61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this true or some superstitious believe about gambling? on: May 13, 2024, 05:55:08 PM
i think he's lost too much in gambling before he stopped and is looking for anyway no matter what to discourage people from being like him or he's just being too superstitious. What's your opinion about this please?
Probably this is really the case. He's giving advice based on his experience as a former gambler. Thus, obviously as a gambler with such past, it's just normal to discourage others to not gamble. Because it can really lead to addiction if a person has no control (he's quite right about that).

However, I don't agree that gambling is satanic and there's a demons behind casino. Keep in mind, casino is a business, and it's in the gambler's discretion on how they want gambling to affect them. There are gamblers who can play in moderation and doing fine. Because it depends on the gambler itself and not the casino. You became addicted? Well, it's because you have no discipline.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Using A Journal Spreadsheets Will Pave The Way For Addiction To Gambling on: May 11, 2024, 01:14:27 PM
I want to ask: Are Using A Journal or Spreadsheets Will Fave The Way For Addiction To Gambling? My reasoning is that by creating a spreadsheet or a journal, you are taking gambling seriously and looking for ways and a means to win in sports betting or luck-based games.
No, I'm not using any of it. Usually a gambler who's making a record of his gambling activity wants to see the progress if he's in profit or not. Just like the gambler in op's example, he has a target amount to reach and we know it's not easy. Seeing the losses can only bring a regret in my part. Therefore, it's better not to make a record so I can stop dwelling in the past. It might be helpful for gamblers who take gambling seriously, however we know for some of us, it would be best to just leave everything behind.
63  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do people lose in gambling and still go ahead and bet more? on: May 10, 2024, 09:07:01 AM
I've a friend of mine who always complain that ever since he started gambling he haven't won a good amount, instead he'll be winning less money than what he expected but he can't stop. So I'm asking what do you suggest he should do at this case. For me I told him that he should know that gambling it's a game of risk and luck, but with the constant betting you might win the amount you've at mind someday. So what are your suggestions towards this.
If playing is not enjoyable anymore then what's the purpose to continue? Unless if he's really after profit with a goal of gaining huge. Because those gamblers who have this desire can't stop even they keep on losing. Just give him advice to just play in moderation because gambling is a game of luck and chances to profit is slim. It's better to gamble and have fun rather than spending money then you'll be tempted to play again because you want to recover the losses.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: May 09, 2024, 09:53:23 PM
Gambling is a place to spend money, although many gamblers consider casinos to be a place to earn money. But in reality, more gamblers lose their money at casinos or gambling sites. So I think all of us here probably have almost the same experience, namely losing a lot of money gambling

I also lost money because I lost on gambling, but maybe not that much. But I know there are people who spend a lot of money for gambling. In your opinion, what should we do if we have lost a lot of money on gambling? Do we keep gambling to win so we can cover up previous losses? or stop and work normally and leave gambling? Or do you have other suggestions?

Well for me, I will continue gambling to recover my lost even if it's not all but at least some to make me feel at ease and we know that gambling is not something that we can easily left behind especially if we are losing more than our winning, and when I have the mindset to recover my lost, I still lose more so I will apply another strategy, that is I will give it a break then before continuing again, by that time, I have calm my nerves down a bit but it's very bad to have such habits because it will still make us to lose more money. So it's better to gamble responsibly and think of gamble as a form of entertainment.
Playing with a desire of recovering your losses are not really healthy. As you've said, you'll end up losing more. There are gamblers who have such thinking because they can't move on and the usual reason is, the money they spent in gambling is the money that they can't live without. Thus, trying to recover it is their goal on why they continue to gamble. Well, moving on is hard if you can't accept the result.

Therefore, learn to accept the reality that many gamblers are losing their money than gaining in gambling. This way you'll have less expectation to win because not everyone are fortunate to experience winning a decent amount. So if you lose, refrain from playing for a while, and just play if you already forget your last gaming session wherein you lose your money.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 09, 2024, 12:12:40 PM
Minors should not be allowed to gamble especially these kids are still wearing their uniform. The owner must have a certain rule about the age of gamblers who can play on their betting shop. Here in our place, it is prohibited for younger ones to enter in a physical casino, they're strict on following the set rules.

Aside from minors are still young to engage in gambling, they are still relying on their parents financially. Therefore, the money that these kids are spending in gambling came from their parents and probably meant for school needs and as their allowance. That's why it's crucial also for parents to monitor their kids. Proper education is really necessary.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: May 08, 2024, 10:27:22 PM
There were a time when I used to care about what people thought of me, then when I was a student, especially if I visited the betting shop, once I came out, I would always look down when I saw people looking at me but after I graduated from Uni, I started playing on my mobile phones, I will open the site in the public places without caring about what they will say, because while I was in school none of them helped me so why should I cared so much about their opinions, the only thing I care about is not to be addicted.
That's true. It's better to ignore these people who are not really concern and only judging you based on what they see. I already stop minding what others has to say as long as I know to myself that i'm not doing anything wrong. Many people are seeing gambling as bad because of the possibility to ruin one's life. The reason why gamblers are judged due to it. However, we know it depends on the gambler itself on how he/she will handle gambling.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you disguise on your real gambling lifestyle just to help a friend/relative? on: May 08, 2024, 10:47:54 AM
Does any of you guys have any negative side of gambling habit in you which literally you advices anyone not to exhibit it?
Or can you afford to hide your real disreputable gambling life just to help an astray gambling friend or relative?
I learned from my past experiences (as a gambler without control, spending all my salary in gambling) I was so hooked to the point I forgot my responsibilities. That experience is an eye opener for me to not repeat the same mistakes again. It became my example to people I know (that are also into gambling) to always have discipline.

