1201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How run multiple nodes in regtest/testnet mode on a single machine? on: October 24, 2018, 03:39:34 PM
OS:Windows 10
Bitcoin Core Version:0.16.0

How run multiple nodes in regtest/testnet mode on a single machine?
I want to test.

You mean something like this? https://olivermouse.wordpress.com/2018/01/13/connecting-multiple-bitcoin-core-nodes-regtest/

This might be a better answer. https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/39168

Quote from: https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/39168 By Jonas Schnelli
You probably want to run multiple bitcoind instances in regtest to simulate multiple nodes. Thats pretty easy. You can run a second instance by starting bitcoind with a clean data directory and a different RPC and P2P port.

For that, you could create a 2nd data directory (example: /tmp/datadir2). Create /tmp/datadir2/bitcoin.conf.

Use something similar than
Code:
regtest=1
rpcuser=rt
rpcuser=rt
port=12340
rpcport=10340
discover=0
Now you need to connect your first node with your 2nd node by sending a addnode over the RPC interface.
Code:
bitcoin-cli addnode 127.0.0.1:10340 onetry

You can than distinct between both nodes with the -datadir argument while calling bitcoin-cli.
Code:
bitcoin-cli -datadir=/tmp/datadir2/ getinfo

Some examples:

generate coins in first node (50 BTC available)

Code:
bitcoin-cli generate 101

get address from 2nd node

Code:
bitcoin-cli -datadir=/tmp/datadir2/ getnewaddress

send coins to 2nd node

Code:
bitcoin-cli sendtoaddress <address> 10.0

I'm pretty sure you can add as many nodes as you want. Simply add another dir for each of them.
1202  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING to anyone considering purchasing ReggieBot - SCAM / FRAUD ALERT! on: October 24, 2018, 02:30:00 PM
Such a sheep.  You make a declaration that this is a lie.  Care to actually provide evidence?  Might be tough, since you don't know the individual you're accusing, nor were you ever around this scene at this time.

Russell's teapot. There's nothing to prove for me, and i certainly can't disprove something that has never existed in the first place.

Digital currency has been around since the 1980s.  Major firms and banks have been using it, experimenting with it and studying it religiously since the 1990s. Where do you think the original operating system for credit cards came from?  Your foolishness is on such public display, and it makes me wonder: are you and the original poster working together, since neither of you can provide any evidence other than conjecture and opinion?
Stop twisting, strawmanning, what i (Or you previously) said.
Quote
I, as a student of cryptocurrency since 2009, completely understand these reservations.  The common assumptions make sense on a superficial level.  I am not offended by these questions and welcome critical thinkers to our community with open arms.
I wasn't referring to "Digital Currencies", hell no. This was about crypto currencies, as can be seen in the quote above.

Your foolishness is on such public display, and it makes me wonder: are you and the original poster working together, since neither of you can provide any evidence other than conjecture and opinion?

Actually, it's you, not me, that is twisting words, not providing any facts/evidence that the imaginary "Jeff Bezos-esque" guy who's "running" ReggieBot is actually real.
I'm not saying that you have to do so, but one must be crazy to expect that anyone believes any of this crap. You really need fairy-tale level imagination to believe this.

Now that your credibility has been demonstrated to be no more than the OP's, it's time for me to ignore the trolls.
Luckily you and the creator of ReggieBot are oh so credible. So credible even that you don't need to strawman, or send shills into this thread, show unverifiable/non evidence (Discord logs/SS).
  Roll Eyes

Good luck with your gambling bot and any future endeavors you may have, although, why bother? You're already living like a billionaire, right?

On my journey around the world, I delved deeply into the pursuit of understanding poverty and how in the modern age it can still exist.  After more than a million miles flown, I came to understand that limited access to financial services is the common thread among all impoverished people.  To increase one’s access to the opportunity to grow wealth, even in a small dose, is to give that person the opportunity to improve their quality of life.

1203  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING to anyone considering purchasing ReggieBot - SCAM / FRAUD ALERT! on: October 24, 2018, 12:02:55 PM
I know what happened. You know what happened. You can deny it as much as you want, but no amount of denying will change the fact that you scammed me, covered up the evidence, and "coincidentally" changed the ReggieBot algorithm to a "safer" method where it makes ZERO profit in the last 10 days. Because you know if enough people got liquidated, you'd be unable to cover it up anymore.

It's so obvious that you made up the entire story of ReggieBot to sound impressive and cool. It's an AI system created in 2012, but it can't even trade Bitcoin without liquidation an account in 24 hours, and now it can't make any profitable trades in 10 days?

That just doesn't add up, no matter how you try to wrap your mind around it.

