501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and gambling which one has done you more harm on: September 30, 2023, 09:56:09 PM
These things, gambling and bitcoin cannot harm you in any way. What you might mean is what you get when you engage in both of these things.

The truth is no one is harmed when they gamble, unless you lose yourself and lose all your possessions, money, house, car, etc. Same thing with bitcoin, you won't be harmed unless you bought it with all your money during all-time high and can't feed yourself, and your family now. The fact is we only hurt ourselves, when we expect too much from something and it does not ended the way we want it to be it'll hurt us. Say you gamble or invested in bitcoin and turned out that you lost, that feeling hurt.

But I must say, I lost more on gambling than Bitcoin or any cryptocurrencies  Roll Eyes
What do you call those bold letters mate? That was the cause of getting into a gambling addiction and it is harming you not only financially but also mentally as it creates an impact on your mindset and thinking. This is the outcome of thinking that we can earn more from gambling so we spend more money on gambling but making us spend less in investing in Bitcoin.

It is very unfortunate and most of us commit mistakes because we assume that all our decisions would be right. We can gamble, yes but it should be on limitations. The same thing when it comes to trading and investment because at the moment we go beyond that, we are also creating problems.
502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should i invest in this project or not on: September 30, 2023, 09:32:31 PM
I can only advice you if I have interest in this project and that since I already know the adverse risks associated with this project then I will want to let you know that you are risking your fund if you believe in whatever advice anyone will give you this is because in this kind of situation,  everyone one will want to suggest to you that their own way is the best and at that will want you to buy into their idea.

But still on still it is best you carry out your own independent research about the project to build a data that can propel your convictions and at some point grant you the access you need to make a decision.
A poor decision makes us lose and I'm afraid this will happen to OP. In fact, I'd see a reason or any valuable things in this project that encourage us to invest because a new project isn't a reliable investment nor we could think that it was the right decision especially if there is no use case. I doubt if OP has seen it and done research.
Well, we can say that is his money but of course, we don't let someone fall into the wrong investment when we have an option and a chance that it never be going to happen.
503  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Accumulating Bitcoin with ease on: September 30, 2023, 01:25:09 PM
Accumulate and Hold Bitcoin only, and nothing else if we want to have a profit assurance in the future. Why? Because Bitcoin doesn't just show profit potential but also, a project that has strong fundamentals and uses case which we could really think that it will sustain and stay for many years. Bitcoin represents crypto and as long as cryptocurrency still exists, we are also too hopeful that Bitcoin will stay and remain valuable.

Bitcoin is not a failure investment but it was indeed, a great investment that could possibly change one's life.
504  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 30, 2023, 12:49:57 PM
@inthelongrun, Lakers at 13? I think I've found a gem in the NBA futures.

Well, it's understandable why the Bucks are now listed as heavy favorites to win a championship because of Lillard. Maybe the superstar will be able to help improve the system, but I have a feeling that their defense is going to suffer. Holiday is a good defender, just can't guard a player like Jimmy Butler, but with the same size as him, like Curry, probably he is very effective.

This is a gamble made by the Bucks, but we cannot blame them as they are very desperate to keep Giannis, and the only way to do that is to make their team look good.
505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: September 30, 2023, 12:12:35 PM
Odd from stake is also out.
Jordan ~ 1.41
Philippines ~ 2.70
Let's show the boys some love and we know that this could be the most difficult match that they're going to be with. May the force be with the Gilas Pilipinas.

Though i want the Philippines to advance to the 1/4 directly by beating Jordan but it seems to be hard task for them considering in the change of roster and the lack of quality substitution, i mean Chris Ross and Marcio Lassiter are not the player we used to see five years ago, father time has taken a toll on them so i'm not gonna risk my money by backing Gilas this time instead i'll be going for Jordan.

Gilas will still qualify for the quarters if ever they will be defeated by Jordan.

Congrats @bisdak40, it seems like you are the only one who predicted it right among the bettors here. The game was pretty much a statement that our current Gilas team is not strong enough to beat the strong teams. Let's admit this early; we don't have a chance to win gold in this tournament. I guess if Clarkson was the naturalized player, there's a chance, but as we can see, our team really struggled.

