For people to finally learn that price predictions are pure fine grade BS.

Or to not make investment decisions based on advice from random guys on a forum.

Take your pick  Wink

Is McAfee a random guy?

If price predictions are BS, what is the purpose of this board?

Half way mark broken. C'mon guys we all know this is going to get funded eventually but why not sooner rather than later? I'll go ahead and send a bit more. Let's get this rolling. This is going to be big for us.

https://forum.getmonero.org/8/funding-required/90007/bulletproofs-audit-fundraising

First 2 funded, working on the third auditor now.  If there is extra it will go to an audit for the multisig paper, so that would be good.  I'll add some more too.
786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 07, 2018, 11:16:45 PM
That fucking joke of a fork (XMV) will have fuck all hash rate, and be dumped to pennies in seconds. It's literally a fucking money grab.

This market is a retard, notwithstanding this fact, even this market isn't stupid enough to pump on the 'promises' of XMV.

This minor upswing (from 0.029 (our 2 month average)) is everything to do with accumulation and nothing to do with that fork.

We are about to see a biblical in-surge of wealth into XMR for three reasons:

1) Fundamentals:

Hardware wallet support, particularly ledger, opening the door to a whole new class of investor
Subaddresses
Kovri
Bulletproofs
Multisignature wallets
Hyperbolic adoption IRL/DNM

2) 2018 will be a pump year for 'privacy' coins as they come into vogue

3) Monero is the truest, most altruistic, sovereignless crypto today. Also MRL, is a fucking incredible powerhouse.

Monero will be 0.05 ~~1KUSD by year end, about rank 7 on CMC. I have no doubt of this.

If there is a 'dump' back to 0.028X, this is due to self fulfilling prophecy as people expect a pre/post fork dump. Not due to the MoneroV speculators, because there simply can't be many. Why? they have 1K subs on their subreddit, they have single digit active figures and the whole fucking world is aware it's just another BTG.

I find that to be sadly pessimistic, but to each his own.  Maybe shorten the window some, and it will be more palatable Wink

Who was it that had the Dash theory? Basically saying - those in Dash for privacy reason are finally seeing XMR as the better option and will start to move over?

Based on my shitty 30 day charts against BTC -
Dash - down 28%
XMR  - Up 20%

I also wonder as XMR moves up the mkt cap charts if there is significant money/funds who index off the top 10 caps and rebalance frequently enough to snowball the climb a bit.

It's been a fairly common theory over the years.  Cryptoizzy blogged about it recently though:

Would you feel differently if you looked at the dollar price?

I think we  are around the same number there(BTC), but that asset is at at least x10 so we can realy say we are looking at .3 in a way already.

I don't explain shit very well.

Smiley
/G

30 -40% $ increase 2 years running.  Does that make it more likely, or less likely to make it 3 years? I can't say, but X10 is really pretty boring, if that's all that comes this year.  In case you hadn't noticed, It's Happening!   Grin Grin Tongue

Where are we going?  I remember waiting, patiently, at 0.002-3, certain that 0.006 - 0.009 was just around the next corner.   And on the third try, it was.  But 0.009 turned out to be 0.0265.  There was rejoicing.   As we linger in the 0.02-3 range, I ask, where are we going next?  My mind can't help but draw a parallel, and I think, briefly, of 0.265.

tl;dr

Quote
In general, when in doubt, do not use non-native forks of Monero. If there’s an improvement that a coin makes over Monero, you can generally rest assured that the Monero community will either adopt it immediately, or be easily convinced to do so. However, so far, we haven’t found any non-native Monero forks which we wanted to recommend. Meanwhile, the Monero Research Lab continues to improve the Monero technology through its collaboration with cryptocurrency researchers from multiple projects worldwide.

@explorer:  Maybe is a scam I don't know , but I hold monero since may 2017 and if I can get money for free, why not? If you are thinking is a scam and it has no value, then if you get, send my your moneroV

Well I do know, because I can read and comprehend.  Research.  read.  learn.  Or not.  your call.
Money for free -  implies you can sell it... somewhere, to someone.  Where?  Whom?   At what cost?

  crickets...

I've been holding and using XMR since May as well.  Just May 2014.

