861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A new malware designed to beat 2-fa authentication on: February 02, 2019, 03:37:49 PM
Malware and security will always be at an arms race to defeat each other.  No matter how secure we think we are all it takes is one genius to crack the puzzle and we are screwed.  Also no matter how good your digital security is you are still prone to a physical wrench attack.
862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling strategies (beliefs) on: February 02, 2019, 03:20:03 PM
If there was any strategy I would recommend it would be going all in with your gambling budget on one or two bets.  The longer you play the more the results will lean towards the expected probability.  For example you can get 5 tails in a row on a coin toss but if you do one million tosses it will be very close to 50%.
863  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: why many traders(including me) not getting success on: February 02, 2019, 03:08:57 PM
You really should try to make profits from trading, in order for you to win someone must lose.  You are participating in a zero sum game that adds nothing to society. If you want to add to the crypto space you should build something that on boards new users and makes the experience fun for newbies.
864  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Binance Enables Debit and Credit Card Payments on: February 01, 2019, 04:22:30 PM
Nice move from Binance, but still a long way to go. I think by this attempts Binance is taking market share rapidly and in which helps will turn into the number 1 exchange for beginners. Looking forward how smoothly it works with Credit card payment for buying cryptos.

Ya binance already seems to be the top exchange among crypto traders and investors.  I still don't trust them completely and would never leave any substantial amount of coins even on binance or coinbase.
865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gpu Mining only on: February 01, 2019, 04:12:01 PM
At this point it's only worth it if you want to do this as a hobby or you need heat in the winter.  The only real way to make a big profit is to mine new coins that aren't available on exchanges yet but that is very risky.  Your better off spending your time doing almost anything else because you will make more money than the current mining situation we are in.
866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling site that offer Free spin? on: February 01, 2019, 04:03:34 PM
The free spins won't allow you to win anything.  It is just a promotional tool to draw you in so you play more.  Its just like how casinos will givep layers free rooms and free food so they stay longer and play.  For whales they give them the most ridiculous perks and even let them fly the casino's private jet just so they bet millions.
867  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mistakes need to avoid in day trading on: February 01, 2019, 03:57:24 PM
Noobs shouldn't even try to daytrade anyways, they should just buy buying and holding.  For someone to make money in trading someone has to lose.  If your new you will get eaten up by the pros that have been doing this for years.  The only people that win in the end are the exchanges with their trading fees.
868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pow is the thing of past, Now it's time for Port on: February 01, 2019, 03:51:17 PM
Proof of work probably won't last, the security it produces is overhyped because even shitcoins aren't getting attacked.  It is a terrible waste of energy and it just rewards dumpers.  Once Proof of stake gets fully figured out it will be the dominant issuance method in my opinion.
869  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto as a payment method for goods: what to expect in 2019 on: February 01, 2019, 03:42:43 PM
There just isn't enough people using crypto for payments at this point in time.  It doesn't even have the ability to be decentralized and scale yet anyways.  Right now bitcoin is mostly a store of value, I think of it as digital gold. Of course it is still used as payments but I like to think of it as a digital gold bearer bond.
870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone here interested in this project Grin?? on: January 31, 2019, 02:24:58 PM
This coin has good tech, but I don't think this is a coin you want to invest in to make money.  The inflation rate will be very high over the next 10 years.  Stick with Bitcoin or Ethereum if you want to make big profits.  Grin's goal is to be used as everyday currency and not to be a store of value.
871  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Comic - Volume #1 on: January 31, 2019, 02:20:26 PM
I know I'm late to the discussion, but I think a physical comic book would be fantastic and would be extremely collectible--especially if there were only a small number of them printed.

People have shifted away from "floppies" as far as reading comics goes, but as far as I can see there's always going to be a market for them.  With bitcoin still being just 10 years old, a physical comic book could be worth a lot down the road.  Look at those bitcoin magazines that were published a few years ago.  If I'm not mistaken, they're going for well over what they originally sold for and it's only been about 4-5 years since they came out.

Anyway, good luck with your project.  It's always nice to see some passion combined with initiative and creativity within the bitcoin community.  If I had any money to spare, I would help out--but as usual, I'm flat broke.

