841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: September 12, 2014, 06:44:38 PM
For everyone else, please explain your procedure for filing, what points you hit on, did they refute you with ToS, etc. I know I'd be happy to donate for that information, and im sure other people in the same situation would to.

Just file a small claim online with Money Claim. (https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/web/mcol/welcome)  Alpha will have 14 days to respond or you will be awarded a summary judgement against them. They may  jerk you around by sending a copy and paste defence about their T&Cs but with only 12 working days left in Q3, that argument is looking pretty dead in the water. They seem to be just ignoring people now or maybe they are no longer picking up mail from their abandoned office. I would get your claim in soon as I honestly don't think Alpha will be around much longer.

I wouldn't discuss the ins and outs of your claims on an open forum. Fiaz used to lurk here, no doubt Mubasher does too. PM each other and feel free to PM me if you wish. Best of luck
Just created an account at this site to attempt to file a claim against alpha-t but seemingly unable to complete the registration process.  Does it not allow individuals to signup with US-based residence?

843  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (1GH/S per Unit) on: September 11, 2014, 01:39:10 AM
One of the fairest overall summaries I've heard thus far on CryptX stock.  True enough, I knew at the time I was voting that this would shorten Peta's life and also agree with Netwerked's conclusion that pretty much any hardware manufacturer and % dividend reinvestment would've only prolonged the inevitable.  Although that inevitable could've been quite sometime if we could reverse the clock to when CryptX "loaned" us the money for the huge not so great last batch of hardware.  Oh well, at least it will disappear soon and no more money will be lost to it.

This asset was pretty much doomed from the start in retrospect but then again, what mining asset isn't nowadays?
844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: September 10, 2014, 11:40:18 PM
if i recieve a 25 mh/s miner im going to be upset

Well, 25mh > 0mh. Lol.

Seriously though, they're coming down to the wire. 2ish weeks to start shipping. This sure is a nail-biter. Unlike last time, though, they're providing frequent updates, showing lots of pics of things being tested and assembled, and they've showcased their inventory of raw materials and parts ...
Unfortunately there is no chance they will be shipping in two weeks if they haven't even tapped out the asic's yet.  Best case scenario we are looking at middle if not end of next month and that's assuming they don't find anything wrong with their board design once they finally get the chips in hand.  (assuming there even are any chips, which I'm really starting to doubt at this point)
845  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group buy] GRIDSEED 5 chip USB Dual Miner with shares over Cryptostocks.com on: September 10, 2014, 10:35:03 PM
And another CS asset bites the proverbial dust.  Latest post on hashigh from crypto::stocks:

(.)(.) business activities are further paralyzed (.)(.)
Dear Investors!

First, we have to apologize for the long silence. We try to close currently all open construction sites. By the departure of some key team members, we are sitting on a pile of broken glass, that needs to be cleaned up now.

Here our problems in detail:

There are no current mining activities, because we cannot achieve any more profits here. This was due to the rent for the rooms in which the pools were located and the high price of electricity. The GAWminers worked for some time, but we had problems with the chinese power supplies. In addition we are concerned about the orders at Flowertech and Alphatec. The devices are paid, but not delivered! After announcements of these companies, the delivery of the hardware is delayed more than two months. According to our calculations, these devices will never be profitable.
The remaining Gridseed Miner are only a few dollars worth and, due to the negative trends of Scrypt currencies no longer be operated.
Our autotrading software is no longer active, as the responsible developer is no longer in the team. Therefore, we have no access to the program any more.
The import / export activities have been completely stopped, because the responsible persons are no longer in the team and it has not yet succeeded in establishing new good contacts.
The brothel-coin was discontinued for ethical reasons. This has turned out to be a big mistake, because this is going now made by others without HashHigh.
For new ideas and projects there's a lack in the necessary manpower.
The capital base is very thin. Currently the remaining team members can no longer be paid.

The last mining revenues generated we pour out as dividends. The way things are this will be the final dividend for a longer time.

Finally is to say that we enter into a long tunnel and probably for a long time no light at the end of the tunnel is visible. HashHigh stands at the crossroads. It looks damned badly.

The remaining HashHigh team
(H)(H)

*Think I'm completely giving up on CS stocks as soon as I dump what few remaining shares I have.  They are pretty much nothing but scams.
846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RDD] Reddcoin - The Social Currency- [PoSV] Official Release v1.3.1.2 on: September 10, 2014, 10:25:06 PM
Happy to hear you sorted out your problem.

I got my first stake today I received 174.00333526 RDD reward, Keep those nodes open!
1.) Where you staking 24/7?
2.) approx. # of day's until you received your first reward after enabling?

Ya I stake 24/7 on my other PC and it was about 5-6 days after my first deposit ~170 000 coins were staked for 174 redd reward. My average weight is 55321 and total weight is 4924348
Nice.  Not too shabby really.  I've been staking just under that for the past couple of days.  Looking forward to seeing what my first payout is Smiley

Good lord this coin doesn't want to seem to take too massive a dip ever.  Have been trying to pick up another coin 'on the cheap' but doesn't look like my order will be filling anytime soon :p

aehm, any1 have the guts to arbitrage from cryptsy?  Cheesy

hell no. You'll never get them out of cryptsy.
Absolutely hell no.  Cryptsy just has far too many issues with depositing and withdrawing funds on the vast majority of their coins.  Particularly with BTCD, I'm usually lucky if my BTCD withdrawal's even get processed on the same day (and we are talking amounts < 1BTCD)
850  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] SCRYPT 4 GH/s hosted scrypt mining project by CRYPTX on: September 08, 2014, 07:47:15 PM
One Question. Was the PETA Project not same fucked up till it got the turnaround? I mean it will take 6-12 months to get to IPO Share prices back but isnt it possible? If we reinvest everything every week into new hashlets and we have a bit luck with mining profibility ? Then also a bit luck with BTC prices in the next 12 months?