Instead of just admitting you did something wrong and refunding me for the money you scammed, you're sticking to your story of "I did nothing wrong! The customer is making it all up!"

Which is ridiculous. And you know it.
how about the picture which was shared above your latest post ? Seems like you are just trying to blackmail them
The picture really has no merit and proves nothing though...

Anyone could photoshop that and there's no way for anyone to verify whether or not that's actually been said except these two parties, which have *every* motive to lie about it/cover it up.
(Same goes for the picture shared by Jenexesh ofcourse.)

And so the truth is known.

Come talk to real people on our discord channel, folks, and get the true story.  This thread is a joke.
Your, obviously, biased truth..?

That is a fantastic creation!

Neither of those users have ever been members of our discord.  We welcome the public to see for themselves.  The user logs are public and can be seen any time.  A person who takes the time to look at the user logs will see that neither of those users ever existed.  Nice try.
With user logs you mean the "join" log? That too can be deleted..?

Fact is that creator of this bot lied about such trivial things, which in my eyes correlate to being extremely untrustworthy. (Being involved with crypto/bitcoin since 2009 while simultaneously running a wallstreet trading service among other things...)
(I'm referring to the previous post i made.)

1204  Other / Meta / Re: 333eth SPAM/Ponzi on: October 24, 2018, 11:01:26 AM
It seems to me that many members of the forum have outdated concepts about the Ponzi scheme. In order to conduct a dialogue in the right direction, we must first give a clear concept of what the Ponzi scheme is. And where, besides financial pyramids (as this market was dubbed), is it still used at the state level?
Only after that, it will be possible to scatter the terminology of Ponzi and brand everything in a row.

US Dollar - Ponzi Scheme?

https://333eth.io/ is a ponzi scheme. You can deflect all you want on other projects such as the US dollar, it really does not make your project any more legitimate.

And for the record. US$ are not (part of) a ponzi scheme imo.
US Dollars are backed by future taxes on future US GDP, be it in gold or in US Dollars. The independent Fed also sets Monetary Policy so that we have a very controlled 2% inflation target and a healthy economy with low unemployment.

Your service has none of that. Except a referral system and the following interest;

Quote
The calculation of your interest is in equal parts every 10 minutes, totaling 2%-3.33% daily from the sum of all of your investments in the smart contract.
I get 3.33% a day, spreaded over 144 payments a day? (1 payment every 10 minutes?). That together with compound interest seems ABSOLUTELY ridiculous, and 100% unsustainable?

1206  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Circle and Coinbase are partnering to improve the stablecoin concept on: October 24, 2018, 09:44:14 AM
I'm pretty certain that the "idea" will be executed better/more transparent by Coinbase than that it will be by Bitfinex & Co.

I mean you literally can't do it worse than Bitfinex did.

They allowed no audits, no checks, and they just pumped up random USDT whenever they feel like it, with no warning previously to it whatsoever.

https://www.coindesk.com/tether-confirms-relationship-auditor-dissolved/

Add that to the fact that Bitfinex for years allowed shady practices like wash trading on their platform, i think it's definitely better that a more professional entity has control over such a coin.

This is not the right board for your topic.
1207  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tormail. How reliable and efficient is it? on: October 23, 2018, 07:54:04 PM
I don'n know what you mean . What is a tormail?
It was an anonymous email service which has since been hijacked and taken offline by the FBI.

You can read more about it here, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tor_Mail
Quote
The following month, details emerged of a zero-day JavaScript attack, which was injected into the Tor Browser Bundle based on Firefox ESR 17 if JavaScript was enabled as it was by default. JavaScript was turned off by default in updated versions of Tor Browser Bundle. However, this was used during the takedown, which was exploited to send users' IP addresses and Windows computer names to a server in Virginia.[3][4] In January 2014 it was confirmed that FBI has access to Tor Mail servers.[5]

In January 2016, it was stated that innocent TorMail users may have also been hacked by the FBI.

If you want to use something similar, i think today's equivalent would be https://protonmail.com/, if used with PGP & Tor/A good VPN provider.

Very reliable and good service, as far as I know.
I heard a lot about it, but I do not use it myself.
Use something more popular and reliable

That's funny, considering that it was seized in 2013..  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
1208  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Yobit is scam or Ponzi! on: October 23, 2018, 06:46:39 PM
Well, investbox is a new feature of yobit exchange and I think this feature is imitated of poloniex.
I have a bad experience using this exchange before like stuck coins or lock withdrawal and there are many altcoins that actually made only for pump and dump.
Since Yobit is an exchange site I think we can call it a scammed exchange, not a ponzi because ponzi is like a pyramid scheme.

How exactly is the feature imitated from poloniex? Does poloniex offer HYIP-esque stuff like this? They're under US regulation, so i highly doubt it. How exactly did you draw this comparison? Poloniex's margin trading? Seems extremely far-fetched to me.

