8141  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining, profitable or not? on: October 18, 2014, 07:18:57 AM
Cloud mining is good and bad.  i like the hassle free mining and not worrying about electrical costs.  however, i do not like that someone else controls my miner and can change TOS or the status quo at the drop of a hat.  unless you are going to buy some serious Th/s i would recommend just buying the coin at current price levels.
Even if you buy TH/s of hash rates, you will not have ROI. Although you don't have to worry about electrical cost, the maintenance fees and price per GH is ridiculously high. Don't even think about mining unless you buy a lot of ASIC (not preordering)  and have nearly free electrical cost. Cloud mining will not be profitable with the increasing difficulty and maintenance fees.
8142  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e code question on: October 18, 2014, 07:15:11 AM
Hi,

I have 6.9 USD on btc-e.com and I want back bitcoins, but this is not possible on this site.
Anyway, I want to withdrawal and I found option BTC-e CODE.

How this option works?
Can I redemt code for bitcoins? And where I can do this?  Huh

Thanx
The code just generates a voucher code with the money you specify and allows another user to redeem them if they have the code. Just exchange them back to BTC and withdraw them to your own wallet address. The minimum withdrawal for BTC is only 0.002 which you can easily get more than that.
8143  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: unconfirmed transactions on: October 18, 2014, 07:12:44 AM
Fees    0.00 BTC
this one tell everything Cheesy that's why your tx is not confirmed till now
network will forget this tx and your bitcoin will be refunded into your address
but this step need some days, if you lucky, it will happen in 2-3 days (my experience), but i can takes a week too
just pray for the best Cheesy
so around which time will it be confirmed?
and i put a really small fee like 0.000001 but i don't see it anymore
minimum fee recommended is 0.0001 BTC
The amount of time needed for the transaction to be dropped depends on the client you use. Some broadcast it forever while some drop it after a while. It will eventually be confirmed if it is broadcasted for a long time but it does take a lot of time. Minimum fee is 0.0001 unless the input is old enough plus the input and output is at least 0.01 and above.
8144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block chain size/storage and slow downloads for new users on: October 18, 2014, 07:07:55 AM
I'am not experienced in those stuff , but if I use Bitcoin Core (with sync) & Multibit (without) , what would be the difference exactly ?  Roll Eyes
Bitcoin core downloads the entire blockchain and allows you to use features like BitcoinRPC but Multibit connects to their server for the blockchain and checks your balance there and don't allow RPC features. You have to trust MultiBit servers to have valid information for your wallets. Bitcoin Core does not need to have trust since it finds the longest valid chain from a couple of nodes.
8145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Sync error on: October 18, 2014, 07:02:27 AM
How much ram do you have? Whats your system specs? 32bits or 64bits. bad_alloc means that you do not have enough memory available. What's your dbcache value?
8146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin transaction not confirmed after 19 hours on: October 18, 2014, 06:55:14 AM
It depends on the pool's policy, if they decide to discard transaction with no fees, your transaction will not be confirmed. The older and bigger amount your coins is, the more priority the transaction gets. I used to do this all the time but it does take a lot of time to do so. Usually, I see Bitminter confirming my unconfirmed no fee transaction. I guess their fee policy isn't strict.
8147  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dumb Question..... on: October 18, 2014, 06:42:09 AM
Just import your wallet into offline wallet like multibit or electrum or something  Tongue

Is that safe to do sir?

If your computer is free of malware, then the action of exporting private keys from blockchain.info and importing them in Multibit or Electrum are safe.
If any of the computers you used to access blockchain.info have malware, you would have exposed your backup copy and password to the attacker, not just on the computer you are preparing to import to. MultiBit and electrum are both opensourced which means you could easily verify the source or build it from the source.
8148  Other / Meta / Re: Making an account with real email on: October 18, 2014, 06:38:55 AM
so , I don't have other emails and I'am lazy to create one.
It would be a problem if I create another bitcointalk account with fake email ? or dosen't matter for anything ? like Recovery in case hacked or something ? any other informations can be used ?

thank you
You cannot easily reset password and if someone gets your email, they can reset the password and gain access to your account. If someone send sensitive information on the PMs, Bitcointalk automatically sends a reply of your PM to your email and the person who have access to the email can see the information. Just use a temporary email which will be deleted after an hour and will not give others the same email. If you forget your password, contact theymos and he MAY reset the password for you.
8149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins missing on: October 18, 2014, 03:05:16 AM
Still nothing. Starting to get really worried. Does 0 remaining hint that the funds have been stolen and sent elsewhere or is that normal?
The coins have been moved after 3 hours which means that the system would most likely have been notified about your deposit and moved them to their own wallet. I believe you have entered a phishing website or their system have issues. Try contacting their support. As onion links are complicated, you may have entered a fake silk road website. Have you try to recheck your address on silkroad? There are viruses which changes your clipboard Bitcoin address to their own.
8150  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How does sig campaigns work exactly? on: October 18, 2014, 03:01:18 AM
???hi everybody i am here with yet another one of my newbies questions. Huh
i thank you all for responding to me  Roll Eyes

well whenever someone asks how to get some BTC there is this common answer to joins some sig. camp.
so How exactly does signature campaigns work?
you just put the link they give you inside you sig. area and do your usual postings?
or
you have to post about them, i mean like advertising?
They make a signature design and ask you to put into your signature area. You have to post a number of post which are constructive in order to recieve payouts. When people browse through threads, they are likely to spend more time looking at the more constructive post and usually look at the signature too. This is a good method to introduce useful post to the community while discouraging post spammers. Compared to forum advertising which cost a few BTC and only displays your ad in rotation for one week, you can use 30BTC for 200++ people to put their signature on their signature space for one month and post constructively which is more cost effective. Since this ad change applies to every single post, those browsing older threads would see the signature also.
8151  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Online or Desktop Wallet? on: October 18, 2014, 12:37:45 AM
I'm new into crypto currency and was wondering which wallet I should use in terms of security.