Because it's hard to overcome the addiction if you are already there. If keeping my real status as a gambler can help someone then why not? But in my case there's nothing to hide since i'm already done as a gambler without control.
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Max Win is the worst thing that could happen to you. on: May 07, 2024, 01:44:29 PM
If you could do KYC process before making a deposit, would you do it?
Well, I'm just an average gambler, spending a small amount for gambling. That being said, KYC is not a priority because i'm not even certain if i'm going to win a decent amount when I play on the specific casino. IMO, as long as you're playing on a reputable site, then it's not an issue if you're not a verified player yet.

Just make sure that you can provide the needed documents to confirm your identity to be able to withdraw your winnings (just incase) and you didn't cheat, then there's nothing to worry. But again, this is only applicable for reputable casino since they will not do a shady tactic just to hinder you to get your money.
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does the game of luck in gambling really works? on: May 07, 2024, 08:01:25 AM
-snip-
There are those who don't believe on superstitions and when there is a happening, they will only think that is due to their actions. They say that positivity attracts luck. The explanation would be is because when you are positive, you are also confident about your actions i.e. you did a proper research about the team or player that you will bet in, if we are talking about gambling.

I am one of the many people who believe that when you think positively and are surrounded by people with a positive aura, the result is that your luck level will be better. I don't know if this is superstition or what, but that's what I feel, when I play when I'm happy, whether because I get a bonus from work or my friends are around me, I often win. I don't know whether it's just a coincidence or not, but from this I'm sure that luck can happen because of the positive aura from ourselves and the people around us.
A positive aura when you decided to play doesn't necessarily mean the outcome would be in favor to us. However, we know it's better to gamble when you're in a good mood since you are calm and not pressured to win.

Luck is unexplainable since we can't predict if we're going to win or lose when we already play the specific game. It's not related to a positive aura or anything because it works if you are destined to have such fate.
70  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 06, 2024, 08:14:24 PM
Gambling is becoming a popular thing in my locality almost everyone gamble and even colleagues gamble and engage in gambling related discussions at work,  so gambling is legal and very popular so there is no Shame in using part of a salary to gamble with that is why I am asking the question of what the right percentage from my salary that I should use to gamble?
In my case I set aside 5% of my salary for leisure, it's an amount that I can live without. Thus, even I lose in gambling it won't affect me to the point I will chase it back. So for me, it depends on how much is your salary and of course the amount that you're willing to lose. Because if you gamble your money, don't expect that you can double it. Just enjoy the game to entertain yourself.

Anyway, regardless of the percentage, it's a must to prioritize first your responsibilities before setting aside a money meant for leisure.
71  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double your money and quite on: May 06, 2024, 12:00:44 PM
Once you win already make a take profit and do not use those all wins again to make another set of games. Again you win and sometimes because of greediness, people make a wrong decision to get more or earn back their losses.
That's how it should be. However, it's not easy for a type of gambler who's easily be tempted to try once more hoping the outcome would be the same again. It's a human nature to be greedy sometimes especially if your goal us to gain huge.

But in gambling not everyone are able to profit since majority of gamblers are just losing their money than gaining. That's why if you're lucky to win a decent amount, just quit enjoy your earnings.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you do if you find yourself in a similar situation like this? on: May 04, 2024, 10:31:38 PM
And let's say he somehow manages to replace the money, either by means of borrowing or working menial jobs to raise the money, will his parents ever trust him again to save large sum of money with him?
He did a stupid mistake so probably his parents won't trust him again. But of course it can still change once he proved that he is not into gambling anymore and responsible enough by earning money on his own.

Assuming you find yourself in a similar situation as this, what will you do? How will you handle the situation to make your parents trust you again?
I will repay the money by working hard. It's a process to get their trust again thus it will take time. I will stand on my own, not relying on them and prove that I am worthy to be trusted again especially i'm their child.
73  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cash out or let it ride? on: May 03, 2024, 01:26:09 PM
thanks for all the responses everyone, I did end up cashing out, when Lillard was confirmed to be playing the cashout went up a good bit so I couldn't help it

turns out I made the right decision! next stop, Cancun!
Good for you. Because regardless of the result, you still have a good sum of money so there's no regret. Sometimes it's better to choose the safe side rather than to take risk then will end up having regrets because your expectation didn't happened.

