541  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A lesson from other people's mistake can go a long way on: December 01, 2023, 01:16:53 PM

it would be nice for the community to drops tips and also past errors that he or she did that others can learn from to advance themselves or do you feel making the mistake ourselves is alot more experience than this?
After all, we commit fewer mistakes with the help of those individuals who share their mistakes. This is to imply that mistakes are a usual thing to happen to all of us whether we are new or old timers as no one is perfect. But the good thing is that these mistakes that we have experienced help us to become strong and even more careful of our actions and market response. And this is the reality - more experience, more losses but earning more ideas as well. Therefore, we don't need to be afraid of making mistakes because this is the reason why we are still here and keep learning.
542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What lies ahead for Bitcoin in the coming days? on: November 30, 2023, 10:04:33 PM
Hi everyone.
We can all agree that the starting of this year 2023 has been extremely good for Bitcoin and a few other Cryptocurrencies unlike last year 2022 that Bitcoin had an epileptic run and was literally struggling, making lots of people think twice about still choosing Bitcoin as their choice of investment.

I wasn't fully reliant on crypto investment as I also invest outside crypto but if we talk about investment here, no doubt that Bitcoin is still the most trusted coin. We don't need to think it twice and never think about the current situation because it has been proven already that Bitcoin has been growing since the day of its creation and it will continue to grow as its adoption keeps increasing. But of course, we never put all our money in Bitcoin, it was still the best option to invest on other platforms to gain assurance that our money was safe.
543  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Most Traders are Not Profitable on: November 30, 2023, 09:41:41 PM
Sad to know about it but yeah, only a few traders make their journey profitable. The reason why the majority had suffered losses is because
 - they are impatient
 - lack of knowledge

All of these things happen because of the influence of these social media influencers saying that they can make money easily and showing trading tips that never work in real life. Many have been fooled into such ads and they face the consequences of losing their money.
544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 30, 2023, 07:49:17 AM
So aside from the PBA season, there is also the East Asia Super League in which some PBA teams likely participate. I'm not sure how many, but I managed to bet on the Meralco Bolts today with a handicap of +10.5 (during live betting) against Jeremy Lin's team.

I was surprised that Meralco was able to control the first three quarters before struggling in the fourth. Usually, PBA teams are easily blown out in international competition, but here they were competitive, falling just short in the end.

What matters is that I won my +10.5 bet, as the Bolts only lost by 5 points.

Congratulations with your win, personally I'm not following the EASL but I'm happy that the SBP keep supporting our players to send abroad to participate in this league, just imagine the expenses they'll have to burn just to participate.

Anyhow, back to the PBA.. have you seen the ROS vs SMB, I thought ROS would be able to break there cold streak but they just fall short in the end. Lots of bad decision in the end turning the opportunity to the SMB, it was a close game, SMB won buy ROS covered (as usual).... Grin

GRATS kabayan here.
545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 30, 2023, 07:01:26 AM
A Healthy Zion, Ingram, CJ and Valančiūnas all the positions that will be covered, they just need to work as one and create a good blend of game plays.

If the Pelicans' core players are healthy, that makes them a really strong team that could pose a serious challenge to other top teams, especially in the playoffs. But at the same time, I am still skeptical about the Pelicans' performance this season because players like Zion are too injury-prone, and there is no certainty that he will be able to perform the entire regular season without getting another serious injury before the playoffs.

They are healthy now, but it seems like they have having problem recently as domonstrated but their inconsistency. As we all know, they are currently at the number 8 spot with 10-9 wins, this stats aren't too impressive. But anyway, as long as Zion is playing with the team, I guess they'll be fun to watch especially if this season Zion will last and finish the playoffs, that sure thing is a big achievement on their part knowing how "injury-prone" is Zion.

Further, I notice that Zion's stats drop a bit this season, probably he was adviced not to be over aggressive so he'll stay healthy for a longer period.
546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Often Do You Check Your Seed Phrase. on: November 29, 2023, 09:48:46 PM
The truth is that we all hard check our seedphrae because we have the believe that where the seed phrase is, it is very safe, we only go in search for our seed phrase when it is  needed . But I'm just reasoning that it is important to check the seedphrase from time to time not only when we need to . The seedphrase is also important as the bitcoin we have in the wallet so I think the seedphrase needs to be checked the way bitcoin balance is checked in the wallet, because if the seedphrae is been tampered with their will be nothing left on the wallet.
Perhaps, the only thing we need to often check is the transaction happening in our wallet just to sure that there is nothing wrong happen and unauthorized withdrawals. Because as long as our seeds phrase kept safely, nothing to worry about, and our wallet remains untouchable.
As far as I can remember, I only check my seeds phrase twice after the creation of the wallet and when I transfer location just to be sure that I've never lost the notes I've made, it is all about crypto.
547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sometimes betting is just ridiculous. Sometimes it is complete nonsense. on: November 29, 2023, 11:50:33 AM
I find it inappropriate to offer a betting option on the winner of a war; it's just edited, and the screenshot isn't even clear. Regarding other betting options, such as elections, Oscar winners, or music event winners, I don't see anything wrong with that, as people enjoy betting on various events.

