8401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the most likely to happen first? on: January 26, 2018, 10:16:42 PM
Well another Japanese exchange has been hacked and its said it bigger than Mt. Gox.

https://www.coindesk.com/coincheck-confirms-crypto-hack-loss-larger-than-mt-gox/?utm_content=buffer6920e&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

So I think the questions has been answered several times. Hacks on exchanges are like to happen first and the link that I've posted above its just another proof.

As far as crypto ban, still 50/50 to me. And those government can suddenly do a 360 U-turn and either accepts or ban bitcoin. The battle is still raging out there. Maybe at the end of the year, we will see what direction nations around the world would take on cryptos.

Blockchain hack? I seriously doubt it will happen.
8402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BITCONNECT...Scam? on: January 26, 2018, 09:41:38 PM
I don't know, but it was already exposed already as a scam before by some members here in the forum. But I'm sure that we wouldn't thought that initially and its too late because they just suddenly disappeared. But I saw one thread that they are re-appearing, so its really troublesome to hear that they are going back to scam more people.

It is a scam,
They were doing fine with the transaction fees made and etc they could payout but they blame the community, press and government for making the reputation bad so they decide to refund everybody with their investment but they refund at the price of $300++ / BCC upon doing that the price of BCC flew to $10 within minutes, probably they informed top promotors / VIP and all of them.dump those coins and eventually making the price went to $10 and I was unlucky I woke up after the dump and saw price of BCC at $10 so my investment of $580 went straight to $15 or so. So what can I do with those tokens just stake it 1.5BCC kinda a joke but overall a good learning experience, from now on I would not promote anymore lending platform and everyone who wants to invest into lending plaform do your due diligence... Getting in early is a good thing they may make u rich at the start when it's time to pull out, just pull out and you will never regret. 1 time experience is enough.

They have nothing to blame but themselves on the mess they have created. They are very trusted but just like you said, those who got in early made a good amount and exit in time. Really a "healthy" experience but it comes at a high cost.
8403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Effects of hacked Japanese exchange on market on: January 26, 2018, 07:55:55 PM
Today there was another dip in prices of a major part of cryptocurrencies. And around the same time a big Japanese exchange was hacked and 400 million dollars worth of NEM stolen. It's obvious this caused the dip in NEMs price, -9,50%, but did the same hack cause the dip of the entire cryptomarket? Within 6 hours the entire marketcap lost 50 billion dollars, it has to do something with the hack right?

Actually I was just about to open a thread about the hack, but you beat me to it.  Grin

Of course this will cause a uproar to the every volatile market again. As we can see the market is going red again. Too bad after we have just started recovery this kind of event happened.

I guess we should be expecting another bloodbath in the next couple of days. Although its just NEM that we have seen being lost here, but I'm sure that we should expect something worst here. Let's see how it goes in the next couple of days. Crossing my fingers.  Shocked
8404  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ICO investment Risk on: January 26, 2018, 07:22:11 PM
Every ico investment site is risky to invest cause we have no idea what will happen after a months , and unfortunately  there are some ico didn't succees . But we must trust the dev cause for sure dev will do everything to make the ICO successful ,just choose a trusted dev also so no worries.
We see that many ICO come daily and most all bounty is success. So I have one question. If ICO investment have fully risk then why people invest ICO and how ICO get success. Moreover how I find a trust dev?

For one you need to look at how are the devs behind the project because its one recipe of a successful ICO. Do your homework, research the dev team, do they have a LinkedIn account that you can look at and see what's their previous jobs or what what's the their latest accomplishments?

People takes risk. That's part of our life. That's why they invest on ICO because they want to get rich quick. Simple as that and they are willing to takes risk to reach their goal of becoming millionaires. The ICO could be the next Facebook or Google. If you understand what I'm saying.
8405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fever on: January 26, 2018, 05:54:58 PM
I guess a lot of people don’t have internet and most of them, surely, don’t know or even heard about bitcoin. But the people who have known and investing in the bitcoin are surely felling from it.

What they are feeling right now is not fever because of the increase in price, but are not worried because the price seems very unstable and we have been stalled in the $10K-$11K range. Smiley

There is no single person on earth who haven't heard of bitcoin.
Everyone is talking about it, it's all over the news, everyone is buying it, price is dramatically increasing.
It's like gold rush back in 1848.

