Makes me laugh when people say buy is fake, obviously some people are capable of dumping 10-30k XMR at will.

Thank you Based God

784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes our job so hard to spread awareness on: December 08, 2014, 06:08:20 AM
So many people just do their job day in day out, not thinking about how to get involved in something new. If anything, they are afraid of changes. This is why it is *so hard* to convince new people to use bitcoin.

Thanks to whomever sent me 1 XMR via saddam.moneroaddress.org! We will never know.

I will give away 1 xmr to anyone that makes an openalias wallet. Lets make it rain.  Cool

Well, what shall I say, for Tipping Websites using domain adresses makes sense.

That is perhaps an almost infinite realm of possibility. You know you cannot fund your webpage using advertisement popups, somebody allready tried that. Nor offer an entry field for supporting people's credit card credentials, for known reasons.
A money in cash equivalent with a clean reputation and a common name fits into this in a perfect way.

Names always had that habit of designating someone. Maybe connecting names with anonymity is a misfit by design.

Yes, maybe it is a bit absurd using the most anonymous payment system and tying it to something as public as the Yellow Pages. But it makes the currency easier to use for some people that don't *always* need the most privacy. Sending some money to your mother, for instance.

Drip coffee actually contains more caffeine by volume because it has more time in contact with the ground beans. Espresso is only pulled for like 20-30 seconds but under high pressure, whereas drip coffee is like 3 minutes. No doubt they will both get you jacked but it is a negligible difference between drinking many espresso shots vs cups of drip coffee.

Wtf am i talking about ?

What's your favorite type of coffee?

if i had to choose 1 origin to drink for the rest of my life: ethiopian yirgacheffe

for a special treat i enjoy a natural process coffee (the beans are dried with the fruit intact instead of being washed off normally). its so aromatic and fruity, more like tea than coffee.

that being said i also enjoy many coffees from south america, just depends on what is available from my local roaster.

i don't think its negatively impacting my life, i just think i'm addicted to it...bitcoin would have to go to the low double digits for me to ever lose money but i still feel compelled to buy lots of it even at today's prices.

is that gambling?  Shocked
794  Other / Off-topic / cryptocurrency addiction on: December 08, 2014, 12:34:26 AM
does anyone else have it?

i mean, i keep pouring money into crypto because i believe in it, but also because of the insane *highs* (and lows) that i felt throughout 2013.
795  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to Know when a girl likes you? on: December 08, 2014, 12:30:52 AM
How to know it ?

Try this

EYE CONTACT

If you see her and she sees you into your eyes for 8 seconds

80 % chance she/he has interest with you

TRY THAT !  Cool

lol 8 seconds is a really long time, i think you would know before 8 seconds if they don't immediately look away.

 Shocked

hey guys check this out. wow. no more having to copy and paste huge addresses! cool new feature in the 0.8.8.5, great work devs  Cheesy

go to https://openalias.org/ to learn how to make your own alias!

That is cool! How did you get your the saddam.moneroaddress.org alias you reference in your sig? Did you have to register the domain name moneroaddress.org yourself? Does this mean that to get our own openalias to use with Monero, we have to find domain name registrars that allow anonymous registration?

I already had moneroaddress.org sitting around not being used for anything yet, it was really easy to setup. Just add a TXT record to your domain like so:

Code:
oa1:xmr recipient_address=<your XMR address>; recipient_name=<your name>;

I have yet to configure the domain for DNSSEC, I am still reading up on how to do that.

Also it looks possible to add payment IDs to your alias, would be really cool for example to fund your account at crypto kingdom just by entering saddam.cryptokingdom.com or something like that.

I've got a problem trying to run 0.8.8.5 on OSX (10.10.1)...

Code:
dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/local/lib/libevent-2.0.5.dylib

I've tried updating libevent but the most recent version I can find is 2.0.21 - any ideas?

EDIT:
I tried brew unlink libevent && brew link libevent. Now I get a completely different error when I try to launch bitmonerod.

Code:
Illegal instruction: 4

I can't help but I did get mine working on OSX 10.10.1 using Homebrew. I ran into a bit more trouble than usual. Did you run brew doctor? It advised me to link libevent and zeromq. I also had to brew install makedepend. During the build process I was seeing errors from curl, about certificate problems. But it seems to be working now.

Thanks, I ran brew doctor, brew upgrade, brew update and it did seem to make some progress.

Now when I try brew install --HEAD bitmonero, I get a cmake error. Sigh. I'll keep at it.

UPDATE: I got it!! For some reason it worked when I tried brew install bitmonero, not brew install --HEAD bitmonero.
