird to have forumwide implications (a ban), on something that has been decided by the community (DT2+), when the forum explicitely states that this isn't actively moderated..
1271  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bounty Manager Reputation on: October 13, 2018, 03:31:21 PM
Good day! How would I check if a certain manager has good reputation or not? I am currently trying to search for bounties and making sure I would join those legitimate ones. Thank you!
You can take a look at their feedback. Prominent campaign managers such as

Darkstar, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=507936
Yahoo, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=355846
Hhampuz, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=881377

All have a lot of postive trust feedback. This is usually a pretty good indicator of someone's reputation here on the forum.

All other factors such as account level, amount of posts, vouches of newbies, etc can all easily be doctored with, and shouldn't be used as an indication of trust.
Something that also makes a signature/bounty campaign much more legitimate is if there is a certain amount of coins held in escrow by a trusted forum member.
1272  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to add money to my bitcoin core wallet? on: October 13, 2018, 09:46:38 AM
sorry im total noob, how am i supposed to do this?
Google it.

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=How+to+buy+bitcoins+in+country+X

Then, you can transfer the bitcoins you bought on an exchange such as coinbase, bitstamp, w/e to your Bitcoin core wallet using the "Receiving Adress" that you discovered when you opened up this topic; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5048934.0.

The process of moving your coins from exchange X to your bitcoin core wallet should be pretty straightforward, but you can always google some guides if it's not clear enough.

1274  Other / Meta / Why has this topic been removed? on: October 13, 2018, 08:06:02 AM
So i just woke up and saw that this topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5046279.msg46807757#msg46807757 abotu MIXERCOIN has been deleted all of a sudden.

I can't really fathom why, since the topic was quite informative, not spammy at all,  and really showed the utter ignorance of MIXERCOIN.co

Could the moderator who deleted it give their reasoning behind doing so?

EDIT: The modlog, https://bitcointalk.org/modlog.php, states the following;

Quote
Remove topic: New service of mixing BTC MIXERCOIN.CO in topic #5046279 by member #2424570

Does this mean that the OP deleted the topic, or that a mod trashed it and OP's ## is given as the one who deleted it because he is the topic starter? I'm not exactly an expert on how this modlog works..

(I'm pretty sure however that you can't delete topics in SA?)
1275  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitrefill not working? on: October 12, 2018, 09:09:53 PM
I tried to buy a voucher for a friend but It's doesn't seem work, I can load my account just fine, I login etc. but when it comes to buying, I can't bypass this step. I can click "continue" but nothing happens afterwards, I tried clearing cookies as well. but that didn't do the trick. I also tried multiple vouchers just to test (Xbox, Steam and others) but still nothing.
Works for me totally fine. Did you try changing your browser or something? I used chrome and tried the steam voucher. Was able to go through the payment. By the way, just found out they sell USD vouchers. If you are looking for steam gift cards you can try steamgamesbtc. They also have few other gift cards too. The admin has a good reputation here.

Bitrefill works fine here too.

I'm using Firefox if that matters at all, with no extensions whatsoever.. Maybe try switching IP's/Browser? I don't see what else could be causing this other than a faulty adblock/some error with your browser.

I'm trying to replicate your problem, and have instead found some other issues.. When opening bitrefill on Safari/Internet Explorer, the site simply doesn't load in..  Huh

It otherwise works perfectly fine on Chrome/Firefox/Edge for me...
1276  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New service of mixing BTC (MIXERCOIN.CO) on: October 12, 2018, 05:14:42 PM
I think mixercoin didn't really enjoy the discussion here when started his topic so he started a new thread with same topic (almost the same title) in the same day. Unfortunetly, he received posts yesterday in that second thread: Here the link to it:
New service of mixing BTC MIXERCOIN.CO : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5046279.0

Well, even if you're an anonymous mixing type I would expect a reasonable amount of politeness and professionalism rather than lobbing back questions at people in a churlish manner. Either the creator of the thread stubbed its toe before answering every post here or they're not the type of person worth dealing with.

