521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Reliable Risers on: May 29, 2017, 12:58:57 AM
Some folks here said, that molex plug raisers are often not working properly...have not used those myself but...
also there are some raisers with additional caps 270mkF some with 150mkF, i would go with bigger caps and powered ones, who knows what kind of cards will be next gen and what power requirements will be, so for the upgrade sake, i take powered ones.
Server supplies are nothing extraordinary and no need to be guru to use them, the main difference is that they ARE louder, there are some people here who sell those in 1200w/1500w HP/DELL branded, with or without breakout board/cables.
Also ebay has some 2400W server PSU for ASICs that are basically HP/DELL OR 3000W IBM blade H series, but its huge and i bet it whines like F1 engine.

today is was messing with 2x1080ti - msi extreme oc and gigabyte xtreme oc versions - on stock clocks, with core2duo/8gb ddr2 ram/500gb hdd 7200 and about 5x120mm fans - at the wall, when mining, thing eats 680-720Watts (under 75'C) being said that, having powered raisers is plus, sa apparently those versions consume about 300W each at least and they have 8pin +8pin connector on each card (150w+150w)ave 18AWG

@Toptek
- those splitters have 18awg wire, according to Ampacity Table http://www.stayonline.com/reference-circuit-ampacity.aspx it can handle 7-10amps which is below 150W (P=UI  / POWER=VOLTAGE*CURRENT) so net step would be 16awg which is ok... but it is recommended to have those 4PIN PCIE splitters with 14AWG wire.

I know but I can't find them any place id rather use 14AWG wire,:)  you got a link to some made, i hate making my own ...and if the link i posted was 20AWG or higher i wouldn't have link it or said don't buy them because 20 AWG wire or higher is unsafe to use for mining rigs that was mostly a example of what to look for .

but if you know someone that sells the 14AWG wire splitters ?. i would buy a few .ID even go for 12AWG wire which would be over kill and cost a lot I'm sure . I run at default/stock setting on all my cards so shouldn't 18  be ok for 470 and 480 but i want 14AWG wire splitters, just can't find them, if they even exist for public sell.

and if you mean this server PSU

http://www.ebay.com/itm/252701978823?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

They are very quite  I hear the miner over them i was very amazed at how quite they are i expected them to be just how you said i own two and buying two more in time ..NO kidding on the noise part ...

I use one to power a Alchemist 256 with five fully working boards, all i hear is the miner, and i have replaced most of the fans on the miner to quite it down and use a siding windows fan at max speed blowing down on the miner and it works .... and @ about 1500 watts usage from five boards, no noise what so ever form the PSU. @ max for the PSU  can't say but if there is no noise at 1500 usages it should be ok at 2300 watts or @ max use .

today is was messing with 2x1080ti - msi extreme oc and gigabyte xtreme oc versions - when mining, thing eats 680-720Watts (under 75'C) being said that, having powered raisers is plus, sa apparently those versions consume about 300W each at least and they have 8pin +8pin connector on each card (150w+150w)ave 18AWG

yes, stock tdp is absurd and specially for gigabyte Cheesy now im on 73% tdp and eats only 180w Smiley founders ed.

definitely, but since I have density issues I need the highest hash power available so they are what's best for me atm - wanting to add more but I'm running out of breakers to throw the machines on... oh... and the heat... the heat! lol I've been reading for a couple days now trying to find proper cooling solutions - all my rigs (not really rigs, just computers 2 GPU each) are currently looking waaaaaaay bulky since they're all in Full Tower cases

ID move them to open air frames that should take care of a lot of the heat , i had two cards in a reg PC case and the heat was bad till I moved to open air frames now it ranges from 49 C to 62 C per card depending how bad the cooling on the card is at about 80 % fan speed per card . @ stock settings for two four card rigs.

I buy what ever card is the cheapest when i buy one most of the time with a rebate and don't care much about them being the same brand AMD card they All run the same to me and got some nice deals for RX 480 at RX 470 prices without using the rebate with the rebate even cheater ....I guess you would say i was at the right place at the time for those 480s.

I just started building my third open air four card rig.