However, we are not done yet. As you mentioned, our team will still qualify for the quarter-finals, so let's continue the support. But when it comes to betting on the team, we have to think twice.
506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's Missing from the Best and Most Promising Cryptocurrency, Cogitex? on: September 29, 2023, 09:47:14 PM
Cogitex has already established itself as a great and promising cryptocurrency, but we are constantly striving for improvement. Let's discuss what, in your opinion, might be missing from our coin to make it even better.

The problem is that they proclaim themselves as a great and promising project but it has never been seen by the community. That means that this project is not important and has no role in the crypto space where investors are just ignoring it. Not a surprise either and if you are holding this project, never expect profit. The best thing you do is to sell them and move to other projects that are really well-established. Because it was too hard to think for a project to grow when not seeing that they were working on it to improve. Some projects are just good at the start but they are not good in the long run.
507  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should newbies invest with small capital in BTC on: September 29, 2023, 09:32:15 PM
That could be an option and it was advisable for newbies due to lack of knowledge and market experience. It is just like testing ourselves, a trial and error to know if we can really afford to take risks and manage our emotions. Many people had started big as they thought that they could manage it well but sadly, a crisis came, and lost their emotions and sold their Bitcoin at a cheaper price. This is the thing that we have to anticipate as newbies a reason why it was better to start with a small amount and see if we are capable enough to handle stress. Besides, we can increase our capital if we feel that we can do it well.
508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risk management and responsible gaming on: September 29, 2023, 01:24:55 PM
Governments and several organisations work to encourage responsible gaming. This involves establishing betting restrictions, offering support to those who think they have a gambling problem, and participating in self-exclusion programmes.

Not all governments have that kind of program. The discussion goes like this: gambling is often considered a big problem when, in fact, it's not. In reality, the gambling industry, which makes billions of dollars yearly, contributes to the government in terms of taxes. So, the government cannot be too serious about educating people, especially on the negative side, as it could discourage them from gambling.

There's no logic in that; why would they discourage people when they are benefiting from the tax remittance of casinos?

Simply putting "be responsible when gambling" is enough to remind gamblers to gamble responsibly.
509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 28, 2023, 02:12:48 PM
They also signed Usman Garuba as well, not sure if he is the replacement for Dwight Howard or not.

Still young compared to Howard, the Warriors can still develop this player. He may not be very offensive, but in terms of defense, I think he can help. He averaged 4.1 rebounds per game last season with 12 minutes of playing time, which I believe is okay for a backup center. For me, I would just trust the Warriors in their decision. I wouldn't speculate too much. What's important is that they made a good move by trading Poole, which was basically one of the major reasons why they failed in the last playoffs.
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum's GAS increase. on: September 27, 2023, 09:43:02 PM
Fees may vary depending on the network's situation and it certainly goes high when there is a huge number of transactions. But never think it stays high for long as it drops again. Like in Bitcoin's transaction fees, there is a time that is also high and that is not a worrying part. I don't think it was hard to become patient and wait for the gas fee to drop but if you are badly needed for it, then make no choice but to pay the gas fee.

Well, the Ethereum gas fee has already been high for several years already. Unlike before, we can just pay $1 but these days, $10 is quite normal.
511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 27, 2023, 11:51:31 AM
And if I'm not mistaken, it was supposedly the East that should dominate last season, with Giannis had a good run with the Bucks in the regular games. And also Boston Celtics, who has the formidable duo of Tatum and Brown and then former Celtic defensive specialist in Marcus Smart. And then the Sixers with Joel winning the MVP and James Harden at the helm.

But the Nuggets has total different mentally in the West. They take the lead, the Suns, Warriors and the Lakers falter with injuries and it seems the focus that time is Lebron breaking Kareem's record. So let's see if the East can bounce back again and win the NBA trophy for this season to even up.
I think this could be a good question! I was also hopeful that the East would win last season, but that didn't happen.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the Celtics play soon (even if it's preseason)
I have no doubt that Tatum, Brown and others will do everything they can to become champions

Yeah Boston will be interesting to watch.
Now it's not only Tatum and Brown anymore. Adding Porzingis in this mix basically gave them a big 3. Of course we have to wait and see how this plays out but I have a good feeling about it.
When he is healthy he he can be a force. Last season in Washington he had great numbers with 23 points and over 8 rebounds per game. Actually ppg wise it was the best season of his career last year. Adding this to the mix might be bad news for the league and especially the east.

