8841  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-09] Bitcoin Price Recovers, Chinese Exchanges Not Being Banned on: September 10, 2017, 04:54:37 AM
I am sad to realized that unconfirmed reports can easily be affecting the value of Bitcoin. Well, this is really a weakness of all markets we have...rumors can easily lead to unwarranted decisions and then within minutes the market can be in panic. Right now, even if it is already known that banning exchanges might not happen at all, the value of Bitcoin has not yet recovered...but since it is already the weekend where demand can be weak we might expect Bitcoin to be back surging in the next few days though it might not be possible for it to go beyond $5,000 and might just be staying at $4,400- $4,500.

Damn. So its really fake news. But the problem is that the damaged is done already. Many nervous investors already dump their coins pulling the price back to $4200 again. But yeah, usually during weekends the market is quiet with few major orders. But I hate that the news causes panic, and now those who have sold already and read this news will surely regret their decisions. Oh well, that's life.
8842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are we in a bubble? on: September 10, 2017, 04:49:43 AM
Yes we are in bubble..bitcoin and another alt coin will burst and take anothe4 deep in this month. Maybe untill next years..i will wait bitco8n at $1000 or maybe $800. And will but many bitcoin if the deep reach that price. Hold tight bro..we are in the bigest roller coster in the world..

think you're going to be waiting a very long time if you're waiting for $800 or $1000 btc

LOL. I seriously doubt that we can ever touch that price again. Its more than half of the current price and the only thing I can think of such scenario happening is that big whalers dump their coins and shift to altcoin market. Do you think that they are stupid to do not? I don't think so. So this scenario is nearly impossible.

I don't think that we are in a bubble. This is already 2017 and a lot of investors is already in bitcoin. We even have a country that is backing up the market. Japan and Australia. The price decline now is due to the China announcement about banning ICO and local exchanges. Its not that a bubble has been burst.
8843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: September 10, 2017, 04:12:22 AM
We'll basing from Melo's performance in the recent seasons even if he joins LBJ they won't be as good. Melo can't even get to the highlights anymore these days.
Yeah, maybe when it comes to superstar status, he is way ahead of Irving but if you compared the play now, the chemistry on James, for me Irving is better. As you can see, he has been outshined by other younger superstar.

Or maybe Melo just need to in a good team that he is not the superstar before he can performed well? I think this career is in the downward right now. So it he really wants to earn a ring before going out, he should go to Cavaliers and team up with Lebron and make a last run on it. He will be a good addition to the team and could challenge Golden State again on the next NBA championship. But he needs to cut his pay if he is really interested to join the Cavs.

8844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another ransom attack. How to solve these? on: September 10, 2017, 04:03:47 AM
"Three sets of hackers were hard at work over the Labor Day weekend using ransomware  to wipe about 26,000 MongoDB databases.
A "MongoDB ransacking" spreadsheet created by researchers Dylan Katz and Victor Gevers - the latter of whom along with Niall Merrigan discovered an earlier deluge of attacks - showed a single group that uses "cru3lty@safe-mail.net” is responsible for 22,000 of the accounts hacked, ZDnet reported.
"We have your data. Your database is backed up to our servers," the message to victims read. "If you want to restore it, then send 0.15 BTC and text me to email, just send your IP-address and payment info. Messages without payment info will be ignored."
The group responsible for ransacking 3,500 databases sent victims a similar message. "If you want to recover your data, then send 0.05 BTC to bitcoin-address and send your IP to our email. You don't want that your users/customers to know that you have a data leak, right?" ZDnet reported the group, which uses the email address "wolsec@secmail.pro" as saying."

I am a person that likes technology, so found this about one of the databases that I am studying lately(MongoDB), and saw once more a ransom attack asking to pay in bitcoin. I, being an working IT, know that we should secure our databases from the network, make time to time backups, but breaches may happen. How will this kind of ransom attacks be solved? Is it possible to track somehow, or atleast start thinking about a tracker for these kind of ransom attacks?
This is bad publicity for cryptoworld, especially for bitcoin, and this kind of illegalities should be thinked before corporates start banning bitcoin, or it gets to deep in the dark web.

If I'm not mistaken, if authorities really wanna track those hackers, then really do it. IRS is tracking does individual who are not paying taxes, so I guess its also possible for them to go after those hackers.

However, bitcoin is decentralized in nature and the hackers are using and exploited in a bad way. And the hackers will just used tumbling services to mix the coins which even makes it harder to trace.
8845  Economy / Economics / Re: Condos in Dubai for sale in Bitcoins on: September 10, 2017, 03:50:24 AM
Wow besides in Dubia which countrys do recieve bitcoin as a payment? why do they considered bitcoin can be payable as money?