Phil left out you need these type plugs if you are gonna  use a 220/240 line depending on the PSU

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007O0EIRU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Don't worry if you use a ATX Power supply's they Switch for 220 /240 lines when plugged in to a 220/240 line, but make sure anyway, someplace on the ATX Box it comes in or ON the ATX PSU  it should say something like 100 to 240 watt or volts it can used be used on , i can't remember the exact wording, Id have to look, plus the power cable that comes with most ATX psus sold in the US are plugged  for 120 lines, so you need the cable linked above or a version of it to plug into a PDU for 220/240 and for all server power supply's that only work on 220/240, if you go that route...

523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for GPU rack on: May 28, 2017, 11:07:10 PM
These are not cheap, but they are the best on the market imo. We have two of them and they are a joy to work with.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/222427931353?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

If you have the time, physical ability, and mechanical ingenuity for it I would build something with aluminum tubing, plastic fittings at the corners and holes drilled where needed for screws. You could also make something work with simple metal shelving, but how that would need to be altered would vary from user to user.

We have a few of these, but the price recently went up from $119 to $174....

http://www.parallelminer.com/product/all-aluminium-6-1-gpu-open-air-mining-case-barebone/

I have not tried these, but they look good and are from a reputable place.

I have that one on my wish list on Ebay in the US and plan to buy it soon .....it looks awesome and looks worth the 149 it sells for in the US or A version of the one you linked sold in the US .

cryptomined.com  seems cool if it's the same guy on YouTube, he does a lot of You tube stuff on mining and has his own store the only reason, i don't buy off him shipping can be as much or more for what I'm buying, not worth it to  me .
524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: recommend Hardware on: May 28, 2017, 10:15:27 PM
Script miners there are three one works ok the other one i believe works great and X11 miners not to sure about links below .

Innosilicon A4 Dominator
http://www.innosilicon.com/html/a4-miner/
I'm hoping they Improve it for other POOLS besides nice hash.

Antminer L3 +
https://shop.bitmain.com/overview.htm?name=antminer_l3_litecoin_asic_scrypt_miner
bit main has one you can per order you won't get till AUG @ there price or pay 5 k now and get one off ebay or Amazon, if your lucky,  by then who's knows what might be around .

X11 miners not to sure about them but they are there and others say they run great ...
http://www.ebay.com/cln/raginglikeaboss/x11-asic-miners/320359150019

or buy a few GPU's mainly AMD or NV cards ...and build two 6 card GPU rigs you should be able to build two rigs with 3 k cash (3000 € comes to a little over 3k cash in USD ) .  if you shop around ...

https://www.eastshore.xyz/
Book mark these guys so far they seem very honest, you get what you pay for and if they can"t get it, they refund back whatever you paid or have with a lot members on the forums.

I have personally bought a Innosilicon A4 Dominator from https://www.eastshore.xyz/  and got it when they said they said it would come.
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EthOS on USB? Thoughts? on: May 28, 2017, 10:04:40 PM
no Idea haven't tired it yet, i see they sell it on a USB stick now ..i rather have the SSD the last order, i made they sent it on a 32 GB SSD instaed of a 16 gb ssd the order said i would get .
526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Where to find info on how many gpu rigs a standard home can support on: May 28, 2017, 09:31:33 PM
The killa watt meters any of them in the US will not plug into 220 lines they are only made for 120 lines in the US and if you can, i would have at least two 220 lines with 30 or 40 amp breakers installed and buy a cheap used PDU off Ebay for 20 bucks ,to plug into the 220 and then plug your rigs into the PDU once you know what your house can handle and make sure it's covered by your insurance ..

.oyea don't use 30amp 120 breakers you can buy them . but not a good idea ....to use for mining to save on not having a 220 installed ..
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EthOS / Claymore 9.0 Dual Mining ETH and SIA on: May 28, 2017, 08:48:08 PM
in the claymore.stub.conf are these lines below:

uncomment and configure the -dpool and -dwal lines below to enable dualmining
.

Then  go to the local.conf in the home Directly and put in your pool and wallet for the ETH miner, if your using the local.conf, I think i haven't really look into setting up dual mining yet with Ethos.