They're definitely up to something, or just have really, really bad customer support.
They aren't up to something as long as they continue to generate profits from noobs not caring about anything. I'm more worried about what happens when they aren't generating profits anymore.
That being said, those investment boxes look so sketchy.

Free coins for doing nothing with no risk involved is basically how they market it..?

Which means that they're either giving out coins that are worth absolutely nothing, or they're running some sort of charity scheme..? (That's not the Yobit i know  Roll Eyes)

Quote
It’s a tool for devs to promote their coins.
So every dev that can copy & paste can run his/her pyramid scheme facilitated by yobit? Does anyone actually use this? Who the hell wants to end up with all those worthless coins?
How yobit could think that this was something to prioritize over decent customer support baffles me.

Looks extremely scammy.
1209  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Yobit is scam or Ponzi! on: October 23, 2018, 04:59:51 PM
Also yobit running pump group several time to time which gives idea to us that it may be scam or they may claim that they have been hacked to stole money which has been deposited by the investor of crypto.
You mean that they randomly pump their own coins? https://t.co/RIbW7OhKzM, https://yobit.net/en/pump/timer
(Which is in violation with SEC legislation, btw, https://www.sec.gov/fast-answers/answerspumpdumphtm.html )

Not that Yobit would care about that, since they're allegedly registered in an offshore haven somewhere in Russia. (Can't recall exactly where i got that information from..  Sad(If someone could fill me in that would be great!) )
Also. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3054442.0 Any update on this story?

Anyway, there's dozens and dozens of topics regarding YoBit being fraudulent here on the forum. They're definitely up to something, or just have really, really bad customer support.

1210  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do Bitcoin Transactions Work? on: October 23, 2018, 01:26:36 PM
Bitcoin Core (BTC) was created to function as peer-to-peer electronic cash. Bitcoin Core transactions are messages, like email, which are digitally signed using cryptography and sent to the entire Bitcoin Network for verification. Transactions are public and can be found on the digital ledger known as the blockchain. The history of each and every BTC transaction leads back to the point where the bitcoins were first produced.
The way you said "Bitcoin Core" (BTC) instantly made it obvious that this was/is a copy paste from the Bitcoin Cash shillmasters..

1211  Other / Meta / Re: Registration for beginners on: October 23, 2018, 11:47:05 AM
That wont do much. So yea it might require you decent knowledge to pass the "exam", but then what? A few days later then the answers would be leaked, rendering the "exam" useless. If they don't read the rules, then too bad for them. They will be banned in no time.
This.

What's so hard about just reading the goddamn rules once or twice?

A special exam won't do anything except making the forum look extremely childish to anyone that comes here out of sheer interest in bitcoin, instead of making money from bounties.

Quote
(social network) then at least there will be less spam and the moderators will feel easier. What do you say
How does an exam = less spam. I'm sorry but i am simply missing the connection here...? Do you have anything at all to back up this hypothesis?

Spammers will simply find a way around it, while "real" users might be turned off by those childish tests/w/e you want to call them.
1212  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinNEWS.blog — portal created for the crypto community on: October 23, 2018, 10:24:55 AM
It looks more like a indexer for bitcoin prices in "weird" languages than a blog.

You have 4 english articles, and those are all from CCN/blockonomi.

Furthermore i've clicked "English" and still all of your UI is in Russian/Cyrillic.

You also have 10 different price indicators/calculators/recommended fees/markets. If i wanted to know these, i would simply visit coinmarketcap...? They seem extremely useless to me.

It seems like you want to do everything on your site.

- Be a blog,
- be an event scheduler/manager (such as coinmarketcal.com),
- be a price indexer (such as coinmarketcap.com),
- be an ICO indexer (such as icoalert.com ?),

I don't think that this is smart/going to work.

Also, why is this still in russian when i've put it to english? https://bitcoinnews.blog/wallets ....
1213  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin issued per year formula on: October 23, 2018, 09:25:36 AM
I don't understand your math to begin with.

There are 24*365 = roughly 8760 hours in a year. A block every 10 minutes, 8760*6 = 52560 blocks.

52560 * 50 = 2628000 Bitcoins?

If Bitcoin delivered 50 coins every 10 minutes (600 seconds) the first year, then it should have delivered 50 x (1577000/10) = 7885000 Bitcoin the first yea
Where do you get this formula from?