So why aren't we calling this bitcoin rush?
You know, in 20 years from now it would be funny to say - yeah, i bought/mined bitcoin during bitcoin rush back in 2017 Cheesy

I have to disagree. For me, its a small percentage that people know bitcoin globally. Only its already a brand name, those who don't have access to internet or mobile phones doesn't know bitcoin or crypto for sure. We can call it a rush if you go out on the street and can talk to someone about bitcoin. In my place, I haven't seen or heard anyone asking me about bitcoin.
8406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin commission on: January 26, 2018, 02:08:41 PM
Hello everybody! I heard that soon the bitcoin commission will be lower, did anybody hear about it? It's true?

Yes, soon the high cost of transaction fee with be reduced. Its gonna be cheap, actually with Segwit address its already quite cheap already but when Lightning Network goes into effect, we will see drastic changes in terms of speed as well.

I suggest you read about Segwit and Lightning Network (LN) so that you will have a better idea on how this new scaling solution could potentially affect bitcoin's price in the next coming months.
8407  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What Did You do Wrong on: January 25, 2018, 11:58:36 PM
Here is a fun question for all of you who started in trading in crypto. I know this is a learning experience for all.
What do you wish you did or didn't do when you first started, trading, buying and selling?

What did you learn? that you should have done or not.
this could be fun

mine was traded too much of my BTC and should have held.
as I didn't know anything about trading at that time. now I know.
plus buying some coins at too high and wanting to just have it
now I am smarter, I wait wait till a dip and buy at a low point

now your turn

Well the basic mistakes of every newcomer in trading and investing, panic sell. I admit that I always panic sells when I saw the price of bitcoin going down. And I listen to too much FUD here before. Its really a hard lesson and very expensive as well.

But now, I already matured, I'm no longer affected by the waves of FUD around specially when the price is going down. I just laugh at it and I have the mindset to just hold bitcoin for long term.

Also same with you, buying coins at top price and then I was trap and the only way to get out is to sell and suffer a lost.  guess everyone really has to go through baby steps and learn everything from experience.
8408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Russia on: January 25, 2018, 11:33:23 PM
I know that Russia is one of the few countries that have an open policy towards cryptocurrency. You can recall Russia's support for ETH. Although Russia does not publicly support bitcoins, Russia does not prohibit it, which is a pretty good thing for the Putin government.

Do really know what are you saying here? Russia with Putin at the helm will ban everything that can disrupt their government, including bitcoin and crypto.

That's why they have been contracting as far as their official statement. You can't find anything substantially, they will say they will support this and that, which is total bullshit.

How about the bitcoin mining farm? Anyone heard about it lately? They have been reports that they will put up one, but where is it? They're just giving everyone a false hope.

And that's why they created their own coin, cryptorubble because they are not going to accept any crypto except their government-backed coin.
8409  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How Do You Secure Your profits? on: January 25, 2018, 10:28:38 PM
What are all your methods? you use to secure profits from your crypto? when markets are green and you take profits with you before the market goes down

Personally, if I reach my goal as to what price I'm expecting my coins to be, then I sold and take around 10% profit. I usually don't dump everything, just get what I wanted then hodl.

Before starting to trade, it would be good to set a specific target that you plan to meet so that in the case that you meet the target you will sell the bitcoins that you are having because if you try to get greedy and make more money you might end up losing it all.

Yes, you need to have like a sort of exit strategy. This is very effective to mitigate your lost. We really don't know what will be the top price of a coin, so better to set specific target and when you hit it, sell to take home the profits. Greediness will not bring you good outcome and you might end up losing everything.
8410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blood-Bath Over? on: January 25, 2018, 08:20:17 PM
Looks like the market has stopped bleeding for the time being. Seems like they found a new consolidation point right now. I'm interested to see which direction it will go from now on. Definitely  been a rough couple of weeks with all this red in the market

Yeah, its been a roller coaster right in the last couple of weeks and its very rough to see what direction bitcoin is going. Everyone really thought that we have recovered the first crash, unfortunately, there's a lot of negative sentiments around pulling the price once more.

The price has been stalled in the $10K-$11K, I think it was influenced on the bitcoin future contract that will end. But then let's see, look like the price is back to $11.3, is this another bull trap or are we really back in the game now?

I hope so. It totally depends on bitcoin. If bitcoin can reach 13k usd new bullish season may be start but if it falls below 10k all altcoins will be red again. Bitcoin still decide what is going to happen.

All we can really do is to hope that we are headed to $13K so that we can somewhat breath a sigh of relief. But if it fall on the $10K range, it will be a long day for everyone. Crossing my fingers.
8411  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-23] Coinbase Overshoots 2017 Revenue Goal By 66% Making $1 Bln, Rejects on: January 24, 2018, 08:31:11 PM
Hell No!!!

