Re: Must you lose before you gain in Bitcoin investment?
No.
There might be some investors here who experienced losing first before gaining when investing in Bitcoin, but I will say no as a user who gained first before losing money.

I might consider myself lucky because when I started to learn Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, I had the opportunity to earn some tokens (through bounty campaigns here), and luckily I sold them for Bitcoin. On that alone, I can say that I already gained Bitcoin because I didn't invest any of my money into it, but only my time promoting that project. From there, I continued earning some tokens, converting them into Bitcoin, and gaining through it. Maybe the only time I lost was when I didn't sell all of my Bitcoin holdings during the 2021 bull run.

For sure, most here experienced losses before gains because they invested their own money to buy Bitcoin. That wasn't the case for me since I got my Bitcoins for free so I gained 100%. Cheesy
522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Launchpool, a possible earning opportunity? on: December 29, 2023, 06:05:29 AM
~
I personally believe that if these projects are taken advantage of through Launchpool, it's basically risk-free money. The only thing you're risking is the opportunity cost of the money you're putting into staking.

What are your thoughts? Have you ever tried it before, and if yes, do you believe it's worth a try?
I tried the last one which is the Fusionist (ACE). I only bought 100$ worth of BNB and staked it there for the whole 5 days. For the whole 5 days, I only get I think around 0.24 ACE which is immediately sold for around 4$. It's my first time joining the launchpool, and it's risk-free. If you're a long-time holder of BNB, joining this launchpool would be beneficial for you because it's free money.

The only risk with this one is the fact that the price of BNB might go down anytime. I don't know if you can take out your BNB or stablecoins during the farming time. Launchpool a possible earning opportunity? Yes because it's kind of airdrop in the sense that they are giving you free tokens that already have a value because, in the future, these tokens will be listed on the exchange.

Is it worth it? As I said, if you're not a long-term holder of BNB, and you will just buy BNB for the sake of the launchpool like me, it isn't worth it, but aside from that, if you have many BNB in your portfolio then it's good to park it into these type of projects. Take note that the bull run is coming so we might see many projects that will be launched under Binance Launchpool. Smiley Maybe it's the time to buy?  Grin
523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 29, 2023, 03:30:53 AM
I just read an article saying the Miami Heat were working on trade negotiations to get Kawhi Leonard from the Los Angeles Clippers.  With how well the Clippers are playing as of late I can't imagine they would want to break up the team now, unless something is going on behind the scenes.  Kawhi looks as happy as I've ever seen him lately and the team is winning a lot of games lately...  I pasted a link to the article below.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/nba-trade-rumors-miami-heat-negotiates-for-kawhi-leonard-with-la-clippers-potential-deal-involving-kyle-lowry-and-duncan-robinson/ar-AA1m9KXY

What do you think?  Are the Clippers ready to break up the Paul George and Kawhi Leonard experiment already?
No, I don't see this happening. It's only my opinion though.

The Clippers are playing very well this season, and they already have the momentum that they need since they acquired James Harden. I mean why break the core of the team if they're playing better already. We are seeing a healthy Kawhi Leonard this season, and it's the first he has been after years of that sh*tty load management.

I don't see the Clippers breaking the core knowing that all of them are healthy. It's just my opinion though because we know that anything can happen in the NBA including trading one of their superstars out of nowhere. Cheesy

And the streak continues for the Detroit Pistons as they lost their 28th straight against the Celtics 128-126.

At one point, the Pistons were up by 21 points, and I thought that they would take care of that already until the end of the game, but it seems like they just choked. TBH, I didn't expect the game to end that close, and what I didn't expect is it would go to overtime. The Celtics are 0-3 coming to that overtime, and they just got their first overtime win this season. That Derrick White's three in the final 2 minutes of the game is the dagger because that shot gave them a 4-point lead.

Who will bet for the Pistons here reach 30-game losing streak?  Grin Grin
524  Economy / Speculation / Re: Historical price of Bitcoin on Christmas Day on: December 29, 2023, 03:14:12 AM
~
2021 - $50,000 USD+
2022 - $16,000 USD+
2023 - $43,000 USD+

By 25th December 2024 am predict the price to be $100,000 USD.

Merry Christmas everyone. Cheers!
Notice a pattern? I mean it's pretty obvious already.
Up, Up, Up then Down. That's the pattern that I'm seeing Cheesy.

