701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 03, 2015, 02:26:03 PM
Today anybody betting on BPL i have bet on 140 runs or more @1.92 i hope Chittagong Vikings will get total runs in first inning and this will be fighting score to defend this match.

Chittagong made only 136/5 in 20 overs, so sad to say but you have lost your bet. I bet daily on these matches and they're not only fun but to me they seem a little easy to predict. I have only played with a very small amount till now but I think I got the hang of it now to start betting more.

What say about Ind-Sa Test Match, any predictions as to where it is going, I think Indians are in a good position now and are looking quite favorites to win this one also?
702  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is betcoin.tm legit? on: December 03, 2015, 02:21:51 PM
I'm 11% on the bonus, and if I get to 100% I can claim/withdraw 15.6 btc.

Is this site legit? Not sure if I should be wasting any more of my time.

If you google their name you'll find a few thread in the scam accusation section which should be enough to warn you, apart from that as long as you don't deposit, the only thing they can take from you is your time. And since it seems you're playing with some sort of free bonus, I'd say just keep on playing when you can i.e and when/if you complete the bonus terms you'll know if they're legit or not.
703  Economy / Speculation / Re: 232 days before bitcoin block reward halving on: December 03, 2015, 01:57:24 PM
I think it's just another signpost, an indicator that bitcoin is going strong and it has come a long way and has maintained it's popularity if not gained more. What I think will happen is the price might go slightly up as the demand remains the same and supply cuts in half but one thing that worries me is that mining will become more expensive since each block will contain half the quantity of what they had before and it might make mining more centralized from what it already is.

706  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anybody uses gpg4usb? on: December 02, 2015, 01:33:05 PM
It looks like a bug in the gpg4usb software. Which version of gpg4usb are you using to verify the message?

Yeah, a bug it is I think, I am using the version gpg4usb-0.3.3-1 which is the current one available at their website. And I tried to verify the message at Linux and Windows and it's same at both the places.
707  Other / Off-topic / Anybody uses gpg4usb? on: December 02, 2015, 12:53:40 PM
Do you guys get a blank green confirmation message when you try to verify a message from a key which is imported from keybase.io or is it just me?

Meaning it shows that the message was signed by someone on the list but doesn't show the name and/or other details etc.

708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the purpose of altcoins and why there is so many of them? on: December 01, 2015, 01:02:57 PM
For dreamers and the unscrupulous to burn and make money? It's a natural human trait to try and best something disruptive. I wonder how many intranets there were before the internet won out.

Couldn't have said it better  Cheesy. People who couldn't catch the Bitcoin train, buy it in hopes that maybe one day these altcoins will bring the same result but so far nothing has came even close to that.

Altcoins are a great testbed for cryptocurrency technology to try out new things in order for crypto to evolve.

They are trying out hundreds of ways to do things and finding out good ways to do things and ways to definately not do things..

I would much rather them be experimenting on shitcoins rather than experimenting on Bitcoin itself..

Also some alts are good companions to BTC IMO for there strengths of faster block times and some have increased anonymity protections that some may see very useful.

I guess this is the reason behind some of the coins to test out new technology but how to know which ones are shitcoins and which are not?
709  Economy / Services / Re: [FINAL DAY] [Spells of Genesis] Signature Design Competition- 0.25BTC Prize! on: November 30, 2015, 02:31:17 PM

I speak on for myself, I do not design with 1pt because it takes too much time effort to colour code each "bit" leaving too little time to design the rest of the signatures.

Hello,
So it's a good thing that you don't waste your time on 1pt size characters for signatures:

Example : previous works made by Coinnosaurus:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=360915 <- His signature was "made" by Coinnosaurus.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173574.msg12401386#msg12401386

Please check his work under different browsers like Opera, Mozilla, Chrome.

Now, do you all understand why we SHOULD NOT use 1pt characters for BBCode Signatures around the Bitcoin Talk Forum?

I already made such things but this don't looks good under the MOST of web browsers.

For example I used 1pt size characters for this design: (armchair icon)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1001536.msg10939294#msg10939294
And I even mentioned about the problem and showed screenshots. Then I was checking under Opera and Chrome.

Best regards.

I had no idea what you were talking about, when you first mentioned about not using the 1pt character in the bbcodes but I checked your example of "Nexus" sig above and I see now what you're talking about.

Firefox:-

Chrome:-

It is very weird, don't know what exactly causes this but FF ate the Niro part for some reason. Don't use opera, so don't know how it looks there.

But that being said, it does not mean that he designed this one using 1pt character also, if his sig looks good in ff and chrome, which are the most used browsers then it should be considered a valid entry.
710  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Transaction not found on BC Blockexplorer on: November 30, 2015, 11:36:33 AM
Electrum 2.0.4

Tried to send a couple times but it gave me some "network doesn't support transactions" error. So I switched the network to some random one (h.1209k.com)
Now it went thru and says "pending" . . . but when I check blockchain "Transaction not found"  is this common? Whats up? It's been like 10 hours no change
Could you provide the Tx ID from the electrum.

I think it's because you're using an older version of Electrum. You need to update to the latest version. Download the latest version and restore your wallet in it, it will show the right balance of your address and then you can re-send the transaction, make sure to add extra fee because there is a Dos attack going on.