They made tons of money but shitty support? They should have at least gave us way better support because they are making a lot of money from us. They even clogging the network because they are not doing batch transactions. They are really a cancer to every trader, but since crypto is booming, a lot of new investors flock to their trading platform and think that there are no better trading platforms around.

This is good news for Coinbase, and they have the makings of a good product. They need to start showing their appreciation for their customers and work to ensure that during periods of high volatility that they don't crash as has been the case in the past. I also understand that they are a company and need to make money, but they also need to work on their fees. Undecided

Do you really think that they will improved their support? They have been called around March-June because of their shitty platforms but we don't see any improvement, actually they became worst. That's why I don't do trading on Coinbase, they don't care about their customers.
8412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally Bitcoin is becoming normal on: January 24, 2018, 07:24:35 PM
Unconfirmed transactions is down to 72K as of the moment, so its a significant drop from 200K-300K that's why bitcoin is fast. I guess it we could maintain it below 100K, we can say that transactions is somewhat normal. Maybe those who are spammers the network suddenly stop or there are less transactions as compare to previous months. But we can still improved it with LN + SW. Tested myself a few transactions with SW and it really very cheap.  Grin

Lightening network would change bitcoin forever. a new beginning.

Yes, you are very right. Once lighting network is launched, we can see faster than normal speed and cheaper than normal fees. I can’t wait for the network to be live.

Yes. We are all waiting for Lightning Network to be launched. Probably some finishing touches before they are going to roll it out. I read that its on the Alpha phase now. I speculate that in the next couple of months it will be ready for release.
8413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is a million dollars possible? on: January 24, 2018, 06:17:01 PM
The interesting thing about investing in ICOs is that you can very quickly become a millionaire because if you choose a potential ICO, the chances of making a profit are high. So you need to research specific to find the potential ICOs, if you find you will have a lot of money from it.

I don't like the idea of ICO being your goal to get rich quick. It's not the way because there are a lot of scam ICO nowadays that even you do your due diligence to research and study before investing your money, chances are you could end up with nothing. Hard to differentiate legit and scam, they evolved as well.

But as far as hitting 1 million for a single coin, maybe, but it will take a lot of years to achieved that. Even its hard to see bitcoin touching it 10-15 years from now.

I have stocks that I been holding for more than 10 years but so it didn't do any good. Though its possible, but we are not sure how long will it takes for any coins to reach that amount.
8414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: today's bitcoin value on: January 24, 2018, 04:43:14 PM
what can you say about this bitcoin price today? you think it will going up before this year ends? and how?

Currently the price is around $11K, and this past few days bitcoin has somewhat stalled. Bitcoin though can end up doubled or even tripled it's current price. Is just the beginning of the year, there are more surprises on its sleeves.

these price is good place for buying , because i think that 2018 , it will be a huge year for cryptocurrecy world

Of course, every dip is a perfect time to buy it.

bitcoin prices are currently really very concerning, before many people who put much hope on the development of bitcoin, but vice versa. maybe investors are very disappointed with the current bitcoin price, whose price decreased about $ 8000 from the high price of bitcoin at the time

I wouldn't put to much emphasized on that $7.5K-$8K prediction. I have enough of those predictions already. I would rather look at bitcoin longer term so that I won't be disappointed if the price goes deep at that level.
8415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit transaction: first confirmation within MINUTES with fee of 64sat/byte! on: January 22, 2018, 11:02:23 PM
Let me chime in my experienced using Segwit transaction. A created a GreenAddress wallet (Yes they are Segwit enabled wallet) and try a few experiments and I was quite happy with the results. Wasn't able to recall how much I paid, but I think its around $1.50 and my transaction went very fast to my surprise.

So I really don't understand why people are still not getting the hype around Segwit. You will hear alot of people bitching around the high cost of bitcoin transaction and slow confirmation. I must say that you need to try and get a Segwit enabled wallet (https://greenaddress.it/en/) or Electrum 3.0.5 to understand what I'm saying here.
8416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Next coin for a quick x5 is....: on: January 22, 2018, 07:52:45 PM
Right now ,we should bet on which coin will do a /5 .  Grin

If all of this downward pressure is because of the CBOE futures markets then we should see a spike tonight and through the next couple of weeks. CBOE futures contract expires today in the late afternoon. If this does happen then expect another drop before Feb 14 which is the next futures expiry.