What I believe is that a regulated casino won't joke around on serious matters, especially those that involve the lives of many.
548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 29, 2023, 11:18:37 AM
Bettors come alive now as the odds are already available and I'm sharing my picks also in case you want to follow (or fade???) Grin

Phoenix 1.41 and over 216.5
Congrats on the Phoenix win but sorry for the over as it went under. You should have bet on the Phoenix spread as they have won the game by a good margin, more than enough to cover the spread.

-----
waiting for ROS vs SMB odds.....

As for this game, the odds are now out and SMB is the heavy favorite with -9, I think  ROS will try to steal a win here, or if that would not happen, at least they'll play better making sure they'll cover the handicap.
549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it still risky to Invest into Altcoin now? on: November 28, 2023, 09:59:32 PM
If you say this will be risky, of course investing in altcoins will be very risky. But we as traders or investors must first do research on the altcoin we will choose. But for Altcoins such as ETH, BNB, SOL etc. there is no need to do too detailed analysis because they are altcoins that are quite popular. I even have some ETH and BNB to hold for the long term. Don't choose an altcoin whose project is still unclear, its goals and development are unclear.
well, besides, there are too many altcoins, the risk level of each altcoin will be different. If you want to minimize risk, you should choose popular altcoins as mentioned. I myself choose Ethereum and BNB. I really believe that the price in the future will be high, although there are still risks to that. However, all types of investment, especially crypto, will still have risks, even when you choose the best crypto. It's just that the level of risk varies.
If we could understand the underlying situation of the market and how crypto investment really is, many none risk-takers would do this.
Unfortunately, we can never change the nature of the market, investing here is too risky especially for new and hyped projects, most of them turn into a scam a reason why we should take extra caution when investing. Well, the best choice is to pick the top and known altcoins in the market but still, it never guarantees profit as it depends on the capability of the investors as well and that really matters in investing crypto.
550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 28, 2023, 04:03:45 AM
I would say Chet "could" be the rookie of the year, but I never liked giving the rookie of the year award to non-rookie players just because they were missing games. I think it was Ben Simmons who got it like on year three, that was really not good, maybe it was Embiid, not sure. All in all, Chet had more time with an NBA team, even when injured he was taken care of by an NBA team doctors, and trainers, and that is much better than some kid from France could ever get, dude was getting basically just "the best we got" situation there and he was still lacking.

All in all, Wemby still has time to turn this around, he is doing fine, he is not too far away, and if he could go on a rampage for a few games, he could do great. We have already seen him get close to 40 points before, so it is not really impossible for him to do that. Plus, getting rookie of the year has great benefits for your next contract, and that could be very profitable for him, so he would be more inclined to get it.

Yeah I think it was Simmons that won over Donovan Mitchell when he was in his 2nd season after being hurt in the first.
Chet didn't play 1 game last year so he is still elidigble.

You could say it's kind of unfair since he was able to train under NBA conditions but he was also in physical rehab for quite a while.
Wemby had the superstar treatment and good training conditions + professional games for a while now, so I think there are quite even in that regard.
For the moment Chet is definitely in front, they have simliar numbers in production but Chet has the much better shooting % as of now.

It's undeniable that Chet's stats are getting better than Wemby's, but he also has to earn the trust of the fans, and the media needs to hype his name so he'll beat Wemby in the popularity contest.

I like that this season we don't have a unanimous winner for the ROY. I mean, Wemby started strong, but Chet came along with stable and consistent performance to finally get the attention of the fans. If Wemby didn't struggle, like his team did, I guess Chet wouldn't be in the conversation now.
551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: November 28, 2023, 03:23:33 AM
My picks for the upcoming games.

