Just keeep an eye on the number of active masternodes to know what long time holders think about the rebrand  Obviously I've been sold a bunch of coins recently, it's understandably taking a while to organize but these will all go in to MNs, I also know that a whale has sold a lot of his MNs recently due to a bad luck steak of gambling, so the betting company has been most likely selling these off at market price unless it has the foresight to be setting up MNs itself which is probably unlikely, therefor quite a bit of the price movement and MN count may not have been anything to with the name change or sentiment about the future prospects of the coin. I haven't had time to keep up with the forum and all the output on it so much recently, if anything was addressed to me there then I may have missed it. Thanks for the status update Otoh. There are many people here who really appreciate your ongoing support. speak for yourself. everything costs twice as much now  Well....we could debate the merits (or otherwise) of Otoh's wall ad nauseum I suspect. Bottom line is the price didn't completely collapse which is beneficial for stability. If Otoh hadn't had the 0.01 wall on Bitfinex a whole lot of MNs would have been unloaded once the price breached 0.01 and started heading down into the .009 and below territory. Then it would have snowballed and there'd be far more angst and chaos as a result. I think what Otoh's done has kept things more stable which is ultimately good for DASH and good for for all investors. (can't reply again, off to a meeting) Otoh wall taken out.
All if not most of otohs coins are on finex and not cryptsy anyway. Long live Dash. I get the argument My Farm is making, but I think trademarking is just such a small piece of the puzzle. Some got sold in to my wall which is on Finex still, the whale gambler lost approx 28,000 DRK last night so this is completely consistent with the gambling site dumping those coins, I don't believe that it reflects on the coins prospects at all, but please feel free to sell some more in to my (and other's) walls if you wish. |

There is no need to regenerate new key. Just deposit fresh 1K, wait for 15 conf and do "masternode start". But if you really want to change masternodeprivkey you need to update it on both sides - local and remote.
UdjinM6 or anyone else, small question, to re-activate does the 1k to the wallet have to be replenished back to exactly the same address or will any address do? Thanks. Same address, or you'll need to change the config file. |

As has been said, I believe that this change will be for the best, after my wall was sold in to completely there were no walls at all for a considerable period of time during this controversy, I think that was some good free market price discovery of where today's natural floor would be in difficult conditions, the coins that were sold to me are now effectively removed from the open market and will join the masternode network in strengthening the coin, my present wall is 100 BTC @ 0.01 on Finex if anyone would like to exit a large position, it won't be removed or lowered, there's also 30 BTC worth of bids on Cryptsy at the same price.
Is the wall still in place or is the current rise in price subject to that wall? The wall is still in place, as are the 30 BTC bids on Cryptsy, they are relatively minor backstops now. Edit: sounds like I should take a look at the current price, sounds promising, I haven't for a couple of hours or so. |

oooh! A CNY pair  The significance is that BTER have enabled DRK, after their hack. is there any more info on this ?! Bter is all good and working ? Seems to be, my CNY balance is intact and trades are happening, haven't tried any DRK or other withdrawals as yet, but I expect that we'd've have heard if say the earlier allowed ones like NXT weren't going though OK |

However, it is likely that Darkcoin will require a strategy for rebranding and market positioning once it becomes an established payment network with the ability to rotate into high volume mass market retail merchant use.
All the publicity about 'Dark' being dark is basically free publicity which has benefited the publications and DRK. But it is about time to move on. I agree and loved the dark horse vibe, it got us where we are now, but every non crypto person that I mentioned darkcoin to was like Eww! Dark + Internets = Yuk! |

My masternode count shows 2092 masternodes. So we lost a bit more than 200 nodes.
But consider that it is much easier to close one than open a new one.
After redistributing a lot of coins it will take a bit longer until the new nodes are online again.
Maybe otoh can say something if he has set up new ones.
According to https://drk.mn/masternodes.html we have 2323 active masternodes, so we did not lose 200... I added 15 today, but they were from coins that I bought last week, I will be putting at least another 31 live later this week which came from from the dump in to my wall, some other buying plus cancelling any asks that I had up on the exchanges, there will also be a few more next week most likely - approx 4 or 5 if the price stays low. |

Are you kidding? Good discovery of natural floor? There were no walls for just one hour (which is barely enough for anyone not constantly monitoring the market to react) and in this brief time span the price was collapsing right until new walls were introduced. The price was on the rise when I put the wall in at 0.01 and I think that it was well over one hour when there were no walls, anyway one hour is plenty of time to find the current lowest level I believe, TBH if I didn't put a wall in at 0.01 then I doubt it would make much difference now, the price over reacted to the news, but the walls are quite small compared to previously and don't have much of an impact on the price - they just follow it. |
