521  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to encrypted privatek key and encrypted private key password? on: July 22, 2021, 03:50:51 PM
@ranochigo Now private key been decrypted, Thank you for the constructive reply.
Now, what you should do is to save that paper wallet or the private key to a safe place, that no one will know on your area/place, though the seller of that paper wallet collectible might know those details, so might be a suggestion to sweep it onto another address, not unless if the fund is not that much that could worry you.
522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin security in the long term on: July 22, 2021, 03:32:46 PM
there is a possibility that the network will become more insecure if there is less BTC to be mined, and it is possible that miners will stop mining if their land is no longer suitable. because every human must seek profit in all endeavors,
You mean the network will be insecure if there are less miners? Well, I don't think it will happen very soon, the increasing numbers of hashrate means that bitcoin mining is profitable that more miners join the guessing game. Hashrate falls this month but it still much higher than the last few years.

Like what happened to china, they banned crypto mining, but simply people just ship the miners to other part of the world to continue the operation, what I mean, banning crypto on some area, or no longer suitable on that land or having a hard time on some part of the world due to electricity cost or etc. wont stop someone to continue their work if it gives them enough and probably more profit.
523  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How can I use electrum to receive payments on my site? on: July 22, 2021, 02:22:31 PM
* Create 1 bitcoin address for every user that registers (I don't know if this is is how would I should be doing it since it could be resource intensive, but either this or 1 for every X users.
I guess blockonomics btc address generation getNewAddress() and getBalance(address) for checking balance can help you, it's much easier to use imo.

They didn't charge fee for this if you don't use their callback feature for payment status which probably you'll use for receiving payment, good thing the first 10 tx is free.

To avoid having the same address, just insert it to your database along with the users' info.
524  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Does blockchain.com refund stolen funds? on: July 22, 2021, 11:52:56 AM
And to avoid being hacked, you need to be careful from the way and how you're storing your keys, mnemonic phrases and login details. That's it. Do not entertain those giveaway posts that are instructing you to sign up for a certain and dubious link.
Actually, its not about how you store those confidential information, it's also a matter of what website do you access using those login credentials, if its the legitimate website or not (phishing clone website). Many newbies still fall for fake/clone websites, I don't have the statistics, but I see lots of reports, sometimes on scam accusation, B&G, or reddit threads.
525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Watch Live Here : Elon Musk Event 21/7/2021 on: July 21, 2021, 10:10:21 PM
I am asking about Bitcoin mining operations running off of nuclear energy. Are there any that do this?
Not yet, but soon, this early december might be the very first with Standard Power partnered with Energy Harbor (souce)

Also Compass mining with Microreactor in year 2023 or the next year.

And Ukraine plans huge cryptocurrency mining data centers next to nuclear power plants.
526  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hey newcomer's use your imgur to upload an image on: July 21, 2021, 06:47:42 PM
A little bit of a google like "upload image on bitcointalk" keyword will help them.

Thanks for your output though, you just add another post/thread for such question to appear in google.

Technically, newbies can't upload or show their images posted here even following your steps, image link uploaded from imgur or imgbb is enough not unless they purchased copper membership.
527  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin go down below $20,000. on: July 21, 2021, 06:37:29 PM
I only think it will fall into that price range if saylor's company (microstrategy) sells their bitcoin holdings which is not yet happening in the near future (they might be but not this year), and some fud's contribution.
While almost crypto price backs it feats now, going back to $32k isn't bad at all.
528  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Catch a thief on: July 21, 2021, 05:02:45 PM
Yes, I followed the same path and found that recipient Binance wallet. I contacted their support for information, has anyone heard of successful stories?
I've never heard of it, but you still have a chance of finding out the identity of the thief, it just depends on how you convince binance support. Just my prediction, Binance may ask for your personal identity or you should be able to stake your address as proof of ownership.
That's rarely happen, not unless you/op file a lawsuit on your country and ask binance to do such thing, it's not just convincing their support but their legal team since we're talking personal information here.

