7881  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC holding it's own trend? on: July 24, 2018, 06:01:33 PM
Watching the markets closely and I find it interesting that while BTC has been trending up slightly over the past week, the majority of other alts are down or just wavering...could this be why BTC is trending up? Everyone is focusing on that? I thought it was interesting as normally we see everything move in tandem together but this time I'm not sure whether to invest in any alts given they seem to be going their own way...

Its usually the norm, when the price of bitcoin is up, altcoins decline. Its because  investors are shifting their funds to bitcoin again so we can say that there is a correlation between the two markets but there was some exceptions to the rule, just the December 2017 madness. But usually investors are moving their funds where their a lot of potential profits. Obviously, bitcoin is moving upward in the last week so majority of the money from altcoins have been shifted already.

So they don't move in a tandem, as you have understand it. You can still invest in alts why not? But just be careful because you should know by now that there are a lot of them whose purpose is a "pump-and-dump" scheme.
7882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Positive light on Cryptos on: July 23, 2018, 10:40:29 AM
https://www.forbes.com/sites/kenrapoza/2018/04/25/nasdaq-ceo-bitcoin-trading-cryptocurrency/

It seems as though now that the cryptocurrency market is recovering people are jumping back onto the ship. CEOs are starting to back cryptos and like they never stopped. It is amazing how many people change their stances when their is an influx of capital flowing into the market. It certainly makes it easier top see who is saying what just for the publicity and their own benefit.

Good Luck Traders,
The Elysian Team
Indeed, traders are becoming happier and their mentality is more exciting than ever. The Cryptocurrency market is getting very good investors and they understand how this market works.
So in the future, there will be many new traders joining in. The market capitalization of Crypto became larger.

I wouldn't say that they are happier and excited. It would be more of a renewed interest, like a person who has been away but then suddenly woke up and find that he can't get over it so he/she decided to go back again. If you look at the trading volumes it is still weak, not a good indication that the bullrun that we are all hoping would happen, not yet.

It would need a lot of cash to pour again perhaps a good 7 -10 million (daily trades) will be a good gauge. So everyone should not be excited and jump for joy we need more positive news so that investors specially fresh blood to come in and pump the market again.
7883  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin hit 60,000$ by the end of 2018? on: July 22, 2018, 09:54:47 PM
The only reason why I think people are still saying that bitcoin can reach new all-time-high and at the range of $60K is that they are big investors so it makes sense for them to at least influence the investors to pour their money on the market at this point.

But in reality, most of us know that its going to be difficult to even get to $15K because of so much negativity around us. Plus the bears would not easily give up the fight. If the bulls really wanted to wrestle, we should do it this time otherwise we wont see that massive bull run that we all have been waiting for.
7884  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Can Soon Hit $40,000 as Trading Becomes Easier on: July 22, 2018, 09:24:13 PM
we all watch the picture of last year! the schedule repeats and bitcoin starts to grow, and I'm sure that it will not break through only 40 000 dollars. In the new year, it breaks the mark of 50 000 dollars and it will be only the beginning !!!

But the picture of the market was different. There's no government on our throat and waging war against bitcoin and conspiracy and waves after waves of positive news specially when financial institutions enter in December. But it was pretty obvious that the run we have is artificial, hence the price dramatically falls to $6K-$7K.

So we have to wait and see if bitcoin can recover again this year, but as far as $40K, I don't think that its possible, it could mean cash should pour on the market but I don't see it happening because for me the bears can total control of the market eventhough the price seems to go upwards in the last 2 weeks.
7885  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin and 2018 on: July 21, 2018, 07:09:08 AM
it seems that bitcoin in 2018 is too much to make the traders a lot of losses because bitcoin prices from the price of $ 20k fell and took a lot of casualties who suffered huge losses.

If you have bought it during its peak, I'm sure that you have seen 60% losses by now. Heck they might be out of the ecosystem and totally sold everything because of the huge losses they got.

2018 is not a good year to start, most people even says that its similar to previous years specially after the Mt. Gox heist that put the market into a bear sentiments for more than a year.

However, we should not be frustrated, we should stick with this market through its worst and best days. And I'm sure that we can all bounce back, and together we will see the fruit of our being resilient and staying power in bitcoin and crypto in general.
7886  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: KuCoin vs Binance on: July 19, 2018, 05:52:25 PM
It looks like Binance has made another move:

Quote
Binance has officially confirmed today the launch of its Tiered Trading Fee Discount Program and the adjustment of the discount rate that can be implemented to trading fees using the BNB token.

https://bcfocus.com/news/binance-to-introduce-discount-program-and-reshuffle-its-discount-rates/18836/

I'm not familiar with this Tiered Trading, but this is another reason why Binance is on top of the food chain. They pioneered other options for most of us traders to fully take advantage of crypto and how to make more money. I have nothing bad to say to Kucoin though, both of them are the gold standards now and they are raising the bar and the competition very high.
7887  Economy / Speculation / Re: wow, bitcoin's price is increasing again! on: July 18, 2018, 09:45:57 PM
Dont know what happened but in last one hour it declined almost 200$ in a sudden moments and dropped back to 7300$. Now its going little up again.

