Looks like the Warriors doesn't miss Draymond at all, since he was out they were already in a 2 winning streak.

And because of his absence, this opens up more playing opportunity for Trayce Jackson-Davis, who has been playing well in their win against the TrailBlazers. Though I don't want to get myself too excited on the win since I know myself that Trailblazers is not a playoff team, but the Warriors despite Curry was struggling, his teammates were able to step up, specially his splash brother Klay who scored 28 points that game.

Good thing they managed to win. But it's not that significant knowing they won against mediocre teams. And the Warriors only won by slim margins. The real score will be known in their next game as they will be hosting the Boston Celtics. If they can win that game then it's a sign that there is hope even without Draymond.

If the Warriors can maintain a rank in the top 8, then they'll be fine even without Draymond. But they'll need Draymond during the playoff games. The deep experience, superb defense, and the ability to set up plays are just too good to be missed by the Warriors.
They only won against Brooklyn and Portland, and yes they might be a mediocre team, but those 2 wins might be the start of the team gaining momentum in their future games. In that game against Portland, we saw Wiggins and Thompson stepping up, and maybe this is the start of them gaining momentum in their future games... or not. Cheesy I mean they're very inconsistent at the start of the season.

TBH, I don't know if they will win against the Celtics. They're on a 5 game-winning streak as well, and as for Draymond Green, just let him do his sh*t out there and just serve his indefinite suspension. If the Warriors will be playing better without him in the next games, that might be a sign for him to get traded to another team already. Kuminga might not be the same as Green in terms of defense, but what's good in Kuminga is he's very explosive, can help on offense, and an athletic player as well. Ohhh wait his young as well. Smiley
562  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc dump to 39600 on: December 18, 2023, 08:28:51 AM
Btc broke 42200 support
Now the target is 39600
Who cares?
Probably day traders are the ones that are affected by this fluctuation, but if you're a mid to long-term holder of Bitcoin, why should you care?

Whether it goes below $40,000 by the end of the year, or it goes $45,000, or even though it goes even lower than the target price you shared, I don't even care at all. I've seen Bitcoin's price as low as a thousand dollars already, and I've seen Bitcoin's price going up more than 3x, and I've seen it go down to as low as 70% to even 80%. At the end of the day, BTC will go down like what we are seeing right now, but in the long run, it will go up like what it does every 4 years... or is it? Tongue

The decision of the SEC regarding the Blackrock Spot Bitcoin ETF will be shared with the public in the 1st quarter of 2024. Expect Bitcoin to go up hard, or to go down hard. It will depend on that decision. Cheesy
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You must have a source on: December 18, 2023, 08:06:45 AM
You must have a source of income if you must succeed in your holdings.
This is self-explanatory, and take note that this doesn't apply only to investing, but to everyday lives as well.

After you graduate from college, find a source of income already, and don't be a burden to other people. I mean if you want to invest then you must have an income source for you to have some funds to be used in investing. What do you want? You will ask favor from your family to give you money that will be used in investing? Kind of funny.

Most people that have sold their Bitcoin holdings at a loss or at an average price actually have the patience but don't have the knowledge of how to hold, because a good holder must be aware that he needs a source of income for him to be able to consolidate to his holdings.

It has happened to me severally, I have been able to hold now, since I started working as a merchandiser with Guinness, I think most times, experience is the best teacher.
You don't need knowledge if you want to hold.
What you need is self-control.

TBH, even a newbie out there who has little to no knowledge about Bitcoin can hold as well. Many investors out there know everything about Bitcoin, but they can't hold because they can't control their urge to sell whenever they see Bitcoin up double-digits in just a few weeks. Self-control for me is more important for me, and as for the source of income, we all need it.

Re: Secure your crypto wealth by not having it all in crypto
It's self-explanatory. In short, just diversify.
When I say you need to diversify, I mean don't diversify it into a single asset like cryptocurrency but instead, diversify into different asset classes

Stocks, Bonds, Real Estate, Commodities like Gold, Silver, etc. I mean there are many asset classes out there for us to choose from. With this kind of strategy, you lessen your risk of losing your money. Many users here think that when you invest in Bitcoin and other altcoins, they think they're already diversifying. Well, you are diversifying since you invested in different coins, but the risk is still the same since we know how volatile the crypto market is. Investing in different asset classes lowers the risk.

I've been in crypto for years already (though I'm not an expert still), but I've seen numerous hacks that happened yearly already, and these events made me realize that I don't need to put all of my money into crypto, but I need to invest into lesser risky assets as well like the Index Funds, other Stocks, and Bonds. What OP said was true, and I hope many will not go all-in on crypto like what others are doing.
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum price before Christmas on: December 18, 2023, 06:15:11 AM
$2500.

