501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 14, 2023, 01:31:20 PM
I turn on the Lakers game to see that LeBron is out. Information that could have been useful to me prior to placing my bets for the day. I did get the Lakers in a parlay with the 76ers and the Pelicans all winning. Hopefully Anthony Davis can come through and carry them to a win. The way the Spurs have been playing it shouldn’t be too hard.

It was reported that Lebron will be out.

https://www.silverscreenandroll.com/2023/12/12/23999397/anthony-davis-lakers-injury-report-groin-mavs-spurs-lebron-james-jarred-vanderbilt

Aren't you wondering why the Lakers was only -3.5 against the struggling Spurs. If you were able to bet on the moneyline, you should have won. This could actually be an easy cover by the Lakers if they didn't allow the Spurs to have a strong run in the 4th, with that it resulted to the Lakers winning by 3 points only which means spurs handicap win.
502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 14, 2023, 01:04:56 PM
I also think that Spurs do this on purpose since they want to get another first round pick that's why they are not really bothered to lose this season again since as stated they are in rebuilding mode. And they are just leaving this season to develop Wemby that's the reason of all of there negative performance show in this conference. If this is the real case here then maybe there's something to investigate about and if there's a proven case of something like this happening maybe there's some changes needed to do so that they can make the league more balance and no teams would do this actions and make the league more balance then competition became more tighter since this is what fans actually like to see on each game they watch.

Coach Pop is very patient on building his rosters until they can go all out just like what they did during the years when they have Duncan and Robinson. I agree to the opinion that might be intentionally playing bad this season since their current roster is full of young athletes with potential that can’t guaranteed a championship even if they manage to enter the playoffs.

Having a 1st draft pick with height or trading their 1st draft pick to a potential player that can partner to Wemby will be their target for the next year.

You have no idea what you are saying, "playing intentionally bad" is not gonna help them otherwise, before they could get their new first pick, their business will be going bankrupt.

Do you have an idea how it will affect on revenue, when the Spurs aren't playing well that means people won't be watching their games. And it's self explanatory, so I don't want to explain further because if you have an idea about running a profitable business, you'll understand my statement.
503  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for December on: December 13, 2023, 09:54:10 PM
We'd just thought that everything went well after surpassing $40k and been positive that it continue to rise but somehow, a drop is really inevitable and we have it now. As usual, the price of Bitcoin still moving like a roller coaster, up and down, and it is consistently the trend that we gonna see. However, this won't be enough to worry about as we all believe that this Christmas season helps the market to stay high, not the drop like what we have experienced in the past few months. And aside from that --halving is on the way which is also a big factor affecting the market trend (upward).
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is effecting Market? on: December 13, 2023, 02:10:46 PM
Of course, this is the norm whenever the price of BTC is rising most of those altcoins are also multiplying their price depending on which altcoins we are talking about. This is actually a good opportunity for the risk takers especially those who want to invest in some new altcoins that have a high chance of increasing their price due to this event and you will gonna earn more money if you land on the right altcoins to invest and also you will have another source of income in this another great scenario in the crypto market. But this is for the risk-takers only because the chances are few compared to investing in bitcoins.
That is the real thing that happens and that is what we have witnessed because the market is relying on the price of Bitcoin. That is why investors are on the lookout for Bitcoin trends before buying altcoins as their basis for market analysis. When it pumps, the entire market rises but once the price of Bitcoin dumps, altcoins are badly affected more. I could say that Bitcoin has a manipulating power over the entire crypto market which is why, whatever happens to Bitcoin, the rest will follow.
505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bankroll! on: December 13, 2023, 06:26:19 AM
I know there are bettors here who dream of investing in sports betting and hoping to consistently make money from it.

So, I'd like to ask the following questions:

1. How much bankroll can you afford to start with?

2. With your bankroll, how much expected profit do you anticipate in a year?

3. Will you be content with your profit? If not, have you considered increasing your bankroll, even if you cannot afford it?

