I'd love to know how much they got out of him when they dropped the hammer before the fake suicide.

Seriously?  You think so?

Seems at least a significant possibility to me.

If one insists on dying in a Bangkok jail cell, paying high fees just adds insult, I guess.   Go BCash!

I'm having problems with monerujo wallet scanning.  This is on a Pixel XL running the latest Oreo.
I opened the wallet after not using it for a while.  It was about 30,000 blocks behind.  It scanned all the way up to the current block (I know because I checked blockheight on another computer).  The rolling red status bar was still moving, which apparently means it was still scanning, but since it was at the current block, I figured I could close the wallet and it would save at the current block.
Not so.  I opened the wallet again, and it said 14,260 blocks behind. No progress scanning, stayed stuck at 14,260.  I went into settings and force-stopped the app.  That didn't help.  I even unstalled the app and reinstalled it (uninstalling leaves the stored wallet files untouched).  It had no effect whatsoever.  14,260 blocks remaining.
This wallet is good and stuck.  How do you fix it?

Might have something to do with the remote node(s) being overwhelmed by new traffic.  Had this issue on the Cake wallet, and just reconnected to node a few times til it comlpelted.

Regardless of the current momentum (down), here is an interesting link:
https://medium.com/@xoelop/weve-simulated-the-bitcoin-price-for-the-whole-2018-you-won-t-believe-the-result-4a602679dac2

Not sure re methodology, but it is kind of cool:
Most likely price: $55-58K/btc at the year end.
The probability of the price below $12951 (price when he made the plot) is just 9.84%.
An equal chance of the price below 13.2K and above 271K. Wow.
We are 20% below, so odds should be even better than 100-9.84%=91.16%, perhaps.
I like these odds  Grin

Repeat of jbreher's post many hours ago.  Still interesting though...

How would people rank XMR in terms of development as compared to BTC at the same age? i.e. since XMR is coming up on 4 years, how does it rank compared to BTC when BTC was going onto year 4?

Since XMR was developed as an answer to the failings of BTC, it is not really a fair comparison.  BTC broke the trail, XMR paves it.

XMR.TO  now integrated in Monerujo android wallet! Awesome.

I didn't even know this was in the works. https://xmr.to/ is definitely Awesome.

The safest way to pay !

Yes, very slick.  To send XMR from Monerujo, put in an XMR address to send XMR, or a BTC address to convert it BTC.  No dicking around, no huge fees.  It just can't get any simpler.

Cheers to BinaryFate for the continual support and expansion of his awesome service!  And of course to the Monerujo team - donation coming, as soon as I get back to one of my storage wallets.

Ledger will solve that problem for me, SoonTM

XMR.TO  now integrated in Monerujo android wallet! Awesome.

I may have to get an andriod phone now, Tongue

I helped set up an Iphone with the Cake wallet today.  Monerujo is just better Tongue  Granted it has far more development and feedback thus far, and Apple tends to send steam out of my ears on a good day.  Cake looks like it has potential though.

Pity I didn't fund my Monerujo beyond it's resident dust before I left home, as I want to spend some.  That's what I get for being in a rush.  Oh well, maybe I'll get more for my moneroj next week  Cool

On a tangentially-related matter, does anyone know why the forums got rid of the glowing ignore color, based on how many people have a particular user marked for ignore ?
Oooh.  I had never noticed this but would enjoy it.

Disappeared around the end of 2013, IIRC, about the same time avatars were locked (for years).  Avatars became changeable again within a couple years, but the forum just couldn't afford the expense of glowing ignore buttons.  There's the new software to develop, you know!  Can't be robbing from that for trivial things.

Holy fuck 30 sat transactions being mined.

Coinbase must have adopted batching + Segwit and not told anyone.

only 105k unconfirmed tx.   Shocked

Yes but a lot of them are spam, so that's no problem. Spam should always remain unconfirmed if possible.

Beats 300k, regardless of composition.

Figured I'd check out the new Kraken.  Still can't log in!  Shocker  Shocked.  I mean, hey, haven't been able to get in for over a year, why would it work now, after a full page of reset passwords?  What a shit show.  Ticket submitted.  Let's see if I get a response before March.  Not that it matters.  Last ticket response was singularly unhelpful and untimely.  I just want to know how much of my money they have.  Is that so much to ask?

What advantages does Monero have against Deeponion? I think I should buy one of them

Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency

That says it all.  Deeponions are none of the above (might be secure, don't care though).  This is asked and answered several times per day/week on this thread, just read back for more depth if you are truly interested.  For sig spamming, just carry on as if you were normal.

can not start the monero-wallet-gui.exe. Windows says "It doesnt working anymore, solution finding" So it ist my first touch with Monero Wallet i can not install. What could i do to solve this problem?

windows is difficult.

End task.  Start monerod.exe, allow to run until sync is complete.  do not close.  Now start GUI.

Well it exists - it’s not vaporware. It’s on the Apple store apparently. That said, it’s not yet been open-sourced so people are understandably wary.

Just seen this and came here for more information. It is just to risk to install something like this. It would be great if there was more news and people testing. No open sourced is another red flag

Does XMR work with any of the hardware wallets?

Ledger Nano S is imminent.  Monero only wallet probably before summer.  Trezor may eventually follow.  But no, as of this moment, there isn't one yet.
1179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 19, 2018, 11:03:48 PM
It is unusual for Monero to go up without any reason. But you see also some other coins up. Decred, ...    And you see random coins going up everyday without any reason. So I guess why not.   But with in the air so many things, then sort of cant not be no reason in Monero at all.

Ya, my thoughts jump immediately to new release news...
