1241  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this a good time to invest? on: December 06, 2020, 03:02:54 PM
People asked this at $3k, even will still ask this line when bitcoin at $25k, the same thing when btc reaches $30k.

Seems like bitcoin will stay much longer between $18k and $19k. It's just a matter of the # of $$ you want to gain when investing bitcoin.
1242  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake electrum on: December 06, 2020, 02:42:19 PM
Please flag as inappropriate->copycat the app, even this is an obvious fake for us who really knows the wallet, chances are newbies still fall for this.
1243  Other / Meta / Re: What the hell is THIS? on: December 06, 2020, 11:50:52 AM
It's just a common spam and click bait titles here mostly with a reddit link or a live video.

1244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 ledgers but different seeds? on: December 06, 2020, 03:30:44 AM
Security wise, I would have thought having the same keys for each ledger would be more secure ?
No, having a backup of your seed offline is much more secure than using another HW with the same seed as your backup or so. There's no difference of having the same seed on 2 different hardware wallets.

Just use your hardware wallet just how it use to, just connect it to a desktop wallet such electrum and mycelium or other ledger live for mobile device.
1245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OTC Over The Counter BTC Trading? on: December 06, 2020, 02:48:23 AM
Yes, coinbase offers OTC method when buying and selling bitcoin, same with gemini. So I'm pretty sure paypal buys bitcoin through to large exchanges such as mentioned above.

Coz there's no anonymous whales in their right mind will undergo on some selling process to this large business such as paypal, coz business will only deal to business with paper works, contracts and etc.
1246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government don't accept Bitcoin. on: December 06, 2020, 12:21:30 AM
Our country government don't accept bitcoin. If anyone use bitcoin and know it state police Caught him and give punishment. But i like bitcoin. How can i use it? And I want to explain that bitcoin is not bad for me. How can i successfully explain?
I would be wary evey little move you will do related to bitcoin such accessing crypto-related websites and services. Either your account on some crypto-services where you enrolled will be locked since its against their TOS, or you will be caught of the authorities with the help of your ISP even with the use of VPN. Though you can use TOR for more security but if the authorities are more aggressive of finding criminals (since you will be labeled as criminal) then much better to do it with risk as always.
1247  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: What are some trusted known web wallet on: December 05, 2020, 11:58:10 PM
I wouldn't recommend web wallets to anybody but one that I have used before is Coinb.in. [...]

I had there and the only bad thing I can say about them is that by default they add a 0.003 donation to themselves to your transaction. Adding almost $60 to your transaction without consent seems like malicious behavior and does not make them very trustworthy.
Non-custodial wallet yet based on your experience seems they can control and have an access to your funds, since they can get 0.003 without your consent. I suggest you to change your wallet, no wallet will force you to make donations and just like that will deduct your balance without you knowing.
1248  Other / Meta / Re: Notification when a thread with your post is deleted? on: December 05, 2020, 03:27:42 PM
Yes, deleted threads where you replied won't give you notification, only the thread starter.

Idk if mods/smf have an option to make notification of deleted posts to those who replied or op of the thread since some thread starter don't receive a notification from a deleted thread they made (Read it somewhere, Im sure here in meta)
1249  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Gate.io is down on: December 05, 2020, 03:19:18 PM
I just got an access of the website but after 2-3 refresh it gives me a 502 code error, I guess this is related to their host or maybe from massive traffic they're receiving. Give them at least an hour to resolve this issue and give it a try.
1250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin.com and its verify message for bitcoin. Is it trusted? on: December 05, 2020, 03:06:24 PM
I only found they have a tool to verify bitcoin message. Should I use their tool to verify bitcoin message? Are they set up any traps on their site and with that tool?
Nothing to worry about with their tool aside from getting your Ip address for ver's website and with their partnered websites such as moonpay.io when visiting the site. You can check it with a GET request when you open the network monitor tab of your browser.
1251  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Coinswitch.co exchange is scam using Exodus wallet! on: December 05, 2020, 02:46:54 PM
Exodus should be somewhat responsible for this if you use coinswitch on exodus as third party exchange. And you should request to disable this feature on Exodus from linking the exchange on their wallet to keep their users away from coinswitch.

If you've seen lots of users' complain on their telegram group without getting resolved after months of contacting them, I guess you should be able to prevent getting scammed if you read reviews from different sources first before using their service. Anyway try to contact them and keep them updated till they respond you.
1252  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Designers(Signature,Avatar, etc) Last Update: 19-Sept-020 on: December 05, 2020, 01:58:48 PM
I plan to add my graphic design service page in bitcointalk for some time.
Is it ok if I use some service pages as inspiration for creating my own?
Any suggestions and advice from fellow designers?
Not a "designer" but yeah, you can, just don't make it look like a copy-cat thread since most users here don't tolerate plagiarism, ask their permission if you can before posting your thread. Good luck.
1253  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: (summary) The loan defaulted of this year (2020) on: December 04, 2020, 07:23:17 PM
I actually wonder how asu and tym can repay such huge loans when I see their profile trust (neutral trust about the loan) before where tym doesn't have any signature campaigns in the very first place. Trading (as his purpose of loan) cannot always be in profit for him to repay that loan, the same with asu, though he joins some sigcamp but that won't suffice to pay for such short period of time of repayment (180 days).
1254  Other / Off-topic / Re: bitcoin whales background on: December 04, 2020, 06:15:37 PM
Whatever their jobs or business sure they have millions of holdings in $$$ before they started investing bitcoin/cryptocurrency, or they're one of the OG holding bitcoin when that was just a penny and sold their holdings after ATH for a particular year.

For the current year, exchanges and other venture capitalists are the known whales, Go check Winklevoss Twins, tim draper and Barry Silbert.
1255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will all countries accept crypto as currency? on: December 04, 2020, 04:38:55 PM
Country leaders that don't believe in the future and still see bitcoin as a threat to their economy will always be negative accepting crypto in their jurisdiction or let say, irresponsible leaders, to regulate such things.

Though some countries are neutral, without enough regulation but a good thing crypto isn't banned there, while there are some crypto-friendly countries like where I live in.

Yes, it works, verified using brainwallet, but you need to include the date today on your signed message.
1258  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance and its ToS that they can't follow on: December 03, 2020, 02:46:36 PM

Binance cannot freeze or close your account. You may search in your email history and find the email from Binance with the title "Successful Login From New IP" or "Confirm Your Withdraw Request". Then you can find an option to disable your account in these emails.
Sounds like, just change your password to random characters or forget your account, period. lol

Even if they somewhat "delete" your account, I don't think that they will remove their copy of your/anyone's personal details. There will be a chance that they will keep their users' details for future use, submission of tax-related issues to authorities, or anything related to money-making.

1259  Other / Meta / Re: Does this forum have a discord server? on: December 02, 2020, 11:11:18 PM