With all these questions, all I can imagine is you see sports betting as similar to investment which is not.

Yeah, he probably sees it as an investment. Your take is, it's not an investment because you don't believe there sports bettor out there who are consistently making profit with sports betting? Or it's just your way of sending warning to gamblers that we will just likely lose so don't try?

I don't really play to bet on sports like that and myself rarely bet on sports and it will be only for short for specific game(s) and win or lose just celebrate and then move on.

Now I see, you aren't consistently gambling into sports. That's why....
506  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do we need to have a stop loss if we are 100% positive about a trade? on: December 12, 2023, 09:54:39 PM
If spot trading is what we often do in the trading activity that we do, in my opinion there is no need for a stop, maybe only for those who often do futures trade, margin or leverage trading or perpetual among these I think a stop loss is needed here in what I mentioned.
It's a matter of choice, even if you are trading on spot, you might decide to use stop loss, but if you know you can maintain your trade yourself, then you can just decide not to use stop loss. Some traders do trade futures, and they don't even make use of stop-loss since they are active online and they can monitor their trade. But a newbie should always make use of stop loss. Even if they are trading on both spot and future trading, it will help them maintain their loss in case their trade goes against them. They won't really have much experience like people who have been trading for a long time.

That is supposed to do but yes, for newbies this is a huge help for them to lose big.
If we can perform trading correctly, stop loss has no use at all. As I've been in spot trading for several years, not have a single trade I never used this because I finished my trade before leaving. It is just how we manage our trade, maybe some are comfortable doing this but for me, it was not. Though we can't always ensure profit in trading, we can't just let our trade at a loss always as well. If we are sure about our trade, then there is no need to use stop loss strategy.
507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are slots hard to understand on purpose? on: December 12, 2023, 01:13:40 PM
Slots is quite complicated compared to dice but it's more fun. However, both has a house edge so don't expect gambling it long term as we will never win.

With the growing gambling industry, more games are being introduce but slots is an old game and until now it's still existing. That could only mean that people are loving it and it's not hard to learn if you are interested with playing the game, but always be realistic with your chances as slots are here to entertain us, not a charitable institution to produce money for us.

When we say entertain us, that means we pay to be entertained.
508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one you are good at? on: December 12, 2023, 12:32:02 PM
So, the question is... Which are you better at: selecting the right bet or managing your bankroll?

Between the two I can only say base on my experience, though I can say that I had some win streak sometimes but overall I am still not profitable. So with that, it's obvious that the bankroll management is my weakness, probably because I'm not so focus in sports betting, otherwise I would put up a good bankroll, something that I could use for long term betting.
509  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me to calculate my trading profit on: December 11, 2023, 11:48:18 AM
Don't make your calculation like you are assuming that this would really happen. Remember that the market is volatile and so the profit will vary depending on the market situation as well. I suggest you to have a weekly target and try it to work in a month, then make use of it as your base of calculation. Because it was not right to assume that this would be our profit if we already did not know the results of our weekly trader (and profit). Many traders have been disappointed because they overthink that all of their trading results will be like this, yet the results are too far.
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Plan for making a small dream come true on: December 09, 2023, 01:56:39 PM
...
but for me personally $120k is still too low because I have a target of at least the price of BTC in the next bull run is $150k.
That was a pretty unrealistic price for me. Yeah, I couldn't imagine seeing that price reach during ATH, maybe $120k is possible but reaching $150k is too far (maybe 2 decades from now).

Making a plan is very important but should be realistic. Knowing how volatile is the market, it was too uncertain to see what would happen a few days after the day we set our plan. That is why I made it feasible and if ever my target is wrong, at least it was close to achieving and still making some profit.
I hold BTC, ETH, and BNB they seem to be a great choice.
511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: December 09, 2023, 01:23:09 PM
Every type of addiction is really complicated, especially when it comes to children who have no idea how serious it is.

