801  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallets that work with Smartphones? on: January 17, 2023, 07:24:13 PM
Regarding table, I am still thinking how to add basic information and still make everything easy to understand, I think you helped me last time with hardware wallet secure element table Wink
Oh lord, I knew this was coming Cheesy
  • n0nce provided an example the other day and I also made one based on the other table that you mentioned, but I don't think it's good enough for what you're trying to achieve here [unless you're fine with having a very wide table (after adding the other parts)]
    - IMO, it'd be better to list them in a spreadsheet [Google Sheets], then simply take a screenshot and post it here... What do you think?

802  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [2023-01-12] Binance says it plans to expand hiring by as much as 30% in 2023... on: January 17, 2023, 04:49:36 PM
That's weird.  If you work for a finance company in a country where the regulators have said that company aren't allowed to operate, doesn't that put you in a rather difficult situation?
Normally, it should, but they're quite creative in finding different workarounds [e.g. last time I checked, they were looking to acquire a Filipino firm with a VASP license, as a workaround to a three-year moratorium on issuing that specific license].

i'm honestly wondering how they have 8000 employees,
Apparently, "7,166 of their employees" are on LinkedIn, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of those profiles are fake!

I wonder where these employees will work,
You can refer to their "1,696 job openings" on LinkedIn [that's roughly a 21% expansion (based on having 8000 employees)].

Make sure you can "sign a message [e.g. refer to above comments]" with it, or else it might not be that useful for "recovering your account" in the future!
805  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ads might drain your wallets on: January 16, 2023, 09:47:55 AM
well here is another victim that shows even an experienced person sometimes makes mistakes
The main issue with a lot of these so-called "experienced" influencers is the fact that most of them, don't even know the basics...

  • Mistake #1
    • Set up his/her hardware wallet in a way that it acts as a hot wallet [source]
      - Not sure if he/she imported an existing wallet to the hardware wallet or imported his/her seeds into another platform, but you should always generate fresh seeds when you're going to set up your HW for the first time and refrain from using them in other platforms!
  • Mistake #2
    • Thinking that only a new HW can protect his/her assets  [source]
      - All he/she really needed was to reset the device and generate fresh seeds (then move everything there)!
  • Mistake #3
    • Click on a Google ad [subject of this thread]
      - They pretend to care while using automated systems to filter their ads (in other words, they're not going to do anything unless someone reports those ads)!
806  Local / Pilipinas / Re: May Cold Key Card holder ba dito?

807  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallets that work with Smartphones? on: January 14, 2023, 08:18:25 PM
@dkbit98
Found two more:
- You can update their firmware through both the "web and mobile" routes.

  • SecuX V20 - Bluetooth [mobile and computer connections], USB Type-C [computer connection]
  • SecuX W20 - Bluetooth [mobile and computer connections], USB Micro-B [computer connection]
808  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Exodus wallet, Latest PC version 23.1.12. Bug or issue with my device? on: January 14, 2023, 03:50:51 PM
https://i.imgur.com/a1gc8C3.png

Could this be a bug or an issue with my device?

Anyone with exodus wallet PC version, please help me confirm if the Qr code option of scanning from camera works or not.
Just finished updating to the latest version, but didn't face any issues while using my webcam, so it must be from your side:
Note: I scanned a QR Code, but I chose not to include it in the following examples!

Have you tried updating your webcam driver? There could also be some conflicts between other programs that use that same webcam.
809  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Safepal hardware wallet review and opinions on: January 14, 2023, 11:06:44 AM
if the new S2 hardware wallet were to come out, what would you like to find new and different from the S1?
Hardware-wise:
Note: I wasn't referring to the following things in my previous post.

  • Removable battery with a higher capacity [refer to "Passport Batch 2"].
  • Larger screen [IIRC, their plan was to do the exact opposite] with a matte finish in the front.

I also find the way in which messages are signed well done,
Am I correct in assuming that you were referring to how transactions are signed, as opposed to signing a message to prove ownership of an address [AFAIK, it doesn't have this kind of feature]?
810  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Market Place for Multi Vendors on: January 14, 2023, 06:21:35 AM
NO ONE KNOWS THE DETAILS
If you're implying that your website is impenetrable to hackers, then it's safe to say that such a thing doesn't exist [in general] and while we're at it, I'd like to divert your attention to "seoincorporation's concern" with regard to the way you're planning to store funds [nothing about that awful platform represents safety and security]!
811  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Market Place for Multi Vendors on: January 13, 2023, 08:03:55 PM
@bitcoinbayshop
I had a quick glance at some of the settings for the vendors and as it stands, anybody that knows their login details can easily drain their wallets [you might want to add 2FA (preferably not through SMS or email)]!