No one know for certain what causes the declined in the last hour or so. Maybe traders just shorting bitcoin because we have dramatically increased in the last 48 hours or so. To tempting for investors to make quick money.

It also shows how a single news can turn the sentiments of investors 360. But the question remains, is this the start of a bull run or bull trap? Remains to be seen.
7888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Pacquiao vs Matthysse July 15 2018 on: July 17, 2018, 10:01:52 PM
What do you guys think of Manny facing Adrien Broner? Adrien is one of the best trash talker in boxing right now. But he can't back it up. Remember how he trash talk Maidana (Lucas' fellow Argentinian) and saying that he will speak English after he beat's him. And then Maidana knock him down and do the stanky walk. Lol. That was classic the Internet and boxing world exploded that year with meme's of Broner going around the web. If Pacquaio can shut his mouth for good, that would be really entertaining. hehehehe.

No. Pacquaio has nothing to gain fighting that Floyd clone. He might have a big mouth and very entertaining, but its too risky for Pacquaio and little to gain. Risk - if he loss, then many will say that his win against Lucas Mattysse is a fluke, and this will put a questionable mark on his resume, that Broner that was destroyed by Maidana, Shaun Porter (his former sparring mate) and Mickey Gracia. For me, the best fight Manny should take is against Crawford, the bigger the risk, the higher the reward at this point of his career.
7889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Pacquiao vs Matthysse July 15 2018 on: July 16, 2018, 04:21:24 AM
Congratulations Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.

There's no more argument if he's going to retire or not, one of his camp stated that they are picking a card for his next fight.

Elusive man wanted for murder nabbed during Pacquiao fight

A MOST wanted criminal in Marikina City who was accused of killing a man was arrested when he came home to his family to watch the fight of Manny Pacquiao and Lucas Matthysse yesterday morning in Rodriguez, Rizal.

http://www.journal.com.ph/news/metro/elusive-man-wanted-for-murder-nabbed-during-pacquiao-fight

That's how Manny impact the whole country of the Philippines. Criminals goes back to their home to watch the fight with their families, because its like a family tradition watching their hero win or lose.
Imagine, Pacman helped the authorities to arrest this criminal while fighting on Malaysia.
This news made me laugh (in a good way) because it really impacts how the Filipinos support an Athlete/Senator named Manny Pacquiao. I really do expect that other atheletes would call out to him for fights just like nydiacaskey01 said. I can’t wait for another fight by Manny.

That's how big the impact that Manny Pacquiao has been doing since he set foot on the ring. There are numerous reports similar from the past as well. Heck, he can even stop the world for the Filipinos for the whole 36 minutes, no crimes, no traffics and even communist and terrorist stops briefly to watch his fight, specially during Manny's peak years ago. Grin

Jeff Horn is calling Manny out. Lol.

How about Manny going up against the young guns? Crawford, Spence, Thurman? What do you guys think of those young bulls?
7890  Economy / Speculation / Re: Main reason for the price drop on: July 16, 2018, 03:42:55 AM
Since there's been a lot of negative FUD related to BTC lately, (hacking, regulations etc) it always leads to a downwards spiral. I am surprised it has lasted as long as it has though.

Right, with all the negative news and crypto regulations knocking at our door, it really surprises us all to see that bitcoin or crypto in general has lasted through this year and the price is still going strong at this juncture. Although the price fall from $20K to $6K is not a picture to behold, we should be happy that we are still here and lasted long enough.

And if we can go over this hump, then this is another testament that bitcoin and crypto is here to stay for good, no matter what the governments and central banks around the world will do.
7891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Pacquiao vs Matthysse July 15 2018 on: July 15, 2018, 02:36:51 PM
Only mayweayher can match with the pacman. New boxing superstars will just puke when they face any of the two. The atmosphere where different when facing Manny that's why Young guns cannot do what they planned to do.

The last match generated revenues of around $400 million. Both Pacquiao and Mayweather may be interested in another match, if such revenues can be guaranteed. Money matters more than anything else!!!

Yes you are correct. Who would have thought that Mayweather vs Connor will push through? I'm one of those who think that Mayweather will not pursue that fight because its going to taint his legacy. but when money talks, I mean big money involved, everyone in the table listens. Grin

So most likely if the price is right, Mayweather will opt to fight Manny to generate more money to keep his lifestyle. As for Manny I don't know who's next. I'm also interested as to what Freddie Roach would say. Remember that this is the first time in almost 20 years that Freddie is not on his side. The last article I read is that he mentioned about Manny's shoulder not healing properly. I don't know if this is an "attack" on Manny for dumping him or just stirring controversies so that more boxing fans will watch his fight against Lucas.

