721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Opinions] IF you could improve/add/remove 1 thing to bitcoin what would it be? on: August 21, 2014, 01:20:42 PM
I would probably change the fees so that even smaller amounts can be sent without large fees. If bitcoin gets more expensive, you could have to pay several dollars to send one dollar of bitcoin.

The fees are there to protect the notwork from spam rather than actually being a reward for miners.

The total fees fro one day are in the average of 10-20 btc so miners are more inclined to find blocks with fewer transactions rather than missing them.
And in this mix a few guys spending 100$ daily just to bloat the blockain and you're going to see why we don't have 1 cent fees right now.

Quicker confirmation times, anonymous storage via blockchain (large files)

Good luck downloading the blockchain after two blocks if i'm gonna store there just a few of my hd movies.

AFF is still sending checks?
They should start dealing with bitcoins.

723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - LAUNCHED! on: August 20, 2014, 10:33:32 AM

Let me make a short summary out of this.
1) We had faith in this coin as a moneymaker
2) We invested in this because this was a sure bet we either get satoshi rich or we get back the money
3) Somebody put some damn walls so we can sell and retrieve the investment
4) It seems we bet on the wrong horse now but we still want our money back

You were right , that is no FUD , it's a child crying after he lost his marbles.

Agreed. I see absolutely no reason to give a refund. No other crypto refunds and they have been KNOWN SCAMS. This coin is not a scam, the ICO was final. Deal with it and start spreading good vibes about SYS. Cause there ai'nt no other way you're getting back an ROI otherwise.

But moolah is escrow and said if the coin doesn't deliver & function well, they will refund investors, so your point are wrong. PPL trust Moolah and Mintpal, so they dare invest this coin

Deliver and function. There is no talk about the price in this.
Now . we have two possibilities right:

1) the coin is not delivering the promise , a refund should be issued and it has nothing to do with buy walls. And if it's shit buy walls won't help it.

2) the coin was delivered with the features then there would be no refund and the coin is on it's own

PS.
About the so much talked features.
In github I've seen a few pull requests from saffron coin. Quite interesting that both coins where launched on the same day and both have this decentralized market in the blockchain feature...

Somebody double checking this? I'm in no mood for detective work at this hour...

the coins launch time was delayed. then it was forkedtwice. the best hing was moolah should have allowed a refund when the coin did not work at the first time. after two forks. wallet still has to be restarted. and blockchain data deleted before it works again. seriously? should we just acceptthis wallet is functional? search buttons arent working on alias. sometimes marketplace disappears. fuck even the copy features arent working in the wallet. its a total disaster. but we are trusting devs to deliver what was pomised. now if they didnt moolah said they will allow more 48 hours to devs. are those 48 hours over now right?

i have invested in this coin. but truth is truth

+1. I agree with awais3344, even moolah said they would refund if the coin doesn't function well, how you guys(mothermole1, niothor) ignore the truths, and said refund is not needed?

You guys don't wanna the refund because you sold high? You know other investors' feelings? NO

Where did I say it's not needed?
I said that currently there are two possibilities. That after 48 or god knows how many hours the dev come with a solid coin or not.

But , again even if and even if not there is nothing in this about buy walls. And buy walls won't help this coin that was may point.

I'm more concerned with this:
https://github.com/syscoin/syscoin/graphs/contributors
Like a rush to fix it in the last days after nothing has been done for months.

725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - LAUNCHED! on: August 20, 2014, 09:42:50 AM
This is merely biggest disaster in crypto!

I've been following this coin for weeks (months, actually) and had faith in devs from the beginning.
But it seems that those people might be great coders with vision, however they totally don't understant how crypto markets work.

This is  D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R!

Why? Because hundreds of ICO investors are feeling fucked right now. Of course crypto is about risk but all successful IPO/ICO coins were using presale money to sustain the price. This way they were gaining HUGE ARMY OF LOYAL INVESTORS WHO WERE PROMOTING THE COIN FOR THEM. That is the basic of price management. Maybe some (most?) coins do not admit to supporting their own price but this is how it works in the first stage.

And here? Instead of hundreds of loyal investors to promote their coin, Syscoin developers gained hundreds of whiners and FUDDers. And this won't end in a week or two - this will continue for many months. I have to admit I didn't expect that.

Few months ago someone was posting here that he will wait and buy when we are in the 200 satoshi price range. People were laughing at him but it seems that he had a point after all. This is going down. I am holding my ICO but I already accepted that I might lose on that one.

