Las Palmas have gotten really good recently!  They were flat bottom a few weeks ago weren't they?!
Now they are destroying an ok midtable team at home!

I will be watching out for their next game
762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 22, 2016, 07:48:53 PM
I guess I'll try to predict and bet on the match Werder Bremen vs Hamburger will soon be underway. score will appear under 2.5 goals with odds @ 1.43
not looking great for the under 2.5
Hamburg are playing quite well Bremen are starting to look like they will be in the play off game at best

ZH are Gloomer and Doomers?

If you invest in the markets or buy bonds, yes!
If you buy PMs, guns or emergency food, no!

They are pretty good at telling the other side of the news, we know that they are right, but it also makes no difference to a rising market, you can't fight the fed!
764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 22, 2016, 05:27:27 AM
Tottenham Hotspur still have a great opportunity to be able to premiere the English league title this year. spurs left only a little point and anything can still happen over the last 4 games in the future. leicester city get a strong pressure towards the end of this season.

It could happen, but what is clear is that Leicester need to win their next game at home against Swansea.
They play Man Utd, Everton and Chelsea after that, they could easily only get 1 point from those 3 games.

They are 5 points clear, a win against Swansea means Tottenham need 8 points from the last 4 games and WBA and Soton at home seem like they should be wins, leaving Chelsea and Newcastle away.

I can see Spurs getting 10 points from the last 4, that means Leicester will need 6, if they win at the weekend then they just need 1 more win from the last 3. It's pretty exciting!
765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spanish League Prediction Thread (La Liga) on: April 22, 2016, 05:21:43 AM
Las Palmas vs Espanyol. Both teams arent at good performance lately. But since Las Palmas will play this game at they own home I consider to pick Las Palmas -0.25 asian handicap. This will depend on the luck cause hard to predict this game nowadays.

Yeah something seems to have lit a fire under Las Palmas recently, I think they will continue their good form with a win by an odd goal.
I think I will go for over 2.5 goals and hope for a 2-1 or 3-2.
766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 21, 2016, 08:56:59 PM
Well Arsenal pretty much did what was expected, shame for those backing over 2.5 that they couldn't get the 3rd, but I guess they didn't need it.

It was pretty important for their champions league qualification bid that they won tonight.
767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 21, 2016, 04:00:20 PM
Bayern was champion of the Bundesliga a while a go they are just to good. The other clubs are just competing for second place and for a sport i the Champions League. In my opinion the Bundesliga is not even fun anymore.
unfortunately these is happened almost on every seasons that Bayern munich has the strong teams and can go alone on the top of standings league and their opponents only can finish on the 2nd place and i think it would be happened again this season

It might not be too much fun with regards to who will win the league (Bayern 4x in a row now?) but the league itself is pretty good.  There are big clubs like Stuttgart who have been fighting relegation.  Schalke and Leverkusen are both good teams, there are little plucky underdogs like Augsburg and Mainz beating out bigger spenders like Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg (sometimes).

I like the Bundesliga, I think the quality of the football is high.  It might not be the spectacle of the EPL, but it is a strong league.
768  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Fixing Bitcoin's 2nd big issue.. on: April 21, 2016, 03:55:50 PM
Ho hum.. just talking to myself here..   Tongue

How about this :

Make it so that the miner's centralised hash power can't compete with the masses.

..

There are 1 billion android phones out there.

If Android phones (unsure if Apple would jump onboard with this..) started to come out with heat efficient, low power, mining chips and excellent low-bandwidth mining pool integration, would that help..

I'm not up on how powerful a small SHA256 chip is at the moment.. Can someone who knows chip in.. ?

Do 1 billion times that number amount to more than a hill of beans in this crazy bitcoin miner's world ?

If so, the pool operators, would make their cut (and if using the original OP scheme there could be many of them), but the Hashing would be left to the users..

A comment about your idea.  Would that not mean that some of the major miners would start mining blocks less frequently, leaving the majority of blocks to be mined by an even smaller number of miners, should they choose to mine at the lowest difficulty/reward?  That could result in more consecutive blocks being mined, with the dangers inherent to that increasing too.

It's hard to stop centralization, large miners are basically self selecting, i.e. somewhere with free electricity and good internet. What Bitcoin need is something like in a PoS coin, where there is a disadvantage or lull after mining your last block. I have no idea how that would work though.

I used them a few times, thought everything was ok, until I found out that the buyer had claimed non-receipt of the items, so got a refund (apparently automatic for an Amazon marketplace trader).  I ended up getting lots of angry emails and phone calls from the company after they found the signed delivery note.

It ended up with them starting a case against the buyer, it wasn't worth the stress.  Ask yourself, why are they buying bitcoin 15% above market rate?
770  Economy / Economics / Re: Video: What Happens If Everybody Pulls Their Money Out Of The Bank Today? on: April 21, 2016, 03:41:05 PM
Fractional reserve banking isn't new or unknown!