Roster wise they have the best team in the east. The bucks are getting old, Miami is not that deep ( but they have other  advantages ), Philly has a lot of trouble and who else is there at the moment?

At the moment all the other star players are in the west so the door is wide open for the Celtics to make this their season, at least in the east.

I'm not sure, man. I don't want to get caught up in the hype, especially since I've seen scenarios in the past where Porzingis joined a team, and it didn't meet our expectations. While his personal stats are quite impressive, his overall impact on the team hasn't always matched. So, I'm not entirely convinced that he's a good addition to the Boston Celtics. Last season, he played 65 games for the Wizards, and hopefully, he'll stay as healthy with the Celtics as he was last season.
512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 27, 2023, 10:55:23 AM
Though his opponent is no longer in his prime, Casimero still needs a win with a big hype under his name. Winning it with an early KO
might bring the attention to the crowd.

Especially that he's fighting against a Japanese fighter where pride is really important, winning it with a KO or taking his opponent down with something
that vlogger can write a good story behind might really spark the interest of promoters to set him up against Inoue.

An important win to make or create a noise for your name and push the intensity to bring himself closer to Inoue's next challenger.

Im hoping to witness that. The last boxer he beat was Ryo Akaho. Although it was initially controversial and ruled as a no contest, since Ryo Akaho admitted he lost the fight, the win was awarded to Casimero via a 2nd-round knockout as we can see it in Ryo Akaho's record.

If Oguni doesn't put up a strong performance, it's highly likely we'll witness a knockout here. I don't even understand why Oguni was chosen as Casimero's opponent when there are other boxers with a much better record. Some might see it as a tune-up fight; who knows, Casimero could potentially face Nery or Inoue next.
513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does it take to play casino? on: September 25, 2023, 02:19:18 PM
snip~

         -   What do you mean by the title you created, mate? Is it about whether or not someone gets lucky when gambling? Others, in my opinion, rely solely on luck when gambling, correct? Do you believe that every gambler has the same motivation for gambling? Isn't that correct? What are the most common motives for gambling among most gamblers? Isn't that what they believe will bring them luck on the day they gamble?

Isn't it always like that, who always rely on chance for no other reason? Except for those whose sole motivation is to have fun. The other is a source of revenue, which is nearly impossible to sustain in practice.

People make fun first in gambling but the moment that they go back home with money, they will then think that they can make more money in gambling and become rich. That was the start of making someone addicted. Indeed, gambling is just a play of mind, owners can easily manipulate you once you show interest and wants. The more we spend money and lose in gambling, the more they love us.
This is the real thing that happens in gambling - We become lucky today and win but are not sure about tomorrow because luck doesn't come always to us.
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: September 25, 2023, 01:57:40 PM
Let’s also congratulate our younger Gilas for qualifying for the World Cup U17 next year, we have a better future if we continue the system that we have on our younger teams. I hope our national commission will address this concern and follow the strategy of other countries on molding younger players for their future representative, I think its about time now to have our own solid Gilas team with a solid system.

You mean the U16 Gilas team that got to the semis mate? Yeah, congratulations to them because beating Japan in the quarterfinals was not an easy task but they did it with all their heart and advanced to the semis against Australia but unfortunately, the latter was just too strong in this category that the blew away our young Gilas 92-36 but nevertheless it was a valiant effort and if continued, those efforts would go far if not mix with basketball politics.

I didn't expect them to lose by such a huge margin. I thought they'd be more competitive, but as we can see, there's a huge difference in basketball development between Asia and Europe or the US. The competition in these two regions is much closer, but we are lagging far behind.
The height is still might and we should start investing of that and build a good players with a good height.
Well, we still have the chance to get the podium finish and I’m proud to see those players doing their best to play for the country and get a win. Hopefully this team will improve in the world cup next year, there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done and of course Gilas can make it.