In 2022 we saw the market go down then in 2023, we saw Bitcoin's price going up. I expect that Bitcoin in the next 2 years will be going up in price as well. Of course, these are just patterns, and there's no certainty that it will happen in the future as well. Nevertheless, I will just continue accumulating Bitcoin, and will sell at my target prices.
525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What we all learnt this 2023 on: December 29, 2023, 02:02:08 AM
👉 Don't take popular opinions as an investment advice.
Opinions from popular influencers you are saying?

Who are they anyway? They might be popular, but are they knowledgeable enough for us investors to follow what they're saying? Investing in their recommendation is almost the same as suicidal for me. I know it's kind of exaggerated, but these popular influencers don't care about your investment. They only care about money and the money that they can get by advertising some random projects out there. I might be watching some YouTube videos that are crypto-related, but only for entertainment purposes. Take the OP's advice you newbies out there. Tongue

👉 Stop relying on Telegram channels or Reddit groups for trade signals or investment advice. I
3 words. F*ck that platform.
Oh, I only talk about Telegram because I'm not using Reddit, but for me, that platform is full of scammers. Yes, it has been one of the most popular social media platforms when it comes to crypto, but the platform is also the home of scammers. I'm not using Telegram for some reasons, and I don't even fall for these scam attempts, but I wonder how many newbies these scammers lured already because of their attractive words. Cheesy

👉 This advice might seem a little controversial, but I think it's helpful. Stop over diversification, what I call over diversification is putting your money in every crypto project that comes your way.
Nope, this isn't controversial, but its the truth.
Diversification is good, but there's always a limit to it especially if you have low capital. If only you have 100$ money, it would be better if you would just invest it into one coin particularly in Bitcoin rather than investing it into 10 altcoins out there. That will not make you safer, and at the same time it will just lowers your profitability. Know when to diversify, and when not to as well.
526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina has officially approved the agreement to legalize the use of Bitcoin on: December 29, 2023, 01:12:42 AM
In a country that has an inflation of nearly 100%, you need to have an alternative currency that can be used in exchange for their particular currency. The government has been the main reason why the inflation in Argentina rose that high, and with the new government, it's good that we are seeing them exploring some new things that might have a good effect in their country, and that includes legalizing Bitcoin.

Though legalizing doesn't mean it is legal tender, it just shows that the government allows their countrymen to use it without any regulations whatsoever. On the other hand, I still wonder how will the legalization of Bitcoin in Argentina affects the country positively. I mean do we see the country decreasing its inflation rate in the next few years with this move? Do we see a better economy ahead with this move by the government? Just curious because I don't hear any positive news regarding El Salvador when they put Bitcoin as a legal tender... or am I the only one that's outdated? Cheesy

With the current transaction fees of Bitcoin, I doubt that many people in Argentina will use Bitcoin in their daily transactions. Store of value maybe, but for transactions? It's a no-no. Time will tell I guess on what will be the effects of this towards the economy of the country.
527  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will SEC delay on Spot ETF approval do to Bitcoin's price? on: December 28, 2023, 04:13:22 PM
Many online news already said that the SEC is expected to decide on whether a Spot Bitcoin ETF will get accepted or will get rejected. Either or, that decision will have a huge impact on the market... or just only a few. Cheesy The impact will either be a positive or a negative one. It will depend.

If it is a positive one then we might see Bitcoin's price go up even more, and with Bitcoin halving in a few months, I guess the sentiments of the market will be bullish thus, people will go and accumulate Bitcoin pushing its price even higher. On the other hand, the SEC rejecting the Spot Bitcoin ETF will affect the price, and it will for sure push the price down. How low it will be? I don't know, but maybe a 5% decline for a day Bitcoin would be too low for me, and I will not be surprised if we see the market going down by double-digit percentage in a single day again, but the effect will be temporary, and at the end of the day, it will go up again.

Let's just wait for the decision of the SEC next month. Smiley I just hope that we are all ready for whatever will happen. We will enter the year with either happiness or sadness. Cheesy
528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Know, But Can i Invest In Bitcoin? on: December 28, 2023, 03:23:36 PM
~
I made up my mind that I would invest $500 but i am confused. I don't know much about Bitcoin so the person gave me the link to this website and suggest me to know about the various opinions of users on various topics. Since I see that Bitcoin is always discussed , I want your suggestions about my Bitcoin investment.
You don't know much about Bitcoin, but you decided to invest in it already?

I suggest you should learn more about Bitcoin, and cryptocurrency in general. Like what many people are saying here, learn first before investing. Learn before you earn. Have some knowledge first that will help, and guide you. Forget about the profits because it's always there. You can invest into Bitcoin anytime as long as you know the basics already. This forum and YouTube will be your guide to gaining knowledge. Go spend your free time watching documentaries, and reading some topics here.