Thank you for this info.
So what do you think about altcoin investments now? I was thinking of investing in a few altcoins. It makes sense to invest because the prices are low now Smiley
Especially Steem, Ada and Verge.

Current prices:

Steem - $4.11
Ada - $0.548199
Verge - $0.089725

Those coins are really quite cheap mate. You should get them now and lock it for long term. I like those 3 coins and I'm going to get them now.

Right now ,we should bet on which coin will do a /5 .  Grin

I really thought that CBOE future contracts has ended a few days ago. And then I realized its CME that ends. And when CME contracts ends last week, we have recovered a bit, and then its CBOE turns to end the contracts, maybe this is one factor why the price is so volatile in the last couple of weeks. But if we are going to based in on CME's timing, we might be seeing another recovery phase in the next couple of days. Might as well buy cheap altcoins before they recovered.

Probably Deeponion. Doing great and only will get better. Plus with free air drops you make some more each week. Just hope others get in before they miss out.

Oh, I see you have a new logo on DeepOnion, has there anything else changed? Or was it mostly visuals?

LOL. Don't go that further mate. I know what you are trying to say here.  Grin
8417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptos be so volatile forever? on: January 19, 2018, 08:57:00 PM
When will we reach the state of more of less stable cryptocurrencies or it is in their nature and will never end?

Still boils down to supply and demand, correct me if I'm wrong. So I really doubt that we can see crypto being less stable. Its their nature, In bitcoin's case, when there's a huge demand the price will swing wildly. Some says it really bad for the market to be volatile, and this is the one reason why government are against crypto, and volatility makes it hard for bitcoin to be universally accepted as mode of payment.

So its really up to us on how we see this price instability. Are you going to take advantage of it to make more money, or would you rather have a stable price but less demand?
8418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Believe or not? on: January 19, 2018, 06:38:39 PM
NEO GOLD to reach $1.00 this month. Do you believe or not?

What do you think are the factors that will pump the price to get to $1? Can you back up your claims? Or just any speculation?

I dont believe it. Most of altcoin now just pump and dump coin. What is neo gold ? Forked from neo ? Or just erc20 token to make some joke or scaming people by pumping it, creating fomo and then dumped so hard untill it can not get any trust again. Please for other. Do some research before fomoed or buying this coin. You better keep it at ethereum or bitcoin even the market crash.

Obviously, this is the only way that the coins can get to $1 as predicted by the OP, He is creating some hype on the coins but most of us are aware that it's impossible for a coin which such low marketcap to suddenly explodes unless it was P&D at the background working. And its currently down $0.030156 USD (-5.06%)
8419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum blue on: January 19, 2018, 05:28:56 PM
Team information is not enough. I have to investigate the team before I invest in a project.
You're right about that and I couldn't find much information about the team involve either but the token have a good historical information though.

I'm still not on this as of yet. I also can't find anything that will sway my decision to put my hard earned cash. I need to investigate who is behind the project, there's a lot of scam out there, I don't want to be a victim of it.

Do we really need more Ethereums? I do not believe, that any of them is able to be successful. Most of them have only one point - to earn money from the hype. There could be only one Ethereum - where Vitalik Buterin is. The rest should not even deserve your attention

Exactly, Ethereum has already enjoying a second wind and even goes for a new all-time-high, breaking the 4 digit mark. The hype of another Ethereum is not on my table, Vitalik Buterin already established Ethereum, no need to clone or another variant. This is like Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash all over again. The other one want to take over and take a piece of the pie.
8420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin uptrend now? on: January 19, 2018, 05:02:19 PM
market is green today. Do you think the uptrend is coming?
Do I should invest some?
no no, you should not invest rightnow, because the market is still not very red rightnow and there are more trend of dropping more, so you should wait a little bit longer to see will the market rise again to start buying some coin for ourself.

I have to disagree, even though the market is green, the price of bitcoin is already quite cheap so you need to buy and not missed the opportunity when it goes to another rally. Its continues to fluctuates, meaning there are still sellers out the who wants to get out. So don't wait till the door closes us, this is really a good buying opportunity as far as I know.

Bitcoin is trading sideway now, the best time to invest was during the dips. Bitcoin might be going up anytime. If you have decided to invest, perhaps you can invest half of your capital first and monitor the market.

Another good suggestion. Test the market and see how it goes for you. Buy in small portions and monitor where the market is heading, and buy more when it dips a little. Its always a win-win situation for all of us. If bitcoin price goes up, your investment will grow, if the price goes down, get it while its cheap and then hold.