Devs, I am not here to troll. I am here to help and keeping my mouth quite won't help. All cool innovations on blockchain are great, but first things first - it seems that you have bred not hundreds of loyal fans, but hundreds of desperate haters. And they will bring this coin down, no matter what you do. Exit buy wall is a must now. You will lose some of those presale BTC and you need to accept this. The longer you wait with announcing the wall and the longer you wait with building it after you get the ICO money, the more you will lose.

Sorry, but if you won't take care of army of haters issue RIGHT KNOW, someone will just take your ideas and execute them in better, smarter way.

So many people told you here that exit wall at 518 satoshi is only thing that could save this coin and yet you are doing nothing about it. You don't need actual BTC to do this, you just could promise that it will happen when you get your money and announce it.

Someone wrote here that "you could sell at 1000 satoshi". Insane! Most people were unable to do anything at that point with their coins. Also, we - the ICO buyers - were supposed to hold and help the coin grow this way. But since devs seem to - excuse my French - piss at us, this is no longer going to happen. People are just hoping to quit this coin and move somewhere where devs actually care about their investment.

Please, please, please - do not avoid this issue. Announce the buy wall immediately and build it as soon as you get your BTC. No excuses on that one! The buy wall should stand there and you could take BTC for development from it gradually.

Look at the LTC hogs going up like crazy in a down market. I swear, I think that there is leverage at play and they are going to get slaughtered on the next dip.

On the other hand, and I mention it here for this reason, it could be a sign that we are about to get a bounce on the markets. China's LTC market often times gets a jolt right before the BTC market moves.

Are you´re still trying to short something that already has been down ~90% from it´s last ATH.   Roll Eyes

its funny I read Newbie1022, then saw i could get out of LTC with minimal losses, i was going for it, LTCs on there way to btc-e now...

but then fonzie knocked some sense into me.

I am talking short-term (next few days), anyways, whereas you are probably playing at least a middle-term game. You're a smart cat and they are very cheap historically now.

Specifically, I wonder whether people tossed the leverage behind BTC on the rally or behind Alts on the rally because the Alts would have a higher bounce. I suspect the latter and I think it is why they are still high on the day... I think that's where the leverage game moved to.

not at 5am after watching bitcoin recover 5-6% only to get smashed again

at this point, i'm all feeling no brains....

Alts are rallying because traders are like " oh shit my BTC is losing value better dump it for my fav alt NOW "

Sincerely I don't think alt are recovering right now because bitcoin started taking a few steps back.
Most of the alts started growing yesterday as bitcoin tried to go above 500 again.

When BTC was falling like a stone most of the markets took even a harder hit so what we see now might be traces of the optimism from yesterday when people were expecting a recovery.
727  Economy / Speculation / Re: Date for 12.5 BTC per Block - autmn 2015 on: August 19, 2014, 03:13:17 PM
How can the mining farms survive the block's halving if the price won't increase?

Basicaly what the person above has answered but with an extra
There are always the tx fee which will make the miners keep their gear running even after the future block reward halving

Currently the tx fee is around 10-15 Btc  per day but if the numbers of transactions multiply by 30 with the price increase of 10x we will have the same reward as today from mining fees alone .

I think you've got to be pretty silly to get the forum ads mixed up with signatures, though I saw it happen the other day when someone made a stupid statement about them. I don't even really notice the forum banner ads to be honest as they're not that noticeable to me or maybe I've just got used to them.
Lols,

I've seen this mistake quite often:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=744180
Another noob with an AD BANNER fishing for views/clicks. Onto the ignore list you go.

We really need to ban the banner ads from this forum if we ever want to see these shitty drama posts stop.

People have the feeling this forum can run on solar panels alone.

Why some members have a biger signature? Do I need a higher status?

Check this thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0

Perhaps the allowed signature styling should change with activity score / membergroup. Like:
- Newbie: No styling (including links) allowed. Max 40 characters.
- Jr. Member: Links allowed. Max 100 characters.
- Member: Unlimited length.
- Full: Color allowed.
- Sr. Member: Size allowed
- Hero: Background color allowed

Then newbies will be less effective advertisers, which would hopefully significantly reduce the incentive for low-content posts. And when people become capable of effectively advertising through their signatures, they'll have invested a lot of time into their accounts, and they won't risk being banned by spamming.
729  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 19, 2014, 10:23:56 AM
Highly manipulated bullshit.