No technical analysis was done on my part. Just pure prediction. After all, even though you will make your technical analysis, you will not predict what can happen in the future with 100% accuracy. What's bad is that the market hasn't looked good in the past few days because after Bitcoin reached as high as $44,000, the price of it is going down, and that includes most of the top altcoins as well. TBH, I'm also thinking that we might see Bitcoin ending the year with its price lower than $40,000.

Overall, Ethereum is a good long-term coin to hold so even though you will just buy today, in the long term you will get profit. One thing more is that we aren't in a bull run yet, so if you bought today, just hold it until the bull run starts.

It seems like you're one of those investors who did the same as the investor who went all in on DOGE, and became a millionaire when its price was at its peak, but now still holding it. Cheesy
Did you buy it at the peak? I don't know, but just prepare for the worst I guess.

The last time DOGE reached the $0.60 price was wen Elon Musk promoted it, and that made investors very excited (including you I guess) thus, bought at the top hoping that Musk would be the reason for the coin to reach a dollar. Unfortunately, many of those who expected are now at a loss because the price of DOGE went down a few days after reaching its peak. DOGE's price doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Maybe it can during the bull run. I mean many of the top altcoins increase in price during the bull run and that might include DOGE.

Just wait for the bull run I guess then sell at that time to lessen your losses or maybe gain some profit if you're lucky. DOGE isn't doomed, and still be one of the best meme coins out there, but don't hold it for the long term, or at least I don't recommend it.
567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ordinal blockchain irking me, causing almost $40 median fee now... on: December 17, 2023, 09:53:23 AM
As of this moment, the "Low Priority" transaction is at 475 sat/vB which is around $27.
TBH, this is the highest transaction that I've seen ever since. The largest that I saw was way back in 2017 when it was around $23.

Right now, Bitcoin is unusable for small transactions because of these high transaction fees. Maybe if you send huge amounts of Bitcoin then you don't care about the fees, but for the average investors who are using the DCA strategy, it's kind of nonsense to do it because of what's happening. The only option that I see is to use another altcoin, send it to an exchange, convert it into Bitcoin then STORE it there. That's if you want to risk your assets.

I wonder how the signature campaigns that are paying their participants through Bitcoin will react to this one. Nevertheless, this ordinal thing causes trouble to us average investors. TBH, I might opt to invest in other top altcoins then will just convert it into Bitcoin once transaction fees go back to normal.

P.S. It's already at $34 per transaction. Cheesy It's just a bit surprising that there are still many people who are still transferring their Bitcoins despite it's high fees.
568  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What thread can earn newcomers merit on: December 17, 2023, 08:24:13 AM
We all know the beginning stage is not easy as a newcomer needs to be patient. Atleast he or she should be getting no matter how little some reward for their resources in terms of time and materials.
I joined the forum and all I told some people around me about it, the next question is," how much have u earned", I was absolutely discourage as I remained mute till date.
Just answer it with nothing LOL.
Right now with your current rank, you will not earn anything aside from some useless tokens coming from bounty campaigns (altcoins). Money-wise it will be hard for you to earn still, and just tell the truth to them. Why choose to be silent?

Do you not consider "knowledge" as a reward? Tell me about another forum that gives lots of knowledge like this forum. Take note that it's free. What reward are you saying? Oh, it's money. You already said that it's really hard at the beginning. It's the same as applying for a job. If you are inexperienced and don't have any knowledge at all, it will be hard for you at first, but over time as you learn more and more, it will be easier to apply and get a job. You said that newbies need to be patient, and they need to. The problem nowadays is that people don't have the patience to wait for something, and they want the rewards to be instant. Like what's happening to the world already. Cheesy

Just do your sh*t here in the forum, and don't let negative thoughts interfere you. If you're here to learn then focus on it. If you're here to earn then focus on it as well. I mean you can do both though.
569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 17, 2023, 04:12:51 AM
It's painful to watch this Pistons. Bucks made 30 points difference in just 14 minutes. I know I should've bet for them at -20.5 handicap but I couldn't. There's no place for emotions in that. Meh, let's enjoy the game. Beauchamp started good, now Portis is feeling himself. They don't even need Giannis tonight.