Whenever possible, parents should pay close attention to the slightest sign of inappropriate behavior by their children when playing or using the internet.

If you are the kind of parent who has an addiction to gambling, it should not be shown to our children or in places where there are children around. It's not really a good look, to be honest. As for the young, curiosity is too aggressive for them—the type that won't stop until they know it or get it.

But despite our avoidance, they still can't avoid it because they will still come to the point where they will still know that gambling is not good for children. Maybe the only good thing we can do as elders or parents is to explain it to them properly, and that's right even if they don't see us gambling.
In this case, we better help our kids understand what is gambling and educate them despite their young age at least they are aware of the things that possibly happen to them if they fall into gambling addictions. We don't need to wait for them to get involved because of their curiosity before telling them the truth instead, we approach them straight and tell everything. Whether they hate us or not, and hearing their sides/views might be the reason why we stop gambling forever. Of course, we don't need to show them gambling but at least we tell them that we are a gambler.
512  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 09, 2023, 12:25:41 PM
I have bad experiences with gambling and sometimes I regret doing it but still, I gamble because I love to do that despite how many times I lose. I think that blaming, regrets, etc... is not necessary for me and it is because it was my choice to gamble and besides, I don't borrow money from anyone nor do I struggle financially due to gambling, I could still manage to handle my emotions and not fall into addiction.

Like some people here, gambling is not a bad thing as it helps to relieve my stress. Just like doing it for my pastime.
513  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can anyone be a Bitcoin speculation expert? on: December 09, 2023, 12:00:13 PM
We are all good at speculating the market price and it was easy for someone to do that because there is no right/wrong in the first place.

Anyway, the market seems looking good as we enter the month of December and most of us think we are in the bull season already.
Well, the price of Bitcoins stays above $40k, quite good to see before the end of this year but still, this would give the confidence that there is no dump happening in the coming days. Maybe there is or nothing, the most important is we don't panic and sell our coins, instead remain calm and hold until the next ATH.
514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking forward to invest on: December 09, 2023, 11:27:22 AM
I want to make an investment with just $50 as a beginner i don't know which coin am i to start with but i heard been hearing a lot of people both physically and on social networks saying incredible things about (BTC), that is the best. please i need your assistance ??
Well, spending $50 weekly for Bitcoin is a good idea but if you just allocate that amount without having a plan to add more, I suggest forgetting about the word investment. Because IMO, it was pretty small to call it an investment. If you are thinking about it, then find a way to tap up some more, at least an initial capital of $100 is good enough.

Indeed, Bitcoin is the best option but don't dare to look for shitcoins considering that they are cheaper than Bitcoin because of your low budget. Think about the future of your investment, not just the price but we are looking for a profit which is what BTC has.
515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: December 09, 2023, 10:00:36 AM
Monacco country is popular with their casino but they don't allow its citizen to play. This shows how important gambling in their country because they still allowed to operate it even though they don't want citizens to be involved.

In our country, Our lottery use the proceeds to donate on the health center that provides free health service to our citizens.

Even if gambling commonly view as negative by commoner. Many didn't notice how big is the contribution of gambling to the society.

Gambling has done more harm than good to players, why do you think that the country has really taken it upon themselves to restrict their citizens from playing?

