They aren't doing it. Instead of focusing on the league to make it better, they are focusing on the 2 companies only. The competitiveness of the league is decreasing gradually because of these 2 companies and those independent teams are becoming milking teams. I will not be surprised if 5-10 years from now, 1 or 2 of these independent teams will sell their franchises to other companies.

I wonder if they don't notice the unpolishments and the incompetence of their league but I hope that they will still do something to fix their lapses and not just focus on earning money. Yes, it's business but I hope that they could still bring back the essence of this sport. PBA is starting to look more like a business than sports these past few seasons. It's getting unfair to teams and players but I wish that they would not sell their franchises despite what's happening.
1082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting becomes to high on: September 17, 2022, 04:39:30 AM
I know well, particularly my hands go out of control and keeps multiplying the bet value. At some point it reaches the maximum in my wallet. That is really a big mistake, but out of my previous losses I used to do it. This have given hands as well as made me loss big. Majority of the gamblers could've got this experience.
The majority of gamblers forget everything because they are lured in by big profits and there is also a continuous defeat factor so we also vent our lust to keep playing and hope to get big wins, but for sure the results will disappoint us and make all our money run out , if we are not good at taking care of ourselves and can't manage the budget we spend on gambling, you should never play gambling, but if you can control yourself and can manage your finances please have fun, but we also have to remember there are family who always await our return, so don't you ever waste all your money in gambling.
Gambling can make the gambler tempted to spend more money because of the desire to win more winning money.
If at that time they were able to win some money and realized that they had been lucky that far, they should have stopped and withdrawn the winnings instead of continuing to gamble.
And that's what makes the value of our bets even greater while we don't think about how much money has been used to gamble.
And when we lose self-control, defeat will start to come and take all the money we have won.

That's where gambling addiction enters especially when we chase over our losses. We're at risk of being tempted when we're having good winnings and I think that's a trap that we shouldn't fall for. There's a chance that we aim for higher gains but we should keep in mind that greed could possibly take everything away from us so we should always know when to stop and when to continue and not when we have already lost our funds.
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: September 15, 2022, 04:11:30 PM
Regarding the weight issues, yes it is difficult to maintain it, specially if your body is growing and can't adapt to your supposedly weight categories. That's why there are different type of weight classes, so that boxer can fit where they height and body will go. Then go up another notch like what Manny did during his prime and beating large fighters. So for Jerwn, and it the news is true that he can't make the weight properly then it will be a very dangerous fight for him and most likely he might lost again. But if his team are good at working with him round the clock to check how his body is losing that weight, and not body mass, and then still retain his power at absolute peak prior to the fight then they do a good job and most likely Ancajas will have his revenge.
We make it a big issue and yet Ancajas can still make it to the weight requirement. I think what Ancajas has to focus is to improve his stamina, it's not the weight that is the problem but his Ancajas because if he gets tired easily, he will lose his power in the later rounds, and that's what happened in their first meeting.
Maybe it's because of him really trying to lose that extra weight that why he became tired easily in this fight? Boxers really complained that if the weight is their issue, then most likely it will affect their performances.

But then again, they've seen what the problems are in the first fight, and should do the right corrective actions whether it was really the weight or Ancajas getting tired, or if he is overtraining. They have the tapes to review and make the necessary adjustment to win in this rematch.

It's also the role of his team to determine and notice the problem in his performance and fix where it's coming from. If it's connected to his health issue, then they should help him improve and reach the weight requirement for him to perform better. Every single detail that affects his performance needs to be fixed as early as possible.

Guys, I'm sure you are familiar with Rendon Labador, what do you think about him trying to get Pingris to play with him one on one? hehe.. it's a very popular topic now in the internet where some fans criticizing Rendon Labador for challenging the Sakuragi.

Hahaha, this is a bit off topic but since it is the talk of the town since a former PBA star is involved then i think it is worth the discussion here.

From what i have learned, it was Pingris who challenged Rendon to a one on one basketball game because he was trying to defend coach Chot Reyes who was badly criticized by Rendon and the rest is history.

