721  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Investing against 2024 on: November 11, 2023, 04:26:30 PM
I am so elated each time I come into this forum and see thousands of members who are already outside the matrix doing great things and doing everything possible to get the novice and beginners up in the crypto world.
I hope those spoken to will listen and adhere to what's said. These are priceless stuff being passed around here. It's one thing to take a horse to the river but no one can make it drink water if it doesn't intend to.

We need a good crypto analyst of wall street standard.
There are several users here who give insightful analyses but we must come to the realization that we all speculate on price and no one holds the holy grail when it comes to cryptos. Surprises abound in this industry. Most times, overlooked cryptos are the ones that give better ROI. The best thing now is get enough Bitcoin you can lay your hands on and hodl for the bull run. The expectations are pitch high.

Every sites we visit, everything we do online, every login details, our bank credentials, our accounts, everything is connected and saved in our browses. Our life's works are stored in a browser.
This is the major reason why no one should click on "Remember password/Save password" whenever such an option pops up on a site we get newly registered on. I dislike that feature and honestly can't even figure out why those who okay it by clicking on it do that. If it's not laziness, then I don't know what else it's. We should slow down while at it and get a pen and paper to safely copy out our passwords. Our passwords are our keys and we shouldn't toy with them.
723  Economy / Economics / Re: War and property mortgage you still need to pay If war destroy your Property on: November 11, 2023, 10:01:08 AM
Now it's better to own only cryptocurrency becouse crypto is untouchble by war and you can take it with you If you move in world.
You think that crypto is untouchable during a war situation because it's not a physical commodity/goods, but wait till you lose assess to where you kept your PKey or Passphrase. Of a truth, this is more likely to happen during wars as people are fleeing their homes for safety and can easily drop or forget stuff like that.

Now it's better to give your Property back to bank instead of owning i have mortgage i told my bank take it i Dont need i'll just rent apartment and hold most of my wealth in crypto.
I'm not really sure I understand what you meant there. If by any chance you meant to reveal to your bank that you owned cryptos, that will be a bad idea.

Summarily, during wars, people think more of their safety and survival than business.
724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Would you Like Your Pension Paid in Bitcoin? on: November 11, 2023, 07:41:52 AM
~snipped~
Well, if you live in a country with a good economy, which ensures that the fiat currency of the country isn't losing value and purchasing power as each day breaks, then maybe that term "always diversify" could mean something.
OP, your story is a very interesting one. For me, I wouldn't be looking at the fact of inflation dealing with the local currency. I would've looked at the price rally of Bitcoin. At the time that pension was payable, it was the period Bitcoin was trying to gain global attention. 2017 was that period it hit it. So, imagine what your pension would've been in dollar worth if it was in Bitcoin, even if naira is strong against the dollar in today's reality. This should be my concern, and not necessarily because naira is collapsing. From that period, it means you would've bought below $18k (which was the ATH in December, 2017). Today, Bitcoin price is double of that price despite declining from its current ATH of $68k+.

Anyway, the thing with hindsight is that it makes us see the past in the present and then judge ourselves. I'm sure if the cash was paid directly to you then, you wouldn't have invested it in Bitcoin and hedl till date. Not so? I don't judge but that's the reality with many of us, including me.
725  Economy / Economics / Re: New business idea. on: November 10, 2023, 03:33:18 PM
This business idea can help someone that doesn't even have a skill and someone that is not even educated, all the person just needs to have is the money to buy the manufacturing equipment that's all.
Money isn't easy to come by. It takes money to set up something and the person going into it may not have that capital to start it up. From that video I watched, I'm sure that old man didn't set that stuff up for free.

With this graundnut oil making business, one can get the kind of life he/she wanted because the demands in this graundnut oil making business are a bit high.
Groundnut business is time consuming. Some people may not like such a business that takes their time and away from the comfort of their beds. Have you ever considered how comfortable it's to make money by just sitting in your living/bedroom? The ease of such is more likely to scare anyone who has the ability and set skills to indulge online business going into what you're advocating.

Quote
You can also watch a little on how to manufacture the graundnut oil
That woman's voice was really annoying...❌

She kept shouting money money and how easy it was to make it in groundnut business. The funny thing about life is that we see and believe that the grass is greener on the other side until we cross over. Let her get involved in such a business and she will start singing a different song of how not so lucrative it's.