I prefer desktop wallet then online, but make sure you have some anti-virus and scan if it has trojan...
Anti Virus does not guarantee that you do not get infected by trojan or other virus. There are plenty of fully undetectable viruses which means they cannot be detected. The best method is to verify and build the wallet yourself from source, I wouldn't download the wallet if its not open sourced.
8152  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to anonymize bitcoin transactions? on: October 17, 2014, 10:54:04 AM
If you want to anonymize large amount of bitcoin transactions

I recommend https://bitmixer.io/

So it will make harder for someone to track the transactions

someone else has already used these Mixers Huh

From the feedback I found in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=415396.80, the answer is a "yes". Smiley
They are usually safe, unless the mixer is new. They can be easily traced if you do not set any delay. Use a new address for every transaction and do not post the address on the internet, your identity can be linked if you do so. Using tor can also anonymize your connections.
8153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blocks are still taking way too long. on: October 17, 2014, 10:49:22 AM
If you are not patient, you can go to other altcoins having quick confirmation, such as NXt, doge etc.

NXT and doge is still way way behind bitcoin. Not gonna do that.
I agree with this fully. We often see cryptocoins on news but usually, the one getting the media's attention is Bitcoin. Alt coin is usually more volatile in price than Bitcoin. Unless there is a service which immediately exchanges your coins to fiat or Bitcoin without losing the value if the market crash, I don't see why merchants who are using Bitpay would switch to alt coins. Bitpay already accepts instant payment without confirmation for most cases.
8154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Problems with synching on: October 17, 2014, 09:59:12 AM
If you have no need for Bitcoin core, not using the features available only in Bitcoin core, not planning to run a full node for long periods of time, try lightweight, SPV wallets. They offer basic features, sending and receiving Bitcoins, Multibit and electrum are one of them. If you have a need for Bitcoin core, use torrent to download the bootstrap and place the blocks to the data folder.
8155  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wich possibilities are here to earn some btc in this forum? on: October 17, 2014, 09:51:08 AM
Look around the forum for giveaways, lend your BTC to trusted member for small interest, learn some coding and help users to code things, signature campaigns and perhaps sell exotic items available in your country. Signature campaign is recommended for those who can really contribute actively, lending BTC to people does have significant risk, just take note to request collateral and avoid lending to low rank people.
8156  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: mining on: October 17, 2014, 09:44:08 AM
GPU mining is a history since last year October, a single USB miner can easily be faster than a world fastest GPU while consuming less power and emitting less heat. My advice is, sell those GPUs and either save them or spend them on BTC. Try as much as possible, don't buy ASICS, unless they are proven and will ship on time or you have very cheap/free electrical rates.
8157  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: how can mining still be profitable even for the big farms on: October 17, 2014, 09:39:52 AM
The real people who get the most profit is the ASIC manufacturer. They "test" their customer's orders and profit themselves. Most of the big farms are hosted in datacenter with low electrical cost and good cooling. They can easily buy some used raspberry pi as a controller, or some of the ASIC even come with a controller.
8158  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is it possible to create your own DESIRED address? on: October 16, 2014, 02:30:30 PM
Please be aware that if you receive a nice public address from someone else, he or she can also access the funds stored at this address!
Collision is HIGHLY unlikely. In order for a collision to happen, it would take a super computer, faster than all the computers in the world combined to generate one such address in a million years. Even if you are looking for a vanity that is more than 6 letters, it is already very hard.
8159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Online or Desktop Wallet? on: October 16, 2014, 01:50:29 PM
It really depends on your definition of online wallets. If the website have full control of your BTC (coinbase, online exchanges), you should try to minimize the use. If the website do not have control over any of your BTC (Blockchain.info), you have lesser chance of losing your BTC. Try to keep a large portion of BTC in a cold storage, small portion of it on online and desktop wallet as they usually will have lesser security.
8160  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game |1% Edge | PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: October 16, 2014, 06:23:06 AM
...
We're stuck between making it as easy as possible for new players to get started on the site (easy to make an account, free dust from the faucet) and making it hard for spammers/bots to abuse the system. I don't see a way of satisfying both of these requirements without human intervention (ie. intelligent mods).

WE ?  Roll Eyes

WE? who are the we that you're referring to with? i can only see is you lol

We, as in people who would like to provide a faucet on a site but can't find a way of doing so without it being botted or abused in other ways.

I used to run a couple of dice sites. I would have liked to have been able to automatically give new users a few bits to play with, but couldn't see how to do it reasonably.
Seperate the play money from actual BTC, crediting users 10-100 play money and allow them to test the site. If they like the features, they will naturally deposit bitcoin. This however, don't attract as much people as the one who credit real BTC and allow them to withdraw as they can test out withdrawal feature without risking any BTC.