I guess even those people who don't know about fractional reserve banking would be able to work out that their money isn't sat in a box somewhere waiting to be picked up!  Otherwise how would loans and debt work?
771  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Game over! China double spent bitcoin! on: April 21, 2016, 01:19:42 PM
what happened to putting little ASICs into everyday appliances so that the network would be less centralized?
I forget the name of the company that got investment a while back, but it seems to be needed more than ever at the moment.

This does sound like an exceptional case.  Game over might be a slight over-reaction on the OPs behalf!
772  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Shapeshift coming back on: April 21, 2016, 01:16:26 PM
I hope they start, or already have started, legal procedings against the 'rogue employee'
Crypto currency is money, if a bank employee told a thief how to steal cash from the bank, they would be arrested, the same should happen here.

I hope they have made lots of improvements, it takes a long time to regain trust though
773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 21, 2016, 01:06:46 PM
Well Liverpool seem to be on really good late season form, will anyone be betting against them being in the top 4 next season?

Manchester United won 2-0 at home vs Palace... I don't see that as a new dawn, they are still just a very expensive decent team, I would bet against them being top 4 next season.
Liverpool being on the top perform since Jurgen Klopp hired as the new coach. Now I know why Borussia Dortmund fans really love this guy. About Manchester United, their strategy is boring imo, where they rarely made good chance on their matches. If they don't have De Gea on their side, surely they would getting worse situation now.

One of the soccer rules is, these can have a  goalkeeper and he can use his hands.
Roll Eyes
I didnt say "If they don't have goalkeeper on their side....", but I am talking about De Gea. Do you get it?
It was pretty clear that you meant that!  Much like Newcastle had Given in goal for a long time, and we always said that we would get relegated without him, then he left and we got relegated!

Tonight Arsenal will win pretty easily.  Playing WBA at home who have nothing to play for seems like a flat track to me, and Arsenal are nothing if not flat track bullies!  I'll take a 2-3 goal victory.
774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feathercoin Doubled on: April 21, 2016, 12:59:21 PM
its a grab
someone took a big position
FTC will be one of the major POW chains by 2020

I can imagine that it is that someone has taken a position, but it is a very impatient person if that is the case!
They could have slowly amassed a position instead of doubling the price in a day or 2.

Why will it be one of the major POWs in 2020?  I don't really get why LTC was popular, so a LTC clone seems fairly unimpressibve to me.
Time is on it's side, but from the oldies I prefer Peercoin and Primecoin, though they are way out of fashion!
775  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did any of you buy thanks to Mike Hearn's discount yet? on: April 21, 2016, 12:46:22 PM
I sold all my BTC one hour after he posted his blogpost and more then doubled my investments because of that. Too bad you guys missed that opportuniity, but hey, you can't win them all. I certainly haven't but this one was golden.

BTW I think BTC was and still is overvalued.
You are still invested in Bitcoin but think that it was and is overvalued?

I am happy with my investment, I have my coins in cold storage and don't buy or sell the peaks and dips.  If and when I do sell, it will be because I don't believe in Bitcoin anymore, so a non-issue at the moment
776  Economy / Economics / Re: Why better tech can't kill Bitcoin on: April 21, 2016, 12:41:41 PM
I actually a) don't agree with the premise and b) don't like the idea that bitcoin can't be killed by better technology.

I can imagine people flying in Zeppelins over the Atlantic in a week or so, thinking that planes might be faster and better, but newer better technology can't destroy the Zeppelin.

I thought Bitcoin was about innovation and an improvement on the old system of fiat money.  By ignoring or denying further improvments, you are going against the idea of Bitcoin.
I am not saying that the future is here, and that current generation Alts can replace bitcoin, but if and when something comes along that is actually better than Bitcoin, I will sell up and move to that instead.
777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Mrai for 38 captchas on: April 21, 2016, 05:38:40 AM
what is the assumed value of a Mrai?
I can't find it on Crypto-Currency Market Cap, so 5 Mrai could be really good, or rubbish!

I expect that it is a few thousand satoshis, faucets usually pay a few fractions of a cent and everyone loves them!
778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be ethereum price in 2 years from now ? on: April 21, 2016, 05:35:47 AM
I agree with that, it should be priced in USD.  Bitcoin could be $100 or $10,000 in 2 years, so saying that ETH with be 0.02BTC could mean almost anything!

As for the USD price, I expect it will be higher than it is now, say $5, but not a dream scenario of speculators here.  I don't see it overtaking bitcoin and there are lots of alternatives to ETH.  It may depend more on the newer alts than bitcoin.  Maybe waves or lisk or some other new coin will dominate the Alt scene.
779  Economy / Speculation / Re: 440$ reached on: April 21, 2016, 05:32:03 AM
With or without the halving, bitcoin's price could rise hugely from here.

I think the halving might get a lot of press, which will remind people of bitcoin, hopefully making them look at it again and see that it is much more stable now than it used to be. That could bring in more investors, possibly through the ETFs that are available now.

Without the halving I think the price rise would be more organic.  Who knows know, it could crash back to $200, not much has changed since winter, though I think the price was too low in winter.