BTW, this is for my Nigerian brethren as this is more relatable to them, do you know that the thing called Ororo isn't in anyway from groundnut, even though the market people call it groundnut oil? Yes, that's a fact. Ororo is made from palm kernel, not groundnut.
726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that are good for long hodling in this season. on: November 10, 2023, 01:03:02 PM
I believe will saw the new shift of many altcoins price that made the green light to remain stable in some days to make some altcoins hodlers to make a new decision to apply for potential altcoins that will make their profits surplus when the real bull run show up in the market soon.
As it's, both Bitcoin portfolios and altcoin portfolios are "breathing" very well now so to speak. Losses are being recovered. For me, this is expected as the entire market often feels the impact of Bitcoin whenever it moves, whether to the upside or to the downside. However, care must be taken when choosing altcoins to invest in. Not all altcoins are viable. Most of those that are viable can't even last a long term. Most of them are shitcoins and are dead on arrival.

Quote
Do you think this two altcoins are good in long hodling in this season? Because I have seen some reason that made me to apply for long term in this little shift of the price of altcoins which the bull run will show up fully next week.
Many veterans here will tell you that BNB investment should be done with skepticism and an extra layer of carefulness because of the ongoing suits against Binance exchange.
727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What lies ahead for Bitcoin in the coming days? on: November 10, 2023, 12:06:17 PM
Hi everyone.
We can all agree that the starting of this year 2023 has been extremely good for Bitcoin and a few other Cryptocurrencies unlike last year 2022 that Bitcoin had an epileptic run and was literally struggling, making lots of people think twice about still choosing Bitcoin as their choice of investment.
Yes, I must confess that the first quarters of this year really astonished me on what Bitcoin was able to do. I actually wasn't expecting the type of price level it maintained. I expected price to pick in the last quarters as that's what should be expected close to a halving year. Bitcoin started its great form in 2023 earlier than expected. As for the bearishness you witnessed in 2022, it was expected. Price always slump a year after every ATH. 2021 was the ATH which peaked at $68k+. It's the same bearish scenario I expect will play out in 2026.

I remember being in a Facebook group where people were debating if Bitcoin would ever recover or if that was in fact the end of the world biggest Cryptocurrency Bitcoin.
Avoid Facebook for your peace of mind if you're into Bitcoin or cryptos. The comments there are larger than life, whether on FOMO or on FUD.

729  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies don't leave your coins in an exchange on: November 09, 2023, 04:39:54 PM
After you must have bought your bitcoin from an exchange, you should not waste any little time but transfer your bitcoin Asap to your noncustodial wallet to safe gaurd your bitcoin.
I like your analogy down there, throwing light on exchange with reference to what's obtainable in a real life commonplace market situation. Any simple minded person or layman should be able to grab something from that illustration. However, what hasn't ceased to amuse me is how everyone is on the beat about why people shouldn't leave their funds on exchanges. There should be a demarcation in that respect between someone hodling and someone trading. Traders aren't of the same make with hodlers. We shouldn't expect traders not to leave funds on exchanges. How do they execute trades if they don't have ready funds for them on exchanges? Perhaps, what should be canvassed should be not to leave idle funds on exchanges for a long time.
730  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Swedish Bitcoiners targeted by armed criminals on: November 09, 2023, 01:47:25 PM
You need privacy and anonymity. Also avoid social media which armed crimals can use to target people that know about cryptocurrencies.
I think this type of breach is even far beyond the KYC thing. It's more likely a social media exposure some people like to indulge. I've often asked myself why those who expose themselves on social media to flaunt their so called riches do that. Will they die if they've made it through cryptos and don't display it on SM? For me, it's childish to flaunt what one as got in public. Modesty should be everyone's watchword but sadly it's not. Don't be loud on your achievements, especially financial improvement.
731  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never say your recovery seed or private key out loud! on: November 09, 2023, 11:17:03 AM
~
Saying the passphrase out may not be an issue, especially if all aren't said out, as there are many words to it. What caught my attention in what you shared is the webcam thing. That's true for those who make use of PCs. We can't rule out that, and with the cam being on at such a time like that; it exposes things on the other side.

The first wallet that I ever opened, which I ignorantly misplaced the piece of paper where I wrote the password that very day without knowing, and the seed phrase that I saw later wasn't complete, I still have the coinomi wallet and the bitcoin inside it, but I can not send it.
Sadly, many more people will still fall victim to this incident of yours as narrated once the adrenaline rush gets a hold of them as soon as they get the idea of Bitcoin and want to earn from it. They throw caution to the wind. People are often carefree about the safety and security of their wallets no matter how often that warning is sounded.
732  Other / Meta / Re: People commenting on the first page without having read the previous posts. on: November 09, 2023, 07:42:57 AM
It would be much easier to have an opinion if we saw the post.
Exactly! We can't be winking in the dark on this and expect anyone to decode the sign. Who knows, some other members might learn a thing or two if the vexatious post is disclosed here.