It’s hard to imagine that a team of professional athletes can win so few games and lose so badly. It’s like they’re not trying to win games…

I was bummed to see that Bradley Beal was injured again yesterday. Looks like he only got 4 minutes on the court with Durant and Booker. I hope he gets healthy soon and there was some silver lining as he shot 2-2 for 6 points while draining a 3 and a free throw for a 4 point play that left him injured.
For me, they aren't professional players, but from what I see, they're like a bunch of collegiate players that are playing in the NBA.
I mean how can a team have a losing streak of 23 games? If it's a winning streak then that's something that they can be proud of, but a losing streak of 23? What the hell is wrong with the team? I wonder how the Pistons fans are feeling right now when they see their team have this kind of achievement... a negative achievement. Cheesy

The record is 28 games, and they're now on 23. Their next 6 games will be against Phoenix, Atlanta, Utah, Brooklyn 2x, and Boston. Out of the 5 teams they'll be facing, the highest chance of them winning is against Utah which is kind of having a rough season as well. The rest will just demolish them. TBH, we might see the 28-game losing streak to be broken by this Pistons team. That's how awful they are right now.

As for Beal, he will be out for a few weeks, and it's good that it wasn't that serious at all. It's just a bit unfortunate that in all of their 25 games, Durant, Beal, and Booker only played 1 game, and they lost on that one as well. I wonder if this might be the same as what happened with the Nets when they still got Harden, Irving, and Durant.
570  Other / Meta / Re: How did you know about Bitcoin and Bitcointalk? on: December 16, 2023, 11:22:59 PM
Now, two questions for you.
  • How did you know about Bitcoin? From good news or from bad news?
Neither good news nor bad news.

My friend introduced me to both Bitcoin. He didn't say that much about the information about it, so I did some research about both of them and got interested in it. At that time, I had just graduated from college as well, and I didn't have anything to do so I spent my time back then watching documentaries, reading articles online, etc. etc. I can't forget the fact that you can get Bitcoins thru faucets, and that's free. I mean just a few clicks and you will get satoshis already. If only I knew back then that Bitcoin would become this huge, I must've kept all those Bitcoins that I got for free. No regret on my decisions though. Smiley

Now, two questions for you.
  • How did you know about Bitcointalk?
The forum has been introduced by my friends in my community. He said that the platform was a place where I could learn about Bitcoin aside from YouTube, and since I'm kind of curious about what Bitcoin is, I did a quick research about Bitcoin, and I got hooked up with the idea of it, and decided to register in this forum. Of course, I will consider myself a hypocrite if I do not say the fact that you can earn money here while learning. I mean who doesn't want money right? You are learning here, but at the same time, you are earning as well, I just graduated from college at that time, so I need to learn how to make money by myself.

Overall, Bitcointalk has been a great platform for me not only because you can get much information here with regards to Bitcoin, and cryptocurrency in general, but also because it helped me become better at speaking English. By interacting with other users here, I learned how to be more effective in interacting using the English language.
571  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Know when to stop on: December 16, 2023, 10:47:14 PM
~
To sum it off, JUST STOP TRADING at all. Cheesy
High-quality trades? More complicated market setup? What do you mean by this?

Learning when to stop is needed when it comes to trading. If you feel that you aren't ready then trust your instincts, and follow your strategy (if you have). Having a stop-loss might help you if you feel that you entered at the wrong time because of wrong decisions. Nah just stop trading because it's too complicated for newbies. You need to learn many things like controlling your emotions, knowing when to use stop-loss, and many more.

Anyway, I'm just kidding but TBH, I already stopped trading because I lost all of my capital 3x already, and that's too much for me. I already realized that trading might be not for me, and I hope those who are continuously losing money in trading will realize that as well.

In this current economy, it's suicidal to have only one source of income.
If you must live well you must be ready to grab the bull by his horn am make life changing decisions by having more than one source of income.
Don't put your financial destiny in the hands of your bosses, you might not know the importance of having your own business till you have been sacked. think about it.
Before the pandemic, having only one income source might still be viable, but after the pandemic, with the price of commodities and goods increasing and continuing to increase, having one source of income is not an option anymore "UNLESS" that only source of income gives you 6-digits per month then that might be an exception.

Overall, building a business isn't the "ONLY" way for us to become rich. Building a business isn't the only way for us to be financially free because there are many ways for us to achieve it, and not all of us can build a good and sustaining business. TBH, I don't want to work for a BOSS, but for me to learn even more, I need to because working for them means you are learning as well, but not all are like me which is quite unfortunate. Business isn't the only way but there are still some other ways, and one of them is being a freelancer. I know that being a freelancer means you will still work with different bosses, but still, it can be another source of income aside from your day job.