I hold my reserve btc and wait for my entry point but forcing people to buy and sell what a bs market :-)

Lots of people have been losing money all over this volatility

Who is pointing  gun at your head and is shouting sell???

The main problem of the people that have "lost" money over the last months is that they look at bitcoin like a stock market and are trying their so called trading skills here.

If you really believe in what bitcoin will become and what brings to the world you would stay calm and drink a beer while looking at the charts.
And if you treat it like an investment , then don't forget the number one rule : Don't invest more than you can afford to....

Medvedev says that he views positively the effect sanctions have on Russian economy:
http://top.rbc.ru/economics/18/08/2014/943536.shtml

I think the image at the bottom shows how good effects it has on the Russian economy.

I read in all the news that the government is trying to monitor prices in Moscow , Crimea and a few major cities.
Apart from the fact that this along with a so called "reinforcement" resembles a your know what measures , is there a way to find out what where the prices at the beginning of the year and how they are trending now ?
731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin tax in future on: August 19, 2014, 09:55:56 AM
Bitcoin is classified by the IRS as an ASSET in the USA and assets can be taxed if they are sold (stocks, property, etc)
But if you loose your password then there is no more asset Smiley

It's hard to believe BTC or another crypto currency will one day replace USD.

Wow, a post by an alleged scammer with a high thread count who obviously didn't even read the thread followed immediately by a post from a new user who is clearly peddling something and trying to increase the thread count.  More on Sick Sad World tomorrow...

Oh, and just for kicks:  I guess I'd better keep my cash, at least if I loose my wallet there will be more asset!   Roll Eyes

Let's be honest here..
Ignoring the guy that posted , ignoring his English skills this is one of the most important things with Bitcoin.

You have lost the wallet or your passkey that's it. You have to back it up a few times and then get some back-ups that you need to keep in some safe spots otherwise you've lost your bitcoin forever.

You know the story about the guy that throw away his hdd that made the news and that is no singular case , there are a few each month in the help section.

With the money in your bank at least all you need is your id which you can replace any time.
732  Other / Politics & Society / Re: We do not have a gun culture problem, we have a culture problem. on: August 18, 2014, 04:10:16 PM
I agree with this title.
Compare USA with Canada, for example.
In Canada there is no ''gun culture'' like in USA.
Result: Less violence and crime than in USA.
In USA people are ''brainwashed'' that they must have guns in order to protect themselves.
In reality is other way around, more violence, more crime and very unsafe living for average people.
Guns are not the part of solution but part of the problem.
So, something must be changed in USA before situation become worst.
USA need culture of ''peace'' not violence.

Way to miss the point of the OP as well as skipping over pretty much every post after. Confirmation bias much?

The USA has a way different way of handling their drug problem and decided to wage a war on it..  Do you think that has anything to do with the gun culture..?

OK this is my understanding about reasons why so many average Americans using guns as means for self-protection, not for hunting or sport. I shared this opinion based on my experience while living in USA but you may know better. Please share your opinion.

Out of pure curiosity for how long have you been living in the US?
Cause checking your posts you sure haven't been born there and you haven't spent too much time in the states either.

735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia and China vs Bitcoin on: August 18, 2014, 12:49:14 PM
They already did ban bitcoin.

So making it official should not have any impact on the price.

Russia recently softened its stance towards Bitcoin and they are thinking how to regulate it effectively. China didn't ban Bitcoin, they just prohibited its use to banks and exchanges can't deal with banks. Some workaround were found by Btc China that is accepting cash deposits through faucets if I'm not mistaken. Honk Kong right now seems to be the hub of innovation in China regarding cryptocurrencies and its probably from there that ideas for definitve regulations will come. I don't expect China to ban Bitcoin at all, they can easily become the leaders of mining chips production.

No they didn't.
If we read the latest news they made it even worse. This is from August 5th.

http://www.coindesk.com/russian-ministry-finance-drafts-bill-banning-bitcoin/

As for China... who cares for a country that had is currency pegged for decades. They of course don't like a currency they can't play with.

I can really see very few people wanting to utilize this kind of machine. There is something about intimacy with a human that is unique that you don't know exactly what they are going to do even if they know what it is that you like.

You criticize the product before being completed.
Reminds me of people who though flight was impossible or useless.

There are plenty of people going to cheap prostitutes  and about that kind intimacy , if that pleasures them , then the bots will match it up.

It will never happen, All I see are nerds who have difficulty getting women will be using this sexbots. I'm also guessing it is adjustable to extra small. Probably guys with micro penises would also like it.