7892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Manny wins over Matthysse!! on: July 15, 2018, 02:01:19 PM
The 40-year old guy won the match against Matthysse, whom I thought was on top form. Never expected this result, as I was sure that Pacman was going to lose. The good thing is that I didn't made a bet on this match. Else I would have lost quite a bit.

Well the 40 year old guy has still some pops on both hands isn't it. He maybe a tad slower because of his age, but the timing and the footwork and the power was definitely present. How can you go against that 40 year old guy though. I really don't know if you really follow boxing a lot or just wanted that 40 year old guy to lose.

@crwth, there's a lot of Manny's opponent that trash talk him but fail to deliver, you can find a lot of YT videos about it, specially Hatton and his coach back then Mayweather Sr., saying that Manny always do the same moves, but guess what, Manny retire Hatton. And then there's Margarito and Rios calling Manny "Puto", again, Margarito suffers a broken orbital bone at his right eye and Rios crying after his defeat. So moral lesson, don't trash talk that 40 year old dude. Grin
7893  Economy / Economics / Re: So many cryptocurrencies ! on: July 14, 2018, 08:15:20 PM
There are 1624 currently active cryptocurrencies and more than 100 cryptocurrencies exchanges working right now in 2018.
With so many cryptocurrencies in the market Without regulations I feel there should be some body to legalize only a few , since its not like the more the merrier!
It just increases risks of any Fraud.
Small companies often are at a risk of shutting down with so tough competition.
The reason why the percentage of market Bitcoins dominates isn't exactly because they got less investors now , it's just because with so many currencies around the globe it's getting saturated and distributed .
Only some of them would be successful like 10-20 but with this tough competition it's risking people's investments and both these small small exchanges.
I strongly believe that a regulatory body should tackle this and then make a decision.
I think is negative in it's own way.
Share your opinions below , do you think it's positive ?

In my own opinion, its fine that there's so many cryptocurrency because it only means that bitcoins will keep on growing since the competition will be tighter in the future and more platforms is going to come.

But its somewhat intimidating if you are new into the crypto market because of so much altcoins (shitcoins) so chose from that you are really saturated and don't know what to do unless you have some guidance to help you understand the ins and outs of this industry.

On the other hand, having so much crypto sometimes took away money from bitcoin. Because the supposed to be money that should go to bitcoin market, was instead poured on altcoins (shitcoins) and when someone looses, they all bitching it out that they regret their decision and should have put their money on bitcoin ecosystem instead.

That's really a expensive lessons to learned at the beginning of your career.
7894  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you afraid of the market now? on: July 14, 2018, 07:37:30 PM
I still hope that the next economic crisis will not be soon. in any case, people can start to seek refuge in cryptocurrencies so it may even be good for crypto

Well if its a global economic crisis then all market should be down and I don't think that people will seek refuge in cryptos. Maybe some of them, but gold and other precious metals holder will remain to their market because its a good hedge against financial troubles.

I don't know if everyone understands how the market really works. If you did then you should be afraid or worry because in the first place this market is very volatile. If you can't take it then you should get out because its not for the faint of heart.

But if you are all in and willing to take the risk and not be affected by the price swing and will stick in out whatever the sentiments might be, chances are you are not going to panic and be afraid eventhough the market is really struggling this year.
7895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple Founder Reminds the Impact of Bitcoin and other crypto. on: July 14, 2018, 07:05:56 PM
Steve Wozniak may be one of the supporters of the existence of Bitcoin. However, it has the opposite view of blockchain.

According to one of the founders of Apple, the trend surrounding the blockchain is similar to what he saw in the dotcom era, a time when many companies went out of business quickly.

"It had bubbles and I felt the same way with blockchain," Wozniak said while speaking at a NEX technology conference in New York.

Yeah, I would also like to see the link or the source of the news.

For me Steve W. is somewhat on the middle. Although he claimed that he had been scam by someone when he trade his bitcoin thru paypal, but he keeps a quiet and distance himself from crypto discussions.

I don't know where he's coming from in terms of blockchain though, its the technology that empowered bitcoin and other crypto, how will it bubble them similar to dotcom? Blockchain will remain Blockchain in my opinion, as opposed to dotcom companies wherein nothing is reinvented, it was a boom that everyone took advantage off but with no concrete output was even made.
7896  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Will Hit New Highs - ETF Date August 10th on: July 13, 2018, 10:12:19 PM
We have Bitcoin testing its bottom for the third time, Coinbase adding Custody, South Korea flipping for the 10th time allowing and regulating cryptocurrencies, and the $4 billion dollar EOS raise finally finishing its Ethereum dump on the marketplace. Bitcoin’s next run will go further and happen quicker than people realize.