711  Economy / Services / Re: [FINAL DAY] [Spells of Genesis] Signature Design Competition- 0.25BTC Prize! on: November 30, 2015, 11:25:05 AM
Great designs by all, my favorites among all the submissions are from roslinpl, medUSA and the new talent in town Coinnosaurus. Let's see who the winner is, it's going to be so tough to choose the winner among the best. GL to all.

I think it's best if a winner is picked today and then the campaign can be started by tomorrow, the first day of the month.
712  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [Buying] Phone verified Twitter accounts on: November 29, 2015, 01:47:07 PM
I can create any number of accounts you want but you have to prove that you can pay for them as your account is new brand

You're both brand new and therefore I suggest you use an escrow to trade safely.

And OP a word of caution, any phone verified twitter account can be claimed back by the owner who controls that number, I have seen it happen before right here on this forum and even escrow can't cover for that, so be careful.
713  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How many people were scammed on Bitcoin Black Friday? on: November 29, 2015, 01:21:30 PM
I keep repeating, this anonymity s the single worst trait BTC has to offer. I really do not know why Satoshi implemented this. It hurts people and crypto much more then it brings any good.

If people would do their own due diligence, this wouldn't be an issue. If some stranger on the street came up to you in a cloak and said "If you give me $300, I'll give you $600 in stuff. Just let me have a few days and I'll get back to you" would you do it? If not, you shouldn't do it online, either.

You're right but in the end whenever you spend BTC, you will have to trust someone and most of the time it will be a stranger online, either that be a service provider, escrow, product website or else how will you spend your btc?

Maybe as some of the exchanges/service providers are asking for KYC from the customers, the customers should ask for more legal information about them and get it verified somehow before using their services and so if they decide to fraud, you can atleast file a legal complaint about them. And maybe that'll stop some of these scams if not all. Without some kind of regulation, this is just getting too easy for these fuckers.
714  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Stuck on Syncing ForEver (Mac OS) on: November 28, 2015, 11:41:32 AM
Untick the "Auto-connect" and choose a server manually and click 'ok' and then restart it, that's what I do when it I don't see the green light, if it still doesn't works then something is wrong with your network, try stopping the downloads or if you have other apps running which uses the internet.
715  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How many people were scammed on Bitcoin Black Friday? on: November 28, 2015, 11:34:38 AM
Sorry for your loss buddy. I wasn't scammed and no body I know got scammed but I did saw the warning above on the forum and saw the thread and some people did fell into the trap because like you they were too eager to grab the best deals. Feel bad for them as it was their hard earned/saved funds Sad I guess one has to be more careful during special occasions like this and next would be Xmas.

I really hope you catch them and put them behind bars and set an example so others think twice before scamming.
716  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do traders make money while trading bitcoin in localbitcoin.com ? on: November 27, 2015, 03:20:24 PM
If you take a closer look at their prices, they are offering to buy lower than the market price and are selling over/same the market price and this is where they make money and they offer various payment methods to buy/sell and the prices for each of them is different but it's still risky, if the price drops, you're going to have to take a loss or hold the sales until it goes up.
717  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LOCALBITCOIN CLOSED ACCOUNT AND WILL NOT ANSWER , REFUSE TO LET ME WITHDRAW MY C on: November 27, 2015, 03:11:50 PM
I can't read a thing with you just yelling with all caps.

Anyways, I don't think I or any other forum member can do anything in this regard, if you believe you were scammed, you're welcome to open a scam accusation to warn others. And maybe you'll get a response from the LBC representatives.
718  Economy / Gambling / Re: You ask how to win - did you know how to push your luck ? on: November 26, 2015, 01:33:59 PM
I know how to push my luck, I pushed it so hard the other day that it fell off the cliff and died.

But seriously, your strategy or fluke may have worked one time but I doubt it will again like just the other day I picked a bad player in a tennis match, so bad that I don't even remember his name and the odds for him were 10.5 and he won and I have tried it many times after that but that didn't happen again.
719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why i Can't claim "clam coin" with this address? on: November 26, 2015, 01:18:33 PM
Hi to all,
I want get some clam coin from my old wallets...

I try this one..
https://blockchain.info/it/address/1LWns9BnuxZS99xsA1NoUxGQ2u4NR6RHxo
But clam checker says that there are not clam coin in this wallet.
I can't understand why I can't claim, because it seems there is a not 0 balance on May 12th 2014 ...
And I haven't claim the coin before...

Some one could help me or explain this process?
Thank you

(edit: or 18RHsyuWDjVQf5CcMMXiHGRt414dYK9ng  I have to use this coin for claim?
I don't find this in my wallet.... Sad )

If it says there are no clams in that address then it means just that.  Clams were initially distributed to 3,208,032 BTC, LTC and DOGE addresses based on the 12 May 2014 snapshot of these blockchains. Each of these address received 4.60545574 CLAMs. But only the addresses having any balance at that time got clams. So you address must have had no balance that day and which is why it doesn't have any Clams.
720  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinfloor Account not getting approved on: November 26, 2015, 01:12:43 PM
This is the first time I have heard of them and I don't have an account there and this seems like a problem only support can solve. But do give these thread a read before you conduct any business:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=537545.0

Don't know if they're legit or not but do proper research before depositing any money.