Rule number one is never say never.
Numbers from Japan.
According to government figures released in 2010, there are 700,000 individuals living as hikikomori with an average age of 31
The terms is used for shut-ins.

700k  possible customers if enough for a industry to start and maybe boom with improvements added later on.

http://youtu.be/xu1Rp0L4rYU "Welcome to the N.H.K." is about Hikikomori. Just started watching it on netflix. Not bad.

I saw the series a few years ago , good start but not so much after a few episodes.
737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin tax in future on: August 18, 2014, 11:31:28 AM
Dumbass question Cheesy

What if in future, for example in year 2100, the bitcoin will be used by everyone.Working for bitcoins shopping for bitcoins, paying bills,etc.. So if an worker will work for 0.00100000 Satoshi/month, his employer will pay 0.00020000 Satoshi blockchain tax. This is 20% tranzaction fee. Is an huge tax and will ruin economy. And people with big tranzactions means very rich people will pay an infirm amount..  Can this be changed in bitcoin protocol if is needed?

I doubt it but anything is possible, with all the greed that is going around, everyone wants a piece of bitcoin.  I can see a third party software being able to track an employees address and they might by law have to use that address just like a SS number, then they can use the third party software to tax and track ones transaction, but ill be pissed if something like this ever happens.

There is no such thing as a stupid question by the way

The bitcoin tx fee was introduced to keep spam away.
it can easily be changed to 1 satoshi if needed.

Besides he refers to the tx fee not to government taxes so all that conspiracy mumbo-jumbo , please keep it to yourself.
738  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: August 18, 2014, 11:24:50 AM
Like the other fake story about the soldiers who requested to stay in Russia but all returned?

Do you have any proof to claim that all of them have returned? Out of the 438 soldiers who crossed in to Russia last week, only 180 have agreed to return to Kiev. Russian TV channels are still showing interviews with them, in the camp set for these people in the Rostov Oblast, Russia. Even the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence have said that only around 200 have returned from Russia.

And look what the rt.com news website is saying today:

15:10 GMT:
Seventeen Ukrainian soldiers who fled the fighting and crossed the Russian border unarmed into the southern Rostov region on Saturday returned to their country on Sunday morning, Itar-Tass reported. A Russian Ural armored military truck brought them to the border area of the Matveyev-Kurgan District, where a bus from Ukraine was waiting for them. "A bus took them into Ukrainian territory," said Nikolay Sinitsyn, a spokesman for the regional border department of Russia’s Federal Security Service.

Incidents with Ukrainian soldiers escaping the fierce fighting with self-defense militias in southeast Ukraine have taken place before. In one such incident, on August 4, 438 Ukrainian servicemen asked Russian border guards to allow them to cross the border into Russia. All of them were later returned to Ukraine.

So , which soldiers have refused to go back to Ukraine?
Are you going to say now you know better than even Russian media?

How about..you know, you admit that you were wrong?

Order depth on Mintpal is huge.

That is because of a single 50 wall , but this is only one of the former 4 that were near or over 200 btc.

About the refund, if ppl sold the syscoins, can they get refund?

Normally you only get a refund when you bring back the product , s they will ave to bring back the coins.
Of course if sys drops to 300 it would be easy to ask for a refund and then buy back cheaper.

740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - LAUNCHED! on: August 17, 2014, 07:48:56 PM
Can anyone answer this - why did the devs return 234btc back to moolah? And regarding to rumors here they should be used these money for forming buy wall. Buy wall 200+btc set. But money has been already returned. Is something wrong with this?

the answer is a simple one - it was a public display that they are serious and committed to the join - it's was kid of like taking money for work that was not done right - they're fixing the wallet now beause that's their responibility.

after a while you'll come across some coins where the devs take the ipo money and simply disappear - these guys are not that way...

I respect them for that...

and when the dust settles - please feel free to mine this coin at sys.lifeforce.info

Smiley

Absolutely. It was a statement of transparency.  The devs are saying, "We won't get our money until you get yours." Smiley

You both don't understand the question.
Those btc were meant for the walls.
The btc got returned.
Why where the btc still in the support walls?

Yeah, I guess I don't get you.  Moolah had the btc; they turned it over to Syscoin devs.  The Syscoin devs gave Moolah back the money for buy walls.  I guess I'm not seeing the confusion.

The coins where sent to the devs for the buy walls.
The dev in good faith returned the coins to moolah.
Moolah put up the buy walls.

Why instead of this haven't they put the buy walls from the start to avoid this mess.