Should I invest money with the suggestion of that guy? He told me that if I invest I will get good profit. He said, he will open my bitcoin wallet and help to buy bitcoins. Should I invest in bitcoin?
That's one thing that you should not do. Letting other people create your wallet.

This is the power of knowledge that we are saying. In the process, you will also learn how to make your wallet and store it properly. Don't depend too much on other people, especially with your money. Investing in Bitcoin can give you good profit, but it's not certain. Like I said, you can invest in Bitcoin as long as you have the knowledge that you need, and that includes making a wallet on your own.
529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microstrategy Acquires 14,620 Bitcoin, Don't get carried away. on: December 28, 2023, 02:46:40 PM
What do you think?
Don't trust them. They will sell their bitcoins in future.

They are a strong investor and strong hodler but they will sell bitcoins in future.

Michael Saylor ⚡ (MicroStrategy) Portfolio Tracker.
https://saylortracker.com/

They get approximately 38% ROI and in value, their estimated profit is $2.2B.
At some point, they will sell for them to secure their profit.
I mean they're investors in the first place so why do people look at them like their bad already because they're selling their Bitcoin holdings?

Tesla also sold their Bitcoin holdings, and it didn't have that much effect at all on the crypto market. What do you expect? They will hold it forever? Only a stupid investor will think that way LOL. Those who are saying that they will hold Bitcoin forever are stupid because they will at some point sell their holdings and so does Microstrategy.

Microstrategy continues to buy because they're capable of it, and they believe that investing in Bitcoin = profit for them. What's the big deal?

Luka proved again he’s Devon Booker’s nightmare. Dropping 50 on Christmas in a win over the Suns is embarrassing. Booker better get this rivalry figured out or it’s going to start eating away at his legacy.
Luka's playing like the Suns is his home. Trash talked to the fans, made some plays, and now he has a record of scoring 50 points in a Christmas game. The last one who did that? Michael Jordan decades ago. He's very comfortable playing in the Suns' arena because of the rivalry between him, and his son, Devin Booker.

As for the Suns, there has been a report from Woj saying that Durant is already frustrated with the team because of how they're performing this season. I mean many are expecting them to be better ever since they got Bradley Beal, and many also expected them to be a top contender, but looking at the standings, they're not even in the play-in spot. They're currently at the 11th spot and have a record of 14-15. Durant is frustrated because of Beal's injury as well. Durant has a few years left, and if he feels that the Suns will not be a title contender this season, I'm afraid that he will request a trade again which might happen just by looking at how they're playing this season.

This might be my last time speaking out of the Pistons anymore because even their fans booed them after breaking the record and getting their 27th consecutive loss. The longest single-season streak in NBA history. In their first losses, I laughed at them, but in their last few losses, I'm a bit disappointed, and at the same time sad because of what's happening with the team.

Cade Cunningham's career is being wasted on this wasted team. He's getting all-star stats, but his team losses still. I hope he requests a trade and go to another team.

532  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How diverse is your crypto portfolio? on: December 26, 2023, 06:08:11 AM
Hi guys!
Just wanted to know how many cryptocurrencies you're invested in? And with what percentage of your portfolio (No need to mention the amounts involved, if you don't want to). Just want to get a general sense of how everyone's diversifying their crypto assets.
For the past 2 years, I've been holding only 4 assets that are in the top 20 in terms of market cap.
Just this week, I decided to trade 2 of my assets and distribute them into different coins. Some are in the top 20-50, and some are in the top 51-100.

As for the percentage, I don't know what is the exact percentage right now, but Bitcoin has the highest percentage. I mean for me, it's a must for me that Bitcoin will have the most percentage in my portfolio so whenever I buy altcoins, I also make sure that I invest some into Bitcoin.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 26, 2023, 04:48:39 AM
I was a bit surprised to see the Knicks beat the Bucks, especially with Giannis and Dame having good games. Was also a little surprised to see LeBron have a bad game on Christmas, but he almost managed a triple double in the loss so it wasn’t horrible.
Home-court advantage + distributed offense is what the Knicks have that's why they won against the Bucks. It's a close one though, but 6 players are in double digits with the Knicks, and 4 got 20+ points.
I already predicted that the Celtics would win against the Lakers. The Lakers have been playing very bad ever since they won the In-season tournament. I don't know their record, but they are playing pretty badly. I don't want to say it, but it seems like they already ran out of gas.