Why don't I just send you my private keys now?  post your home address, and I'll get on it.   Roll Eyes
792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: March 06, 2018, 09:24:34 AM
where should I hold my XMR if I want to get MoneroV? Thanks

http://scamcoin.com  has all of the answers.

Out of sheer curiosity, what would you want monerov for?  It has no purpose, no markets, no value, and is such an obvious scam.  You can't even put it on a shelf to laugh at. You can't see it, you can't sell it trade it or spend it.  It's a virtual scam.  What is the point?
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: March 06, 2018, 06:39:20 AM

SHIT, Afraid to Google Shum now, lets see how long I can hold out. And I just blame aminorex for everything, it makes things easier! Cheesy

NOT caught up yet (threads) and out of time so I'll just ask. HAS there been a Proven ASIC sighting or is it all just conjecture still?

Fluffypony said in the last dev meeting that they exist, he had been given evidence of it.  We will see at the end of the month, if the hash rate drops and doesn't bounce back.  I expect a drop under any circumstances, as there are always pools that are slow to update, and bot nets might fall in this catagory.  The ASICS will just die, leaving a  hole in the total hash rate.  Perhaps there are enough like me that will mine during that period that it will mitigate somewhat.  Time will tell.

12:20 PM <@fluffypony> if we wait till September then new ASICs will be taped out

12:21 PM <DaveJones> well he is right ... you would have to develop some change in hidden... how do you want to test sth thats hidden and review it ?
12:21 PM <psychocrypt> are there ASICs on the way?
12:21 PM <+moneromooo> The fork is pushed back to end of march, due to the two weeks faffing around.
12:21 PM <@fluffypony> psychocrypt: ASICs already exist
12:21 PM <medusa_> well is there anything we dont know in that regard ?
12:21 PM <medusa_> really ?

12:22 PM <knifeofpi> but ASICs...?

12:22 PM <knifeofpi> when did this happen?
12:22 PM <medusa_> the reddit post you mean ?

12:22 PM <@fluffypony> a handful of others have had similar confirmation via via
12:22 PM <psychocrypt> @fluffypony: are this ASICS or FPGAs?
12:23 PM <@fluffypony> were it just me I would find it suspicious

Well, if the rules are clear beforehand, and A knows that he won't get money for medicines even if that means dieing, then he has to die for not mowning the lawn (it is HIS decision). There can be some exceptions as if he is disabled and therefore can't do it or is incapable of understanding the rules due to some mental issues. Acting otherwise would be completely unfair.

P.S.: I think I have some "leftist" inclinations for making some exceptions in relation to protect the weak (not the lazy though).

What if the parents are very lazy and don’t mow the lawn, but the consequence is their children die?

The examples does not give a shit.

Just so we are perfectly clear, you are advocating killing children through neglect because their parents do not provide for them?

So you're saying...  Lobsters will eat our children?

Bitcoin private has better privacy technology and you have the option to send a private transaction or public. Plus it's built on bitcoins blockchain which has better written code from over 400 developers that worked on it.

Sorry just had to say, You are an Idiot. that us all. Smiley

Bar just keeps getting lower and lower.

Please help.

I have been mining for bitcoin at home for 2 years now and found nothing.

How deep do I have to go?

200m and now my house has fallen into the hole, the government man says I have to stop immediately.

What should I do?

Screw the government!   Keep Digging!  No law against mining bitcoin in your basement.  Damn interfering bureaucrats always sticking their noses in

Long / shorts ratio just passed 2.0.  This is the entry point to a bull market.

Doesn't that just mean its time to whale stomp all of those positions?  Or wait for a still higher ratio?

Personally, I'm in the camp of believing the shootings and most other "terror acts" are manufactured by the state.  Sure, all the medication people take now days is likely a large contributor if it's not entirely manufactured but I'm still leaning towards a state manufactured agenda. Seriously, are shootings just getting popular with the youth like eating Tide balls? Common, I truly don't believe so many people are slipping on the same banana.
History does not repeat but it rhymes. You think we could have gotten support to invade the Middle East without 9/11? And they're still there?
I call BS

Ding Ding!  You have highlighted a common denominator!  All (AFAIK) were on/had used psycho drugs.