I'll wait for 11-12 years of flawless operation before considering giving them a go.
Luckily for you, they've already been in business for over 3 years. Only 9 more to go? http://archive.is/2kxdl#selection-4427.0-4427.40  Roll Eyes

1277  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Running cgminer as a service of some sort on: October 12, 2018, 03:56:05 PM
I have a Linux box and first of all, my Linux skills, I would consider to be basic.  I have had some exposure to the terminal and sudo… Currently my Linux box sits idle (normally without a monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.) for a different purpose but it is underutilized so, I started running CGminer for a USB miner through a terminal session.  However, every time there is a power outage, I have to manually re-login to the box and execute the terminal session, enter the command line and minimize. It would be nice if when my Linux box reboots, it re-establishes the CGminer application either as a service, auto login, or something…  Are there any suggestions?

Distributor ID:   Ubuntu
Description:   Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS
Release:   14.04
Codename:   trusty

You'll need to write some sort of script for that probably.

There are a lot of resources about this online, but they all seem a bit outdated maybe.

Something like this? https://unix.stackexchange.com/a/156559

Quote

put the following code into : /etc/init.d/rc.local:
Code:
/home/pi/cgminer-4.5.0/cgminer -o http://xxxxxxxxxxx -u xxxxxxxx -p xxxxxxxxxx

Obviously the version numbers etc are all outdated, paths are not correct for ubuntu, but i'm pretty sure handling it this way should work. -- It's worth a try.

Or some of these scripts?

@Jenexesh i am looking at the post you quoted from BotGuyLast.

I wonder how anyone is able to trust this guy.

Quote
I, as a student of cryptocurrency since 2009, completely understand these reservations.  The common assumptions make sense on a superficial level.  I am not offended by these questions and welcome critical thinkers to our community with open arms.

He is  a ''student'' of cryptocurrency (bitcoin?) since 2009?

The only people who knew what bitcoin was back in 2009 were cryptographical enthusiasts + a really, REALLY small amount of programmers. Bitcoin really didn't gain any traction at all until 2010/11. This story is highly doable.
See; https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3lqtn0/what_was_bitcoin_culture_like_back_in_20092010/cv8q3kr

ReggieBot was born years ago to serve my own Wall Street trading office’s need to make ridiculous sums of money in legacy markets.  I used to fall into the trap of the opening questions: I reserved it for myself, thinking I, alone, was somehow entitled to its benefits.  But as I did this, my quality of life was worsening—I just couldn’t see it until I took my trip and saw the world as it is.
LOL. He is  both a trader on wallstreet and someone who has been following "Cryptocurrencies" since 2009? Is this guy Superman or what? Those two (especially in 2009/2010) really were opposites of each other. (Traditional bankers v Libertarians.) I don't think that ANYONE who was involved in bitcoin back in 2009 also was running a multi million $ company that operated on Wall St.

Quote
I travelled around the world over the next several years, visiting more than 120 countries to learn why quality of life is a struggle for most people.  My eyes were opened to the truth that my ignorance veiled: access to financial services, and therefore, capital to develop opportunity, is reserved for a small and fortuitous few.
120 countries? rofl.

And thus you came to the conclusion that creating a cryptocurrency bot that let "poor" people gamble (because that is what it is. NO one is able to predict the markets 100% accurately. Anyone who says otherwise is a scammer.) was the ultimate solution to solving poverty/improving QOL? Seems legit!

Quote
The truth is that 87 out of every 100 people on earth survive on less than $5 USD per day.  Poverty is the antagonist to quality of life.  Therefore, the reduction of poverty became my passion.
On my journey around the world, I delved deeply into the pursuit of understanding poverty and how in the modern age it can still exist.  After more than a million miles flown, I came to understand that limited access to financial services is the common thread among all impoverished people.  To increase one’s access to the opportunity to grow wealth, even in a small dose, is to give that person the opportunity to improve their quality of life.
Holy crap. You're actually so delusional. This has to be satiric right?