It's important to read the main topic but if all the posts only address the main discussion without looking for other posts to correct or verify we will have all replies redundant
Most times, these "sideline posts" even make the threads page turners and interesting read as they expose angles the OP or other users may not have thought of. I'm sure, there's no one here who hasn't partaken or made "correction" posts.

735  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: November 08, 2023, 12:16:14 PM
Many people didn't believe in this project but time proved them wrong.
Yes, I recall that drama vividly and I guess it was majorly because of the mouth watery and unbelievable payrate BestChange offered then and insisted on managing the campaign itself. The account was relatively unknown (to put it mildly). That got so many eyebrows raised. I can't remember the exact amount again but back in the day it was a huge amount as it also caught my attention too.

All the best to all of us, and to the Change that suits Best.
736  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need advice on getting merits on: November 07, 2023, 10:10:10 PM
I know that there are some ways to earn it like being active in your local board, engaging in the gambling threads talking about particular sports, create an informational thread, or have some deep knowledge about bitcoin's technical like block size, hash rate, etc. And that's my concern, I am not good with any of those stuffs.
Yeah, I guess you rightly stated it there with what I found in your post history. You truly aren't good at creating "informational threads". You've been in this forum since 2017. Sadly, you've just one created topic to your credit. From my observation, merit is easily awarded to created topics more than regular comments. This may also be going against you.

I hope OP returns to read all these suggestions made to them here as I've seen their last seen online was about a month ago – October 8.
737  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mistakes to watch out for on: November 07, 2023, 08:55:34 PM
- Avoid trading consolidation: traders that fall victim to this one are people that takes many trades, trading consolidation is very dangerous because it can go anyway, at such point, the market have no clear direction.
Yeah, that's true. I do this too. However, I go in with minimal risk during consolidation until there's a Breakout and then I double my risk the direction of the BO. I don't just hop in once there's a BO. I wait for a retracement. Price has a way of retracing to retest its point of BO, most times. There's a 8 out of 10 chances that it will return for a retest before journeying on.

However, besides all the mistakes you listed is the a major one you didn't list. That's lack of emotional control. Emotion is a trade killer. Any trader who can't control their emotion, whether in winning or losing, will have a hard time being profitable.
738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you cope with those around you not believing in you for choosing Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2023, 04:52:30 PM
I can't keep people who do not believe in what I believe in as friends, what exactly are we going to be discussing when we sit to have a chat if not arguing all the time, I cant keep such people around me as friends, for example, when we are supposed to be discussing on what strategies we must to make sure we make maximum profit from the coming bitcoin bull run, we will rather be arguing if bitcoin is legit or a scam, simply because they do not believe in bitcoin, I avoid such people.
You actually can keep friends with divergent views and opinions. Well, maybe, I should've said I could. I've friends who have heard of Bitcoin but aren't keen on pursuing an investment in it. I don't have any ish with friends like that, provided they aren't talking down on my business. Everyone knows their boundaries and how to keep them and then we're good. Anything short of that, or any of them trying to convince me otherwise will definitely result in me keeping them at arms length. It's that simple.
739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening with Bitcoin transaction fees? on: November 07, 2023, 04:38:40 PM
See Ordinals Heatmap, they are heating up again.
This is really some crazy shit, frankly. It's becoming obvious this is going to be the major bane of Bitcoin, and not even the government we keep poking fingers at for its refusal to fall in line with the mass adoption thing. This congestion gets worse whenever there's price rally a few days in a roll. It frustrates every effort to have smooth transactions. People need seamless (or almost seamless transactions) to want to use a service. In this regard, Bitcoin isn't providing it.
740  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: I want to buy bitcoin periodically on: November 07, 2023, 02:28:27 PM
Monday Oct 2, 2023 : I buy on Binance P2P network 56.84$ USD amount in bitcoin but i only receive 192324 sats that is 53.43$ USD worth...
I've been served this too and I don't know why it's so. You're buying on the same Binance but what you get is always lower than what's bought. I think this is common with Bitcoin purchases. I haven't noticed it in all my stablecoin deals. This is why I've resolved to stay away from buying Bitcoin there. I rather buy USDT and then swap it for Bitcoin. Yes, I know I will be charged a certain commission for swapping it but what is charged is negligible compared to the throat slit I get buying directly.