1) WAS/Detroit  over 235.5
2)  Pacers/Portland over 240
3) Lakers/Philly (Philly -5.5)
4) Jazz/Pelicans  over 230.5
5) Den/Clippers Under 220

Good luck!

Seems like the trend today is leaning towards the under. Two games are already confirmed unders, and there's one currently live, with all signs pointing to another under. The Denver vs. Clippers matchup is like a playoff show, featuring two competitive teams. The Clippers are probably feeling the heat to show they've bounced back from a rocky start, so they might bring some serious pressure and defense to counter the Nuggets' strong offense, i'm expecting under will hit.
552  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If i have 1k how to trade future on: November 25, 2023, 02:55:30 PM
If futures trading with $1000 is done correctly then a trader can make good money. If you have some idea about futures trading then you can use laverage below 5X in the beginning. Using laverage below 5X will greatly reduce your financial risk. Increasing the amount of laverage increases the risk of your money. I think it is good to think of relatively low profit but never losing money with excessive risk.  Trading futures with $1000 is good if we can make relatively little profit but trading with $1000 if we lose $1000 hoping for extra profit then we will not have enough money to trade later. It is a good decision for a trader to start trading with 1000 dollars below five x laverage.
The result lies in the hand of the trader whether it is futures trading or spot trading and also, whether the leverage is huge or small.
But if we don't have enough experience in trading, spot trading seems to be the right choice rather than choosing futures trading. For me, it doesn't really matter if we possibly earn huge profits from futures trading because it is important that we look at our capabilities to do it well, or else, we just fail our plan.

Having $1000 could easily swept away if mismanaged so we should have to choose the right trading platform and strategies for protection.
553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you foresee crypto payments going mainstream soon? Why or why not? on: November 25, 2023, 02:27:38 PM
Here in my Country, there are many people who use online payments, and people are adopting this mode of payments very fast. People prefer to pay this way because it is less hassle than carrying cash, it is more risky especially if you are carrying a large amount of money. The transaction will be easier and there is no need to travel far. So it is very possible that crypto payments will become mainstream in the future especially if they see that the price of Bitcoin is not so volatile.
Well, good thing that the people in your country are adopting online payment which includes the use of Bitcoin unlike in our place where only a few people adopt the situation while many are still comfortable with fiat money. As seen in the current state of crypto adoption in our country, that is too far for crypto from becoming mainstream or to say, crypto will be on every business payment option.

Might it will happen in the future but I was not sure if I was still able to witness that time or not. Not I say the development is slow but the adoption is quite very low and this is because of its volatility and unstable transaction fees. To hard to encourage businessmen to accept the deal as I understand the high risk on their part as well.
554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Crowdfund for a Gambler Who Has Gambled Irresponsibly? on: November 25, 2023, 01:36:09 PM
A few days ago, I posed a question in this forum, wondering if, as someone who engages in gambling, you've ever considered thought of giving back to the community if you ever had a successful gambling run. I carefully went through all the responses, maintaining keen interest and taking note of each perspective. Another aspect of the inquiry involves whether you would be willing to participate in crowdfunding for a fellow gambler who reaches out to the public through social media seeking financial support after they gambled with the funds meant for an important project like, investment, school fees, rent, marriage or any other thing. And what would you say to those who go ahead to donate to these gamblers out of a sense of empathy?
The counter question is "Why we should"? Knowing the truth that he is an irresponsible gambler, he doesn't deserve support from us and from the community, he should have carried his own gambling journey alone. Could we think an irresponsible gambler would change and have the intention to do that? I don't think so. I'd rather gamble than give my money to someone that we know he can't handle and manage himself. Because after he has the money, he will forget those promises and the people who gave him.
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: coin memes don't have a project? Is it worth buying for the long term? on: November 25, 2023, 12:54:41 PM
Lately, another meme coin which is Pepe hit another unremarkable market event which continuing the history-making of meme coins this year.
We can't deny that it drives too much interest in the community because many investors multiply their money in just a short period of time making others join as well.  Many are still looking for it after the said event thinking that there is another meme coin that could make the same, so the search continues.

