Oh for fucks sake, watching this whole election is like watching the Labour Party here in Britain squabble amongst themselves over the most ridiculous bullshit and it seems to be a contest now of who can look the most crazy.
842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is wealth boring? on: August 14, 2015, 11:02:57 PM
When you have enough money for your life, new kind of problems starts to poppin around you. I ain't seen a millionaire living without problems.

Wealth always attracts trouble, especially socialites from what I've heard the moment you become wealthy everybody suddenly wants to be your friend and of course they're all a bunch of sychophants disguising their real intentions, must be pretty exhausting. Then of course there are communists and governments out there who think they have every right to steal that wealth just because you have it.

So they'll just go else where to buy a knife or use a different weapon...

*turns your comment into an example of how insane and murderous knife owners are and are just looking to go around stabbing people with them*
845  Other / Politics & Society / Re: In response to the violent murders IKEA will quit selling kitchen knives... on: August 12, 2015, 10:21:36 PM
This can't be real can it? They didn't actually do this?

"Maybe it is time to take guns away from them. Body cameras should become law of the land."

It is thinking like this - and a host of other stuff - that makes me want to get as far away from the US as soon as possible. I can't believe people are wanting and willing for our lives to be followed by cameras at every turn, all for the sake of "security" - which the powers that be are exploiting to the fullest and slowly ripping-away all freedoms.

Everyone is comfortable with the idea of 24/7 surveillance until they have it turned on them, it's that simple, I had this argument with someone recently people just don't think about how easily this kind of thing can be turned on them and they use the old "Well if I'm not doing anything wrong nothing will happen to me" bullshit, nah, that doesn't matter to people who have absolute power over others.

Holy shit, mushroom cloud? Is this actually true? Or is business insider just reporting something a social media site said without fact checking it?

Mushroom cloud. Indeed.

More convinced now, but to be honest, if I was in the city itself I wouldn't be taking any chances and get the fuck out of there lol, you just know any government not just China would cover this up as best they can.

Well that's a bit more sane, I do agree with people as an Anarchist though that simply removing peoples ability to go to certain areas is a bit dumb.
851  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Canada travel restrictions to terrorist hotspots on: August 12, 2015, 09:25:35 AM
What if there were Canadian Kurds and others travelling to the warzones specifically to fight ISIS? Bet he would suddenly start re-thinking his opposition then because he'd also be stopping any opposition from showing up to stop them too.

Forget the part about individual freedom, he just hasn't thought it through in the slightest, there are also American veterans who have gone back to Iraq to help the Kurds.
852  Other / Off-topic / Re: Windows 10: do not upgrade on: August 12, 2015, 09:21:21 AM
I never upgrade to a new windows version right away anyway, precisely because of these kind of problems, you also don't know how good it is until more experienced people have tried it for themselves. I think it must have been a good few years before I was dragged kicking and screaming into Windows 7 and that was because of DirectX and how unfriendly new games were to Windows XP.
853  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-08-11] Huobi CEO Aims To Influence Chinese Policymakers on Bitcoin on: August 12, 2015, 09:17:56 AM
I bet if he could show China and Russia how easy it would be to get Bitcoin past U.S sanctions they would be much more keen to at least look at the technology, the problem with these countries though is like the U.S they want a monopoly over their own currencies.
854  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Indian Air Force humiliates the RAF on: August 12, 2015, 07:41:53 AM
I'm surprised by this. Wish I could find more details, because the Typhoon is an excellent aircraft, better than the Russian ones. The data on the article clearly confirms this. You just need to look at the speed. The Typhoon is 20% faster, so the British pilots were always braking not to leave the Indians guys biting the dust.

Typhoon is a superior aircraft. No doubt about it. But the problem was that the RAF pilots lacked the skill to operate them. What is the point in having a $150 million fighter jet, if you don't know how to use them? The Brits need to increase their defense budget. The recent cuts have affected the long term survival of the armed forces.

The question isn't an increase in budget it's the allocation of it, as I said, we're wasting lots of money on these ridiculous projects that are hardly ever going to be used and we should be spending money instead of training except my point clearly went over some poeples' heads.
855  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sen. Bernie Sanders VS #blacklivesmatter on: August 11, 2015, 11:31:27 AM
I don't understand what the message is these people are trying to prove. Campaigning for more respect(?) to the black community is fine and dandy, but going about it by starting riots and hijacking events does not get people to join your cause. It just makes everyone involved look bad, and leaves a bad taste in the public's mouth.

Welcome to my fucking world, shit heads like that are hijacking everything, even the Anarchist movement, people need to grow some balls and kick these violent professional victims out.
856  Other / Off-topic / Re: My personal and very unexpected investment plan on: August 11, 2015, 10:37:14 AM
I've seen people doing this before, it's a really good idea, especially since you'd normally waste that money on cigarettes anyway, hope it works out for you.
857  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Indian Air Force humiliates the RAF on: August 10, 2015, 09:03:07 PM
No surprise here. Britain has been cutting the defense budget for many decades, to the point that its armed forces are barely capable of conducting warfare operations. It was not a Typhoon FGR4 vs SU-30MKI Flanker fight. By any measure, the Typhoon is a much better aircraft when compared to the Sukhoi MKI Flanker.

Do you know about these stupid 'super' carriers? They're basically giant aircraft carriers that we're likely never going to use in actual combat unless we somehow manage to piss off the Chinese and the Russians. I really think part of the reason the UK army is so shit right now is because they're spending stupid amounts of money on these projects in order to 'create' jobs to make the economic numbers look good. So instead of actually training skillful soldiers and pilots and getting up to date equipment that will actually be used they're pissing away taxpayer money on these giant projects that make no fucking tactical, strategic or economic sense.

Gotta love the neo-keynesian bullshit these guys pull.
858  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Video: New approach to fighting crime in New Orleans on: August 09, 2015, 10:27:39 AM
Ah yes, heard about this already, apparently the crime rates have been dropping by quite a lot, the 'skeptics' are the usual suspects who are utterly convinced that the government must do this job, even though they've been obviously fucking it up for years. The biggest problem we have is despite their supposed caring, they are extremely stubborn and arrogant when it comes to issues like this so until they're pushed to the absolute brink they won't admit that they need to try something different.

I expect every part of the world is going to have to end up like New Orleans before these politicans will finally admit something is wrong.
859  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Andy Burnham’s right:railway unity would get Britain back on track Andrew Martin on: August 09, 2015, 09:38:48 AM
Andy Burnham is a champagne socialist. Educated at Britain's finest university. Nationalising the railways would push up prices even more than when privatised and unions would be in control of the whole system. Private, not public, ownership is the best way forward.

Since privatisation, the railways actually cost the UK taxpayer more (in government subsidies) than when it was state owned so I can't see how it could push up the ticket prices any more than they are now.

A study in 2009 even showed that 70% of British people support re-nationalisation of the railways so it's obviously a popular choice, hence Burnham's support for it.

Think about it though, how are they going to pay for the lower prices? Simple answer is that they can't. I think in the UK at least transporation is being bid up to artificial highs just like the housing market because of how much these monopolies are being helped by the government through various programs.

This is the guardian, commenting on the labour party, nothing left to see here really guys, for those outside of the UK the guardian is a very left leaning newspaper they'll side with labour almost always.
