661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When do you think Bitcoin ETF will be approved? on: December 21, 2023, 05:23:40 AM
In the remaining ten days? I don't think so. Besides, I don't give a damn. It is clear to me that they will start to be approved sometime next year, which coupled with halving will push the price up but neither changes my plan, which is slow and gradual accumulation until the price breaks highs.
662  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should Ratimov aka Symmetrick be in DT1? on: December 20, 2023, 02:39:43 PM
I considered it, but I also try to be conservative with negative feedback.

Really? I would never have imagined it.  Tongue

 Grin

For now, I think 2 DT-negatives are already a strong warning for anyone not to deal with the account.

Where does it say that if you think a deal with a user is high risk but he already has two feedbacks he doesn't need any more? I just read:

Quote
Neutral - Other comments.
Quote
Negative - You think that trading with this person is high-risk. You might also be able to add a flag.

For anyone who left Ratimov positive feedback in the past: Let me put it this way: would you trust Ratimov again now? I think "trading with this person is high-risk" applies at the moment, and for that, changing historic positive feedback can help protect others.

I completely disagree with this. Feedback have a date and for me if someone had a successful trade with Ratimov in the past he should not delete what he wrote, simply if he thinks he is high risk now he should add negative feedback as of today.

You are asking others to do what you do not want to do: to enhance the danger of trading risk. You prefer it to be enhanced by deleting old positive feedback instead of adding current negative feedback.

I guess we agree to disagree on this.
663  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should Ratimov aka Symmetrick be in DT1? on: December 20, 2023, 10:48:19 AM
If trading with Ratimov Symmetrick is high risk then shouldn't this feedback be a negative one though?

Of course. And LoyceV is well aware of it.
664  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk mixer ban, Altcointalk is active in that scope. on: December 20, 2023, 04:20:11 AM
Well now if all types of signatures are stopped from this forum then there will be no people to post here. I'm not saying that absolutely no one will post, there will be many who don't have any kind of signature. Am I right or wrong about this?

Traffic will surely go down but I don't think it won't be as bad since bitcointalk has built its userbase over the years + it ranks well in search results.

The user base has been built on the strong foundation that in this forum you can get paid very well for writing. There are people living off this forum in third world countries. And for people from developed countries it is a good extra income. In the few forums I know where you can earn a few bucks, the pay is much lower than in this one. If signatures are totally banned from this one and go elsewhere, most of the userbase will leave. This has been talked about ad nauseam on the forum and I think the general consensus is what I am saying.
665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All thanks to my family they contributed and bought bitcoin for me on: December 20, 2023, 04:05:45 AM
I will strike a discordant note here. 4 pages of congratulations because his mother gives him $90 in local currency? If you are young what you have to do is to train yourself to be able to get good incomes in the future and with the cash flow that you get to consider an investment plan among which is to buy Bitcoin. But if you are going to buy Bitcoin I hope it is for something more than just waiting for the price to go up.

Congrats! Wondering if you've already bought it OP and what plans you have to safe keep it. You should probably set a place to store your funds, preferably something you know is safe (and not in exchanges) especially since I think you're considering holding it for at least half a year possibly waiting for some effects from the halving.

And what do you expect, for him to buy a HW that is going to cost him about the same as that $90?
666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which type of gambling have more gambling addicts ? on: December 20, 2023, 03:57:22 AM
Reading about gambling addiction I don't think it's a new topic, but fitting to be in here, I just want to ask: between casino gambling, in-house gambling, and one-on-one gambling with physical players available on the table, which among these is more likely to turn someone into a gambling addict if the person doesn't have self-control in all his gambling activities?

I don't find one over the other because I see people addicted to casino games as well as poker where they bet against other player,s not against the house, and sports betting is no exception to it, and the classic example is horse race betting which is in practice for very long and I remember rich guys in the 90's went broke because they were obsessed with horse race betting.

Not really. The most addictive games are the ones that can be played faster, so online games are more addictive than face-to-face games (online roulette over physical roulette, online poker over face-to-face poker, etc.).