Why is Andrew Wiggins coming off the bench for the Warriors now? He’s arguably their second best player.
Ever since Wiggins didn't play for them, that's when the win streak continues, so I guess as a coach, you will stick to a starting line-up that gives you more chances of winning right?
On the other hand, I guess it doesn't matter for them if they will come off the bench as long as they will be contributing to the team. I mean it's just me but even though Wiggins came off the bench, he's their leading scorer. It's a close game even though Curry only scored 18 points with an awful shooting as well.

What's good right now with the Warriors is that they have good bench players that can step up offensively. They might have a 15-15 record currently, but they still have one of the best bench players this season.
534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How was your crypto journey this year? on: December 26, 2023, 03:51:59 AM
2023 wasn't all bad for the crypto market. The crypto world underwent numerous changes; new technologies emerged, the market experienced declines and sudden eruptions, and governments implemented various rules.
~
Well, compare it to what happened last year, this year was a better one.
Those who risked their money buying different cryptocurrencies last year are the ones who are in profit right now. Those who invested in Bitcoin when it was below $20,000 already doubled their money. New technologies emerged as you said, numerous airdrops that gave free money to those who participated (ARB is the most popular one that I know). Overall, it was a good year at least. It gave us another year to accumulate more assets, but at a higher price already.

Quote
Re: How was your crypto journey this year?
Hmmm. How can I explain it?

I guess I will just say, it's ok. I'm lucky that I didn't get affected by all those hacks that happened throughout the year. I'm lucky that I didn't lose too much money investing in different cryptocurrencies. Not that much happened to me TBH. I'm just accumulating, and accumulating, and accumulating, and until now, I'm still accumulating in preparation for the bull run.
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Projects for investment on: December 25, 2023, 12:38:05 PM
Can such projects be found nowadays?
Yes, but the question is how will you know if the token that you bought will be the same as Solana in terms of price movement?

I will not say a specific project, but many projects have experienced the same as Solana. It also increased, the same as how Solana increased its price though it isn't the same. TBH, it's hard to know this one because you don't know what project will become popular in the future. This is also the reason why I'm spending a bit on some projects below the top 100 just this week because you don't know if that coin will increase by 2x or even 3x or even more in the future. It's more of a gambling for me. If I win, then good, but if I lose then ok.

It's hard to find, but if you will find projects like that, you might end up losing your money. Better to just focus on long-term investing, or invest into safer altcoins other than hunting those projects that will move the same as Solana.
536  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your feelings if Bitcoin price takes your expectations unaware on: December 25, 2023, 12:02:56 PM

for example, you awaits the market to hit $65K and then it hits $165K just at your slightest mistake of given the markets charts monitoring maybe few minutes or an hour break and then it depreciated unimpressively against your will probably even below your hodling value at your notice, how would you feel at it?
None. Cheesy

I don't know if I'm emotionless already when it comes to markets, but seeing Bitcoin going up that high in just a span of a few minutes will not make me feel regretful, disappointed, or whatever. After all, I don't know that it will happen. What's regretful is when you know already that it will come, but you didn't take any action to maximize that thing.

But realistically speaking, this will never happen. I'm not a trader, so I don't know if this type of scenario is happening, but AFAIK, I don't know if this is happening in real time.
537  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is merit necessary for my survival here on: December 25, 2023, 10:22:32 AM
Greetings everyone!

I really want to know if merit is necessary in other to secure my account, my friend who introduced this site to me said, I must have merit

Please how do I get this merit and how is it important.

Your friend didn't tell you directly, but merit is important for you to survive in real life. Tongue
You need merit to increase your rank, and if you increase your rank, you will have a higher chance to earn more. Tongue

Why did your friend didn't tell you that one? Cheesy Seriously, you're a newbie here, so I will just say don't look at merits as it's your lifeline here where if you don't merit, you will not survive. Being a newbie-ranked member here or a Legendary-ranked member doesn't even matter if you're here for knowledge because both can access all of it with no restrictions (I guess).

If you want to secure your account here, you don't need merits, but you need knowledge. Knowledge to secure your account. Good Luck OP, and I just hope you will not do what most newbies out here are doing. Posting nonstop Proof of Authentications on the Bounties channel hoping that they will earn a few bucks.
538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 25, 2023, 10:02:37 AM
Who else is disappointed in Spurs? Not about their standings because it's obvious that they're one from the bottom now but about the recent actions of Wemby's teammates, Vassell, Johnson, and Sochan. This team has no superstar but the moves of these three were too obvious with Wemby. They're not passing him the ball despite his open positions and good plays that can be done. It seems that they cannot see him inside and outside the ring and they won't pass the ball.

