861  Economy / Economics / Re: What was your lowest point financially? How did you go through it ? on: December 30, 2022, 08:21:44 PM
Mine was when my laptop got broken and I have no money to replace it. I lost my online job and lost all my sources of income. I do 't have enough savings to buy a new laptop so I tried looking for an office job back then. I got hired but I had a hard time sustaining the necessities of my family. It's a good thing that someone lent me money to purchase a new laptop and was able to look for a better job online again. There will be unexpected problems that could come our way and that will be the time that we might think that life will be over for us, but looking back, you'll realize that good thing could still happen in the end.
862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling For Fun - What Does This Mean To You? on: December 30, 2022, 07:49:38 PM
I have the same insight towards this belief. Others think that gambling for fun is just doing gambling without considering the risks and without hoping to win. For me, gambling for fun kmis just enjoying the entire game while targeting a good profit at the same time. It's also about having the eagerness to win but having the positive attitude as well. It focuses on having fun while betting and not stressing out too much with the possibility of losing.
863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: December 30, 2022, 06:25:53 PM
For me to be placing a bet it is assumed that i have understand the full insights about the risk involved, the higher the risk the higher the winning regardless of how much you stake, but it will make more meaning if you can stake with a smaller amount with higher risk and winning, if the place you a double of your winning then they already have the calculations to be 90% sure of what they are giving as offer for you, but you ain't sure about yours, this makes it high risk but on a rare occasions some gamblers prove smart and win them after taking the risk.

It's all or nothing so I believe that it will still be worth it. Despite the high risk, it's still a good thing to try your luck once. There might be a smaller chance of winning but I like it better than betting continuously and trying our luck unendlessly because we might only end up again chasing all our losses. Gambling has risks but it will be an advantage if we'll choose the risk that we could take.
864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT ?? What do you think about it ? ? ? on: December 29, 2022, 06:24:34 PM
honestly having NFT arts valued at millions seems like absurd idea even though i honestly really like the technology of NFTs but I think it's just like some kind of manipulation, right now the value of these NFTs are falling apart mainly because of the fact that these NFTs has shown it's rather low utility I guess but hey, at least they still got their NFTs arts even though the value has sink so significantly.
I'm more inclined with the idea of NFTs being taken advantage in gaming and authenticity of products than these NFT arts honestly, the technology is awesome honestly.

NFT arts could easily be imitated so I don't really see that its value is worth it. I would rather use my funds in investing with good coins than purchasing NFT digital arts. NFTs are also having a hard time dealing with the market situation so, despite the potential, they couldn't rise and strike a good position in the market. It may take time before they reach a good spot because they will surely just get along with the market recovery period.
865  Economy / Economics / Re: Hope for cryptocurrency in Nigeria. on: December 29, 2022, 05:45:34 PM
Frankly, it should be clear that it's not actually the Nigerian government that restricted cryptocurrency, it's the central bank of Nigeria. If it were to be the Nigerian government, then it would have been so catastrophic for the users. But it's the CBN, and they only have the right with the banks by restricting the banks from dealing with individuals and companies transacting with cryptocurrency.

However, I did not use the word "ban" like the OP because what is being experienced in Nigeria is a play of restriction, it is nothing serious anymore. Many individuals and companies have started engaging banks directly with crypto-related transactions just like it was before the restriction was announced.

It was surely hard for Nigerians to deal with the restrictions especially the big-time crypto investors in their country. However, it's still a good thing that they are now experiencing a lighter restriction and they're able to transact through banks that support crypto. I hope that their central bank would release the restriction and would let their people transact with crypto freely again.
866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: December 29, 2022, 05:03:43 PM
I just gamble whenever I want to feel entertained. It was actually part of my daily routine but when I got busy with my job, I only do it whenever I have free time. I don't want to focus too much on gambling and aim for high profits because I know the risks that I could face in it. I don't want to fall for gambling addiction so I always put control and limitations so I won't have regrets in the end. Gambling is to be enjoyed and shouldn't be the reason for us to suffer when abused.
867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gambling today and lesson i learnt (lost 2000 usd today) on: December 29, 2022, 04:34:08 PM
Gambling is very simple because we only need to prepare money and play immediately.
But gambling also requires control because they and we should have seen the many bad experiences we have had.
Gambling is not a way to make a quick buck so they have to think twice about trying it because it won't always work.
The longer they gamble, the more money they can lose so this must be controlled so they don't lose all of their money at once.
Actually gambling could be a quick way to make money, as you said gambling is simple since they only need money and play immediately. But of course you will not always make money through gambling because luck not always on your side. When someone is lose, there's will be someone will make money. When you're make money, it mean someone is losing money.