I think its more of the realtor being bullish about bitcoin. They consider that by accepting bitcoin as payment, maybe down the line when bitcoin price goes high again, they will somewhat get another profit as 'investment'. I haven't read any country outside of Dubai though, but the good thing about it is that Dubai may set this as a precedence and maybe other big realtors in other country will follow what they have started. But this is a welcoming news for bitcoin. Another good exposure for us.
8846  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoins dropped by almost 500 $ just a few minutes on: September 09, 2017, 03:35:37 PM
For a thing so serious as china banning exchanges, the price drop has not been too deep. Bitcoin is stronger than I expected and am hopeful it will recover with no harm.

Perhaps it is time to buy a little.

Its just above $4300 but I'm seeing that it will go down and this price will not hold for a minute. Those Chinese are really manipulating the price of bitcoin and banning exchanges will most likely have a large effect that will be felt in the coming weeks. Though OKCoin said that they haven't get any official message from PBoC so for now this is fake news that is making a lot of investors nervous that's why panic sells began. We need to wait what will be the outcome but already is done is damaged causing the price to dip again.
8847  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you Panic? on: September 09, 2017, 03:14:14 PM
I have seen a lot of replies here and most of experienced traders are not really affected and do not panic. And for those who panic, its really their emotions telling them to sell instead of using logic that it is better to hold in and not push the sell button. As for me, I don't have the chance yet to experienced such panic because although I'm not new to the bitcoin world, I'm just starting after being a lurker. I will kept the advise that I read here and hope that I will not panic if ever.
8848  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin prices rise high on: September 09, 2017, 02:50:44 PM
maybe for now bitcoin is falling in price and it seems like the right time to buy bitcoin and invest for both short and long term, because I believe before the end of this year bitcoin prices will soar.

The price will not continue to go down that's for sure. That is why its really very good to buy in this dips. Even a small portion as long as you are buying in dips. For all we know, then bitcoin price rise again, it will go even higher as the previous price. So never give up buying bitcoin because we will soon see the price recovered with vengeance. At the end of the year maybe $7000 is possible. So better hold and buy in this dips.
8849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Now ETH is going down to the dip. You SOLD or HOLD? on: September 09, 2017, 02:17:38 PM
Eth is good now.
you can still hold it because i just came back from 300$ again.
i panic too when the price on sept 5. is 280$
and just like that  it comeback to 300$
so no worries . hold Eth.

Holding at this point seems little risky to me after China ban on ICO first and now on exchanges. This seems to be a little worry and panic will definitely be created in market because of the biggest player in the market China banning is a huge concern this will put huge selling pressure and due to which market ideally will be going down. So for now selling is better which ever coin you hold it. You can buy later once the rise starts again.

We can use the opportunity now that it goes low, soon ot will rise. Btc have lots to offer especially in the future so invreasing in value is always possible.

For experienced traders, this is a perfect time to buy bitcoin or ethereum because the price is going down. So besides holding, buying is that best options for most of us. But of course, we can't really force investors specially newbies not to dump their coins in this dip. They have been warned already, but if they continue to do so its their lost, not ours. And let them learn their lessons in the hard way. So its better just to hold and let this storm calm down.
8850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better that China just gets out of Bitcoin? on: September 09, 2017, 02:12:57 PM
Bitcoin was sailing along nicely yesterday and apart from the usual technical issues that accompany Bitcoin and other alts there was generally a positive outlook for Bitcoin. Suddenly the markets went crazy when the rumors came out that China would ban Exchanges from trading in Bitcoin. Personally I am getting fed up with China news having such a big influence on Bitcoin. Nobody knows now for the next few days now what is likely to happen and whether Bitcoin will fall hard should this rumor turn out to be true. What will be the result? - a significant fall followed by longer term stability perhaps. Either way we can't keep having this uncertainty if Bitcoin is going to get acceptance in the general community

It seems that you are a novice here

And thus you likely didn't hear about the Chinese central bank (PBoC) taking steps against Bitcoin in the very beginning of this year. In fact, I don't remember quite well what was the first step the PBoC took against Bitcoin in the first half of January, 2017 (circa 11th), but Bitcoin crashed from +1,200 dollar to almost 750 dollars per coin. Regardless, Bitcoin rebounded pretty fast and with a vengeance at that. The second time they banned Chinese exchanges from allowing Bitcoin deposits as well as withdrawals. This second time should have had a more drastic effect on Bitcoin price but it hadn't. People saw that Chinese Bitcoin exchanges are mostly fake, and today people seem to have forgotten that

I never forgot all the fuzz beginning of the year the the Chinese market is manipulating the price of bitcoin with fake volumes so that PBoC has step in to stop this kind of fraudulent activities. They even suspended trading that's why the price crash ~$1000. The banned on deposits and withdrawals follow suit as well. Its around March-April when they decided to allow them to processed withdrawals/deposit but with a note that if they are caught once again. They will be suspended and subsequently closed.