The question arises if this is worth investing in - and my answer is you should be cautious in investing with them as they are not good for long-term investing but just only during the hype.
556  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: November 25, 2023, 11:14:47 AM
I have observed that the rich, I mean those who are financially comfortable, win more in gambling than the poor. By poor, I mean those who do not have enough to meet all their needs. I don't know the reason for this. Could it be that the rich understand financial management more? Or could it be that the rich are less desperate to win which make them make better gambling decision? I really want to know the reason for this pattern I have observed.
They spend more because they can afford it but you never observed that they also lose more money than poor people.
Therefore, I could say that there is no pattern for that scenario because you have seen is only the winning side but never know the real thing that is happening to these rich gamblers. Of course, we can feel that they are in regret and never see in their reactions because that was just okay for them but those who are aiming to win, definitely can feel their sadness and regrets after losing their hard-earned money.
557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: November 25, 2023, 10:50:05 AM
If you are making $600 a day, that's $20000 in a month, and because you are only you start having interest to gamble, what do you think this is?
This should be greediness or lack of control of money made. I don’t know really but if you make so much in a month, gambling should be an option for you to go into. If this money you earn in a month can satisfy all of your needs, you need to just stay contended with what you have. Going into gambling without experience about it will only make you lose more money than you can gain when you’ve switched your forum to it only.
People who earn more and have an interest in gambling tend to gamble more because they can afford to do it. However, if they get addicted to it, they might lose the source of income that keeps them alive in the gambling arena because an addicted person cannot work or do a job to earn money since they will always be thinking about gambling and how they can win more or recover their losses or think about all sorts of things that happen when they are gambling.

That's why, someone who earns good enough should spend a moderate amount on their gambling activities and shouldn't make Bitcoin a way of income because it cannot be one, and when you try to make it one by force, you won't harm gambling but gambling will start harming you financially.
Even if you are rich and are capable enough you should still gamble in moderation because addiction will be the reason for your unnoticed losses that soon accumulate and empty your bank accounts. Gambling is not a bad thing but we never have to make this habitual and a solution to loneliness because we know how this could ruin our life once fall into addiction and uncontrollable emotions. Many people get in trouble with their finances and some even ruin their relationships which I don't think we need to experience that situation before we realize it.
558  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some people say they will never sell BTC. Is there any reason for that? on: November 25, 2023, 05:57:33 AM
So, time to time, I see some people saying they will never sell BTC. And I am thinking why is that? (I mean I understand that you can't say never, there will be a time you will have to use your BTC). Anyway, is there any calculations, reasoning behind this? Or it is just pure maximalism?

If there are reasons I would like to discuss them.
I hope they will see what will happen if they are holding Bitcoin forever because I don't think this will help the price of Bitcoin grow but instead, it make it dump. Maybe just holding for 10 years is quite reasonable but if we say, never sell that is a different story.
I think those people must understand how the market works - buy, hold, and sell, and these are the transactions we are supposed to see. If we think that not selling our Bitcoin will increase the price, then it is wrong as it only be the reason why people don't see any interest.
559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something you don't have to forget on: November 24, 2023, 09:53:52 PM
Until people don't believe in crypto and Bitcoin, they won't see the potential it gives to us, they will still ignore it. This is why even though the name of Bitcoin has been spread globally only a few people got interested in knowing it more because of the negative news spread as well.
In fact, we never expected the price of Bitcoin will reach this price and hit ATH and this is what gives us holders the courage to invest more and appreciate Bitcoin. Our experience helps us understand and see how valuable is this project not just in terms of investment but the future of the currency system.
560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most gamblers do not believe they can consistently make money, that's why... on: November 24, 2023, 12:16:54 PM
Personally, I firmly believe that there are people who have achieved real success in gambling. What perplexes me is why many discourage gambling as a means of making money.

Now, let's hear your opinion. In 3...2...1... go!

Your suggestion is that people can go underwater for 30 minutes straight with no equipment, yes it's possible and done by one or two individuals it doesn't mean it's an ideal situation for everyone that rule is what applies here too. You can make money in gambling which is true but making money from gambling consistently isn't possible or least from my personal experience.

I won't suggest anyone to to start gambling if they are looking for a way to make money.

I think youre not welcome here bro. Same as me haha but I agree with you. The odds in gambling are designed to favor the house, and many people experience significant losses. We shouldnt carelessly encourage enyone to try gambling just to earn stable income. It is possible yes to earn a lot of money in gambling but it is not for everyone and no one should try it with the money that they cannot afford to lose.

It favors the house, but that doesn't mean they'll win all the time. Even in sports betting, there's a house edge, but it's still up to you to mitigate that edge. When you choose odds like 1.99 and below, there's already a house edge, as your 100 will only yield a win of 99.

Sports betting is distinct because it involves real players in actual play; it doesn't rely on an algorithm like a game designed and created by a casino. Therefore, when you have skills, you should avoid games that are solely reliant on luck.