It is clear that Rendon is no match to Pingris if they play basketball but the money will flow in here because they are vloggers and we all know that Filipinos will go to that platform to witness them play if ever it will push through but i don't think it will because Pingris has been silent on this issue now.

Yeah, saw this news about a couple of days ago hehehe, not sure where it steamed from, and from what I hear it's the other way around, it was Pingris who challenge this Rendon for a 1:1.

For sure though Rendon got the attention of Pingris and of course he made the attention of all Filipino basketball lovers and this is just for the hype on his side. But Pingris seems to be very serious and really wanted to play and with big money on the line.

Rendon only wants attention but based on what Pingris did, he really got the attention that he wants but got it in a bad way. Rendon has been really an attention seeker and have done it to lots of personalities but he deserves the shame that he got when he faced Pingris.
1085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to choose an online casino? on: September 14, 2022, 03:02:12 PM
I think it's a shame that people are wasting their time and money on casino games. It's such a waste of money, and there are so many other things you could be doing with it! I'm not saying that you should never play a casino game, but I think that if you're going to play them at all, you should only do it in moderation. You don't want to end up spending all night in front of your screen when you could be out having fun with friends or family!

We can't blame people who are into gambling. Some of them see it as a comfort and a source of entertainment after a long tiring day of work. Others find it fun and they forget their personal problems while playing. We have two different reasons for playing but that doesn't mean that we're wasting funds and time. As long as we're gambling responsibly, I don't think to gamble would ruin our lives.
1086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casinos vs money laundering. on: September 14, 2022, 02:47:11 PM
The money being used to gamble is hard to trace and determine if it's from money laundering activities but enforcing KYC will be a big help. They could freeze the account with suspicious activities but not all laundered money will be traceable. Some casinos don't mind checking their gambler's source of funds as long as they're earning.
1087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 10, 2022, 04:52:46 PM
I don't see Inoue declare any fight as easy one since as I see he take them as huge threat and he always focus on his training so that he can be more better than what he perform on his last fight.

A good mentality that he has, knowing that opponent is always wanting to beat him, so he needs to make sure that he's more than prepared.

Quote
And I think he will never think that Butler is easy for him so most provably their camp now is focusing to see the possible weakness of Butler to counter it.

Training camp always reviews tapes from the last fight and see if they can expose any possible weaknesses, from there they will setup strategy to win.

Quote
Inoue's camp is good on this so most provably they give good insights to help him win on their match since this is also a big break to their camp if they successfully defeat Paul Butler on a match.

Inoue's camp will continue to maintain their good reputation and bring more hypes to his career, each win that he will bring adds more fame

and money so they needed to make sure that they are really taking care of everything to keep his edge high.
Inoue always makes sure that he's more prepared than his opponents. He always has a long preparation and training and the result is too visible during his fights. His camp manages him wisely and yes, they will always take advantage of the hype and will make noise out of his name which is an advantage in his career. He will surely maintain a good record by beating his next opponents.
1088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Finding value bets on: September 10, 2022, 04:30:39 PM
What you say is true because having enough experience can improve our analysis of the player or team we want to choose. Indeed, there is no precise or accurate prediction but at least we can choose a player or team with more power than the opposing team. Thus, our winning percentage can be quite high and there is a possibility that we can win some money. And as long as we can adapt to the moment's circumstances, we can certainly know when we can bet again or when to pause. But from all that, we must also know that our analysis is not always able to give results for us and this is where we have to admit that we still need to learn more.
I think to choose a powerful team is not that hard because we can simply make a research online to see their strengths and weakness. We can watch their past games and so on but we should not limit our picking only in the strong team because sometimes those who we think are weak are the ones who will end up as a victor.

Knowing when to pause or stop usually occurs when we won or when we busted our balances because continuing can make us lose what we won and we can lose more further if ever we already lose earlier. We need to wait a day or two before we can bet again so that we are sure that our luck is on a full bar again.
That is true but we also have to think that it is not always a strong team that can keep winning against a weak team because there are times when a strong team underestimates a weak team so that they will lose the opportunity to win it. But at least, researching the history of their matches can help us choose a team with better statistics than other teams.