The only way you can benefit from gambling is when you own a casino and the country has understood this and that is why they have casinos all over the country but still doesn't allow their citizens to play because they understand the risks of gambling addiction.
I'm not saying gambling has no advantages, no, gambling has few advantages, there are times gambling has helped us in unexpected situations, helped us sort a few bills and helped us solve a few problems but that doesn't change the fact that the disadvantages are more than the advantages.
Then it means that you are gambling solely wanting to make money, not just enjoying yourself. Therefore, you can't benefit any from gambling aside from experience and losses. If your thought about gambling is true, then we could ask why the government never banned this. In fact, the government had issued a permit to operate which means that they never saw it as harmful, only we (gamblers) mismanage our time, money, and thinking. We just assume that by gambling, we can make our lives better, yet it never happens because, in the first place, it is not considered as a source of income that we could rely on.
516  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it too late to seek a new beginning? on: December 08, 2023, 09:48:54 PM
There is no need for you to regret because no knowledge or experience is a waste, So let the past be in the past and focus on your present and future, the main thing is that you have finally come to learn what you missed initially and it still not too late. Here is a right place for you to learn or get whatsoever information that you want to know regarding Bitcoin, ask questions about anything you want to about Bitcoin by creating threads and you will be loaded with necessary information you need, you can also watch YouTube videos because for some they learn fast by watching tutorial videos.
Indeed, the best thing to do is not to think that we are late as it only blocks our mind from thinking positively and courage to learn While the market is open for this, we still have room to start. It is not just because we are joining today we will think that we can't earn money anymore, it will just matter if we also manage our time. This is why we have to stop comparing ourselves to others, we might be late in time but still, our chance remains. We just urge ourselves to think positively and act accordingly because nothing happen to us if we keep asking why we never know crypto early.
517  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading advice for newbies on: December 08, 2023, 08:52:55 PM
Newbies must take time to learn before trading rather than rushing and then suffering terrible losses afterward. Many starters do like this way and they are now complaining and asking why, yet they never know the answer that was because they are not yet good at trading, and not even familiar with the market but they have been forced to trade and assume that they will earn a profit instantly.

A reason why newbies must take a prior to learning first before trading. There is a time for real trading anyway and that time will come when we are totally ready, not just because we have money.
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is the sleeping giant on: December 08, 2023, 01:17:18 PM
One thing I noticed about ltc is that - it is like an under the radar kind of coin to many investors.  I mean from the several altcoins noise you get from different platforms ltc is the list talked about. Especially now that Defi, Gamefi, Meme are taking the altcoins space by storm.
Between ltc gave an impressive performance in 2021, literally shot the mouth of many people who consider it an old with less attention. I hope this upcoming bull period performance will be top the previous.
It was called a sleeping by some investors because they saw such potential as the crypto development continued but for those who invested this in the past and made less profit, we couldn't expect them to reinvest. Though I don't have that experience, still LTC is not on my list and I was those investors who saw less potential. Maybe I was wrong but yes, we couldn't see what would happen a few years from now but of course, as being on the top 20 altcoins, the chances are there yet, we have to choose the coin/s that we think are worth enough to invest.
519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: December 08, 2023, 12:39:01 PM
Those who make bets are often interested in the speed of money turnover. If you made a bet and the result will be known in a year - not everyone is ready to wait that long. You can bet on sports even during the event, and until the end of the event, the winnings can be used for new bets an unlimited number of times

Sports betting does not have fast result of your bet unlike other casinos games, however, people are still betting on it since it can be seen live and that way there's a guarantee that it's transaparent, a kind of game that they can trust with their huge wager. And of course, you can use the winning to bet until it increases your bankroll, but it's not the case for most gamblers as only few are really profitable in sports betting.
520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 08, 2023, 11:00:37 AM
but on the first game I had over 216.5 since I believe NLEX will shoot better as they badly need a win here. 2 straight losses with the new import, they need to stop that.

This bet is looking good right now as the over/under live line is already 224.5. If they will be able to continue their good shooting, over is gonna hit easily, but there's a chance also that this game to go to OT since it's a very close game so far, so that's another factor to consider in case the scoring will slow down. Anyway, good luck,  as I was saying, it's looking good right now.

It was looking good in the first 3 quarter but in the 4th quarter NLEX struggled to score resulting to the total to go under.

Let's look at the scoring by quarters.

1st - 53
2nd - 61
3rd - 54
4th - 46...

If they only scored at least 50 points, bet could have been won. Gams are really unpredictable, you can't make a conclusion while it's still ongoing.