I have only learned to use the local.conf and claymore.stub conf's for eth and Zec mining .. haven't tried the remote or custom conf's .no need to,yet.!!!

I have EthOS running on two rigs .

claymore.stub.conf

# WARNING! Remove "#" characters to enable lines, with "#" they are disabled and will be ignored by miner! Check README for details.
# WARNING! Miner loads options from this file only if there are not any options in the command line!

-colors 1
-dbg -1
-esm STRATUMTYPE
-epool POOL1
-ewal WALLET
-epsw PASSWORD1
-eworker WORKER
-allpools 1
-gser 2
-allcoins 1
-wd 0

#uncomment and configure the -dpool and -dwal lines below to enable dualmining.
-mode 0

#-ewal 0xD69af2A796A737A103F12d2f0BCC563a13900E6F

#-dwal DsUt9QagrYLvSkJHXCvhfiZHKafVtzd7Sq4
#-dpsw x
#-esm 1
#-mode 0
#-tt 70

then go to the local.conf in the same directly as the claymore.stub.conf and put in your pool and wallet for eth mining, you can leave the flags how they are for default setting, it didn't seem to matter if they are there or not .. if your using the local.conf, which is all i have learned to use.

some thing like below

local.conf

globalminer claymore
maxgputemp 85
stratumproxy enabled
proxywallet your wallet for eth
proxypool1 the pool you are using for eth mining.

globalfan 85
flags -logfile noappend.txt
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I put the -logfile noappend.txt line in,because i don't like a lot of log files every time, i reboot or restart the miner it would make one, other wise that line is not needed, and all it does is over write the old log and replace it with a new log from the session running instead of making a new one for each restart ..
528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Where to find info on how many gpu rigs a standard home can support on: May 28, 2017, 08:00:41 PM
worst case scenario is you can either upgrade the panel or run a sub panel -  i have a horrible panel only 100amp 120v so will be installing a subpanel or maybe even trying to upgrade to 200amp panel depending on what the electrician says. we were already in the middle of getting solar panels before I decided to start mining so we'll see how much that helps Smiley

I want solar panels bad and looking into it but ATM can't get approved due to some credit issue that are just about cleared up ...once they are, I'm going solar ..and NO more CC's  for me unless it's a bank card there nothing but trouble, this year i paid off a few and by next year the rest are paid off ,and I only pay with cash now ..

Id also buy one of these with a Syder kit, it's also solar ready .. if you can afford to, it's right on the money, so far and good @ letting me see just how much my 220 lines are pulling, i bought one with a Syder kit so i can monitor the 220 lines without using a hard ware meter and it tells me by the second , min , hour, something the power company were i live doesn't do .. they only report by the day, but it's gonna cost close to 500 bucks or more for a full kit with add on's.

http://www.theenergydetective.com/tedprohome.html   home kit only

http://www.theenergydetective.com/spyder   spyder kit and there is a few of them ...
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Where to find info on how many gpu rigs a standard home can support on: May 28, 2017, 07:13:43 PM
I am not an electrician , I am a technician of sorts but I don't have an answer on how many 6 gpu rigs running 1200 watt power supply could run on a circuit , in a standard American home. Yes I have tried googling this. Anyone have any kind pointers on how to figure this out ?

is your home a 200 amp service ?. I think you Have about 4000 kwh to play with..use 220 lines if you can ...you  should be able to put two 6 card rigs per 220/240 40 amp line...

id say maybe 5 tops in rigs, 6 is pushing it.

I'm  taking my Home farm to 4 4 card rigs because i also run two Script miners that total @ 300 MH . i  can make if i can deal with it all on for a month closes to 2 k ... before power cost with the price of coins going up,even more over time.

Also With coins going up like they are i may even look into a few upgrade kits some one is selling on the BTC forums  ( not side hack, I don't think he is yet . )  for my old S3, C1, two S1, and two S5 heat sinks with the controller, no hash boards.. I have laying around for BTC mining .
530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is ZCash hash so vram consuming also? on: May 28, 2017, 07:01:53 PM
GTX 1060 and up as well as a lot of the old AMD and all the new AMD cards work great for zcash . and yup memory doesn't seem to affect the speed if you over clock it.

 overclocking the core engine does.