If he is lying about this, he is probably lying about other things as well. Seems completely untrustworthy to me.

Update: 18 hours later and no contacts to customer support have been made.

-snip-

-snip-

Damn. All of you are quick to attack someone's accusation, but don't bother to explain how exactly your bot works/answer/explain your service. That's peculiar.

Here another "newbie".
I've been in the Discord channel since the beginning and I'm also running the bot. And I've not been liquidated nor I have seen any dispute about this on Discord...

Seems like 2 newbies are trying to defend this Reggiebot.

I would say that no people or person would really make such complaints if he hadnt experience any problem with your service. If he do have some
complaints then most probably theres something wrong.
Ah, have you made 1000% profit already? You have no previous post history, and have been inactive for a year. Tell me, how exactly did you find this thread so fast? What brought you here, you shillmaster?
1279  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: My gut feeling tells me MIXERCOIN is a scam on: October 11, 2018, 07:53:54 PM
I've stumbled across this mixer earlier today as well, and was pretty astonished as to why someone would make such a product.

I have a feeling this is probably just some kiddie playing around with a script that he bought for a couple hundred bucks.
The script doesn't support nominals and defaults at 0.001, doesn't recognize bech adresses, the FAQ is written in gibberish and stuff like "YOU BITCOIN ADRESS" are all indicators that this mixer really shouldn't be taken seriously.

Quote
MIXERCOIN follows a similar pattern: claiming to have very high (in this case even unlimited (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5046051.msg46658073#msg46658073)) funds, but refusing to sign a message. This is how they respond to valid concerns
Their script/template allows you to mix over 100k BTC. That fact alone makes this site completely untrustworthy.

I don't think anyone has used their mixer yet, (rightfully so!) so i guess i'll try them out with a really small amount later today to see what's up.
Looks like the minimum amount to mix is 0.01BTC, I'd rather not waste that much on a joke.

The mixing process makes it more difficult for them to reveal your digital imprint (your addresses and balances) and therefore protects against third party influence on your personal life.
Yet they route their traffic through cloudflare? -- https://who.is/whois/mixercoin.co

I'm not exactly an expert on this, but i'm pretty sure that isn't improving user-privacy & anonimity, considering the honeypot Cloudflare is/could be.

Also, go to their api docs, https://mixercoin.co/service/api/v1/docs (Those too, are pretty comprehensible.. My god.  Cool)

1280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Messy Private Keys Dump on: October 11, 2018, 06:24:49 PM
I don't think you're able to derive adresses in Bitcoin core itself from an (outside) XPRIV key. You'll need to use another library to do so.

See:
https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/52384/how-to-restore-bitcoin-core-hd-wallet-private-keys-by-master-key

Which lists this as a tool to do so; https://github.com/prusnak/bip32utils, but this tool is no longer available or has since moved. This should work aswell? https://iancoleman.io/bip39/
(https://github.com/iancoleman/bip39) (Always make sure you're running this safely!)

I haven't exactly tried it so i could be wrong.

You can then obviously import all your private keys generated with such a tool using

Code:
importprivkey

A more detailed guide can be found here:
https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/5941/how-do-i-import-a-private-key-into-bitcoin-core

Quote
<some key> 2018-04-26T17:08:10Z change=1 # addr=<some address> hdkeypath=m/0'/0'/699'
<some key> 2018-04-26T17:08:10Z change=1 # addr=<some address> hdkeypath=m/0'/1'/947'
<some key> 2018-04-26T17:08:10Z change=1 # addr=<some address> hdkeypath=m/0'/0'/86

The <some key> should be importable, (as i presume this is a "change" adress.) Try using above method to import these and see if it works.

I'm not exactly an expert on Bitcoin Core, but the

Quote
<Some Random Text(Not sure if it's a key)> 0 script=1 # addr=<some address>