In the news, we have Europe’s largest trader of exchange-traded funds is moving into crypto and the CBOE applying for a Bitcoin ETF again. August 10th is the date to watch for the approval or disapproval of the ETF. Even if it gets rejected like the other times, it will provide clarity as to what is needed to approve one.

We discuss the latest news and give our insights as a mix of traders from firms such as JP Morgan. Give the latest episode a listen!

I doubt that SEC will approved any bitcoin or crypto related for now. They already said that the market's volatility causes them concern hence Winklevoss application is denied the first time and subsequent applications as well.

As for Europe's largest trader moving into crypto? Remains to be seen. This news is very welcoming indeed, but it doesn't have the enough push to suddenly make investors renewed their interest on the market. Actually, with the current sentiments, I can't think of any positive news that will sway the attitude of investors to pour their money on the struggling market right now.
7897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN won't die, period. on: July 13, 2018, 09:33:12 PM
The one who says bitcoin is dead is probably the one who buy bitcoin in december. They need to vent their frustration because of their loss.Bitcoin is the number one crypto and in the lead of everything regarding cryptobusiness.

Or the one who wanted to buy bitcoin at a cheap price that's why they spread lies and fears amongst newbie investors. Definitely bitcoin won't die because its already starting to conquer the world and its slowly gaining wider acceptance although there is a lot of resistance from government and central banks around the world.

Bitcoin is still in its early stage, so it won't simply die because it has gain a lot of support. Its been on the top of the food chain and not even a single alt coins so far has topple it although there's were some attempts, (ETH, Ripple and BCH). So don't believed if you read news saying that bitcoin will die or dying. Its very resilient and survived a lot of test in its young career.
7898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Regulations For Cryptocurrency? on: July 10, 2018, 12:20:56 PM
Hello, would love to get your opinion on this topic. Do you think there would be more regulations regarding cryptocurrency by the Government? Both now and the future? Let’s say bitcoin price rises to $100,000 per bitcoin, Do you think the government would actually let it be and function on its own without constant regulations? Well, personally I think we would see more regulations from the government down the line to a 1 Trillion Dollars total market cap and above. But I’m positive such regulations won’t hamper on the further growth and advancement of cryptocurrency. So tell me, what do you think?

Definitely more regulations will be coming our way. And with the G20 meeting for the third time coming and with crypto regulations on top of their agenda, I'm sure that there will be a lot of debates and eventually government will have to put up their own regulations.

But I'm sure that it wouldn't have a long term effect on the price though, we might see the price suffers a little but in the long run if this regulations becomes effective and governments satisfied, crypto will flourished in the next decade or so.
7899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Converting 1 BTC to 100 BTC on: July 10, 2018, 11:45:31 AM
Is it really possible ? I heard a youtuber making video on it by using bitmex.... is it really a good option to trade on bitmex using 100x leverage? Seeing the risk/reward ratio it looks tempting but the risk looks far more haunting

I think its doable, its a possible of extreme luck and trading experience. So its really risky and maybe just a couple of traders who can pull this off, but for ordinary traders like most of us here, maybe we will be emotional if we see our bitcoins growing and in the long end, we might ended losing everything.

I know its really tempting, but again the risk is there and you need to be sharp focus and doesn't make a single mistakes along the way. And you can only do that if you have the needed experience. So don't try to attempt and replicate them. Might be better to take baby steps and see how it goes for you.
7900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sheldon Adelson - The Gambling emperor featured in Forbes billionaire's list on: July 10, 2018, 04:20:19 AM
Wow this is an interesting share someone from gambling industry making it to to Forbes rich list is a huge achievement and considering it's related to gambling this is an added incentive for me to even gamble more, who knows someday one of us a gambler makes it to Forbes list. I really need to read about this guy and considering he's 21st shows how good he's been doing.

Lol mate, you have to understand that Sheldon Adelson build a empire, meaning he is a entrepreneur and didn't get that much money from playing or gambling. That's different. He has work hard to get to that list because I read some biography of him online few years ago and tells that it was like a cinderella, rags to riches story.

He became a casino magnate by selling COMDEX or share of it if I'm not mistaken and build Venetian and that's how he made a lot of money. But taking risk (which we are all familiar) stick to the plan and with some luck multiple and open another casino in Macau which we all know is Asia's gambling capital.

So from his viewpoint, online gambling is a big threat for his business, because we all know that it is slowly creeping in and garnering a lot of attention lately and it might take a huge chunk of money from traditional, land based casino's in general, which he all gets his money from.
