You have advanced Stage III colon cancer. If only we caught you two months earlier." This is why healthcare needs to be run by non-profit charitable organizations. Yes, such organizations have their problems too. However, it makes absolutely no sense to try and profit off the sick and the dying. Getting the government involved just adds a bunch of bureaucratic red tape. My point is, I've come to appreciate the system in the US if you can afford insurance. I went from a severe fracture, to seeing one of the top specialists in the area within 24 hours, to surgery (5 titanium screws used to mend the break) 72 hours later. The ER experience was just a fucking terrible joke. Took forever to get me in, get painkillers in my system, and ER doctor dude was like "Here, wear this sling for a week for the swelling to go down, and we'll do surgery in about 7 days." "FUCK THAT SHIT!" I says to myself. "I WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS SHIT NOW !!!" Called my main GP, said "Who's the best bone fracture guy you know ?", gave me his number, I took matters into my own hands, and was on the mend fast. I can't imagine how that scenario would have played out under the Canadian Medical system. Exactly the same. Overburdened ER, wait til you die or take it into your own hands. US clinics are closer and more expensive, others are cheaper but maybe scarier. Or maybe you have connections to make the 'system' work for you. From what I have read, for the cost of your insurance, better to just save that money and spend as required. Here, we have no choice. We pay top dollar for what is inaccessible, then go pay top dollar again to get immediate attention. I haven't had a doctor in 25+ years. I go wait at the ER if I've pushed myself past crazyglue-fixes, or fix my diet and let nature do the rest. Its pretty effective. |

I already have several accounts at several banks and a credit union. After this is all over I'm closing all of my wells fargo accounts and using a local credit union that I like. Sickening. You use Conbase and Wells Fargo because...? I mean coinbase. and fucking wells fargo. Man. I suppose you could insert <any*bank> for similar disgust. Coinbase blacklisted coins in ?2013? That was their end as far as I'm concerned, and bitcoin's too. Thankfully I didn't have long to wait for a superior option. So far no issue other than stupid delays from the banking end, but that can change...  What is the alternative to coinbase? I couldn't find any other exchanges in the us that would allow me to withdraw fiat. I always thought bitstamp and kraken offered service to the US.  If not I really don't know. I assumed you had more alternatives than I did, in Canada, but maybe not anymore? |

That's actually one of the more interesting aspects of the people who have been here for a while. Our normal is normal to us, but most people can't do what some of us have done. How fucking huge is the mental gap between people? What? 5 years of Ramen noodles and an $800 car while HODLing (then:potential) millions in crypto? No sweat. The will to hold out for billions is what is in play. Do we need it? Do we even really want it? Even strong hands eventually say fuck it. If one is already well fixed, maybe its easier. I wouldn't know  These old hands have some shake, no denying. But the grip is as strong as ever, make no mistake. Creating dynastic wealth is probably no help to your descendants, as they will typically dissipate any fortune within 2-3 generations, and be dumber and less happy for it. So, what is enough to do what YOU want to do, with enough left over to give the next gen a leg up, but not lock them into a life of useless squandering? What is HODLing worth, in the end? This is 100% manipulation. There is no way that this bounce is non-coordinated with massive amount of capital.
They engineer the price dip, and then test people's resolve by dropping the price, and suddenly, when the price is really low, they buy all in at once, causing a massive bounce.
I can't imagine a bunch of people doing this of their own accord all at once.
Those cascading sells you were seeing? Those were a lot of leveraged shorts - borrowed coins. Those borrowed coins need to be returned, meaning there will be buying to equal the selling. They can be caught and forced to buy just as the leveraged longs can be caught and forced to sell, leading to these crazy swings and bounces. Of course it is played to the max by anyone with the balls and bank. |