If i'm in such situation no doubt I will choose the same way too. Because even there's only one left game, the result is still uncertain therefore cashing out is the best decision.
74  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: May 02, 2024, 10:25:31 PM
Gambling is not supposed to be everyday, the moment it has become an everyday something,it has become Addiction, and we all know how addiction is bad.
It depends. I know someone who gamble everyday but he is not addicted, it's just his pastime during break at work. He is spending small amount only and I can see that he is a gambler with discipline. It became part of his everyday routine but not necessarily mean a person is already addicted because as I have said it depends.

If you're playing to entertain yourself that is fine. However, if gambling became your source to earn money that's why you gamble everyday hoping to profit then that's not really right.
75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You Submit KYC Before You Win Big on: May 02, 2024, 08:31:09 AM
I know casinos do this. I have experienced it too. It is also in their T&C. My question for casino lovers is that instead of waiting until we win big and are asked to submit KYC documents, will you do it before the casino management or administrator request of it? Is there anyone who has gone ahead to fill out and submit their KYC on their account or by asking their customer support for it way before they even start make a request.
As long as you're playing in a reputable casino then of course it's on your discretion. Well, nowadays it's already common for casino to ask their players to verify themselves, many gamblers are also prefer this one to avoid problems if ever they win big. On the other side casino can make excuses even you're a verified player but I think it only happens when the site is shady. That's why before anything else, you need to be careful on choosing a casino to play in, since scam sites are also existing.
76  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your favorite to lose slot game on: May 01, 2024, 08:20:53 AM
This time let’s discuss about your favorite to play slot games that gives you losses often times but you keep coming back for more because you are expecting to win big someday after feeding the slot too many bets.
Rise of Olympus for me. This is where I experienced to win a decent amount that's why I keep coming back everytime i'm in the mood to play slots. Unfortunately, I didn't had the chance to win again, only losses. But despite that, this game is my first choice when it comes to slot, though i'm hooked into live table games more. Well, my advice is, if you have no decent capital then don't play slots because it can drain your funds fast if you're not lucky.
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causes loss on: May 01, 2024, 06:40:51 AM
Very good advice, as gamblers we must apply smart gaming in every gambling session that we will play. With this smart gaming we will get extraordinary pleasure in gambling, that is, if we win, we will immediately take advantage of the winnings and then stop gambling and If we lose, we have a very intelligent mind and understanding so that this will not be a reference for us to bet again, but we still stop and stabilize our state of mind so that it becomes clear again.
If we as gamblers don't have smart gaming to balance our practice and behavior in gambling then we will definitely often experience bad things because of the mistakes we often make when playing.
Gamblers really need to admit the truth, and that is that for most of us it is not possible to beat the casinos and make any profits, once you admit that then you need to be honest to yourself and think why you are gambling? If you were only thinking about the profits you may get, then that is the perfect time to quit and find something else to do with your time and your money, but if you really enjoy to gamble, from now on you will enjoy it even more, as you will not be pressured to obtain profits as you were before.
A desire of getting profit from gambling is often the reason why people are resorting to this activity. Although it's really the time to quit if you have this goal in mind, many gamblers are not able to do so since they're confident to win believing it's easy. The longer you play, the more losses you'll going to experience, that's a fact because of the house edge. Therefore, before ending up as an addicted gambler, try to refrain from playing because we're the only one who can help ourselves.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When is best for a player to draw the line? on: April 30, 2024, 08:50:11 AM
I stop when I lose, not because I am traumatize with the experience but I don't have money to continue playing. Everytime I gamble, I have a set budget on how much to spend and that's from my allocated money for leisure during payday. It's not a huge amount, just right to entertain myself.

Anyway, when a gambler wins that doesn't make them to completely stop. Instead, it only became a reason for them to continue playing since they're confident the same luck will hit again, not knowing the opposite is possible to happen. On the other side, for a gamblers who can't control themselves, a losing experience can only trigger them to chase their losses hoping to recover it. Thus, it depends on what type of gambler you are.
79  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 30, 2024, 02:29:04 AM
When a new gambler starts gambling, the positive aspects of gambling are more acceptable to him than the negative aspects of gambling and he only thinks about the positive aspects of gambling. Thinking about the positive aspects of gambling he plans to gamble but when he actually gambles his results are not favorable and then he realizes that gambling is not as simple as he thought.
Indeed. The positive sides of gambling outweigh the negative side of it for beginners. It's because of their thought that it is not hard to win.

Probably many newbies decided to try out gambling because of the videos of streamers or promoters in social media flexing their huge win. Letting them know the risk and possible consequences are sometimes not sufficient unless they already tried to gamble and experience the real deal in gambling.
80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In Your Country Who Gamble More? Young Ones or Elderly Ones on: April 29, 2024, 11:36:39 PM
Do you see such elderly people in your country?
Elderly gamblers here are betting in cockfighting and lottery. Physical casinos are usually for gamblers who have decent capital and obviously it's not ideal for people who are just earning a minimum wage. That being said, based on my observation, there are many younger gamblers now playing due to the popularity of online casinos wherein anyone can access (even minors) because they're less strict. Easy access and privacy are what makes these younger ones to play online.