I don't understand how people can give up and don't try to make the best out of the worst. I think that crypt x is listening to us the first time is a good first move.

In my opinion, PETA was being bled dry from the start. I don't think it ever had a turnaround. If you're referring to the May/June IPO, investors simply didn't understand what the exploding network hash rate, uncompetitive hosting fees and repayment for the loan really meant.

Given the past history, there's no chance that a new IPO by cryptx will be met warmly. I don't think there's any chance for SCRYPT to return to IPO prices.
There is about 0 probability of this happening.  I just finished dumping my shares for ~73% loss and truth be known I consider myself lucky to have gotten back 27% on what I put in.  Both ScryptX and Petamine where obviously designed with the 'long con' in mind.  Get out while you can is my recommendation.  Given CryptX's track record things will only continue to get worse.

Started downloading reddcoin-qt wallet earlier this evening and now only ~2 weeks away from sending my few test coins over to see about this PoSv situation.
852  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is this website fake!!! on: September 08, 2014, 06:46:19 AM
Absolutely bogus.  Never trust sites like this nor sites that claim to be something that they are not.  For example, there is a well known fishing e-mail going about that claims to be from blockchain.info asking you to reset your wallet password.  These sites are just phishing for either careless or unaware people.

There's alot of this kinda stuff around so be careful.

Also interested in testing a unit.  Have several old BFL's sitting around that I would be more than happy to post a video showing them running on your unit.
854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: September 07, 2014, 07:36:18 PM
johny08 : its basicly exactly the same, except there is no screen, no PSU,no wifi, no fancy brushed steel enclusure....

-_-

And most importantly...no ASIC chips!

Latest article on the sad state of affairs of alpha-t on CoinDesk:
"The Viper has seen several design changes over the course of its development arc, a process that has been both praised and decried by the mining community. CoinDesk will continue monitoring the Viper’s development and provide an update when a delivery date has been formally set."

source: http://www.coindesk.com/mining-roundup-new-tests-viper-look-inside-bitmains-bitcoin-factory/

According to the article Alpha indicated that they believe they will begin shipping units by the end of the month.  This, when they don't even have the first batch of chips on hand to test controller integration, etc.

At this point, I'm > 65% sure that the whole Alpha situation is a complete bust and that's being generous.

Likely Coindesk article title for October on Alpha-T:
"Alpha Technologies fails to deliver.  Filing for Bankruptcy, customers left in a lurch!"
855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Do People Believe Bitcoin Will Replace Fiat? on: September 07, 2014, 06:52:33 AM
Perhaps bitUSD will replace Bitcoin. bitUSD combines the convenience of crypto with the stability of the dollar.
Stability of the dollar?  Whose dollar exactly?  Certainly not the United States? :p
856  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Kuwait electricity on: September 07, 2014, 06:15:11 AM
Evaporative cooling works great in desert environments and is much more efficient than air conditioning. And most current mining gear doesn't need to be chilled to frigid temperatures to properly operate.

I live in Las Vegas and have had KNC Super Jupiter modules running all summer in my garage at temperatures well above 100f with absolutely no cooling other than a box fan to move the air. And I have recently added some S3s. Previously I was running BFL Singles and S1s in the garage but shut them down because of electricity cost.
Those are some pretty serious temperature extremes.   Frankly I'm a little surprised you didn't burn any of them out.  I've heard that the technique your mentioning is what they are using in over half a dozen warehouse farm's over in China with the evaporation cooling technique.
857  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: anyone using hashnest.com? on: September 07, 2014, 06:06:02 AM
i suscribed for 149 ghs with them.

Anyone using this service too?

It's funny I came across your thread right after attempting to login to my account only to discover that the SIM chip in my cell phone has gone south so I'm unable to 2FA :/

So yes, I have a few GHS on hashnest that I purchased a few days ago, but because of phone issue(s) I can't actually login and check to see how my investment is doing atm.

How long have you had the 149GHS and what kind of daily earnings are you currently getting?
858  Economy / Goods / Re: buy beef with bitcoins on: September 07, 2014, 05:51:38 AM
Next shipping dates Sept 2 and Sept 15,16. if anyone wants to get another order in.
I should have jerky available by October 5th. Any interest?
Thanks!
Paul A
Would probably be interested in a couple of smaller packages of beef jerky provided it was reasonably priced and I didn't get killed on shipping costs.

P.S.  Love the picture of the sunlight coming through the tree near the pond.  That's a beautiful looking place you have there and I bet the beef tastes mighty yummy to boot.
859  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Ready to mine, what do you think of my setup/safety? on: September 06, 2014, 06:28:32 AM
Not a shabby looking setup at all.  Just want to echo the concerns of others in this thread with regards to cat's though.  They seem particularly drawn to the magic money producing heat boxes for some reason.  No wonder the Egyptians worshiped cat's for thousands of years!  They know a good thing when they see it! Smiley

Oh yeah, and if you have kids, definitely electrical tape around the exposed hard-wire on the PSU.
860  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Pix of one of the largest Bitcoin mines on: September 06, 2014, 06:24:25 AM
Good lord.  I think I'm going to need to change my freaking shorts after taking a gander at all that deliciousness!  Really starting to look like China isn't wanting to be left behind on the Enterprise-Scale mining operations and with as many chip foundries and chip designers as that country has I wouldn't be at all surprised if > 50% of all the hash on the bitcoin network isn't contained within China's borders within 20-24 months.  (putting away tin-foil hat)