I also noticed we can literally add anything as our address: Screenshot
812  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [2023-01-12] Binance says it plans to expand hiring by as much as 30% in 2023... on: January 13, 2023, 06:18:27 PM
Binance are hiring more people and Coinbase, also one of the biggest Crypto Exchanges are slashing almost a fifth of it's workforce.
At the moment, the current situation that they're in seems too good to be true, and despite being the largest exchange by trading volume, I'm afraid they're too big now to take a few wrong steps... There was also a mention of "not being super efficient" while planning to hire more staff [a bit strange and I think CZ is being too optimistic].
813  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Safepal hardware wallet review and opinions on: January 13, 2023, 11:25:23 AM
i think they are not going to create a new S2 for the moment and will focus on S1 but in my opinion they are doing it in the wrong way
Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing an improved version of the S1, provided that they alter the things that actually matter [in other words, the opposite of what they've more or less done so far].

and currently, the newest safepal doesn't use a mini USB port, but has been upgraded to USB-C.
After reading ajiz138's post, I think they must've changed it prior to updating their logo:

I don't know about comparisons with other hardware, it's just that I use both SafePal and other hardware.
The latter part doesn't seem right...
814  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Stax (Ledger's latest hardware wallet) on: January 13, 2023, 09:49:47 AM
Ledger Stax is using magnets, that can be used for connecting multiple devices,
And speaking of magnets, I was wondering if they could damage some of the internal components in the long run [I'm getting mixed results/answers from Google/Youtube and AFAIK, they (Ledger) haven't mentioned what kind of magnets are being used or how strong they are]?
815  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] DefiDive – A lightweight crypto price, news and information terminal on: January 11, 2023, 02:13:37 PM
@Seal
It looks like there's a minor bug in the news tab that shows duplicate results under different sources: Screenshot

BTW, I just noticed the switch button in the conversion rate window [part of the "September" update], doesn't have any functions attached to it.
816  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: First Exchange to Bite the Dust in 2023, Juno on: January 11, 2023, 10:56:08 AM
For example, since the FTX saga, they haven't listed that many exchanges that have either shutdown or gone bankrupt such as Blockfi
I don't think BlockFi was ever part of their exchange list [I randomly checked the "archives" as well] and that probably explains why it's missing in their "Exchange Graveyard" list.
- The only list that currently has their name is "Inactive Crypto Projects (Wallets section)".

Small update:

Their new crypto partner is "Zero Hash", but it'll take a few weeks to restore operations!
817  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BUY ROLEX WITH CRYPTO on: January 10, 2023, 07:55:50 PM
We started this business last year 2022.
May I know what made you change your "adult platform" into one that sells pre-owned watches [quite strange]?!

We Currently sold 45 Rolex So far.
Can you back this up with something?
- I already tried to look for reviews, but I had no luck finding a real one!
818  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't be fool! on: January 10, 2023, 03:07:15 PM
Some people believe Bitcoin is dead,
And here's a link to "Bitcoin Obituaries" that shows it has died 469 times so far Cheesy

You can travel anywhere in the world with just 12 words stored in your brain.
You have a point, but I prefer not to give that kind of idea to beginners [I wouldn't put that kind of faith in something that could experience a temporary or permanent loss of memory due to various reasons]!
- A "metal seed storage" device would be significantly better than storing those phrases in our brains.
819  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: AirGap wallet- Self custody made simple and secure - Protect your crypto offline on: January 09, 2023, 12:28:00 PM
The starter kit comes at a very attractive price, but if I were you, I would've sent a sample to "Jameson Lopp" for performing various stress tests and publishing the results [might come in handy in attracting customers]: Metal Bitcoin Seed Storage Reviews
820  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iran And Bitcoin Adoption on: January 09, 2023, 11:09:45 AM
You'd be surprised how many of such people supposedly exist. I know a guy who used to say that his dad works in the Parliament, I recently saw his dad and while we were talking it turned out he is a taxi driver who works in the same street/area as the Parliament Cheesy

Although existence of a government owned mining farm is not unlikely but I haven't seen anything reliable.
I probably don't know all of the details for that deal, but you make a valid point [I should've taken it with a grain of salt] Smiley

There are not Chinese (etc.) mining farms in Iran. There are Iranian companies involved in mining that have sold some shares to investors from other countries including China.
I thought there might still be a few left [e.g. an old video from RHY (the car in the background has an Iranian plate number) or Lubian building a mining farm in there], but it appears that I was wrong.