Even poker and sport are skill based game, your analysis and prediction wouldn't always work too.

It's could be a quick way to make money but also the fastest way to lose everything we have. It could also be tempting all the time because of the huge hope of winning so it needs control. It's just hard to let go of it and to quit especially for those who have the wrong mindset toward it. We shouldn't make gambling a top of everything and stay away from it as much as possible once we know that we're falling badly for it.
868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Responsible gambling on: December 29, 2022, 04:14:43 PM

Any of you guys use the responsible gambling feature? If so, what do you think about it? Is it helpful or does it only gives you a sense of control

This allows you to continue gambling at a limited phase and fund, everybody should do this from time to time to control their urge to gamble even if they are not a chronic gambler, you should establish the habit of limiting your time and fund from time to time so to avoid chasing your losses, habits, and mindset is powerful to help you avoid becoming a gambling addict.

It needs courage and dedication to follow and apply this control strategy wholeheartedly because if not, it will only be easy for a gambling addict to go back and enjoy gambling uncontrollably. The mindset to stop betting should be firm so a player would be able to turn his back on too much betting. It only takes self-control and self-discipline after all.
869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Types Newbies Should know About on: December 28, 2022, 05:15:40 PM
It is always good for a newbie gambler to try all this types of bettings so as to know the one that will be suit themselves and choose the best plan and strategies to use, this will help him understand the pattern the best and how to easily play through in that particular kind of betting, and it is always advisable as well to learn this betting types very well before using a large amount of money to gamble them since you're just a newbie by then on a learning ground, this is common mistakes that could be avoided in other to make betting in gambling enjoyable for beginners.
I have been gambling for years, but to be honest, I haven't tried all those betting types yet. Who would have thought that gambling isn't just about betting and choosing? It's a broad thing and there are plenty of strategies that we could apply. I've been doing parlay for a long time and am comfortable applying it. There are still other betting types that I would love to try in the future. I guess there are really lots of things that we could still discover in gambling.
870  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What happened with crypto? on: December 27, 2022, 05:09:58 PM
I would never say that it is stupid to buy bitcoin now. Because I know that if you want to make a profit by investing in something, you should always try to buy at a low price and sell at a high price. And I was talking about the luna, since it has come down so much that everyone will want to invest here as well. But like Bitcoin, can it return to its previous state in the future? And if Luna wants to go back to the way it was then I think it will take a lot longer.

Investing in Luna now expecting Luna to return to its former state is nothing but foolish. Because Luna is down a lot now and it's hard to know if it will ever come back up like Bitcoin. Even if it wants to come back, it will take a long time. But I think it will be over before then. And at this time if you invest on Bitcoin then you can get more profit. So like a fool, run after Bitcoin now without putting your invested money behind Luna. And if you wait until the end of the bear market then you can make a lot of profit.

Why would you trust a coin that has ruined the trust of its investors over Bitcoin which is well-established and has shown us great movement for years? The prices might be down right now but it's still worth buying. Bitcoin will always be a good investment despite the market situation. We all know how it could drop down and strike high again in time. There are just many things that affect the market but that doesn't mean that it won't recover again.
871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Are You Preparing For 2023? on: December 27, 2022, 04:15:31 PM
I personally believe that I had enough preparations for the upcoming year. This year has been a challenging year for crypto users and investors but it was already an opportunity taken since I already took advantage of the dip. I already bought a few potential cokns and planning to hold them until the market gets back to normal. For sure the beginning of the year will still be a shaky quarter for crypto but at least, it's a good thing that we're well-prepared for the possibilities because the market is volatile and unpredictable.
872  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you ready to spend crypto when market is down on: December 27, 2022, 03:39:55 PM
Good question from a newbie👍

I will only find it hard to spend crypto in a bear market if I bought the crypto e.g Bitcoin or Ethereum in a bull market, this is why I always tell my friends that Fiat and Crypto must co-exist, its pure balancing, for example

Assuming I bought 1 Bitcoin at 60,000$ it makes no sense to use the Bitcoin to make purchases online, now we are in a bear market, I can get 1 Bitcoin for 16k+ and use this to make purchases if I must, my mind will have the thoughts that I can still buy back at 16k+ since we are still in a bear market.

I know this feeling well, my first few big purchases of Bitcoins are always in my mind when looking at the the current price and if I should spend any of my coins. But over the years I bought bitcoins at so many different prices that it's hard to keep track. Instead of buying one time per month, I prefer to make 2-3 smaller purchases every 2 weeks. Dollar cost average strategies are the best in my opinion, even though it's hard to track of the purchase prices. In general I think the same that we shouldn't be spending our coins during bear markets. It's better to hold out and wait for the next bull market to come.