In the 90's people went broke betting on horse races because they didn't have internet on their cell phones. Today they can bet 24/7/365 on a lot of varieties very quickly.

In my opinion what takes the cake would be slots.
667  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk mixer ban, Altcointalk is active in that scope. on: December 20, 2023, 03:48:17 AM
Well, the thing about this is one thing that had been talked about in the past about the assumption of a global ban on signatures: that the traffic would go elsewhere. In this case, it happens partially, if the mixer campaigns go to shitcointalks.com part of the traffic will go from here to there, but I think not much, because here the remaining campaigns will still pay more. Although it is a warning of what could happen in the future in the face of more restrictions: that more traffic will continue to be lost in favor of other sites.
668  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc dump to 39600 on: December 19, 2023, 04:21:19 AM
are you affected mate? if not then let it go because just after you posted this the price of Bitcoin grows back to 43 k and yes still going up now so you dont have to bother yourself spreading this FUD and yes it did not cover your post that bitcoin will hit that target of 39,600 as it is bullying again now.
anyway thanks for the sight but you failed .

It looks like the OP doesn't have much money, and he better not invest the little he has because if he cares about a small dip in a clear uptrend he is a clear candidate to buy at highs for FOMO and sell at the slightest dip for FUD. You have to understand something called volatility, which in assets such as Bitcoin is higher than in other more traditional ones, and learn to recognize the trend within that volatility.
669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the transaction fee will high if I send small amount under $50 on: December 19, 2023, 04:14:06 AM
The best explanation has been given by hd49728 but I don't know if it is too technical for the little knowledge the OP has. Trying to simplify it, I would say that the fee does not depend on the quantity. Right now you need approximately a minimum of $10 fee to send a transaction that is likely to be confirmed, whether it is $50 or $50,000. The inputs are more important, i.e. it is not the same if you have received $50 (or $50,000) in a single transaction than if you have received 5 transactions of $10, which will increase the cost. The type of address you are using also affects.
670  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you still appreciates the price of Bitcoin if it hasn't be your history price on: December 19, 2023, 04:07:35 AM
The OP doesn't express himself very well but I'll answer what he seems to want to ask, which is something along the lines of if you bought at a higher price than this, you appreciate the rise in Bitcoin.

I believe you do because otherwise you would have sold. Normally those who first bought at $60K or higher all the way down to $17K most sold out of FUD and panic. If anyone has held on all this time what they are going to see now is that we are on the doorstep of the best.
671  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do NOT overpay your transaction fees. on: December 19, 2023, 04:00:32 AM
If the person sending a transaction does not understand the basic operation of how the blockchain works, in that a transaction to be confirmed needs to be included in a block, that blocks are mined in 10 minutes on average, but that being precisely an average can take much longer, well I think the issue is not so much to tell him not to overpay as to tell him that he has to understand how the blockchain works.

I agree, but this transaction seems more like a problem with the wallet’s programming than panic.

How are they programmed? With scripts? That would be another possible explanation.
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing bitcoin to the orphans on my birthday on: December 19, 2023, 03:50:32 AM
I join my colleagues in congratulating you. It is another example of the many we see in the Nigerian community of this forum to popularize the Bitcoin there, apart in this case with a solidarity cause, which is even more praiseworthy. The fact that the gifts and food were bought with Bitcoin I think will make them curious.
673  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sell yourserlf to potential advertisers | sales pitches included on: December 18, 2023, 05:09:39 PM
Moreover, to actually show my intentions, I also made a proposal that will allow you to get rid of the trolls who publish delusional assumptions about your misappropriation of Sinbad campaign funds.

Here is a solution that will keep Royce and the Sinbad campaigners safe.

- Royce will send me the amount needed to cover the debt to the Sinbad participants.
- I, in turn, will keep these coins and process the payment from my own funds (minus 5%).

I think the mods should now close this thread, since I believe the issue mentioned in the OP will be resolved soon.