Even the commentators have noticed those good plays that can be done with him for being open. I think that this team is seeing the best for their players and Pop should have noticed it already and he has allowed that to happen. There can be so much improvement from these boys but I think what the team needs is to hone Wemby together with this but if not, they have to trade these players that seen to have selfish plays and just get one veteran that's good in assisting and can all of his teammates that are open and to make better plays with them. It's just disappointing that they're like that but it is what it is.
There are some videos online regarding this one.

There are some possessions of the Spurs where Wemby is free at the paint, but they refuse to pass it to him. There are some possessions where he can get the ball when they pass it to him because his defender is way smaller than him, but instead, the ball handler chooses to pass it to the wrong person. I mean what's wrong with them? Is this what Coach Pop is teaching to his team? Is there some kind of jealousy going on with the team because they already know that Wemby will be the face of their team a few years from now?

Whatever happens with the team, I guess let's just not stress ourselves on them because, in the end, Wemby will be the face of the Spurs, and what they need are players who will compliment him. Trade those players who aren't fit for him.

Christmas day match-up, a lot of good games to watch,

Nuggets vs Warriors - GSW a change team after the Draymond incident, winning back-to-back.
Lakers vs Celtics - Lakers have the homecourt advantage
Knicks vs Bucks - Knicks looking to bounce back, will be at MSG
Suns vs Mavs - Suns on a losing streak, and we all know that there's no love lost between Luka and Booker
Nuggets - Warriors - Since Green's suspension, they are playing way better now. It seems like the change of starter helped them. Thompson seems to be getting his momentum already as he played better on their winning streak. TBH, I'll go with the Warriors on this one even though they are against Jokic and Murray. Let that streak continue. Cheesy
Lakers - Celtics - Classic match-up, but I'll go with the Celtics on this one even though they will be playing on the road.
Knicks - Bucks - It's hard to predict TBH, but I'll go with the Bucks on this one. Cheesy
Suns - Mavericks - The Father-Son duel will happen again Cheesy. I think I'll watch this one, and will look at how Booker and Doncic play. I'll go with the Mavericks on this one.

Pistons update again.

They're now on a 26-game losing streak, tied with the 2nd most currently that the 2010-2011 Cavaliers made. The current record is 28, and the next 2 games of the Pistons are against the Nets on their home, and against the Celtics on the road. They have a slight chance of ending that streak on their home against the Nets, but if I'm the bettor, I will go with the Nets with this one. The Pistons will lose to the Celtics that's for sure, and if the streak continues, they have a chance to break that record and continue it to 29 straight losses on their home against the Raptors.

As a Pistons fan, how could you see your team breaking the record for most consecutive losses, and take note that it might happen at their home? For sure, fans will boo them big time if that happens.

539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Too Expensive For Me. on: December 25, 2023, 09:28:19 AM
The value of Bitcoin has gradually reached great heights. It has become impossible for a new small investor like me to invest in Bitcoin. I am a very small investor. $2k wealth is mine. Well does Bitcoin provide any opportunity in future that I can invest.
You have a higher amount of money than mine, but I manage to buy Bitcoin still.

You're like some of the newbies out there that have what I call "1 Bitcoin syndrome" where they think that they can only own 1 whole Bitcoin, but in reality, they can buy a portion of that whole Bitcoin. I mean why do people think like this? What they want is to buy a single Bitcoin instantly, and if they can't, they'll think that Bitcoin is too expensive for them.

I'm like you OP when I was a newbie. I wanted to own a single Bitcoin at that time, but through out the process, I learned that I could still invest in Bitcoin without buying 1 whole Bitcoin. Buy Bitcoin weekly, or monthly basis, or depending on the availability of your money. You don't need to own a whole Bitcoin in just one buy, but you can buy portions of it until you get that 1 whole Bitcoin.
540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if all Bitcoin is lost? on: December 25, 2023, 08:56:21 AM
What would happen if all Bitcoin is mined and all Bitcoin is lost?
Then it will be the end of humanity, and at the same time, the end of Bitcoin or maybe the whole cryptocurrency.
Please don't take what I said seriously because nothing is true... aside from the fact that it will be the end of Bitcoin.

Come to think of it. What are the chances for this one to happen? What must happen for Bitcoin to be lost? With adoption increasing year by year, I don't think that this type of scenario can happen. I mean people aren't that dumb to lose "ALL" of their Bitcoins right? Yes, there are some Bitcoins that are unrecoverable already, but to lose all? Can't think of any scenario where all Bitcoins will be lost. Maybe if the internet will be lost forever then yes.

Don't think of it too much OP, and sometimes, a quick Google search, and a bit of common sense are all you need to answer your questions. Smiley
