1081  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: There has been an increased number of "fake" electrums out there, be careful. on: December 28, 2018, 12:34:08 PM
The electrum-projects one was actually verified by github and had the green verified logo next to it. That is another factor that led to me downloading it.
What is this "verified logo"? Huh

I don't recall ever seeing any Github repo that has a "verified by github" logo attached to it? Even the official Electrum repo here doesn't seem to have any verified logo? Huh
Hmm.

Maybe he is referring to the {VERIFIED} tag that is next to some accounts of prominent companies such as AirBNB et al..? -- https://github.com/airbnb

You're right though, even https://github.com/spesmilo doesn't have that..  Undecided I really doubt that a random repo would get that.
1082  Economy / Services / Re: Drive traffic to your website [20k to 60k+] on: December 27, 2018, 10:52:01 PM
Hi, I am a traffic advertiser<...>

I use a program that can generate traffic that I acquired.

These two are quite contradictory.

Are you using "Ads", (Popads etc) to send traffic to someone's said, or are you generate (fake) traffic from a "program" to his site? There's a world of difference here, which should be clarified before anyone should even think of buying this.

You also didn't specify whether the traffic is legit at all, adsense safe etc, or what the demographics/background of your traffic is. (PTC? Organic? What niche?)
1083  Economy / Digital goods / Re: I'm buying Steam giftcard on: December 27, 2018, 04:28:35 PM
I'm buying Steam giftcard.
I pay for bitcoin, we can arrange what you want, send me messages on twitter https://twitter.com/BtcMaster11
or send messages on telegram @Aleksa1312
Please do not answer those who do not own giftcards I will not respond to such messages, it is not my problem to pay first if I notice that the buyer is posting.
I accept all the numbers from $ 5 to $ 50 Steam giftcards. I am ready to give only 1.4 BTC.
If someone is wondering why I'm doing this, because I think bitcoin will not grow anymore and maybe this is a smart investment.

Why don't you use a site such as https://www.bitrefill.com/buy/steam-usd-voucher

Might be easier, and prevents you from getting scammed/ wasting alot of time in P2P deals.

Or, you could deposit your money into Bitskins.com, buy skins, and sell those on the market for steam balance, you might get some profit even.

it is not my problem to pay first if I notice that the buyer is posting.
I doubt you'll find many people willing to go first.
1084  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: I think I lost all my BTC with electrum on: December 27, 2018, 02:06:18 PM
Im on mac. dont know how to completely uninstall. im having my trusted friend install it and use my seed. hoping to get them back. how can i get a new one ? new to this sorry. Also do I need to wipe my mac completely ?

I'm not so sure what exactly the security complications are either. I'm getting a bit confused, so let's make some things clear.

1. You received a popup that looked like this;

ref: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5089963.0
2. You clicked the link in the popup and downloaded the wallet from the github.

3. You ran the wallet/imported your seed in the wallet you downloaded, correct?

If the above is more or less what happend, you should indeed let your friend recover your seed, ASAP, as your funds are probably compromised.

Quote
how can i get a new one ?

He should make a NEW electrum wallet on his device, and send a transaction totalling all the funds from the (potentially) compromised seed to the new wallet he just created.

Quote
Also do I need to wipe my mac completely ?
As i said. i'm not entirely sure what has been infected/affected either. Might want to keep an eye on this thread to see what might be smart; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5089963.0

1085  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: I think I lost all my BTC with electrum on: December 27, 2018, 01:53:13 PM
Did you actually install the hacked version of electrum - the one you linked to in your OP?

everytime I install the electrum from the website the wizard wont install. itll just take me to the wallet asking for a password

Hmmm, that's weird. Could it be because you still have the other version(s) installed? Try deleting/uninstalling it completely?

Or temporarily use another device?

Another user from the thread i linked above said the following:
When you download the fake client they must get your seed/password somehow. I wiped electrum files then restore the wallet from seed and put 2$ in there an let it sit. They just emptied the wallet again about 30 mintues ago.

It might be smart to hasten a bit.
1086  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: I think I lost all my BTC with electrum on: December 27, 2018, 01:28:30 PM
I'm afraid you can't. - If the attacker hasn't moved your funds yet, you might have a chance still.

It seems more than likely you (unfortunately) got phished due to a malicious server.

Read: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090097.0
And: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5089963.0

The link you posted: github.com/electrum-project/electrum/releases/tag/3.4.1 is probably that of a "hacked" version of a electrum.
                            ^ do not use this.