And yes, we have to know when to stop to avoid a big loss so that it doesn't cost us big money. And the last thing is to rest, like you said to reduce the tension after that bet so we can analyze well for the next match.
You said it right, underdog sometimes disappoint heavy favorite. It's not new to gambling where upset happened and it's in all the sports, we can't always assume that the weak team will lose or the weak fighter or player will lose surely, there are times that a bad day happen with the players / teams /fighters and it will result to unexpected losses.

You can analyze the game and expect that your prediction was right, but the assurance, no one can tell unless you are betting with fixed matches, which is another topic to discuss, but with fair games, the outcome can be conclude after the game.

The underdog sometimes is more determined to win and we could see it in some matches where the underdog performed better. That's the reason why we shouldn't underestimate the least favorite player because anything could happen in the middle of the game. If a player has a huge number of odds it doesn't mean that he will win the match. We should always expect the unexpected.
1089  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Rise of Mobile Gambling Is Leaving People Ruined and Unable to Quit on: September 10, 2022, 04:16:00 PM
There are many things that attract gamblers and make them stay in casino sites nowadays. First are the promotions and bonuses as well as huge jackpot prizes that they want to win. We're now in the midst of the inflation crisis and the urge of some gamblers to win big amounts is higher than usual. The convenience that online gambling could provide also has a huge effect on gamblers' addiction. It will be hard for them to control their urge to gamble because temptations could only be found in their gadgets.
1090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Multiplayer Gaming in Gambling Industry on: September 10, 2022, 03:27:16 PM
This is an interesting take on a subject that is usually associated with negative impacts and effects. I have not considered playing multiplayer in an online game but if this increases my chances of winning, then I guess this would be beneficial in the long run.

Just a quick question, how would they implement multiplayer in the gambling industry? Given that there are tons of games available per gambling website, how will the proceeds be divided among the players? I just hope that by implementing a multiplayer feature, this will not create a toxic environment where one player would blame the other for the loss.
We don't know how casinos will implement multiplayer in the gambling industry. Still, if it can allow them to earn more profits, casinos will try to implement it on their sites and see how it goes. If the results are good, they will try to make other games more attractive to gamblers, which can also create an addiction for the players. So in playing anything that involves gambling, we have to control ourselves so we don't get addicted.

If it will be more beneficial to players compared to normal gambling games, I'm sure that it could attract players because we all know that gamblers are into more profitable games. It might cause gambling addiction especially if players would feel more challenged and entertained so we should still know when to stop and learn how to control our emotions. It's another type of gambling innovation which will result the growth of casinos in the future.
1091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: September 08, 2022, 03:41:10 PM
Is anybody here following Haney's Twitter? I like how he is being vocal and at the same time trolling or trash-talking. Last month, Haney was trolling Teofimo Lopez calling his performance like a poor one against a non-ranked fighter.

This month of September he is targeting Tank Davis, calling his WBA regular belt a Mickey Mouse belt. Of course, the WBA belt is not a major title since Haney got the Super WBA belt and all the remaining belts in the division. It's funny because prior to becoming an undisputed champion, Haney was called an e-mail champ after his WBC interim belt was upgraded as the WBC champion after the corrupt WBC president Sulaiman tried to introduce its new WBC Franchise (similar to Super WBA belt) belt as a major belt with higher credits than the usual WBC belt.

I actually like that he's too vocal, honest,, and opinionated at the same time. Most of his tweets are reliable though he's calling out other boxer's performances in a negative way yet his honest with his reviews. Other boxers and fans are already aware that Haney is just vocal at everything. He says things straight forward without fearing anyone.
1092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: September 08, 2022, 03:24:29 PM
To be honest, I find this fight unfair for Silva because he deserves a better opponent which is a real boxer. We all know that he's a promising boxer so it will be better for him to face someone who has the same stamina and same sports description. For me, Jake Paul's sports are quite different from Silva's so he should be facing an opponent that would fit his stamina as well.
1093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Heavyweight Battle of Britain - FURY vs JOSHUA on: September 08, 2022, 03:14:06 PM
We have 17 votes in the poll and just 1 is in favour of Joshua to win. 16 of the 17 votes are in favour of Fury to win the fight if it goes ahead.