Ya, people still buy vinyl records of new music releases.  The market for these types of physical collectibles is definitely out there still.  I always prefer physical copies of books, movies, and music as well as digital copies. It is nice to have a physical thing you can actually hold and cherish more and it can make as a nice display. Smiley
872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa an untapped cryptocurrency related betting opportunity on: January 31, 2019, 02:13:18 PM
Bitcoin and casinos aren't going to magically lift Africa out of poverty.  The United States and global military is at fault here.  They overthrew Libya because they wanted to establish a gold currency and the United States wasn't having that!  If other countries just left Africa alone from the start they would be doing just fine.
873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM's are popping up on: January 31, 2019, 02:09:35 PM
It's easy to just sign up for an exchange and buy crypto that way, Then you won't be charged ridiculous fees like these ATMs.  But I guess if this helps more people to get into crypto I guess I'm in favor of it.  I still haven't used one of these myself and most likely never will unless its an emergency.
874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why not just gamble with fiat? on: January 31, 2019, 02:03:57 PM
Just like what others have said, it has something to do with KYC. There are crypto related casino who don't require you to pass any info to be able to withdraw. And there are casino's which offer good bonuses and other incentives which a traditional fiat casino doesn't offer to its customers.

Its not that difficult to identify someone through their bitcoin transactions.  Unless they are very careful with mixers and swapping for other coins they can have their identity pinned.  Most people really don't care about privacy anyways and the statistics prove this.
875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HODL&CALM on: January 31, 2019, 02:00:14 PM
Markets always reward patience in the end.  Everyone here will be happy if they just hold for a few years and bitcoin is back over 20k and altcoins will be through the roof as well.  We have seen this same thing play out time after time and some people never seem to learn, all you have to do is look at past charts and learn this.
876  Other / Archival / Re: Jordan Peterson BTC Donations on: January 31, 2019, 01:53:26 PM
Why on earth would this guy be taking donations when he is already a millionaire and can fund any projects he wants with his own money.  I never liked this guy and think he is absolutely crazy.  Just another rich person trying to protect the status quo.
877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has this year be favourable to you? on: January 27, 2019, 02:14:30 PM
Seriously, 2019 has only just begun and people are already spreading doom and gloom about the crypto market.  All the people calling bitcoin dead will be crying when it hits 20k again.  Take advantage of the bear market and use this time to accumulate cheap while people are sitting here with thumbs in their mouth.
A great advise. History repeats. Just because the market is down does not mean that everything is coming to the end. Use the opportunity to gain more Bitcoin. Consider it as a chance given to you. But I do not think gambling should be a way. If you gamble you may even lose your Bitcoin.

Past results do not indicate future results, that being said I firmly believe bitcoin will hit new all time highs within the next 1-2 years.  A lot of people have left the crypto market but it is good to see this forum active and the bitcoiners here are remaining optimistic.
878  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Comic - Volume #1 on: January 27, 2019, 02:10:54 PM
Your much more likely to get contributions if you make youtube videos.  People love someone that is charming and someone that they can relate to.  Depending on how charismatic you are it will help a lot.  I agree with making some prototypes beforehand as well so people know exactly what they are investing in.  Also maybe try contacting some Crypto giants like John Mcafee or Roger Ver to help with funding.
879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin with capital "B" and bitcoins with lowercase "b" on: January 27, 2019, 02:04:35 PM
When telling people what amounts to pay or receive I just type BTC instead of writing out bitcoin. I wish more people would use smaller units like mBTC, I know people refer to satoshis a lot though when talking in really small amounts.  Bitcoin should always be capitalized anyways because of how important it is in the world Smiley
880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 mens Australian Open (tennis) betting odds on: January 27, 2019, 01:58:35 PM
Djoker played a good game but lets not forget how far he is behind on the career slams list.  He is only sitting at 7 titles while Federer has 20 and nadal has 17.  I think Djokavic had the potential to catch up to Roger but he was too incosistent over his career.  He is still one of the greats but he often gets overshadowed by Nadal/Federer when talking about this era.
