You deduced well.

And who would ask you to do that?

I know!  I know!

SCAMMERZ!

A few older totally OT odds and ends. Part 1.

It’s one of the things that living in the UK is shit for, not being able to carry a gun. WHEN bitcoin moon’s I’m moving to the US & will amass a huge Arsenal of weapons for shit’s & gigs.

I think you'd have to get citizenship then. Foreigners aren't allowed to do as they please with weapons.

Not even open carry states?  I've wondered about that, but never checked.  A friend of mine always suggests I take one of his when I'm there, but not worth the hassle unless I dig into the legalities...
763  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 11, 2018, 01:40:20 AM
Those bought bitcoin and forgot about it became rich. While those who bought bitcoin, stuck their eyes to the value daily, didn't win anything at all (that unfortunately includes me as well).

Even your 1 in 30 seems more optimistic to me. It should be somewhat like 1 in 50.

Not everyone who is active is shortsighted - some can see the forest for the trees.

Then it turns out to be only a glade...

Im probably leaving the market within a week in my final distribution. AMA
Is this humour?
if yes - haha
if no - why leave?
Its 10 time less profitable to trade in these kinds of conditions so its an optimal time to reduce the risk of holding funds on exchanges and take a break from the immense stress, risk, and sleep disruption of trading. Also I am now financially set for 2 decades and have chronic illness. If I decide to go after money again and may be via a business or software project like making a new coin or an exchange and possibly not via trading.
Thanks for clarifying. Very best of luck.
(A server hosting company/ISP that one could actually trust would make a lot of money.)
You said AMA, but this is sheer nosiness: what chronic illness?

Not tarding means more time for trolling   Grin

I'm not even confident that I will make it 10 more years. Already signed up for AARP membership.  Cry When the  impending financial Armageddon comes that r0ach warns us about, maybe I'll be a candidate for euthanasia rather than slavery.  Cheesy

 Soylent Green is PEOPLE!

My remains will probably only be deemed fit for pet food.

If we smoke your ashes, will we get high?

I doubt it. I have been clean and sober since 2009. I am a heavy smoker though. Maybe you will get a nicotine buzz.

Allright.  Pet food it is.

Did you guys read the Bittrex statement regarding upcoming fork? Was that the reason why fork was postponed?

Monero's fork has nothing to do with bittrex, and it was not postponed.  It was delayed slightly to wait for Ledger to catch up, since a date had not yet been set.
Bittrex makes statement that they won't support XMR/XMV fork because team has not contacted them earlier and now there is no time to go through review process until 14th of March and then Boom! fork gets delayed. Is that a coincidence?

XMV is not Monero.  Wrong thread.

Engage 1 minute candles !

I'm surprised there's a single person on the buy side after the IRS started sending out letters to Coinbase users telling them coins they bought for pennies require thousands of dollars in taxes on even if they used the coins to do something like buy a pizza before the price went up.  Blockchain is "the future" alright; the future of being trapped in a digital prison and enslaved by the government.

Would you like to propose a better alternative or just grouse about?

You should hire armed guards and bearers to wheel your silver around with you.

Or do you take your silver to the jews for safe keeping?

I forget which one was better, 'casue both sucked.

You are missing that silver has one huge advantage over cryptos that makes it still important. It is non arbitrary. Cryptos are schemes that are hugely arbitrary in their implementation. Why is bitcoin better than litecoin? Why is it better than doge? Fundamentally it isn't. You might say something about it's brand or network. But monero is technologically superior and something will come that will be better than that. Cryptos will probably always be a tumultuous space as new better tech unseats the old over and over again. Wonderful for speculators, manageable for spenders, and terrible for savers. Silver on the other hand is sort of like money from god. It and gold of course. There are only a finite number of elements and the market settled on those two as the best monies, plain and simple, end of story. Silver doesn't get usurped by liteSilver which gets usurped by dogeSilver which gets usurped superUltraXXXSilverV. This is the sense in which I say that it is non arbitrary compared to value transfer protocol schemes and this is the sense in which it will retain its importance.

Do not mistake this for an indictment of Crypto-currencies. I LOVE cryptocurrencies. You know that though.

Of course.  Every person of sense has some metals.  I don't have half a billion worth in my desk drawer, however.  Silver, gold, lead, copper, brass.  It's always a good idea to have them at hand.  And I've got more of it thanks to cryptos.

Another wannabe trader thinks he can analyse patterns, trends and support/resistance on the 5 minute chart.

Sigh.

What happened to the hoard of reddit supporters? They have no issue funding marketing bullshit so they can line their greedly little pockets but when it comes to the most important core parts of the project they are no where to be found. It's almost as if security is kicked from the back seat into the trunk. I bet if we put up a funder to get some second rate hack actor like Seagal it would be funded in 10 minutes.

https://forum.getmonero.org/8/funding-required/90007/bulletproofs-audit-fundraising

We want Carlos from bitconnect!

Come on now 170 xmr in 3 days is not bad at all.

It used to be hours tops for this stuff.

All done.  3 days.  240 xmr ain't peanuts anymore either.

120k subs on reddit. Typically 3000-4000+ online at any given time.  Ya, not much for community support given the numbers.  But we still get it done.

165k is less than 1% of supply.  If the market shits itself because of a fear that 1% of coins might be sold, then the market needs to grow up.
If volume is usually in the 10% range of the total supply then throwing an extra 1% on the market would increase volume by 10% (and thus to 11%). Let's say that of the 10% volume half is buy and half is sell pressure. If you now add 1% total supply to the sell side your sell pressure increases to 6%, which is now 20% higher than the buy pressure. This 20% figure is a bit more significant than 1% and in this case is more visible than the amount of extra coins are as a function of total supply.

tl;dr liquidity matters

And we allll know what happens when it gets turned up to eleven!

Oof.  That is a nasty pounding.

Still waiting to get sufficiently below 0.0304, where  my sell order was caught napping.  If it doesn't happen, I will be quite pleased.

Have you noticed that lately, when not being pumped, or dumped, the trend is to drift slowly up?

Emission, meet Demand -  You may step back, as your work here is done.  Demand can lead from here.