Considering the fact Fury has offered so many options to Joshua in order to accommodate the fight, there should be no excuses on part of Joshua to avoid getting in the ring to face Fury. I hope we something written in a contract soon so both fighters can concentrate on the fight itself.

It would be strange if the results were different. This calls into question the expediency of the fight. I would like to know what the odds of the bookmakers will be for this fight, it seems that due to the current situation we will really see something extremely one-sided. Like 1.05 on Fury and 18 on AJ. You will either have to bet on an outsider or guess in which round a knockout will occur.

Joshua should really grab this fight as an opportunity to show more of his skills in the ring. Fury has always been ready and prepared for whoever his opponents would be so we can't question the number of supporters who trust his strength in the ring. He has been showing his eagerness and dedication to making a good name in the industry.
1094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Strategies & Betting Psychology on: September 07, 2022, 06:32:11 PM
All the lists on the page provided by @OP are articles that people can read. But I'm not sure if it will work according to the situation and circumstances because I think when the situation changes, we have to be able to adapt too. But at least it can help people who want to learn more about sports betting but better have their own strategies that can suit them.
It could work for some but we know that not every strategy works best for everybody. So, if there's some of strategies that could work for some then they should try them out.

But if it's not working, better not to push it and be hard on it unless you want to face the consequence of it.
At least we have to select it to find a strategy that we can use and can give us victory. It's not easy, but that's what we must do to win. But using strategy does not guarantee us to be able to win the game we play, so keep that in mind and don't rely too much on strategy. And if we just want to play and get pleasure from gambling, we don't need to use any strategy.
Applying a strategy could be like trial and error. We can try and pick the ones that will fit our trading style. A single strategy won't fit everyone's trading journey so we must have the courage to choose the one that will be effective as we trade. Some of the strategies given on the list are proven effective but it depends on how we will apply them.
1095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casino Stake.com sued for $400 million on: September 04, 2022, 05:24:26 AM
Even if he don’t win the lawsuit these news will be devastating for the casino’s public image. Now lots if people will panic and withdraw funds because of that. It may even send the casino to bankruptcy. Stake/Primedice is (or was) one of the biggest casinos in this space and not many people had any serious problems with them. They (probably) still have a good reputation but these news might change everything.
It isn't a reason enough for people to feel devastated or fearful about this case because we all know that Stake is a reputable site and they will never let this issue pass without solving it. If it isn't affecting the gameplay, for now, I guess we shouldn't feel too bothered about what is happening because it will still take a legit process. It might affect the image of Stake but I don't think it will affect the good service that they could provide.
1096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Problem, Is it Possible to be a Thing of the Past? on: September 04, 2022, 05:10:33 AM
Pretty common behaviour for addicted gamblers, better look for money to spend on rehabilitation centers rather than keep doing the same things over and over. Addiction is bad in all fields, especially money-involved activities can hurt a person and it can lead to the ruin of the lives of people around pathologically addicted gamblers. Financial problems start to appear slowly after losing savings on gambling platforms and this should be the last point for gamblers who wanna get out of the deeper point that can't be fixed later, unfortunately.

I think the sweet spot to try to get rid of addiction is not when you've already lost all your money, but when you realize you're spending more money than you should on gambling.
After the player loses all his money to addiction, unfortunately, there are still ways to make the situation worse... I've seen many people borrowing more and more money with the illusion that one day they will be able to pay it back with their own profits match.
Unfortunately, some people have fallen deeply into a gambling addiction and have lost everything they had and that's the only time they will decide to quit gambling. A gambling addict, if not decided and serious about quitting will always find ways to gamble as long as he could find other resources. While a gambling addict who is serious and willing to change ways will also be willing to use his funds for rehabilitation rather than spending it again in gambling. It all depends on the willingness of a gambler to change his path.
1097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: RUIZ VS ORTIZ SUN, SEP 04, 2022 10PM ET EASTERN TIME/ on: September 02, 2022, 04:17:42 PM
You guys expect this fight to end by knockout under 9.5 rounds because bookies think that also as what they put in the odds for that option.