I used to spend my Bitcoin and Ethereum holdings before regardless of the bearish market situation without minding the opportunity of a good profit that I might earn when the market recovers. Later on, I have learned the importance of long-term holding and tried to keep my coins well. I learned that the bear market is an opportunity to buy and not to spend potential coins. It should be a good preparation for the market recovery.
873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BANKMAN-FRIED PANIC GAMBLES TO REPAY DEBT on: December 27, 2022, 03:02:10 PM
This is surely something people expected of him after all the details of his management came out. Dude was only interested in stealing money and laundering them through donations, paid spokespeople and such. He claims to be completely broke and if it's true the guy paid 15 million to one of his shills and without having a backup fund of a few mill just in case. It's like that guy from a joke who bought a wallet with his last money. This drama is going to follow us for years and I'm sure we'll get a few more interesting stories out of it.

He's into scamming and fooling people so we can't expect anything but drama and fake issues. He's making noise to attract attention again and to gain sympathy for what he's doing which is actually a desperate move. Gambling can't help us recover our funds and it can't also be a solution to our debt. It will only pull us deeper into debt.
874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If your friend would tell you this... on: December 27, 2022, 02:37:08 PM
If your friend would tell you hey bud I have 10k in BTC lets try to make it 65k. You play on the casino for me.
How would you play? what would be your game pattren?

Id probably do 1 game of black (20k win) then one game of roullete with 10 numbers = $65k profit.

what would you do
They always say that we shouldn't involve gambling and money in friendship because it could easily ruin relationships. That will be a risky offer and your friend might only blame you if every you'll lose in gambling. Let him decide on his own and never get involved in it. As a friend, you can also advise him not to risk a huge amount of money in gambling if he aims to make a profit. Never decide for your friend's fortune in gambling.
875  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What you really think about trading bots? on: December 25, 2022, 03:00:18 PM
IMO you are 100% right by saying that such tools are not for beginners rather only for expert traders. Only experienced traders should go for it and they are in better position to tell whether they are worthy or not. These days AI based trading bots are available that can do trading like humans (not sure up to what extent they can act like humans).
I would say use them only while you are away not rely on them 100% for all of your trading. If bots can give profit then whole trading industry would be relying on them.
in real use beginners use trading bots more than doing manual trades with their technical knowledge. Beginners only rely on the work of bots to make trades automatically. This will be very dangerous because beginners do not have full control of what is traded. Even though trading bots also use AI it will still be at risk. No machine is perfect, all will experience errors. As a trader, you must also have control over the assets being traded.
absolutely right. To survive in trade, you have to learn and know everything yourself. If you are a new trader like everyone else you will want to use bots but this is very risky. Never rely on anything to trade. First make yourself adept at trading and then trade. If you don't do this and trade daily with bots, you will end up losing money which will lead to your disappointment and failure.

I've tried using trading bots before due to curiosity but unfortunately, I only ended up losing more so I can conclude that they aren't reliable all the time. Because of that experience, I tried my best to learn all the applicable and effective strategies in trading. Knowing the fundamentals and technical analysis is really an advantage for us to grow as traders where we don't have to rely on AIs. Beginners should focus on learning everything about trading first than relying on bots because we could make accurate and right decisions by doing manual trading.
876  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long term Crypto winning strategies on: December 25, 2022, 02:37:05 PM
The only reasonable investment is bitcoin, more so in the dips. But there is no logical reason to invest in altcoins and bag hold them for long term since they have no real potential. When all the altcoins get is pump and dumps, it is best to treat them as short term risky trades rather than long term investment you should buy and bag hold.
Bitcoin is the best currency to invest in. If you are a long term investor then you must invest in Bitcoin. There are many altcoins once they go down from the market they can never go back to that position again. And one time sheet is converted to coin. People invest in all these coins.becomes and demoralizes their investment. So investing should always be done with good thinking. Now is the best time to invest. Right now if you can invest in bitcoin and hold long term you can make a lot of money.

For cryptocurrencies, bitcoin is considered the safest option but not the most profitable. It depends on each person's preference, if you like safety, then bitcoin is the choice, but if you want high returns and can accept the risk, then altcoin is the choice. Not everyone should invest in bitcoin, the cryptocurrency market is highly diverse for everyone to choose from according to their preferences.