8852  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should Speculations Be Controlled? on: September 08, 2017, 04:42:44 PM
How can you control it in the first place the market is driven by speculation? There are bad and good side of it, however, its one of the main driver why most of the traders are into the market. They used speculation for profit. For me, its really difficult to clamp out speculation, its up to the individual to really believed speculators or not.
8853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today, Bitcoin dump ? on: September 08, 2017, 04:35:41 PM
I don't understand why china will go against bitcoin as to prohibiting bitcoin exchangers in china. That country rely so much with digital payment and most people there are widely using cyptocurrencies. One thing they should do is just regulate exchangers and don't ban it.

It was really quite a surprise news from China. As we all know that they are bitcoin friendly. But in just 5 days, two negative news coming from them is no good for the market. I see news that they are not totally banning ICO but will put regulations instead. So I think they should do this for the local exchanges there as well. Let's see if they are going to change their decisions.
8854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: China to allow ICOs again on: September 08, 2017, 04:29:59 PM
Usual manipulation from China, we don't really care about their ban. They can ban every single thing about crypto currencies. It would be their loss, not ours. It's not a children game, they must be consistent about decisions.

I agreed, they make the market crash by announcing they are banning ICO, then change their stance. Now the market has crash again because of another news saying that they will shutdown local exchanges. 2 negative news coming from them in a span of 5 days. For me this is a total manipulation and someone from behind is cashing out big time.
8855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today, Bitcoin dump ? on: September 08, 2017, 04:15:49 PM
https://cointelegraph.com/news/breaking-bitcoin-altcoin-prices-tumble-up-to-25-on-china-exchange-ban-rumors

Local outlet Caixin is reporting the Asian country is planning to shut down local bitcoin exchanges, according to a Google translation.

Bitcoin's price fell 7 percent Friday following the news, according to Coindesk market data.

Yes, this what really drove the price to dive today. Its only Chinese exchanges though and not Asian countries. Its really the news the comes from China that impacted the price negatively. We have just recovered from their ICO banning news last Monday and now this. They are really clamping on bitcoin now. I do not know what drove them to be anti-bitcoin, though majority of the mining farms are located in their country.
8856  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-08] Caixin: China is said planning to shut local bitcoin exchanges on: September 08, 2017, 04:10:35 PM
I don't know if this is true but looks like China is putting a ban hammer on bitcoin and the price is going down again. Looks like someone from inside is really making huge profit out of it. We have just recovered by the initial crash they did and this now? Hard to believe that they are making a U-turn on bitcoin. What's next shutting down of all mining farms?
8857  Local / Esercizi commerciali / Re: what do you think will be the future of this market? on: September 08, 2017, 04:03:54 PM
what do you think will be the future of this market? and what needs to change so governments will start to recognize it as a currency?

Only a few government will recognized bitcoin as it is. But most of them are against it because of it decentralized nature. The closest thing we can get is that a government will put a tighter regulations on bitcoin, but not totally adopt as Japan or Australia did. We will have to wait and see, but I seriously doubt that many will follow because the design of bitcoin is that no one can have total control of it, not even government.
8858  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining on: September 08, 2017, 03:53:14 PM
I have bad experienced with a cloud mining "hashocean" I think. And also my friend, we've invested and like cloud vanished and not leaving any traces at all. After that I've started to doubt bitcoin and leave. Until now I came back to regain what I've wasted for so long. Scamming sites are made to gain profit to fool others that I condone and will not be on that situation again. My advice is just be careful and be observant on anything/sites other than this forum.

I also had a bad experience a few months ago with a cloud mining. But they are a total scam site. Never again I fall for their trap. Initially thought that they are legit, however, it turns out that I'm wrong. I'm not saying that they are all scam, but some are only there to really get people's money. So beware.
8859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alternative to ETH Mining for Nvidia GPU on: September 08, 2017, 06:25:50 AM
For the 1080Ti, it is better to mine ZCash.
8860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buying GPUs, need an opinion on: July 06, 2017, 09:02:04 AM
GTX 1080 is lower hashrate than GTX 1070 on ETH, but somewhat better on everything else I've seen.
For Skein Groetsl and the ZEC algo in particular, it's about 15-20% higher hashrate than a GTX 1070 if they are set to similar "OC vs a Founder's Edition" settings.

Whattomine assigns hashrates arbitrarily, sometimes they are "reasonable" sometimes they are quite a bit off, and OC/UC/UV/TDP settings will affect that a LOT anyway.
Nothing they can do about that, given how wide a range of hashrates the SAME CARD (much less the same GPU in different cards) will demonstrate depending on settings and luck in the Silicon Lottery.
They do seem to assume "modded BIOS" cards on the AMD side, and some OC from most of the hashrates I've seen them use.

It's a useful site, but you need to know what YOUR cards will manage for it to be a good comparison site.

I just use the 1080 for ZEC. It is much better there.