Looking at the knockout rate of both fighters which for me are high, i also that either fighter would sleep in the canvass and i'm thinking that it would be Andy Ruiz. Twice Ortiz lost to Wilder and that was expected as Wilder was is far superior than Ortiz but against the smaller Ruiz, i guess the latter would struggle just like on his rematch with Joshua.

Still good odds mate for this fight, yeah, everyone is expecting that this fight will not last that long, or you are the just the one expecting a decision win here here by Luis Ortiz hehehe.

But yes, I'm on the bandwagon, if Ortiz is going to win, he should do it very fast and early and not allow the fight to go to distance because in his last couple of fights, he always gasses out and that's why he gets KO late like in the Wilder fight.

TBH, i have not watch a single fight involving Ortiz so thanks for this info mate, with this i'm now inclined to a win by Ruiz via knockout because judging from his Johua fight, he is aggressive and relentless so if Ortiz gasses out in the middle rounds then i think it would be over for him under the ninth round. Ruiz by KO @1.78 is not bad at all, much way better than the ML.

If we based on this past fight then without a doubt for sure he can knockdown Ortiz in their match but I think that's not just an easy way because we l know that in this fight Ortiz aiming a victory so for sure that he will give his best for this fight also they have both a gold record for 32wins 2 loses and 0 draws which they are doing great in their individual career in the world of boxing. For this fight, Ruiz has a big chance to win but he needs to be more vigilant and don't underestimate Ortiz
Ruiz has a better record and experience so I might say that he has an edge here but he shouldn't be too confident because Ortiz is also preparing so well for this match. He should be too observant and should know how to counter the possible punches that Ortiz might throw him. It will be a good and exciting match but I guess, Ruiz will be the favorite here.
1098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play online/offline without your wife or family knowing it? on: September 02, 2022, 03:25:03 PM
You won't enjoy your gambling journey completely if you will be hiding it from your wife. You will not feel comfortable betting when she's around so if I were you, I will just tell her everything and just accept the things that she will be saying. You don't need to hide it as long as you are not causing chaos and distress to your family's finances.
1099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about the school lessons of gambling addiction? on: September 01, 2022, 07:46:07 PM
The effect of the lessons on gambling addiction will be close to zero. Those who want to play will continue to do so. If a child or student has gamblers in their environment, whether they are friends or relatives, they will still play and your lessons will not be able to resist this. As a result, this will result in a waste of educational institutions' resources. Also, students who are not involved in these games will be forced to attend these lessons on gambling addiction. At a minimum, it will be a waste of time for them, and at a maximum, it can have the effect of advertising for them.

Gambling temptations could be everywhere and it will be an individual's personal choice whether to fall for it or avoid it. Educational institutions shouldn't focus well on providing lessons about gambling addiction because setting reminders will be enough. It will still be a person's prerogative on how to handle gambling when they grow up. Giving lessons like this will only make more students feel curious about gambling.
1100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Infographics] Does Football Betting Pay Off? on: September 01, 2022, 07:27:10 PM
It is no surprise to me that mediterrenean countries have the most passionate and even bet loving fans. Especially Italian betting must be big business. But other data where they asked people if they think they won a money seems biased to me as well. People would love exaggerate their wins, and generally ignore their losses. Those stats are like "who are the biggest liars?" in my opinion. I personally love to bet on football although I generally target low scoring teams to get better/surprising odds.

that's funny though! "who are the biggest liars?" but anyway, such infographics should not be taken seriously as there may be some lapses here. for me, it is also not the true representation of bettors that you can get here. but just to give an idea about football bettors in several countries. we also don't know if they got enough sample size to come up with this infographic.
Yeah it is obviously funny to measure by asking people. People nearly never tell truth about their life and choices. Also  I agree that sample with these are generally 1000-2000s people so its never enough to measure whole nation!
By the way I feel like if you are consisten football watcher, football betting can be very very profitable. I know a person who is cleaner and his wage is low, although he knows football and makes around his wage monthly. So doubles his income.

People may say that they're making money from it but I guess it will be better if they will make another separate survey about how many of those players lose before making money. Some gamblers would think that it's easy to make money out of football betting without knowing that there's also a huge possibility of losing. We shouldn't disregard the risks.