I don't see where the safest point is in Bitcoin, as it is highly volatile and a lot of people can lose money in just a night. Once you invest in it, it has a high risk and a high return. I don't know what coins are going to mean, but if you look at bitcoin in the previous years, you'll see that the price of bitcoin keeps increasing over time and that it is also becoming more difficult to own one as the price is higher than in previous years. Altcoin is also a good investment, but again, it is volatile, and we are not sure which coin has a chance to get into ATH as the price of it is mostly dependent on bitcoin or ETH.

When it comes to long-term investment, Bitcoin will always be the best option. You don't have to apply any complex strategy but rather just buy during the dip and sell when the market recovers or when we reach our targer profit. Aside from Bitcoin, well-established coins like ETH and BNB are also good choices. It's risky to buy non-established altcoins if our purpose is a long-term investment because some altcoins are just profitable in a short-term run.
877  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: December 25, 2022, 01:23:53 PM
Doing business is what is more important to me because this will give me freedom to make more money than depending on employer to pay me small money that is less to my efforts that I am putting in his business. Doing business or having our own business is better than going for a job and later we might get sacked and forcing us to start afrensh again.
If you remember the risk of being fired when working for someone else or in someone else's company. Then opening your own business is a better option than working anywhere, because usually everyone who chooses to run their own business has definitely chosen a business that they really love and are also very good at. So it will be very difficult for him to get bored in doing business because what he is doing is part of the hobby that he is involved in every day.
Being your boss is the most comfortable job that you could ever have. It might have risks but you could handle and control everything on your own. You only have to be knowledgeable about the choice of a business that you'll have. If you have your own business, you don't have to deal with a toxic working job and rude bosses because nowadays, it's hard to find a job that could give you the best comfort that you need.
878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just how bad is the bear market right now? on: December 25, 2022, 12:49:29 PM
Just how bad is the bear market right now?
Historically low prices have endured for a longer period of time in the present bear market cycle than in any other.
The bear is not really bad if we can understand the market right now. We are all waiting for Bitcoin to take a bold move so that the rest altcoins will take a bold move too. Once the market keep going bullish other altcoins too will move upward and everything will keep going up. I am very positive about the market right now because this is the time to buy and accumulate.
the problem is who can understand the market for now? in normal situations it is very difficult to read market movements, especially in current market conditions. you need to know in the real world or in crypto a raging bear is much more terrible than a raging bull. So please don't say very common words like that because they don't help in the current situation.

If you have seen the previous market cycle, you would know how to take advantage of the bearish season. It's actually an open opportunity for everyone who wants to buy and accumulate potential coins at a cheaper price which is good preparation for the bullish season. If you'll panic and fear the bearish season, you will surely make the wrong decision of selling at the wrong time. This usually happens but as long as you are holding huge potential coins, it's best to hold and wait for the market to recover again.
879  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is to blame on: December 25, 2022, 12:09:42 PM
If you take the initiative to take legal steps to solve a problem one day, then let regulations get involved. Without regulation, casinos can do anything, including unilaterally eliminating cases.
It sounds contradictory to how crypto works and most users don't like it, especially since the casino has to extract as much information about you as possible. But sometimes to achieve "fairness", the system has to be regulated. Regulatory engagement will keep the relationship between users and casinos conducive.
That could be the purpose of asking for verification from casino members, including the casino itself because with regulations if something bad happens to a member or casino, someone will help solve it. And it will go well if the government really does its job to protect innocent people. If all parties can do this, we can hope that misappropriation of funds, money laundering or fraudulent casinos can be handled properly because there are already regulations that will protect the rights of users and casinos.
There may be doubts and uncomfortability due to KYC requirements, it still protects both parties and its aim is still for the betterment of both the casino and players. If we will look at the positive side of it, we'll never see the regulation as a bad thing. It could actually control the criminal activities inside the casino. I don't think complying with the KYC will affect us negatively so the regulation shouldn't be a big deal.
880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should be very careful with alts on: December 24, 2022, 07:10:27 PM
Many projects in the crypto market are unreliable. Many altcoins that start off as quick profits to attract more investors turn out to be scams.
It is imperative to carefully research your options before investing in altcoins. To avoid bigger losses it is better to turn your attention to Bitcoin.

Crypto has attracted alot of scammers and they tend to do their bidding using altcoins.
They only create altcoin not for the benefits of the community but because of their selfish and greedy intentions, that's why you see an altcoin that's doing great to will suddenly get rugged the next day.

This has been happening in the entire crypto world for a long time already. Scammers are always hiding behind new projects and targeting many investors with their flowery words of promises about their projects just to take money from them. They will lie just to attract investors and would run away later on. That's why we are always advised to research so we won't fall for their trap. We must be observant as much as possible so we will know if a project is legit or not.