So I tried to reinstall. but all my funds are stuck in the new update.

what exactly do you mean by stuck? Has the attacker sent a tx yet?

IF YOU STILL HAVE YOUR PRIVATE KEYS/SEED, DOWNLOAD ELECTRUM FROM HERE, https://electrum.org/ IMPORT YOUR SEED/PRIVATE KEYS AND MOVE YOUR FUNDS ASAP.
1087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [DEC 2018] Fees are low, use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs! on: December 27, 2018, 01:10:57 PM
Hey,

I've got two questions cause I'm really not a technical guy.

1 - Are the inputs sizes based on the number of addresses from which the funds are taken?
2 - If yes, is there a way to stop the sending to a different address at every transaction? For Electrum or even my hardware wallet, every time I want to receive BTC they suggest a new address and I don't know why. On the hardware wallet it's not even possible to get back the old addresses all I can do is get new ones...

1. Not really. You can have 10 inputs from the same adress, and it will increase the size of the transaction with the same amount as if all the tx were taken from 10 seperate adresses (if were assuming same type obv).. (?) https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/1195/how-to-calculate-transaction-size-before-sending-legacy-non-segwit-p2pkh-p2sh

Quote
Assuming all the inputs you are spending are from regular "pay to address" transactions, each input will contribute 180 (plus or minus 1) bytes to the transaction. Each output adds 34 bytes to the transaction. And there's a fixed extra 10 bytes which are always present.

So the less adresses (rather inputs) used = more consolidated = lower fees most of the time.

2. I don't think this matters per se. As long as all the inputs are all consolidated in the new adress, there is no issue. If they're not and instead all spread out over "new"/different adresses, then this is indeed a problem.

Note that you can always reuse an adress if you'd like to do so. I'm not sure how it works with hardware wallets, but it's not like they'll all of a sudden "throw away" the private key for said adress.

2. Or are you talking about sending the change to a new adress each time? Afaik, you can change that, but that also won't matter much, since the inputs will stay the same.
1088  Economy / Services / Re: Need RDPs with ISP IPs on: December 26, 2018, 07:24:54 PM

Is this possible to change ip address of rdp. I dont want to make multiple rdp, as I have only one window license, but I want to use rdp with multiple ip or change my rdp ip address after each time I login. Is this possible.
Probably not. Most RDP's have a static IP, especially if they're residential.

Some might change their IP on reboot but i doubt it.

Quote
I dont want to make multiple rdp, as I have only one window license,
I'm pretty sure more RDP that are coming from established companies such as above have some sort of windows already installed.  (Eg; Windows Server 2016 Standard or w.e.)
1089  Other / Meta / Re: Can we regulate the trust system ? on: December 26, 2018, 07:03:43 PM
Like I said before when the crime is not obvious and you can not prove it then leave a warning. Can hilariousandco prove it that I was going to walk away with the 20BTC? S/he can't because the event never happened. A user may make a mistake, give them a chance. Warn for the first time. S/he may not realize the dept of the wrongdoing/wrong-practice. Warn them! If needed then warn them for the 2nd and third too. Leave a neutral feedback as the prove of the warning. Do it for the 2nd and third time too. If they don't listen THAN go for action. If a single tag from DT can destroy someones accounts then DTs should be very careful before tagging an account. A harsh tag is injustice for the member.
Roll Eyes Your reasoning is that of 12 year old... This forum isn't a kindergarten.. You're acting as if DT is getting paid for doing this. They're not. You really think they have the patience to give some 2/3/4 chances? I know i wouldn't..

I personally don't actually see any reason for them to justify their ratings to anyone up to a certain degree. If they're inherently wrong, someone else on DT will probably correct them on it.

So given what I just pointed out, how is it you're now being "bullied"?
- Read some of the reply from AdolfinWolf on the topic. It was like I wanted to trade paypal £ because I know paypal is reversible and I am determined that I will do that once I will get the BTC. It's like he is reading my mind and throwing out even made up shit like paypal still do charge back even after 180 days.

- Another trusted member wanted to sell btc and wanted to have paypal. When I left PM he said nothing personal and he will do deal with only trusted members. Later I found he dealt with few 'member' accounts.

- I used escrow service from one of the very highly trusted member (several times). He wanted to sell BTC for paypal. When I contacted with him he said he will wait for few more offers.

Non of these would not happen if I did not have the highlighted warning....
"Warning: Trade with extreme caution!"