Having one source of income might be a good thing to do, but even if you still build your own business, it might fail if you don't have the knowledge that will help you. You pinpoint business in your post like it's the only way for us to be financially free, and I disagree. Having an investment that gives you dividends every year can be a big source of income as well. That is if you invested. Cheesy
573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 16, 2023, 03:13:56 PM
The interesting thing to me about Draymond Green’s suspension is that it is indefinite. I can’t recall ever seeing the NBA do this type of suspension before. I think it’s a good thing as long as he doesn’t come back next week and I think it shows the league actually cares about his mental health a bit. I also think if they suspended him longer for the Gobert choking, this may have been avoided.
I did a quick research, but I can't find as well.
The last time that I heard of a player being suspended indefinitely was not in the NBA, but in our local league (PBA) where a player got suspended indefinitely because of clotheslining an import. IIRC, he got suspended for at least a year or more after that incident. Now he's back and isn't as violent as he was before the suspension.

As for Draymond, they didn't specify the number of games that he will be missing, but I guess it will be at least 25 games. Maybe even more, maybe way less, but one thing's for sure, his absence will greatly affect the Warriors' defense, and there's no player in the Warriors right now that can be as good as Draymond in terms of defending. I just don't like how he's playing throughout this season TBH, and I will not be surprised if this incident will be the catalyst of the management breaking the core of Steph, Klay and Dray. I mean even Coach Steve Kerr had enough of his antics already.

~
Good job Spurs, finally the losing streak is over!
Give some love to the Wizards as well because they also ended their 6 game-losing streak when they won against Indiana.
It's just a bit funny that the 2 most-bottom teams won against the 2 teams that faced in the In-Season Tournament.

As for the Pistons, the losing streak continues and they're now at 22. I guess they are trying to break the current losing streak record which is 28. Cheesy I also saw a Facebook post regarding an ad on the Pistons saying "If the Pistons win, all will get 5 Boneless Wings." I mean it's kind of funny that they're even giving free food when their team wins. Cheesy

This is the amount in my local currency i believe it will get me up to 90 dollars of bitcoin. I am waiting for my friend who will help me buy it by the weekend.

Thank you mom, Thank you dad. And thank you Bitcointalk.
These threads like this that come from newbies sharing their experiences when they bought their first Bitcoin are becoming more and more popular nowadays.
I mean I've seen some of these types of threads getting some merits from some high-ranked users. Is this the new trend already? Cheesy

Don't take what I said seriously OP. I'm just happy that some people are willing to help you buy Bitcoin. There are some people out there who want to invest in Bitcoin, and they have all the knowledge that they need, but the only thing that hinders them is the lack of capital to use to buy some Bitcoins for the long term. You're lucky that there are people around you who support you because there are some out there who don't even support their family members in what they do and that includes investing in Bitcoin for some reasons.

It's good that you have a friend that's willing to help you buy Bitcoin. I just hope that you take care of those Bitcoins, and don't just buy now, but continue to accumulate. Smiley
575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin community are in support of BRC20 on: December 16, 2023, 02:18:29 PM
I don't like to say this, but I suspect that the miners. "ALL" of them are in support of BRC20.
Why? BRC20 became more popular = bitcoin transaction fees will be higher and higher transaction fees = more profit to those miners.

Maybe some are just trying to ride the hype, and they don't care about high transaction fees? It all comes to money in the end. Those who will gain more will support whatever it is. I don't know if this Ordinals thing will be removed, or at least it will not affect the transaction fees of Bitcoin, but one thing's for sure, those who are doing Dollar Cost Averaging with Bitcoin might have to adjust how frequently they need to buy because of these insanely high gas fees.

SATS? RATS? CATS? I didn't hear these coins until today. What would be the next names of the coins? BATS? DATS? GATS? HATS? LATS? PATS? WATS? :X I guess this BRC20 hype will remain until the bull run.
576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best piece of advice to anyone going into bitcoin on: December 16, 2023, 02:01:22 PM
Buy a little bit of bitcoin every week don't care if it's a $1, $5, $10, $100, figure out what you can afford every week and buy it, get rid of unnecessary expenses or whatever you can think of getting rid of and spend it on bitcoin
5 to 10 years if you buy some every week you will be a multi millionaire
In short, it's Dollar-Cost Averaging. Cheesy

Though that strategy is already proven to be one of the safest (if not the safest), and one of the best strategies especially for newbies, this type also takes time to maximize your profits. In crypto, you need at least 4 years to maximize your profits (that is if you believe in 4-year cycles), and not all investors have that amount of time to wait for their profits, so as much as I want this for many investors to be using this strategy, the older ones can't use it or at least they can't maximize it. If you're a young investor, doing DCA would be a good strategy.

