661  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Unofficial Spondoolies SP20 thread on: February 27, 2016, 06:32:52 AM
Im having a problem with my SP20 that I just bought off of ebay.

I have tried getting my SP20 to start and it wont. When I turn on the power supply the fan will come on run for about 5 seconds, then shut off and the yellow light will come on. Then the yellow light goes off and the fan comes on again for about 10-20 seconds then the fan shuts off again. The yellow light then begins blinking 6 times every few seconds. The ethernet lights are both going but it is not showing up on my router and going to myminer.io shows me nothing.

I have tried to sd boot it = nothing
sd reset = resets but then when I take out the sd card and restart it.....nothing
......I even tried the blow dryer trick......nothing

The old owner has been a huge help trying to get it going but so far nothing

Any help would be majorly appreciated!

Try to plug a cable into the management port.

This is quite an impressive drop but we are only talking for a few days, let's hope it we keep it low for at least one diff ! Tongue

Hey guys, i'm putting my kano.is password in the cgminer configuration and is working good, why i should put the "x" instead of my real password? It's more risky?

don't use your account's password for a worker ... it doesn't required one. Just put "x" like the example.

From the first page information

Quote
Mining configuration:
Go to https://www.kano.is and register a username to mine with, by clicking on the Register/Reset button,
or mine directly to the pool without registering, using a bitcoin payment address as your username.
No password is required.

your password is only needed to access your web page account and should be not use for anything else.

670  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Miner X5 on BitFury 16nm chips on: February 19, 2016, 06:53:17 AM
Funny.

You guys all know that Bitmain will release something that destroys Bitfurys 16nm tech right?

They always have before and im sure it will be a mic drop again soon.

No one knows on them as they are not very public about things they work on, which makes sense as if they say we will have a new chip X date... sales drop on current gen.

We do know they listed another  batch of S7's so at least into march that is what they are making.  It's hard to say if/when they will have something new.  There has been no leaks or info to show they have a chip or will soon.

i agree. while i have been wondering what bitmain is working on i also remember, i think correctly, that we had with the s7---
----leaked rumors up to 7 months before hardwear in hands (s5+ and s7 talk)
----leaked tech info around 5 months ahead

so for no leaks (that i have seen) about new gen bitmain hardwear one has to wonder  ---
will they just DROP something?
will they use cheap power they have and mass setups to fight their battle with s7's?  is that even possible in this exahash stage?
oooo , excitting times
could get ugly or wonderful real quick.

o , and im on board with others here before me saying
"i'll believe it when it ain't just a rendering and words"  (and have btc waiting)

-watching

An old article with Jihan Wu of Bitmain clearly state they are going with 16nm this year.  ==> http://bitcoinist.net/exclusive-interview-jihan-wu-bitmain-s7-block-size-debate/

Do you think you will be moving down die size in 2016 as production costs come down, and improved quality at this level happens?

"Yes, we will be moving down to a 16 nanometer die size in 2016. 16 nanometer technology has come a long way in the past year, with lower costs and better yields."

I will follow this thread with most interest !
672  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CKPool Monitor - hashrates, workers, rewards and get notifications for CKPool on: February 18, 2016, 02:54:09 PM
If I understand, you are no longer using AV6R1?

The worker graph does not really look at the worker names, it looks at their position in the results as stored in the database. So if AV6R1 was your last worker, then you stopped using that worker, your new worker would become your last worker. But the graph gets its worker name from the first record, so your old worker is on the first record it finds within the graphs timespan. Thereby displaying your new workers data with the old worker name, eventually the old worker will clear out.

It is something that I had planned on fixing, but had forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder, I will get on it very soon.

I used both of them but the stats has been interchange in the UI.

AV62 has been running for like 10 hours but it show days of stats ... AV6R1 show only the last 10 hours. It should be the other way around.

673  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CKPool Monitor - hashrates, workers, rewards and get notifications for CKPool on: February 18, 2016, 04:17:26 AM
I think I found an issue.

I created a new worker named => AV62 and I have an older worker named => AV6R1.

The stats are shown incorrectly in the full details worker graph page.

The stats for worker AV6R1 are shown for the worker AV62.

Thanks ;-)

any plan to make the 2fa work with google authenticator?

It works for me
675  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Feb 7 to Feb 19? picks are closed. on: February 16, 2016, 05:25:59 PM
This is quite funny how much we didn't see that drop coming at the end of this diff. I was sure we would see at least a constant hashrate with no drop at all or even some minor or major increase.

I speculated an avg of 1210 petahash for this Diff and I was the lower guess in the list. A big surprise for me.

Unless someone throw back all the gear that went offline, this will be a rollover !

My past experience makes me guess a push during the last 24 hours or at the start of the new diff. (But hey, this is pure speculation)

Let's enjoy this small breathing time... it's like a small victory in a +15 diff increase... /sarcrams  Wink

What's everyone planning on doing with their sticks that were dedicated to the solo club? Kinda curious. I'm going solo!

I think my 2 sticks will keep hashing for Phil, until they hit a block Cheesy

679  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Feb 7 to Feb 19? picks are not open.. on: February 11, 2016, 06:08:41 PM

So since I made a moron mistake
I will toss in an extra something for the prize.
It will end at 816 so the end time will be the same.

We have 23 blocks to go.

Phil, don't be rude with yourself. There is no big deal about it.

We all do mistake ;-)
680  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jan 11 to Feb 11 Sidehack Compac Stick pool new 30 day run. Club to close Feb 12 on: February 11, 2016, 04:05:24 PM
what are we looking for? Does best share have to equal the difficulty number

no higher not equal   so 144,116,447,847  need to be beat by

144,116,447,848 or more. I rounded to the hearest whole numbers.

So a stick share of 2,152,593,335 while nice is not close.

I think we did do a 19,000,000,000 a while back.

when we started diff was only 60 it is now 144 this is killing our chances.

In the beginning I ran an extra 2th for the first month.

One month I ran an extra s-7.

In the best months will pulled enough shares to have as high as a 6% chance of a block.

Yeah our best share was 18B

Unless my 1 Lazy ASIC and hot blade and 1 1/2 broken blade SP20 can crack one before tonight. (850GH)

I gave him much love yesterday to resurrect it Tongue

That would be freaking awesome !

EDIT: My bestshare is 3M at the moment  Cry