The warning means I stole or scammed more than a penny! Did I scam a penny from anyone here? I did not and I don't think I will ever.

It's not made up. If you do a transaction through your bank(but mostly CC)/credit card on lets say eBay, and you tell your bank/cc provider that you got hacked etc, with sufficient proof, it can infact issue a chargeback.

Depends on your CC provider/Bank, but it's definitely possible.

Quote
Non of these would not happen if I did not have the highlighted warning....

I again wouldn't be so quick to blame the red tag for all of your issues. If anyone else was making such a stigma about "leaving the forum", only to then come back to make a deal that doesn't really make sense, well, he probably would've received the same replies, even w/out a red trust.

Do you think it's any less wrong if posted outside this forum?
I did not promote any ponzi in and outside the forum while I am a member of the forum. I left promoting those business long before joining this forum because I was sick and tired of their terms.
And where does Followbitcoin.today fit in then? What's that? You don't classify that as a ponzi? -- Sidenote: You didn't answer his question...  Undecided

Anyway, your entire character at this point is becoming an esoteric issue which i can no longer keep up with. Ah well.
1090  Economy / Services / Re: Need RDPs with ISP IPs on: December 26, 2018, 03:47:15 PM
Maybe you're looking for something like this;

https://www.routerhosting.com/residential-ip-vps-and-dedicated-rdp/
https://rdpbay.com/

The routerhosting one looks the most viable. They have been around for quite some time, (10+ years?), so i'm pretty sure they're the real deal.
Note that i haven't bought from either of them, so it might be smart to also look into them a bit more yourself.
1091  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: I need leopay.eu Account on: December 26, 2018, 02:39:44 PM
I need Leopay account. who can provide me contact with me.

Skype: roxanclub  telegram @roxanclub

I'm kinda curious, do you need to do KYC to open an account at Leopay?

AFAIK:They give each account opened a personal IBAN right?

Can't imagine many people would feel comfortable selling an account if their personal data was attached to it.... Or do you only need a VCC/similar?
1092  Other / Meta / Re: My NY resolution - help members who aren't Dick Heads. on: December 26, 2018, 02:17:43 PM
Looking at the merit given in that thread, you're actually just promoting megathreads...?

The, i do this X, do you also do it X or not-esque questions.

To which each user responds with some rehashed answer of the previous poster that contains something along the lines of, No, I do it Y, or as i said, a rehashed answer....

There are various ways to check the price of bitcoin some wallet even has section where you can see the current prices but the most trusted way of finding out the price of bitcoin is searching coinmarketcap.Com this shows you the price value, volume and supply of bitcoin and top 99 altcoin in the cryptocurrency world

<....>
then you can also check https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/#markets  for an overview of differently based exchanges.

I think that everyone looks at the average price at https://coinmarketcap.com/

But whatever, you do you.
1093  Other / Meta / Re: About the ban. Help me please! on: December 22, 2018, 06:33:27 PM
<...>

Damn, him changing certain grammar and spinning certain keywords makes it obvious that he knew what he was doing, and that he knew that what he was doing was wrong.
However, I was banned again, without term specifying, as I understand, only with the possibility of appeal. The reason sounded: "For plagiarism, or spam from the account." There was definitely no plagiarism, all this is personal thoughts about certain events. If this was regarded as spam, then I would like to find a solution.
There was, and you knew it.
1094  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Account Recovery on: December 22, 2018, 05:32:53 PM
I don't know why you would suggest they wait for something that has never been announced (to my knowledge) and is likely to be years away even if it were. This is a pretty goofy piece of advice and suggestion.

To quote theymos..

will it unlock in 7 days?
<...>
This is a component of a comprehensive new set of recovery procedures which will be fully rolled out in the very near future (before the end of the year). This will allow recoveries to move forward at a reasonable pace again. But there is no immediate impact of this component to most people; I just needed to document it because the seclog entries are starting to appear.
<...>

I'm not entirely sure what thread/post it was that he eleborated this further, but basically he announced that there'll be a "tool" to automatically recover accounts if you can prove ownership through a signed message..??

EDIT: take a look at this thread, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5021208.msg45305821#msg45305821

Hopefully theymos and admins can implement the recovery tool so that you can start recovering your account.

Hopefully not. The less security mechanisms that could be potentially exploited, the better. There is already a protocol in place to recover your account and if you are able to provide a simple signed address then you're almost guaranteed to get your account back with a little patience. If the account has been hacked, DT is quick to act and tag/untag the account as an attempt to "lock it down" without unnecessary force so-to-speak.