Maybe you are partly right, but we cannot just focus on height alone. My statement is backed by what happened during the FIBA World Cup. We all know that Germany won the gold, and Dennis Schröder was the MVP. Guess what his height is? He is only 6'1", so that tells us it's not all about height. Also, let's use the Warriors as an example. Why would they choose to play small ball if height is everything?
515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: September 25, 2023, 01:32:25 PM
In my opinion making cash from gambling is not a good option and the statistical probability that you will win every game at every casino is very low. I think winning or losing every game is completely in your head, so your individual tricks are not there. However, we all have some kind of luck so we should strive for what is possible for us.
I would agree that gambling is not a good option to make money but wondering why many people love to gamble. It is probably because they saw gambling is a tool to make money instantly if they got lucky and this kind of mindset can't easily be changed because many people prove it. In fact, Even though we know that many gamblers have suffered losses, the numbers are increasing instead of expecting to decline.
Well, talking about luck in gambling, absolutely but it was not just luck, it also knowledge especially if you are in card games and sports betting.
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Inu (SHIB): The Rising Star Redefining the Crypto Landscape on: September 25, 2023, 06:51:19 AM
Shiba is a promising project but that was before. There is a saying that once a meme coin always a meme coin. As we think about how these mems coins showed to us, we can say that they are just good during their hypes but there is no sustainable growth to see after and this is what it happened to Shiba Inu and Pepe coin.

Now, if you think that was promising, that was your opinion but if you have to analyze its current market performance, you'll find out what a huge decline.
517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Practices for Staying Safe When Gambling on: September 25, 2023, 06:07:50 AM
I would say that keeping these things always in mind helps us to avoid big losses and hacking incidents. Now, it is up to us how we manage ourselves to keep those practices and live that way because it makes no sense if we don't even though we know it already. The sad truth is that most of us just realize that we are wrong after making mistakes, we never thought it first before making a decision. A reason why many gamblers suffered first which in fact, we can anticipate that situation since some gamblers already warned us.
518  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does monitor size affect trading? on: September 24, 2023, 09:40:15 PM
Those with better skills I don't think they need it.  Whose skill is good doesn't make much impact on big screen or small screen.  But it will be very convenient for the newbies. It will be easy to see the big chart hole on the big monitor.  The facility will be open to all, but ties are best used according to skill and need.  But I will say what's the use of keeping the monitor big if you don't have the skills.  Efficiency should be increased first. Buying a bigger monitor for convenience is not a bad thing if you can afford it.
Might people think that if they use big screen, they will become profitable but that is wrong? Convenience is the only advantage that big screen gives to traders as you can do more searches easier but the results are quite the same as it depends on the capabilities of the trader. In fact, one of my friends uses a mobile phone and is still able to earn more and succeed than others who use laptops. That is why I would say that it doesn't really matter, the most important is to have a better understanding of trading and make use of effective strategies.
519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you see any value in move to earn crypto projects? on: September 24, 2023, 01:24:46 PM
There are some move to earn projects like stepn, stepapp etc . Do you see any value in them or it is just a death spiral?
That is new for me, I thought that was Play to Earn..lol
Anyway, it doesn't look so good to me. In fact, P2E gained some interest in its early days but unfortunately, the tide is over and most of these projects turn into a scam and make people become hopeless with the money spent on them. I'm not sure but this move to earn is somewhat another scam trick, I can't be fooled by such a trick as I was old enough for this.

If we aim to earn a profit, none of these projects will provide to us.
520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 24, 2023, 12:19:33 PM
Nobody could force Portland to make that trade if they do not want to, Dame was the one who accepted such a huge salary that he deserved but also a very long one. He is signed until 2026 or so I think, which means that when he was signing that deal, he knew that he would not be able to leave, and he had to accept it as a fact that Portland may not trade him at all. I feel like now him wanting out is not fair, they have paid him so much because they agreed on the money but also the term of the deal as well, maybe they would have offered less if he wanted a 1-2 year contract, who knows? Maybe they found it worthy because he agreed a long term deal and they made their decisions based on that? If he wants to leave, that's his right to want to leave, but if they want to keep him, then they have every right to not trade him.

Exactly. However, are they willing to accept what Lillard would offer knowing he is not 100% happy playing with the team? This is a team game, and Lillard is their superstar. What if his statistics drop? That would affect the future of the team, as they might not make it to the playoffs. So, I guess, although the Blazers might delay the inevitable, eventually they will trade Lillard to a team he desires. Miami will be eagerly waiting, as their current roster is still capable of reaching the Finals again.