I have a AMD r9 280 not the x version @ stock  setting that does 291 sol once it settles down after start up,using it to eth mine sucks but it's great right now for zec mining/zcash

531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for GPU rack on: May 28, 2017, 06:48:35 PM
https://rignetworks.com/

it's made of all wood hand crafted with a lot of room, the seller seems like he cares a lot, for the money it's not to bad but don't expect to much on the high end if you want one of those expect it to cost  like 120 or more with fans etc ...make sure to look though the Product Catalog.

or  Make your  own ..you can find tons of posts on the forums of frames others came up with, in other posts..
532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Reliable Risers on: May 27, 2017, 05:49:42 PM
why not buy these type http://www.ebay.com/itm/252953003440?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT  Risers
and then spit them with one pci plug per card with this http://www.ebay.com/itm/361651807884?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

some one made a good point in another thread the other day about how much safer it is to do it that way so, i did it and so far it seems the two rigs i have so far, run better and each card  and risers has it own PCI plug powering it ... from the PCI plug off the PSU and next thing,I'm gonna do is start using SERVER PSUs once i learn more on how to and either buy or put to gather one or two kits, so i can use server psu's ,,,
533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: May 27, 2017, 05:34:15 PM
This might be a Little off topic i went to buy a another 570 I ended up  buying  a GTX 1060 which btw I hate NVIDIA cards but building a small home farm month by month ... any way  the 570 are either out of stock and over priced , i might as well buy a GTX 1070 for what some are trying to sell some 570's for,the one  i have i paid 178 when they fist came out , i just hope it's because of no stock in the US  i found some are tiring to sell them at GTX 1070 prices or more, the 570 aren't that good.

IS there something going on ?. i can't seem to find info on the Webb why the 570 went up so much in price other then supply and demand .....

I was able to download it and am right now .. my beef is it works fine on NH , but i don't want to use just NH but all most any other pool i use it on under hashes by about 10 MH sigh ..... or lower .. i thought or was told by some one @ INNOSILICON That firmware 2.04 or higher should fix it soon, well it hasn't yet I tried 2.1 and the only way to reach full hash is mine on NH sigh ... which I don't always like mining on NH because NH only  pays out in BTC ...

my miner has the patch etc.. will it ever be fixed because NH won't change there way of paying out ,,ive asked a few times or will i be forced to keep it on NH only ? as time goes on ..? .

oyea other reason why Id rather use other coins is BTC are becoming a bitch selling some times, i have to wait for days for it clear with the right fees , even after I  re clear and add more Fees and re send it, so now i sell my btc to ShapeShift for ETH, they usually send and clear right away without selling directly to a exchange . the main one i have major issue with is coin base most of the time i can't send BTC to them any more but my LTC and  ETH go though with out issue .  so far ...i can do instant sells on coin base to my PayPal till they start sewing that up then it's time to look some place else ..I don't buy coins with cash unless i really really have to ..

I use BFG if i use my Gblade if you mean the 25 MH version, i a have g-blade black 25 mh  that sets it's kind of useless now ...and a 22 MH zeus miner i rebuilt that needs one more blade to call it a full 22 mh .

either buy one of these kits or peace one to gather by looking at the parts then search on ebay or Amazon . I never seem to have cash when they have them in stock  so i ll buy my own parts and put a kit to gather  and pally cost me less .

I guess that's where I'm missing out.  I haven't looked at anything but btc and eth because they have more of an illusion of stability.  I like what crypto currency in general is trying to do and of course enjoy messing with the hardware and the attempt to be a part of something that most people won't spend the time to try to understand.  And of course I'm interested in making a little profit while I'm at it.  My girlfriend's explanation to her dad when he asked what I was building my rig for was "Oh, he spent a bunch of real money so that he can earn fake money."  Lol.

yea id look at all there is no longer a hate for alt coins they all welcome it now but a few hard core BTC lover ..and a lot of them are starting to admit see whats going on ...I'm  kind of glad bitmain priced me out buying BTC Gear , i do better with alt coins SO they did me a big favor ..after S5 I see it as it's there lose ... ID rather buy off  GPU maker any way there not asshole like bitmain can be.