Although i would tend to agree with this, how the account recoveries are going as of currently seems just plain insufficient.

When there are people who already proved ownership waiting months to get their hacked accounts back, something is going wrong..
1095  Other / Meta / Re: About the ban. Help me please! on: December 22, 2018, 04:33:53 PM
It is so hard OP if you get banned you can no longer ask for a lift for the ban. I have seen and read ban appeals here but all ended up nothing even if you have a good excuses. Plagiarism is most likely the reason for the ban. Well, you can join in different forum. Just search in google for the cryptocurrency forum then join. Bitcointalk.org is not the only one forum for cryptocurrency.
Except that it kind of is the only *populated* forum related to cryptocurrency. (Unless you count Bitcoin.SE, which i would say isn't a forum.)

I'm pretty sure OP got banned for these sorts of posts:

While many traders are eagerly awaiting a potential Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF), some of the most ardent supporters of cryptocurrency are tepid at best for the prospect of such a tool. What's your opinion? Do you want Bitcoin ETF?

Bitcoin (BTC) received another negative assessment from central banks, this time Benoit Kerere from the executive board of the European Central Bank (ECB), calling the original cryptocurrency “an evil offspring of the financial crisis,” reports the Financial Times. That can be found on the network recently. Bitcoin fell and fiat experts immediately started a new wave of hate, do you think bitcoin will recover soon?

On Wednesday (November 14, 2018), Brian Kelly, founder and CEO of digital asset investment firm BKCM LLC, explained yesterday's "crypto market crisis" that led to double-digit percentage losses for most basic crypto-conversions, including Bitcoin, which dropped to $ 5,569, its the lowest price in a year.
But Brian Kelly suggests not to worry, saying that in his fund they used the moment to purchase. Do you agree with him?

These sort of press releases which i think you copied from an article? (correct?) are kind of frowned upon and probably constitute to copy-pasting..?
1096  Economy / Services / Re: Advertising for any kind of domain. on: December 22, 2018, 03:42:47 PM
I reckon you already spammed ref links to the users in your group?

Quote
If you take 1.000.000 people from diferent countries and sell them a simple black T-shirt for example, you would get a minimum response of 15% of the people that would buy it.

I'm highly skeptical of this. I've seen steam group advertising, and the click rate with announcements is much lower, let alone that someone will buy something once he clicked.

Do you have any previous campaigns to show for, with some sort of statistics if possible?
1097  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Account Recovery on: December 22, 2018, 03:09:40 PM
There was the same problem, I could not find a solution.
Read the above post and you'll find your answer as to what to do. Or maybe, for once, you could use the search function.
1098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core installed, block chain downloaded, NO address in wallet on: December 22, 2018, 11:37:00 AM
Edit: ahh I have 0.16.0.0 (did it go in the later one - I can't actually broadcast the blockchain anyway so don't see a need to upgrade)?
I mean, there was quite some drama about running anything younger than v16.3, due to the "bug" that was found in v14-v16?

Quote
If you only occasionally run Bitcoin Core, then it's not necessary to run out and upgrade it right this second. However, you should upgrade it before you next run it.

- You should not run any version of Bitcoin Core other than 0.16.3*. Older versions should not exist on the network. If you know anyone who is running an older version, tell them to upgrade it ASAP.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5034070.0

Might still be smart to upgrade to v17.0.... Although, if you're not running a full node, this bug might be not quite as harmful/have the potential to be harmful at all..?
1099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Blockchain analysis tools? on: December 21, 2018, 06:53:35 PM

https://www.walletexplorer.com/ has a subset of these features... It's not as extensive as blockseer, but for me, it usually does the trick.
I've found matbea (https://matbea.net/) quite useful in the past as well, but it seems that the site is slighly broken.

It used to track adresses like Walletexplorer, but also included exchanges such as coinbase, bitflyer.jp,  et al.

(I'm not entirely sure if it still does so correctly.)

EDIT, just tried it: Seems like it still indexes coinbase adresses. Not sure how accurate it all is though.
1100  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain.com Verify Identity Problem on: December 21, 2018, 06:09:35 PM
I'm not entirely familiar with Blockchain.com's verification process, but you're verifying your account so you can buy/sell bitcoins on their platform, right?

Are you certain that your country is supported by Blockchain.com?
You can check here -- https://support.blockchain.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000804146-What-countries-are-supported-for-buying-selling-

If not, that might be the issue.