I had previously taken this message from the other thread as sarcastic or something, but I see that you mean it, and I don't quite see the point of it, because on the one hand no one in the campaign has complained about it, and on the other hand, if I had the funds I would be very careful to move them even if it was to make a single transaction for you. I would have probably looked for legal advice, but it wouldn't have taken me long to find it, I think two weeks maximum, but maybe Royse777 is not in the same situation and it will take him longer to find it.

On the other hand, if the one who is questioning my having the funds is someone you yourself qualify as " trolls who publish delusional assumptions" I wouldn't worry in the slightest, but you have forgotten Gazeta, who I'm sure you don't qualify as a troll.

Btw, I understand what you are getting at and why you published my PMs, but you will not be able to mislead the forum users because, unlike you, I did not send letters of proposals to any project if any of them had an active signature campaign.

In addition, considering that these PMs are “very old”, and that I am aware of who I sent such PMs to, I am convinced that you have access not only to your account, but also to the accounts of your clients. Therefore, with this gesture you only showed that any private correspondence with you or with your clients cannot be confidential.

With this I agree and what is emphasized in bold seems to me to be key.
674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins and other cryptos will never become mainstream before... on: December 18, 2023, 04:12:00 PM
Bitcoin has triumphed in the last few years precisely because of the essential properties it has with respect to medium or high amounts, and it doesn't matter if it becomes mainstream because the people who can store and send those amounts are reduced. It is not even remotely the same people who can buy bottles of water.

Using the same criteria for Bitcoin as for altcoins makes no sense, when it is essentially different.
675  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777 will not pay anyone for the last week /Sinbad campaign/ on: December 18, 2023, 01:26:37 PM
I find the subtle tone this topic has taken, both on one side and the other, quite amusing and entertaining. We'll see how it turns out, but it's certainly different from what we usually see in this section. Waiting to see what the next subtle move looks like, or if it ends with such subtlety.

(Edited to say that it seems it wasn't subtle)
676  Other / Meta / Re: An empty OP of a pinned thread in Archival? on: December 18, 2023, 05:36:47 AM
Just by reading the title I knew it was going to be about Ratimov, who by the way has not logged in since a week ago and it seems that he has to pay back some money he received in advance in the last campaign he participated in, and for which he should still be writing.

Yes, OP, read about everything Ratimov has done, of which thread deletion is only a part, and you will be surprised, but you will understand better why is that thread like that in archival.

677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ordinal blockchain irking me, causing almost $40 median fee now... on: December 17, 2023, 04:33:20 AM
What a crazy thing out there. Luckily I haven't had small inputs for a while thanks to having consolidated with the minimum fee when I could and thanks also to having read LoyceV's useful thread about it. The best thing to do now is to wait. Paying $15 per transaction is not going to last forever.
678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I finally sold my computer and bought bitcoin. I don't regret . on: December 17, 2023, 04:27:26 AM
Assuming it is true what you say, do you have another computer, or laptop or tablet? Because selling the computer and being left with nothing like it doesn't sound like a good idea. It is also not the same if you use it only to play games than to do work. Can you expand a bit on your situation?
679  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777 will not pay anyone for the last week /Sinbad campaign/ on: December 17, 2023, 04:23:36 AM
In case anyone missed it, or doesn't usually visit that section, Royse777 posted a thread on B&H that contains useful tips on how to make money on the forum but contains a subtle part that I think has quite a bit to do with this:

Very soon everyone will have some light about it. I promise but not in this topic.

The thread is:

How to sell yourserlf to potential advertisers | sales pitches included

To my mind the subtle part about icopress and GazetaBitcoin should be discussed here or in some other thread in the Reputation section, not in the B&H one.
680  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sell yourserlf to potential advertisers | sales pitches included on: December 17, 2023, 04:18:30 AM
Well after JJG and then Gazeta with his thread on Ratimov, this post is among the longest I've read on Bitcointalk.

I mean, is this topic a subtle way to bring attention on icopress and GazetaBitcoin publishing some of their PMs?

Yes, I don't quite understand why it's here. I mean, it can be in this section because it actually contains useful tips but the subtle part about icopress and GazetaBitcoin I don't quite understand why it's here.

It would make sense that for the discussion with them at least that part would be in the Reputation section.