I just don't like the fact that you're saying that in 5-10 years, of buying every week you will be a multi-millionaire. Is this proven already? If yes then where did you see it? I mean I don't buy Bitcoin daily, but I don't believe that I would be a multi-millionaire if I did. Consider also the fees that you will be using as well. That's also the reason why many investors opt to buy Bitcoin on a weekly and sometimes, on a monthly basis.
577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is effecting Market? on: December 14, 2023, 08:25:40 AM
~
Furthermore, due to its global reach and impact, fluctuations in the price of BTC can also have an influence on traditional financial markets. For example, when BTC experienced a sharp decline in 2018, it also caused stock markets around the world to drop.

So guys what are your thoughts about current situation.
There is a term called "correlation" where Bitcoin and the stock market are somewhat correlated in terms of their price because both of them move the same... or at least there are times when both are moving in the same direction. Of course, some factors might cause both of them to not move the same like the sentiment of the investors, economic events, etc. Nevertheless, if you see the stock market go up in price, there's a high chance that Bitcoin will follow it. It's proven, and we've seen it many times already.

BTC isn't the one that's affecting the market, but the stock market. I believe that market sentiments are a big factor towards the movement of different assets thus, if there's some positive news being released that's related to the stock market, Bitcoin will also have a positive effect as well, or at least most of the time. Just reverse what you said. Smiley

Think about this. The Stock Market and Bitcoin have a correlation. Most of the altcoins and Bitcoin have a correlation as well.
578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 14, 2023, 07:42:15 AM
Honestly Nurkic is right, Draymond seriously needs some counselling and help. At this point I can say that it is at a "psychological help" level, he needs to go see some professional about this, and I am not sure if he does or not, but I am pretty sure that he needs to do that a lot better, if he is already seeing someone then he needs to change that person because obviously it is not helping.

His defence was "he was holding me", really Draymond? Really? He was grabbing your waist so it was only natural that you got mad and swing at him? That's the defence? He must realize that he has been hurting the team a lot lately and at this stage I am pretty sure that if Warriors just cut him and let him leave, literally like waive him, they would be even better.
Whatever the reason is, Green must not do that to another player. I mean yes he's a great defender, and we've seen it in his whole career, but the thing that I don't like about him is those unnecessary movements that cause him to miss many games, and miss multiple thousands of dollars as well.

I'm a Warriors fan, and even though they're struggling in their last 15 games getting a 4-11 win-loss record, I still don't want how Draymond is playing this season. Just imagine, it's not halfway through the season, and he got many technicals, and ejections already:
  • Received 2 technical fouls against the Cavaliers that caused him to get ejected.
  • Choked Rudy Gobert, and got suspended for only 5 games.
  • Now he just punched Nurkic and got suspended indefinitely.
I love his energy inside the court, but that's too much, and for sure many here will agree with how the NBA handled the situation, and gave the suspension to him. The problems in the Warriors are starting to emerge already. Thompson and Wiggins aren't contributing offensively, and now Green getting an indefinite suspension. I guess it's good that the bench and the rookies are starting to step up as well. Players like Kuminga, Podziemsky, Saric, and others are stepping up offensively to help Curry at least.

I will not be surprised if there will be a time where Coach Steve Kerr will try to start players like Kuminga, and Saric in some of their games especially if they're contributing on offense. Good luck to the Warriors I guess, and I hope they will cope up with their problems that they're facing.

Can someone please guide is it a good practice to start investing in Bitcoin in this upcoming January-2024?
My first question is, why wait for next year if you can invest now?
If the one that hinders you is the lack of knowledge about Bitcoin then yes I guess you can delay it, and invest next year, but if you have a bit of knowledge already that will help you then why choose to invest next year if you can do it now?

The more you delay it, the more opportunities that you will be missing. Just imagine those who didn't buy Bitcoin last year because they were afraid. Just imagine how much profits they lose just because emotions got them. As for guides, this forum, and Youtube are the top 2 platforms that can help you learn more. Of course, there are some other platforms out there like X, Facebook, Reddit, etc. but the 2 that I shared are the ones that helped me the most.

There's no perfect time when it comes to investing, so as long as you have the money then just invest. Just a reminder that don't invest when we are already in a bull run. We aren't so take this opportunity to accumulate not only Bitcoin, but some top altcoins as well.

So I gave him my Bitcoin wallet address and he transferred the funds.
It's now complete.
But can he now withdraw the money since he has my bitcoin wallet address?
TBH, I don't know if this is even a real one or a made-up story only.
Many already said in your thread that the sender can't get his Bitcoins back unless you are the one who will send it back to him.

Like what users are saying here, I'm also skeptical about your motives here because you are posting about trading bots. I mean why are you asking questions like this when you are into trading?