If you account the increase/decrease in hash rate, (or the lack of blocks mined in the first year of bitcoin "existing",) this number may vary slighly when looking on a shorter period of time, otherwise, this should be pretty correct?
1214  Other / Meta / Re: Gag Order? Trump's a Russian Agent on: October 22, 2018, 08:09:14 PM
Overall, the only thing that makes sense is a gag order or biased administration, which I highly doubt the latter.
It's funny how you have the mentality/paranoia of Alex Jones, but the exact opposite political views.  Roll Eyes

Theymos is pretty libertarian. The last thing he'd do is censor people without a reason. A gag order? signed by who? Trump himself? That seems.. Excessive..

If I remember correctly, Bitcointalk operates from the united states. The United States can't exert authority over foreign nations to "gag" their media or forums
I'll just tune in to CNN if i want to hear that Trump is a Russian asset...?

1215  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Decentralized exchanges on: October 22, 2018, 05:20:27 PM
well the only decentralized exchange i have used is https://wallet.crypto-bridge.org/ and i had a lot of problems with my deposits because of some daemon problems they said, i needed to wait like a week before i got my deposit into my account = lost money so i am not touching any decentralized exchanges for some time.
They are the future, but not the current.
I would just go with binance if i were you tbh

Yep. For normal bitcoin -> altcoin trades, i would definitely use Binance. The DEX out there are simply too wonky for me.

However i do know that there are some decent decentralized exchanges out there if you want to trade Ethereum -> ERC20 tokens.
(I think (https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/forkdelta/) is the most popular one?) Or https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/idex/ ? I'm not exactly an expert on these, so i might be wrong.

They're especially useful if you want to trade relatively unknown tokens. Otherwise, i'd stick to binance for now, until they themselves release their DEX..
1216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ICO on: October 22, 2018, 02:10:38 PM
Is it real to find promising ICO nowdays? On what ICO should I look now?
Yes, you can still find good ICO nowadays if you just know how to find them. I may suggest to go for this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4528038.0) and look for their project. Their projects are good basing from the feedback of the users here in the forum. Just check their project and then joined which suits you best.

You may also take a look of this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3085997.0) and try to read the feed backs of the users on each team or bounty managers.

BTW, you should not also forget to read these threads on how to spot 🌍[Guide] Prevent scam!!! Some useful tools for find scam / fake ICO team 🌍]https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4586576.0]🌍[Guide] Prevent scam!!! Some useful tools for find scam / fake ICO team 🌍 being started by Coolcryptovator]https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1980983]Coolcryptovator for better understanding when joining bounties.

Just because a project is shilled a lot here on the forum doesn't mean that it is good..?

Also what has the feedback of bounty managers to do with anything?
1217  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Exchange Base - Anonymous Bitcoin Exchange on: October 22, 2018, 10:33:40 AM
it sounds great, but if i lost my password and forget my account ,how can i  find them back ?

Maybe look in your history for references to your account name? Otherwise, check your email accounts. I haven't used this exchange but i'm pretty sure almost every exchange (including this one) sends out a confirmation email to confirm your account before you're able to use it.

Not that it matter very much, because this exchange is dead. https://exba.se/ doesn't work.

http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/exba.se.html

The domain registar info also doesn't give much confidence..
https://who.is/whois/exba.se

Seems like they've already shut down?

Seems like they moved domains to here, https://exbase.net/login still, the site looks sketchy at best.
1218  Other / Meta / Re: Unused smerits shouldn't be destroyed but sent to merit sources after 1 month. on: October 21, 2018, 04:04:03 PM
I just quickly gone through with merit dashboard and found out that there are 44 Hero members still didn't sent any sMerit from their initial airdrop of 1000 Merits and also there are 44.133 Merits (around 22K sMerits) hoarding by those 44 Hero Members alone.
The airdrop was 500 for 95% of the Hero members,  not 1000, and i'm pretty sure the sMerit that was received from the airdrop was absolutely not a 2:1 ratio. (So 500 Merit ≠ 250 sMerit.) It was wayy less.

i see, any recommended ?

currently using edge, but does not have desktop version , looking for a wallet that support both platform and safe.  not recommended hardware wallet , as i use btc daily basic .

Are you looking for a wallet that supports all those altcoins too, or just bitcoin?

Maybe Exodus or Jaxx.io? https://www.exodus.io/ / https://jaxx.io/ Although the latter had issues in the past, so be wary when using these two wallets..

For bitcoin wallets i'd use Electrum / Bitcoin Core.
1220  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dumb Question - Wallet on: October 21, 2018, 01:22:00 PM
Any Paid Mobile/Desktop Wallet ? (Secruity-Wise)

What exactly do you mean by paid? As in you need to pay a subscription fee to use them? That would be weird. No, i don't think these kind of wallets exists.

Or i simply haven't come across them yet. I certainly wouldn't use them when i can also use Electrum/Core.

The closest thing i can think of are Hardware wallets? https://bitcoin.org/en/wallets/hardware/