Again that was more than a year ago already, but why you just make a move now.
529  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will not be able to stay above $30k for 10 consecutive days ever again on: July 20, 2021, 06:53:55 PM
We'll start leaving the bear market behind. And we'll hear the footsteps of a new bull run.
Yeah, maybe next year if tesla will accept again bitcoin payment or wait till the 4th quarter since price differs always in the last few months of the year.

While others are selling and panicking that price will go so much down, there are some who buys the dip

530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't give your bitcoins to scammers on: July 20, 2021, 06:28:25 PM
I never trust this kind of events. It's obvious that it's not safe. Hackers captured even Elon Musk's Twitter account and swindled many people. Do not trust everyone!
You mean some twitter verified account got hacked and changed it's name to elon musk or any famous people. There are lots of the same incidents happened before. It just that many people are still ignorant for such obvious scheme, even though they knew it's a too good to be true offer but it just happens that they were more greedy and now this happens. It's just that people never learned.

531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons for newbies loss in bitcoin on: July 20, 2021, 09:16:36 AM
Most people here are affected by the number 3 even a non-newbie, once the price dumps some are in panic and thinking will get a huge lost if will not sell, so they will to prevent that huge lost and will buy buck after some time.

Also, in addition, because of greed and lack of knowledge, there are still a fraction who get lost due to scams believing such money making scheme will make them rich.

533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you first hear about Bitcoin? on: July 19, 2021, 09:13:57 PM

534  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Setup Telegram Bitcointalk SuperNotifier V2(TryNinja's Bot) on Telegram! on: July 19, 2021, 08:43:16 PM
I just wish the forum had something like follow a member so that you would not miss their posts. Using a bot like the one above is fine but it would be more convenient without downloading a browser extension to have it implemented on the forum and I think a lot of people would find use for it.
Most new forum software have this feature, considering bitcointalk uses an old smf version so this might be near impossible to be implemented as of now on this current software. Besides the new forum software is on development idk when it will be finished though but there are possibilities it will be added.
535  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Great experience buying from EastShore.xyz! Check them out! on: July 19, 2021, 06:59:17 PM
Such a dull website, and it's already a red flag, especially for a crypto miner store which is known to have lots of scammer online. I'm sorry but no one would believe you here especially from a newbie who just created the account to make such huge statement to an unknown website.
536  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for advice: gifting a paper wallet on: July 17, 2021, 05:32:22 AM
Ok so a little update... I created and printed out the paper wallet, it has the address bc1qrwc85tjunwql9zu9gew3q7knf70mv73tghtqyr and as you can see I deposited a small amount of Bitcoin on it. I tried creating a watch only wallet in Electrum (android) to see if it worked and... nothing. No funds on that address whatsoever. I tried sweeping the wallet with Electrum (both android and desktop) and Samourai Wallet and while they recognize the private key they don't find any UTXO...
Maybe you can wait until it sync completely with the use of internet, of course, if the address is correctly imported, most of this downloaded wallet need to sync, but not much of a time.

While importing a watch only address on some web wallets reflects almost instant.
537  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org look likes when using your mobile phones on: July 17, 2021, 05:28:23 AM
So what are you trying to imply here? People here already know that bitcointalk can be accessed using mobile phones.

Also, every looks of the forum/layout depends on the display size of the device, either horizontal or vertically used, zoomed or not.

By any chance, are you talking about software provided by Coldcard (coldcard-paper-wallet-templator & wordlist-paper) or built-in Coldcard feature (https://coldcardwallet.com/docs/paper-wallets)?

I'm talking about the build in paper wallet generator on the device itself.
If this coldcard is the one ETFbitcoin mentioned then yes, you can do that. Here's their youtube video, steps on how you can do that  4 How to make a Bitcoin Paper Wallet with COLDCARD

Just make sure that no one has a copy of that paper wallet other than you and the child of your friends or any of his fam you trust.
